We usually visit the maypole when I have been to see my mum who is in a care home and we have the carvery. In this occasion Maxine the waitress was very helpful.. kind and making sure we were ok at all times . She is a very good waitress to your company and to the Maypole. Star points should be given

Great Family Atmosphere, hot kitchen on a late one. FULL Menu, portions massive. Staff exquisite, in particular Hostess with the mostest character. Kirsty. EMMA leaving for higher places. Hayley, s commet all dressed up, Gary another late Tatooine, oh and the guy that rocked up last.. Zero complaints on service.. but recommend kitchen vent cools the caterers better, they are loosing weight ( and they set the fire alarm off in the premier next door, with birthday candles. Wouldnt have gone inn otherwise.. The most fetching, lovely, ever.. family firm. God bless them all. We will return from yorkshire. Apparently Kirsty runs Marathons with a dashound, cost her £1M pounds. Thankyou my play away friends. Thanks for doggy bag foil. Doggy bags to order tmorrow.. Happy life beyond Beafeater Foxhound in Low est oft xxx

We decided to use the Bedford Priory Beefeater for lunch due to its proximity to Priory Marina. On arrival, there appeared to be no instruction to wait to be seated, so we found a table in the restaurant and made ourselves comfortable. After a couple of minutes, a waitress whose first language was clearly not English appeared, and she rudely told us to get out of the restaurant area and go into the bar. She then seemed completely preoccupied in “tidying” the area that we had so blatantly desecrated. I took the opportunity to ask her if she had a problem with us being in her somewhat less than half-full restaurant and reminded her that I would be very happy to go elsewhere if that were the case. We left and walked into town where we found a non-Whitbread restaurant who were happy to have our business!

We were a table of 9 plus 2 dogs looking for brunch on bank holiday Monday. We phoned a few days previous to book a table to be told they couldn’t accommodate us in the dog area indoors but we could just turn up and get a table outside (which couldn’t be reserved either). We travelled 30 miles to come here, paid the parking fee and easily found 2 tables together outside. It was just before 11am as we were told on the phone previously that breakfast was served until 11.30am. The waitress gave us the breakfast menus and asked us to order at the bar. We made our choices quickly but when we tried to order at the bar at 11am another waitress told us that she couldn’t take our order as the kitchen was overrun because it was a bank holiday! This was despite not 1 single table inside the pub being occupied and us easily finding a table outside. We explained that what we were told but she refused to take the order. This was very disappointing considering our previous phone call and having 2 cars travelled a round trip of 60 miles. We were told to order from the main menu but we couldn’t order for another hour as it didn’t start until 12 noon. The waitress was very dismissive and not apologetic. Very poor customer service as far as I’m concerned. We won’t be going back.

We we're celebrating my partner's 60th Birthday. We had Alisha serving us and she was very accomodating. The staff came out and all sang Happy Birthday which I didn't know they were going to do. The lady on reception opened the cake box so my partner couldn't see as it was his cake and said ballerinas. She did make us laugh. All the food and drinks were as we wanted them. The dinner was lovely. The only thing I could criticise was the serving utensils were too hot for us to handle. A few if us on our table got burnt, we soon dropped the utensils when we found out and should have reported it to the restaurant. Just be careful, but enjoy the lovely food they cook. Thank you, will come again soon.

Had a nice lunch here. Setting being a fine old inn on a pretty green in a very cute little harbour village on the lovely north Norfolk coast all added to the enjoyment. I had a very nice burger and chips, served with efficiency and a smile at a reasonable price.

Oh Dear!!! What on earth is going on? We stopped going to the Shorehouse, before there refurbishment, due to the appalling food and bad management. When we heard that it has been refubished, we decided to give it another try. What a great experience. The food was good, and hot, the management were great and the waitresses superb (especially Abby). BUT what on earth had gone wrong. We went on the August Bank Holiday, all three of our meals were appalling. We left it a couple of weeks, and thought we would try again, which we did yesterday. My husbands meal was O.K. my daughters was fine, but my simply chicken, was uneatable. The chicken was too tough to even cut, and it was only just luke warm. (The same as the Bank Holiday experience). I told our waitress Tiana, who said she would tell the kitchen, don't know if she did or not, but we certainly did not get any feed back. Are they reverting back to the appalling food, before the refurbishment? Oh! I do hope not......

Well...I had been to the Shorehouse quite often before the refurbishment but having been today I can only think they blew their entire budget on making it look nice and ran out of funds for trivial things like food and service. We used the app to order, thinking it would save time for all concerned, but it was unwieldy and didn't work half the time. The staff even said the app messes orders up. My husband had to go in search of my drink and was told it hadn't been ordered, in spite of the fact that he had his. We ordered the two course lunch deal, which was £13.99 each. Firstly, they brought our desserts before our main course. They obviously had to be sent back after we explained we had ordered a main course and would quite like to eat that before dessert. When we did get our main course it was hugely disappointing. My husbands scampi, chips and peas were clearly frozen and the peas were so shrivelled they were almost non-existent. My burger was dry and tasteless and the mac n cheese was very obviously microwaved tinned mac n cheese. The desserts, when we got them back again, were pleasant but nothing to write home about. All in all, the food was well below par, especially considering the cost, the service was shambolic and the staff all had looks of depressed resignation at what they had to operate with. Definitely won't be going back!

We visited the Rayleigh Weir Harvester for breakfast to celebrate our grandsons exam results. Our waitress was Chelsea who made our experience special. We were served promptly and Chelsea continually checked that our breakfast was going well and if we needed anything extra It was very good experience and we will be back. Nothing was too much trouble to Chelsea

We entered very quiet at 5pm to be expected on a Wednesday. We went to bar no welcome from the lady sitting at the bar with a glass of wine and her young junior school age boy and a man. A bell rung twice to a lovely barman who served us. We went to our table, and realised she must have been staff even a manager when entering staff rooms. We found pub unfriendly unwelcoming and left.

The restaurant is out in the sticks so there was plenty of parking. The room was very quirky, full of pig ornaments and pictures. The table decor was very simple. The food was amazingly good. Simple dishes cooked just right. Mrs Barganax opted for the belly pork and black pudding. I had the half bbq chicken. Alas, there was no room for dessert.
