Moorhen in Peterborough

Very good pub, food was ok. Received good service from one of the gentlemen, however I found the lady staff to be snobbish and pretended not to see us hence waited for over 30 minutes before being served at the counter .

Lovely meal at the Moorhen today. Decent pub grub, decent atmosphere, had a lovely evening with hubby.

Ok if you like a metal screw with your rice!! And 11 days later still get no response from senior management.

Okay if you want to be deafened by sport on loud speakers loud enough for half of Hampton to hear! Dessert took ages to come out and was small. It's an okay pub but nothing special.

Spur of the moment decision to eat out and once found we're not disapointed

Staff was kind but a bit slow 🐌 food great plenty for a dish, fries very tasty.

What more can I say! Absolutely stupendous. The chef on shift truly worked his magic and whatever he’s being paid , double it!! He bought me out my food with a smile too! I will definitely be returning and Zack’s superb service is one of the main reasons.

This is a really lovely place, the food was reasonably priced and tasty. I was looking forward to going back. Unfortunately, at the girls next lunch they told me that they did not want to go again. I was shocked until the told me how badly the area around the toilets had just stank of urine. So until this is resolved they will not go - I have no sense of smell so I did not realise at the time. I hope it is resolved quickly. Best regards Ann

Me and my Husband recently visited the Moor Hen pub. I just wanted to shout out the amazing service we received from Evan. He was incredibly helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble! We will be returning for sure. Thanks once again Evan!

Amazing pub, great service. Had a brilliant time. Love the view. They ha a pool table and a brand new dart area. Will be back soon.

Never been in before but I tell you now it's my new local! New dart area that looks amazing and my food was on point.

Came in for a quick beer then the football kept me in, after seeing some delicious looking food come out all 5 of us have ordered main meals. Everyone needs to come and see the new dart area as well!

The place has come along way in the last 4 months matt and Spencer have done a amazing job the pub feels so much cleaner and fresh new darts area looks great I cannot wait for more to come the staff have improved and the beer is great. The service on food is improving onwards and upwards I say

Fantastic pub. Friendly staff with a warm welcome. Great for family’s and dog friendly. Sports tvs and pool table and darts . Comprehensive menu of good food.

Food was lovely. Could do with more mash and mushy peas 😂 Special mention to Matt, assistant manager he's very good and since he's been there more entertainment.

WOW OW WOW , bar been re varnished, new dart area looks brilliant, good on point as always drinks and service great , lovely view from the great garden , only down side some new carpets and furniture needed ,, som en great new staff Jess and Sydney , great asset to the fantastic team , Jon’s quiz on Sundays still great as is Matt’s killer pool on Thursday

Come in on a sunny Sunday afternoon and got the chicken wings sharer matt behind the bar was great and suggested the wings sharer definitely worth it I'm guessing it was Joe in kitchen as that's what my card said . I got to say I come here regularly and the place has got so much better since the new manager started matt is excellent and always helpfull will definitely keep coming back

Alison is great, sorts us out and has a nice chat for every F1 race👍

Always a great time here. Alison and the staff are friendly and the food if good value and tastes good. Alison also sorted out a table for me and my friends to watch the F1 on a Sundays which is amazing. Feel very lucky to have it round the corner

Great food great beer I have been here few times now and I am becoming a regular now as i always feel welcomed and Matthew and Spencer the managers are a great asset to the pub there ideas and the things he wants to do will be great next year

The place is has improved so much under the new boss man the Guinness is great and a good price too the garden has improved too he was telling us all his plans for next year and I cannot wait to return

Iv been coming in a while now and the changes the new manager matt is doing is great and is making it feel alot more welcoming like the lights outdide are a great touch jess behind the bar is great too she works hard and doesnt stop

Attended for the Sunday night quiz , had dinner and a few drinks. Service was great , food good, John who hosted the quiz along with serving drinks/food and cleaning up the tables was excellent as always. John is always friendly and very professional and always does everything he can to keep the customers happy.

John is the best quiz master and pours a great pint.

Great Sunday quiz night John really is great, always manages to serve and run quiz, swiftly, very approachable and efficient. Food always hot, although pub seems to run out if draught beers n ciders by Sunday.

Really enjoyed the quiz. Need more people on our team to help! But great fun, great atmosphere and John was brilliant quiz host.

I had a great time out with friends for drinks! The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. The food was delicious and arrived promptly, plus the service was outstanding and the prices were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend it!

Just went for an impromptu dinner with my mum, we used a 30% voucher and had a great meal. But wish to add we went at 5pm and there was only 1 member of staff on she wad rushed off her feet serving the bar, taking food orders serving meals to guests and clearing tables, she worked like a trouper for over an hour she remained focussed and worked fast and professionally. We told her that we had watched her work really hard she said " she does her best" A big shout for Sydney you need to give her a bog pat on the back Well done Sydney.

This is a really nice restaurant, located right next to a lovely lake. Ther service was brilliant with really friendly staff and the value for money was incredible. We both got chicken burgers for just over £10 and the size and quality of the meal was superb. We will be going again and advise people to give it a try

Short of time. First ever visit. Lunchtime. Greeted and served by very pleasant lady. Ordered drinks and food,arrived fairly quickly and enjoyable. Had to leave for another appointment but plan to return perhaps on the Curry or Steak nights. Although not used they do accept the Blue Light Card.

Lovely food, good drinks, atmosphere very good. The lady at the bar dark hair always has a laugh and a smile.

Great little local with a beautiful beer garden looking over lake what a sun trap it was aswell they had music on outside speakers that a new I think and the staff was friendly especially the manager Matt he was more than happy to help with any quistions we had

We have been working away and staying local to the moorhen, on our first night we was greeted by Jess, she was extremely friendly and served us for most of the night.

For me its my local and the perfect pub. Staff are friendly and fun and they remember your name. The new food menu is to die for and the wide variety of drinks caters for all. The location is great catching the sun most of the day allowing you to have a nice drink next to the lakes

Nice pub when quiet. However, this is not very often on a weekend. Also, its location means it doesn't have a lot of competition, and so it gets its fair share of chav's. If you have an alternative go there instead.

Popped in for a 21st birthday party.. staff were brilliant and attentive. Atmosphere good.. only thing a negative I'm afraid was the standard of the fixtures and fittings. Was very stained seats. My friend apologised to me when he stood up. It looked like he wet himself. Come on moorhen the money you charge ..let's get the upholstery cleaned..

New menu, lovely and friendly staff, and Lush food. I go here for a pub quiz that they run from 7 pm to around 9:30-10pm. ( £1 per person and a cash prize and runner-up prizes of wine).on a Sunday evening. As I am part of a team that takes part. I can highly recommend the steak with a good choice side. If you don't want chips, they offer Mash, Jacket potato, or Salad. Ask about vegetarian options or check out the menu. Also, have a good range of spirits, beers, and lagers on tap cocktail menu and a glorious Sunday roast available till 5pm. Soft drinks are available, too. Children friendly and free WiFi. Sports are available to watch. Wheelchairs are welcome, too. Dogs are also welcome, I enjoy a good laugh with the staff and manager/ess. Join, Joe, Ciaran, Craig and all the staff for excellent service, and Lush food and a very good atmosphere. The smoking areas are available ( just ask one of the bar staff). Sorry, there are no photos. Children's menu is available, and you can build your own dessert as I did last week. You can pay for each item or for smaller treats. Try using the kids menu.😁😁😁👍👍👍.

Come down Yesterday we had a few drinks in the garden was hot and sunny the bar staff was great beer was cold and we got to meet the new manager who was walking round interacting with us all explaining what is happening in the summer sounds exciting👍🍻🍻

Stopped here while on a family road trip and it was a nice stop over. Good food and friendly staff, great service by Matt. We will definitely stop again if we are down that way.

Last night (at about 22:45) me and my friend were trying to enjoy a pleasant drink outside when out of nowhere a glass was thrown by someone else in the beer garden and very nearly hit my friend in the face, it wasn’t aimed at her but was so close that she said she felt it brush past her face as it was thrown. The glass then obviously shattered as it was thrown with such force, and when a lovely member of the bar team came to clean it up my friend was understandably still very upset. The bar member could see this and assured us she would then grab the bar manager. So we stayed where we were but 10 minutes went by and the bar manager was nowhere to be seen, until we went inside to find him and then got a shock to find he was stood behind the bar collecting glasses. We then had to grab him for a chat which is unacceptable as he should have been the one to check on us. We asked him why he didn’t come out straight away to which his response was “I was looking at the CCTV”, which is a shameful excuse. The bar manager’s name is Matthew and he should be ashamed of himself. He made no effort to help resolve the situation there and then, and just decided to hide in his office rather than face the people involved (I need to add there were plenty of witnesses outside so his first response should have been to speak with them, and then look at the CCTV after). I should also add that there were children present when there really shouldn’t have been, any pub that allows children in after 9pm should feel ashamed also.

Has a lovely lunchtime meal with my family, service was great and fast. Matthew made us feel very welcome.

We popped in last night and the pub was busy and the garden has a great atmosphere with speakers and amazing new lights would definitely come again. Matt was very welcoming.

Popped in for quick drink and sat outside, really peaceful and relaxing. Didn't eat but the food looked really good. Matt was really polite and pleasant and nothing seemed to much trouble for him. 👍👍
