The best restaurants serving British food in East of England

Thr attitude to customers from behind the bar needs some serious improvement. A pub is a place to enjoy and socialise and not be on the recieving end of aggressive insulting behaviour

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Rose and Crown 👍 We went along for a music event and chose to also eat there. Good honest pub. No frills. No airs and graces. Friendly staff Good menu Fair prices We had the chicken and veg pie with mash and the scampi and chips. Proper food! Very tasty. Followed it up by two ice-cream sundaes 👍

This is a proper 'pub' used by real people who live or work nearby. It's not pretentious in any way, just clean, tidy, warm and friendly. And the pub does not currently offer or provide food other than bar nibbles - perfect!

Visited this gem of a place today after finding out the log cabin has been closed. We not from round here but we definitely will be back and recommend to friends etc, a few little teething problems but to be fair they have only been open for the first time since lockdown so it’s understandable and also sporting a new menu. So to summarise bloody lovely and friendly staff and made the four of us very welcome,thanks again

Have popped in occasionally and had the most delicious pie and gravy. Was in the area Saturday and thought a lovely pie and gravy will go down a treat on such a cold day. Saturday luch time, no pies on the menu, just a very basic baguette, omlette, baked potato menu, really disappointed. Should have guessed, very sparse of dinners. Ordered the egg baguette, to be told a minute later 'we can't get hold of any eggs'. So all the omlettes were unavailable too. I've just been to a farmers market down the road that's full of eggs and pies! Cheese baguette ok, very cheap colesaw on side( sorry being really picky now). It has changed hands and don't believe the menu online, we won't be going back.

Site was ok for a pitch up site. Very noisy near and close to the road, ok for one night I suppose if your stuck. The Green Man pub very basic and not like the pictures are showing on Trip Advisor. Not the most scenic site in Norfolk. Will not return .

I think the burger and drink for £15 is a great deal, but it needs to be made clearer which drinks are covered in the deal. I had one pint of Moletrap and that was OK .When I changed to my usual drink of Guinness , I was really disappointed. The bar staff did not know how to pour a good pint of Guiness.It came up virtually flat and too cold also.

Just amazing, the food and service was second to none we had a young man (sorry didn’t get his name) and Michelle serve us. They were friendly and made the experience perfect. We had our two red setters with us and they were made so welcome. This pub says dog friendly and they mean it, even down to a dog station 🐶🐶❤️ thank you yourselves and the chef 👨‍🍳 x

The food was OK. It didn't appear to be fresh from the kitchen and looked a little dry. I found the portion size and dryness disappointing considering the cost of the dish. There was also a black hair which can be seen beside the gravy jug in the attached photo. The staff didn't seem very positive. It may have been a busy afternoon.

This is a regular stop off for us...the pizzas which come with a drink are always good value and tasty option. The refillable coffees work well for us. Staff always pleasant, and the layout of the pub works well with lots of individual areas, which can make it feel quite cosy, especially in winter. We will keep returning based on experience.

Nice looking pub, but suffers from the usual McMullen problem of offhand, borderline rude staff

We always love playing at The White Hart and last night had the pleasure of DJing for Cassie & Alec's wedding. The venue is beautiful and we used our rustic DJ booth to fit in with the lighting and vibe. All the staff are really cool and helpful and we had a blast!!

Nice hotel in a good location and a great breakfast. Staff are really friendly and helpful.

The best pub in Loughton and Essex. Great food and friendly service from the the team. Recommended to all my friends and family.

Food was on key again , Spencer as always was happy and delivered great service, I’ve was fresh no powdered ice here, lovely clean pub and great community feel
