Place was dirty tables were not clean staff were rude! They could not be arsed people were asking for tables to be cleaned!

The beer was very good and well-made, the atmosphere was family-friendly, but the burger was the worst I've ever had in my life, very bland and flavorless.

It's a 'Spoons! Always popular with everyone, families with youngsters especially. Using the app, which is relatively straightforward, you can order everything including drinks from your table so never need to go to the bar. It is achievable to check the Watford FC fixture list prior to your visit as it gets very busy when there's a home game on but then empties en masse half an hour before kick off. Good is relatively basic but the choice is expensive and there's always good beer on tap.

Yesterday I noticed a CCTV camera that was IN the men’s toilets right above the 1st urinal as you walk in. I would suggest to management regardless of your reasons for putting that up that you have that removed as, that may well be against the law!! I’m not sure if they have done the same in the ladies toilets if they have then Then this needs to be escalated to the authorities!!! Unacceptable as there are also children who have to go !!!

The girl serving on the bar whilst also showing the ropes to new staff was an absolute gem and a credit to Wetherspoons. Wish I knew her name as she deserves a big pat on her back from the boss.

Very busy Wetherspoons - typical offer. Decent service. Awkward to move around when busy. Central position in High Street.

Quite a nice place, always seems busy and the only family type pub around here, although not sure if kids allowed in here, but caters for people wanting meals on a weekend and generally well run.

Worst place to visit in Watford. Absolute chaos, hair in the food, 2 dishes in a row! Replacement took 37 minutes. And guess what? It had hair in it too! Staff is extremely rude. Walking zombies not a waitresses.

The breakfast... there was a lack of beans, I have never had so few.... however when I visited the following day the fish and chips was superb

Still can't believe how cheap this place is, two drinks with change from £10, what alternative universe is this! Go before they realise the prices are too low!

Had a family lunch we ordered 2 mixed grills we had our sausage missing on both one got two pork chops one got none . Then ordered dessert two hot fudge cakes one with custard one with ice cream the custard came first it sat there for twenty minutes still waiting for desserts then they came another ten minutes later so custard had to be reheated and there wasn’t enough ice cream to go with pudding apart from that it was average.

Clean and tidy tried hard to please ..still cannot understand why it has motorway price's 🤷 2nd visit..more choice on hand pump 6 guest ales and three standard well kept

Great pub and prices.. Bit noisy and claustrophobic.. Low level of music would help help combat the inane chatter from other patrons.

Why do you allow people that don't buy nothing from here, always with food or drinks from outside in?

Wetherspoons is what it is, a quick reasonable place to get a beer and snack. However it wouldn't hurt the staff (for table service) to smile..... and I would rather pay another pound and have a DECENT portion of chips with my meal.

Usually there's not much you can say about a 'spoons. They successfully churn out the same.food and drink in very similar Wetherspoon environments each with a long walk/climb to the toilets. This venue is no different. Well. Little different. I'm a fan of the mixed grill and felt the meat was a tad drier here than others. The guy that brought my drink then food to me? Great guy! Smiles and banter. The girls that walk the floor and clear tables? Devoid of character and interpersonal skills. Can't complain. Enjoyed my food and drink and watched some Olympics.

A pleasant afternoon at this venue which is a departure from our usual one in Rickmansworth. The clientele are definitely different, but we had a laugh trying to find people with a full set of teeth as we went through many double G&Ts and baby Guinness's! We left happy after a few hours and plenty of laughs. We didn't eat here but it is always consistently good at Wetherspoon pubs so we might try the food next time.

Went with friends for brunch and it's a cheap, cheerful hearty menu. Wide range to choose from. Refillable Lavazza coffee, tea, hot chocolate @ £1.57. No one chases you out. We played kalooki whilst sipping tea and spent a good 3/4 hrs there. Staff are quick, helpful and cleaning constantly. Place is spotless. Will definitely go again

I like this traditional pub. It has an area for everyone plus great food choices, great service and a wide choice of beverages. I didn't partake in the curry club specials last night, but that is one of my favourite meal outs. I went for a link4growth meeting, which kept growing in numbers. The accommodating staff just kept bringing tables and chairs for us. The staff here has always been pleasant and friendly for as far back as remember this place. Moon Underwater is a great place to meet friends or sit quietly writing reviews or reading.

First visit for about 2 years, made the mistake of sitting near the front of the building, was interrupted by a homeless man begging for loose change, this for me, coloured the whole experience, and made me quite uneasy.....( to be fair, this happened , outside the pub, while I slipped out to talk to someone)....

Great atmosphere to relax, eat and catch up, welcoming staff and great food. All you want from the great Wetherspoons pub.

took an hour for my food to come after I’d ordered it and when I asked her it was out of the three times I asked they said it told me it’s coming and then the second time told me the order didn’t go through even though they taken money out of my bank account and the third time she ignored me.

We were here as tourists with local friends. Walking in we were immediately greeted by another customer which was a good start haha. The interior was really charming and I absolutely loved it! The service was top notch, there weren't any poached eggs at that moment but we were given multiple options to replace them and I had a great meal. The 2 pitchers for 15£ was also awesome. We picked the purple rain and Hawaiian punch and they were very yummy! 🤗

Just got back from doctors appointment so didn't have time for breakfast before I left ordered 2 toast and marmalade well the toast was black I sent it back the next lot was still white told the server this is supposed to be golden brown not white I sent that back as well third time lucky? It wasn't much better the reason I'm complaining I don't think the staff know how to cook toast as I've been served quite a few times with burnt black toast or near white come on toast is so easy to do why can't you get it right

All round good pub. But its a weatherspoons so u get what you get. Well worth a visit. And cheap to so all round a good place

The pub which is in the city centre is open for breakfast until 12 noon and offers free refills (all day every day) on tea and Lavazza coffee. For lunch and dinner., there are lighter bites, with deli deal options and vegetarian choices, gourmet burgers and freshly made pizza as well. Nice place for friendly meetings.

Wetherspoons #119 A good sized Wetherspoons on Watford High St, with a reasonable sized beer garden at the back of the pub. This is now the only branch left in Watford Town centre, after the Columbia Press was closed last year. Popped in earlier in the very warm day for a couple of pints of Stowford Press. Returned in the evening for a quick bite to eat and a pint before going home The table number was near invisible on the table I was sat at. Which resulted in me ordering to the wrong table. It took some time for drink and food to arrive, as a result. Ordered the 10" Southern Fried Chicken wrap, with a pint of Strongbow Dark Fruits. Total of £6.94 No issues with food or drink when it arrived. Worth a visit if in the area.

Food cooking wasn't hot enough. Waitress wasn't helpful when I asked for condiments.

Had gammon with salad, and it was lovely. I really enjoyed it.

It's a typical wetherspoons. Relaxed atmosphere, lovely food. Only marked down as was passed over at the bar as a regular approached whilst I was waiting & they got served before me....

Weatherspoon is a cheaper pub the further you get from central London, the cheaper it gets.

Amazing place! One of my favourite pubs in Watford. The location is super central and it's an oasis that brings you back on time a few steps away from the modern shopping centre. The atmosphere inside is super cosy and you can learn some things about the history of the building and the region from the interior. The food is very nice and the traditional English breakfast or eggs Benedict with a coffee or I pint is the perfect brunch that fuels you with energy for the whole day. Also the selection of beers is very very good and you can find a lot of craft and local beer as well as the well known big brands. I highly recommend this place and I'm happy to be there every time I visit Watford.

Everything was really good other than one of our party of three got the wrong size meal served to them. Ordered large ham egg & chips & was given small egg & chips. They also forgot to give us a glass of lemonade. Server went back to check & apologised, it was rectified immediately.

Usual wetherspoon standard andprices. . Very busy bar but good service. There for the football, both team supporters in there and a great atmosphere.

Ordered large and small breakfast. It was sort of warmish, not hot. Service was excellent.

Went for lunch with family for birthday celebrations. Affordable food with a fair few options for gluten free vegetarians, and with two vegetarian celiacs that is a massive bonus. There was a little confusion with food not being as ordered but quickly resolved.

Decent usual experience for Wetherspooms. Ordered on app. Drinks turned up really quickly, and food followed shortly after.

Who don't love a weatherspoons for cheap drinks! Typical 'spoons tbh. Basic building compared to some of their pubs. Efficient bar staff on a busy Saturday night.

Good choice of food. Enjoyed the ambience but a little noisy. Revisited, the soup was cold twice! The waitress did not understand, but the plate was hot. Revisited again and on this occasion soup cold one more time. Table next to us waited far too long for food, some issues? Staff did not offer a refund to them? Chips are never crisp, always soggy!

I see other reviewers say when leaving poor reviews that "you know what to expect". But what does this say about expectations for a good experience at an establishment, whether or not it's a Wetherspoon franchise location? I am rating them as I would any other restaurant or pub that serves food. The table was sticky. Cleaning standards could be better. The fact is, England's signature famous fish and chips was reduced to a piece of fish 1" wide by less than 2 chips long. There are supposed to be quality control standards, aren't there? The taste was okay, but I was so put off by the miniature piece of fish on my plate, my experience on the whole was shaded by this. Even if you're running a lunch special, then people should be given value for their money. Otherwise, it's not a special. If you knock £1.30 off the regular price and cut the fish size down by 60% then where's the special?

As like all Wetherspoons, the food and drink is very well priced and the table service was very quick despite it being busy on a matchday. One of my favourite places to go for food and drinm

Had a fantastic breakfast and come hot

Staff here are wonderful, but the food let's it down. When people think wetherspoons, they think it's the same everywhere. That is not true. I've had nigh on cremated sausages at points, and other time bacon that may as well have just been fat for the amount of meat on it. Breakfasts are always on point though, I can't complain.

Staff were great but food not so much. What o ordered had run out and the alternative was burnt. Nuked too long I'd say. Was supposed to be chille con carne. Do not recommend

A wonderful pub great choice of food and drink, spotless toilets and fabulous garden area,a must visit if in Watford.

Not the best Wetherspoons i have been to, and ironically the head office is in Watford, so you would think that they would have a really good pub. Their excuse would be that football supporters frequent the pub on the match days and its not worth having a really good pub that you feel good to go in and not a dive it is now. My opinion is that all the wetherspoons I have visited over the years, Watford's wetherspoons is the worst I have frequented. Toilets look like they are from the dark ages, and just recently they have two coffee machines on a trial and they are absolutely useless and staff are not interested in maintaining them.

Been in more than 50 different Wetherspoons whilst working all over the country, this one is probably the best and quickest at clearing tables when people leave, tables cleared and clean within 5 mins, decent pint of Stella also 👍👍

Good as usual. Classic spoon. Good crowd in it from young to old regulars. Staff work hard to keep this place clean and tidy.

I am very local to this pub and have been for about 10 years. However recently its has declined in quality of product, both food and drink, and also the attitude towards customers is slipping. In the past 3 months I have had to send back 3 meals for being to cold, and leathery, the food has obviously been left for hours in a hot hold to become tough and cold, Though the first 2 times it was delt with correctly by the manager or team leader on duty. However today I complained about a cold gormet burger, literally cold to the touch. And upon complaining I was spoken to as if i was a child. Being made to believe I was stupid for complaining as the panic'd team leader/supervisor told me "it was busy"... on a monday... with no apology. They gave me a new burger by which time everything else was cold. I ate a bit of the burger before trying the onion rings, becoming completely put off, more so than i was before, as I once again bit in to leather... but this time its leathery batter and over cooked onion rings. The beer was nice today and I wont be askong for a refund as I paid through the app and can't be bothered with the complication. However I highly recommend going somwhere else. The columbia press is not only more nice in quality, but also has friendlier staff, and amazing food (for a spoons), also the chefs seem to care about the food they are cooking. To justify this comment, I am a bar manager (and chef when needed) and understand the health and safty protocols of a spoons. I will not be returning for fear of food poisoning, and with this post warn the general public to do the same. Too long? Bar staff are great, team leaders are rude, the cooks dont care about health and hygiene, they seemed to be more focused on profit and wastage, then they are customer experience. Update. This place is an embarrassment. Shambles. How does the GM sleep at night being such a failure?

Moons pubs are what you expect them to be. Decent prices, decent range, decent portions. Toilets always require stairs and always busy on weekends. This one is no different but always a great place for a catch up with friends.
