i came here with my partner for a long weekend stay to visit some family. We were greeted/ served by extremely lovely staff. Room was very cosy and warm. loved the history surrounding the inn. Food was delicious; very professionally presented. staff are always around if you need anything. will definitely be coming back!

Been coming to biscuit mill for about 40 years and more since hungry horse love it though my husband and I miss the early breakfast but meals are great were coming for boxing day staff are lovely Margaret Barnett .

Had a problem with fruit flies in the bar area, got them in our drinks too! Don't stay on a Tuesday night/Wednesday as bins are collected at 4.45 in the morning, nice wake up call!

The food was delicious and the staff were great, especially considering we were a larger group with children!

Absolutely amazing visit with My 91 year old Grandmother today, we where greeted by Julie who went above and beyond to make our visit as smooth as possible with having a wheelchair can be quite stressful at times, really outstanding service 10/10 Breakfast was great value for money and great quality too... I would like to thank all the staff at Friday street to the Butchers who made my Grandma smile! you all made our day very special we will for sure be visiting again soon. I must add you your cheese room is an absolute dream

Great choice and quality of food - friendly and helpful staff.

We decided to try the Sunday roast during our visit to St Albans. The portions were not as large as in other place, but more than plenty anyway. We both loved it (beef and chicken). The kale was perfectly al dente, and I very much liked the (not very typical) cheese cauliflower. Staff were very very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

We drove past here on way to hotel. Booked online. We have vintage inns near to us and know you get a decent meal. We were not let down.

Had an absolutely wonderful time eating here with the family. Will come again when I've got more time off.

Awful - service was bad - food was OK - apart from I ordered Large Scampi & Chips - 7 pieces of Scampi does not mean large in my eyes and it seemed like I had got the 'last of the chips' as all I had was a pile of 'bits of chips' all the crunchy small bits. When I pointed this out to the waitress, all I got was, the fryers are closed now so nothing I can do ! At the end of the meal, we asked for coffee - at approx 8.10pm to be told - sorry we wash and shut down the coffee machine at 8.00 so you cant have coffee - we were not notified of this beforehand so we could have ordered coffee beforehand so we didn't end up having any dessert or coffees as we were disgusted by the attitude. We then waited 20 mins to get someone to come take our payment. I approached the manager and said that we didn't have the best experience, all he said was 'thanks for your feedback' !!! No apology and no reaction - so that's the last time I will visit - and its a local for us, but not now - I will never use this establishment again - or recommend it to anyone who visits.
