First time in a Weatherspoons Hotel- came for the Beccles soap box race. So, a great location. Staff so helpful and friendly, nothing top much trouble and lovely clean room with large ensuite

The pub is well placed in the centre of Beccles and has good outdoor seating at the front and side courtyard. Parking is limited to either side of the pub but spaces are available. The pub is large inside and offers accomodation.

Stopped for lunch and typical Wetherspoons. Good value and lovely food served promptly at 2.00pm lunchtime on Wednesday. Had the coconut Katsu chicken and rice from the Curry Club menu. With a large glass of wine and two poppodum and three dips. A whole large breast of succulent chicken carefully sliced with tasty sauce. It was all served within 10 minutes and beautifully warm. Only £12 Regularly make this a Thursday lunch time date. But great breakfast before 12 pm. Bottomless coffees for £1.56 all day long. Absolutely great value, superb service, friendly atmosphere.

We love this "spoons" our absolute go to stop off for food after a day out at the coast as it's half way home for us! You always know what you are getting food wise...but...seems to be a local chip shortage on the plates...pay for what you get at the end of the day but we are never disappointed! Staff friendly and welcoming which is why we always stop off on our way home!

In the highstreet, nice table area ou front to watch the world go by.

Always a good experience at Wetherspoons. Cheap meals/deals and coffees in the lovely Riverside town of Beccles.

Did not stay. however I was down for a day so everything meal was welcome. You know what to expect if you have used a Wetherspoon. Me, wife and two Grandchildren fed and watered for £53 so reasonable for the location.

I stayed here overnight on a Sunday. I had never heard of Witherspoon's hotels and I have to say I was very impressed. The room was large with a decent bathroom and all at a very competitive price. I found all the staff in the hotel and the bar very helpful and I certainly recommend the place.

Good food at really good prices. We visited twice during our stay in Beccles and on both occasions the place was quite busy for obvious reasons.

In the heart of Beccles and retained a lot of the old structures. Its a rambling ground floor with lots of little rooms and hide holes, so doesn't feel like a huge place. The bar and service staff were quick and efficient. The only downside is the staircase to the 1st floor toilets, which narrows and is steep.

Had a katsu curry chicken dry not the katsu I ordered worst meal I've had from wetherspoons mentioned it to staff didnr even want to know what wrong with it

As Wetherspoons go this is a really good place. Right in the middle of town and with fabulously cheap beer.

One of the nicest Spoons I've visited, in a beautifully restored old building. The food seems to get mixed reviews here, but my wrap and salad were excellent, and the service was efficient. The only fly in the ointment was the gent's toilets, which looked like they hadn't been cleaned all morning.

Had a panini in restaurant and ordered a side order...bowl of chips .. came on my plate and literally just a few chips ,complained and told that's what you get ! Dissatisfied as we were in Derehams Witherspoon's last Saturday and got a generous bowl of chips there .

Thy staff forcefully acquired the wind passage out of thine box which displeased me greatly. Never stepping afoot again. As for you, Boobort Cullmun, you took so much wind passage out of thine box that I wish you maximum soilage upon thouself.

Quite awful table serv,waiter nearly dropped drinks, very abrupt food delivery (thumped onto table), uninspiring small fish and chips presentation. Quite poor chicken burger.

Alan Hall went to Wetherspoons at Kings Head Beccles for brunch on Friday 15th at 11.10 Had large breakfast and hot chocolate. The breakfast was perfect, eggs were soft and yummy, bacon excellent and sausages were first-class, with tge beans, mushrooms and hash browns and toast, it was a great experience. Thank you Wetherspoons for a wonderful morning start. Well done staff, you did a grrrreat job 😇👏

Bangers and mash with peas and gravy:- sadly wouldn’t call it gravy, was dried out and solidified. Fish and chips was good. Would recommend. Service was quick and polite.

A popular town centre pub with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff and speedy service of well cooked food.

It is what it is, but for £50-odd per night it was great vfm.

Can't fault it. Service quick and friendly. Food lovely and reasonably priced. Hotel was clean and warm. The only downside is parking. Like so many towns in Norfolk, Beccles seems hell bent on deterring visitors by high car park charges.

Does what it says on the tin, great value, warm, clean toilets and very busy. What's not to love about a visit to a Spoons.

Myself and 3 friends were staying in Beccles for a weeks fishing trip. We decided on lunch here, and I have visited the Kings head a few times before. When the food arrived we all looked at our plates and thought 'Children's portions'! My ultimate burger was anything but ultimate, and the portion of chips was measly. We all left feeling hungry and let down by the penny-pinching tactics with the shrinking of food served up.

Doorman seem too busy chatting up women to do there job one lady kept flashing her boobs at the one doorman with a black beard not what I want to see when all I want is a quiet drink with my friends. It seems like the door staff are payed to socialise rather than work. They seem to love the attention and were more than happy to keep the her entertained. I think the dark beard doorman is just there to find a girlfriend not to keep me safe I actually feel a bit uneasy knowing the only way I could get help is by flashing my boobs at them. Think this maybe the last time I go there at a weekend

So this pub is in a great location. Right in the middle of town. This is a really old building and full of history. There is plenty of space to eat or drink, inside and out. All the staff are really pleasant. It’s a Wetherspoons so you know what you are going to get. We stayed for a few nights and were in room 208. There was a generator behind the wall and it hummed quite loudly. We did speak to the staff and they did say they would move us but we decided to stick it out. Sleeping was interrupted when the generator kicking in. Not a complaint we could have moved. Sleeping was definitely not great with the noise. The room was clean and tidy, oh and spacious. There was always coffee, tea, water and hot chocolate available. If you have a disability then speak to the staff as some of these rooms are not easily accessible. All in all, we had a good stay. We loved Beccles and we had a good stay at the hotel. The staff make this place. It’s a beautiful hotel. Don’t be put off my the parking. It’s close by.

Sat out in garden for a couple of drinks and then went inside for Curry Thursday. I had lamb madras and wife had chicken tikka masala, both of which were tasty and spicy. Very happy with service and friendliness of staff.

absolutely horrendous get charged £1.45 for a slice of cheese, get a burnt steak instead of medium rare staff useless need more training on customer service

We regularly visit this pub. Food and drinks, as im all wetherspoons, is good value, and there is plenty of space. We visited for drinks and breakfast on the same weekend. Breakfast is very good value, especially the veggie version, and help yourself hot drinks reaply good value.

We went quite early and sat in one of the side rooms which was comfortable and not too busy. We both opted for gourmet burgers...Tennessee and Vegan burger. Both were excellent and came with chips and onion rings. We had to remind about one set of onion rings but couldnt fault as they were brought out straight away. Reasonable selection of beers on but driving so only had half and had bottomless coffee and orange juice and lemonade, soft drinks meaning the whole bill came in at around £22. We couldnt even think about a pudding as too full. We will definitely be back and were impressed with both the tastiness and quality of the meals and value.

This is a popular destination for travellers. It is situated in the centre of a beautiful, historic town. However, there is no easy access to the upstairs rooms, other than a steep flight of stairs. You may be lucky and find a parking space near to the hotel. If not, you will have to find a parking place some distance away. I manage to park in a disabled bay, just outside the local Co-Op. However, it was still a long walk and a steep climb to my room. My room was warm, comfortable and quiet. However, I did not appreciate the Vegan oat milk sachets and decaffeinated teabags.

Came over for Saturday lunch and had a very enjoyable lunch, managers special of Madras Curry with rice and poppadums was an absolute steal at £3.99 and the beer is always cheap.

Popped in for brunch last Saturday. Both meat and veggie small all day brunch were really good value and well cooked...veg one 2 sausages, beans, egg and chips and meat one 1 sausage, bacon, beans egg and chips both with an orange joice included. Bottomless coffee...flat white from machine but surprisingly good was only £1.20 each. All.in we paid around £16 which i thought was good value. Plenty of inside and outside space....was good to be out. Staff were very pleasant. Overally really impressed.

Visited last week for curry Thursday. Great staff, both polite and efficient. Fast service. Tasty curry and plenty of it. It was so good we went again today (curry Thursday). What a difference. The place was dirty with used crockery and utensils left on many tables. Was served at the bar by something that needed an identity tag. Asked for ice in my wife's soft drink glass. Two ice cubes placed in glass. Had to ask for more. My pint of Guinness was served with a two inch top. Had to ask for the thing to let it settle and then top it up. Was told they did not have the curry we wanted. It was sold out. At 12.30?? Accepted an alternative. Asked, quite aggressively, for our table number. All this done with an undercurrent of hostility and contempt by the unsmiling face behind the bar. Found a table not covered in dirty glasses and plates. The curry arrived served by an unsmiling, dismissive waiter. No mango curry on plate although the menu clearly states this is included with the the dish. Happened last week as well but the lovely lady serving asked if we wanted it and left a big bottle of it on the table. We had to ask this time. Mr no smile bought two tiny portions and plonked them on the table. Asked him to get some more. Another two even smaller portions plonked even harder on the table. The curry, so-called chicken korma, had four pieces of meat in it and tasted of nothing. My wife is Asian - she knows what curry should taste like. The portion of rice was small - even by Tenko standards. We were going to make this a regular Thursday venue but if you serve s---e food and clearly wish your customers were elsewhere then it isn't going to happen, is it?

Popped in for lunch after going to Twyfords who were rude upon arrival. Menu is typical weatherspoons with something for everyone. Ordered and paid via the table app and everything was delivered efficiently. Staff were polite and friendly; food was good / hot and price was great. Would visit again next time we're in Beccles.

Huge room. Nice and warm. Good TV. Brilliant, stylish bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. Decorated to a high standard. Way above average. Just a hop downstairs to the bar and dining room. On street parking. Could be a problem if you are disabled. Right in the middle of town, so busy at night.

Due to COVID all doors if the building remain open for circulation . But then they go another step forward and have air conditioning blasting out , so everyone is sitting eating and drinking with a jacket or coat on inside the pub. This is not a comfortable environment when you have to wrap up inside. When I asked the management and staff , the reply was we need the air con on as it gets warm behind the bar. We left and went and found another pub to sit comfortably .

Food was ok. i understand about making allowances , things being difficult in the current climate etc etc.It would be so much easier if there was a clear queuing system and enough staff working behind the bar to take orders, Then customers would not cut each other up intentionally or otherwise and be in a bad mood to start with. The red haired bar person is especially rude. Shouting at people who do not recognise the chaotic ordering system is not the way to go. Terrible customer service

None of the tables were cleaned between customers. When asked someone to clean it it was done half heartedly and rather begrudgingly. I thought with the pandemic it was standard practice to clean the tables between customers to stop the spread of germs. I wouldn’t...

On holiday first time since covid reared its ugly head so with mixed feelings decided to have our first meal out for nearly 18 months as we are both in the very vulnerable group and have had to shut ourselves away. We were very disappointed...

Very disappointed. Having visited here many times without any problems, we stopped here and wanted breakfast. We were informed by the waitress that that they had not got any eggs so couldn't serve any food with eggs! We had to make do with just coffee...

Always stay for 1 night before going boating on broads.stay in disabled room out the back.the toilet / wetroom is huge.the furnishings are quite modern .even air con/ heat.the bar area is always busy but always find a table.food not fine dining but good enough...

You very much get what you pay for at Wetherspoons which in our case was a dried up burger full of gristle and soggy lettuce.

Went on Christmas Eve to have my last real ale before going into Tier 4. Pub at 1.30 was fairly empty but we were served by a nice friendly girl waitress. They are certainly organised themselves for people, like us, who don't use the App. Ordered the gourmet burger and chips and real ale. Beer was good as normal. The food was so so but the chips were a very small portion and cold. My husband's food wasn't much better. We could hear the waiting staff giving instructions to the chefs all the time so they were either very new or forgetting things. It was a pity because the Beccles Wetherspoon's food is normally good. The pub was very clean, well organised. Well done to Wetherspoon's staff in that respect.

Instructed quickly on getting a table and ordering from the queue or the app. Chose the queue which was quite quick. Drinks arrived a minute after and everyone was happy with their food that arrived in very good time and tasted real. The post lockdown was the first cut price we had, much earlier than the others... £15 round??? My son had the steak.cooked medium. Didn't have myself as thought it would be dodgy...I was jealous..tasted juicy, good clean flavour. My Chicken fillet burger was nicely cooked breast too. Great for the price. We needed to dash off at end but realised little ones had not had their desserts. Disturbed the queue to ask if was possible to take away and barman leaned over asked the manager who said No...but can bring out straight away and they did within 2 mins. Very organised, warm friendly well run business.

I know the general accepted rule for eating out is, “ You get what you pay for” but in this case, it turned out to be LESS than the truth.First, the prices of both food and drink have been increased post lockdown. For that increase, there is no apparent difference to either food quality or appearance ...Second, I thought that maybe Wetherspoons were playing a ‘taxation’ game by hiking up the prices to make up for the government incentive of reducing the VAT on eating out by 15% ... but no.They are not participating in that incentive.So, what is mister ‘Wetherspoon’ doing with that additional government supplied funding ?? For my money, I will choose one of the other bar/restaurants in Beccles, needing custom and maybe appreciating that customer more, than Mr Wetherspoon.And ... social distancing & track and trace, seems they’re not bothering to participate in that one either. ‍♂️

First Time - I Have Been To The King's Head Restaurant,The Day we all went, was a really busy - a lot of people in the pub / restaurant,looked Very Traditional & Interesting place To Visit & Socialize,to eat enjoy a meal,ideal for families - Access for disabled user,All our meals came out piping Hot & Not much wait even thou it was busy; the only thing the Lady behind the Asked what I was doing - I Said Was Reviewing the Pub /Restaurant On TripAdvisor & Was going to Rate the overall service,it was only when I showed the TripAdvisor Icon,She Believed Me,There are Bar Games Available - Eg,Fruit Machines - Background Music, Downstairs Disabled Toilet Available,I Would Recommend to Other people to come and visit.

Usually good service and a wide choice of food at very reasonable prices. But our last visit a few days ago left a poor impression.The menu has not as much choice. Out of our 4 orders, 3 were "out of stock" so we had to choose again. It took ages and was annoying. The service obviously doesn't include staff knowing what's not available.The table service was awful - staff were rushed and virtually threw the food and cutlery at us. I asked for water on the table and was told to get it myself of the bar.The whole place looked weary. Signs of a badly managed establishment. Shame.

Stayed here on a Sunday night for £49, what a bargain! As we had travelled a fair distance decided to have a quick snack and an early night.

A wide variety of ales and lagers. Food is OK but not brilliant. There's a patio at the back for smokers too. Many moons ago I stayed there - but it has been upgraded now. It doeas get busy as their prices are good.

Reasonably priced and a great place just to chat with friends without breaking the bank. Good selection of wines, real ales and lager.

Just spent a night at the hotel and ate in the restaurant for evening meal,late night snack and breakfast. Absolutely first class service and food. Every member of staff polite and helpful. The speed of service from ordering to service was incredible! Hotel room was lovely and bed comfortable. Will definitely return .

We called in on Wednesday for coffee whilst waiting for our coach. Coffee and tea was fine but it was quite dark in there. May be ok for evening drinks and meals but we searched for a table with day light. I know it is an old building but a brighter interior would be much better.

We have enjoyed many " good value " meals in Weatherspoons over the years, but our experience here has to rank as the best! A very spacious eating area, even though it may not appear so as you first enter? A great bunch of staff who seem to be enjoying their work and as the review title says a really good meal! VFM and Quality, a winning combination.

Decided to have a quick drink as on holiday. Monday beer £1.99 a pint! Quite busy but saw good food coming out so went back for dinner. 6.30 on Monday and packed. Quite slow to get a drink but found table and used the Weatherspoon app. Marvelous!! Had meal with drink offer. Burgers really good, sides not bad. Did some people watching then thought cocktails were a good idea. Both really nice and served quickly. Will be back when next in Beccles.

I wouldn’t even give this a one star! My partner simply (rather loudly) said the barman looked like Superman, well to me this is a compliment. What man doesn’t want to look like Henry Cavill?!! Next thing I know we’re being frog marched out of the place by the manager. The bouncers then proceeded to then heckle my partner and I as we were walking away. They called me a old slag or slapper; some degrading word I wouldn’t associate myself with. I was really upset by this so I walked back to the bouncers for an apology. Perhaps a little bit silly as they obviously were doing this for a reaction but I thought it was disgusting as they are supposed to be stopping violence not encouraging it! They then threatened to beat me up and kept goading my partner for going bald, which was a bit ironic considering he had no hair and missing teeth. Perhaps calling him a upside down head wasn’t classy and I should have been a bigger person but I was extremely upset at being called derogatory words when I was trying to remove myself from the awful situation. All I wanted was an apology for the disgusting things they were shouting to me. When I realised I wasn’t going to get said apology, we walked away and I kid you not to the heckles of being called ugly! This time decided it was best just to go back to our hotel!This is Beccles for goodness sake but instead to our shock we were transferred to the set of Peaky Blinders! The barmaid in another establishment told us this is actually quite normal behaviour for them, so please AVOID!!

Visited here after a bad experience else where. Never been in a Wetherspoons before, not hoping for much. It was very busy, but very friendly staff, very fast service, fantastic value and really great food. Well done guys, you do a fantastic job, we will be back.

My wife and I visited Wetherspoons for our lunch. Although very busy our orders were taken quickly and the food arrived equally as quickly. Our food was well presented and well cooked. Thank you to all of the staff that dealt with us. Will definitely call again when in beccles.

Its a weatherspoons, but it's an above average weatherspoons. So you know what you're going to get and it's good value

Popped in for a lunchtime snack, not been before but we generally like Wetherspoons for a quick bite and a cheap pint. We opted for cheese and tomato panini with salad. The latter was good with a tasty dressing, but oh dear, the panini was dreadful, hardly shown the toasted, so warm and doughy, the tomato was completely raw and the tiny amount of cheese was tasteless. I was hungry but gave up halfway through. So disappointing.
