Food was good but I feel there wasn't enough food on my plate for the price I paid Service was as you would expect it to be Nice pub and decor Parking isn't amazing but there was other var parks adjecent to the pub .

We came for a results day treat, everything was great as always, Danny served us, we had a meal missing but was resolved quickly, service and food great

Excellent Sunday roast on a Sunday afternoon. Food was delicious and Funad was really welcoming at the bar outside. Amazing river views and chilling atmosphere. Will definitely be back again.

Booked in for a Sunday lunch. My wife's meal was veggie and she enjoyed it. When we put the order in I picked the 3 meat version but I said I didn't want pork so expected 2 slices of turkey and 1 of beef or vice versa. I ended up with 1 slice of turkey and 1 very fatty extremely thin slice of beef which was inedible, also a big piece of pork crackling across the top. needless to say I did not enjoy my meal at all. When we spoke to the manager he kept us waiting in the end we had to go and find him and he did not charge for my meal but did for my wife's, plus our 1 drink each Its a nice place maybe it was just a bad day and I was unlucky When someone says no pork it's for a reason!

What a lovely place! Haven't been before, the decor is gorgeous and the outside eating area is wonderful. Had the vegan coronation chickpea sandwich, it was delicious. Will def go again.

We have just visited the Boathouse restaurant Peterborough for a late lunch. We ordered 2 starters 2 mains plus deserts and coffee all of which I have to say was - absolutely superb. Our compliments go to Danny’s team - Tyler,Steve Norton & waiting staff, their hospitality and professionalism was excellent through out our visit . WELL DONE Keep it up we will definitely be back , a definite 5 stars from us. Richard & Nicki

Lovely restaurant, we were celebrating the end of GCSEs and the staff managed to fit 9 of us in, food was lovely, we had burgers which were lovely. The views from the outside seating area are fantastic. Will definitely revisit.

Very impressed with this pub. I definitely recommend the meals there. You really do get a lot for your money. Staff were kind and helpful and the general aesthetic of the pub was pleasing.

4 of us visited today at 1pm for our mother’s 81st birthday. We decided to sit in the garden area, all I can say is,Service , friendliness of the staff and the food was absolutely outstanding, Will definitely visit again.

Visited here on 22nd August 2024 for friends wake. There was a young lady behind the bar (Hannah) she was composed and professional. Whilst a guinness was settling she served someone else keeping the queue moving. Very polite and friendly staff. I passee my praise to Danny assistant manager and he was very happy to hear. The other staff I saw were smart, polite, friendly and very good. We will return for a more happy occasion. I gave 4 out of5stars because the ramp to pavement is too high and the path to the door is undulating and my wheelchair found it awkward but over all a lovely clean place.

Lovely pub but was let down by a number of things. Firstly they didn’t have any apple juice for my daughter. Her meal was missing cucumber. My Sunday dinner was missing pigs in blankets, also frozen cheap roast potatoes when they should have been garlic and rosemary duck fat potatoes. My daughter’s dessert was missing a number of items. All these things were stated on the menu so shouldn’t have been missed. They took over half an hour to bring out our desserts and the pub was empty. It’s not a cheap meal so these things should not of been missed.

Not value for money anymore!! I’ve eaten and drank here on many occasions where the food, service and drinks have been very good. Can’t fault the decor and atmosphere but there is definitely a decline in the food quality, quantity and service. My plate of food (scampi and chips) looked like a child’s portion. Gaps on the plate with the smallest portion of chips I’d ever seen or been served in a restaurant. I was still hungry when I left. And the wine is now measured. I understand for spirits but not for wine. Very disappointing. Service really slow too. Not sure if under new management but certainly not the same before the refurbishment. On a positive the outside looks lovely. Won’t be eating or ordering wine from here again though. Very disappointing.

Just stopped by for a cold drink & light lunch. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, and it was busy. Have to say it was lovely, slight mess up with our order but was rectified immediately with politeness, location lovely next to the river. We sat under an umbrella and watched the world go by for an hour or two. The staff were very much on their game we saw them keeping an eye on everything. Well done definitely 5 stars from us

Burger was dry I think it had been microwaved as it was also rock hard. Served with a handful of shrivelled chips. Not good . Complained politely and discreetly to waitress she said she would let the kitchen know.... no dinner no refund offered..

There’s been alot of work done since we last visited and the beer garden in particular is a lovely place to be, especially on a sunny day. Danny was great with his service as well

Located on the edge of the Nene and the rowing lake, it's a perfect location for a walk before returning for a meal, offering one of the best outside seating areas in the area, good food and beer dog friendly and welcoming staff 👍

Celebrating a friend's birthday. Service was fairly slow. Food was average. I had a three meat Sunday roast and asked for a side of cauliflower cheese, which, when arrived, was an interesting colour of grey, very odd and not at all appetizing to look at, needless to say it got left. Prices are very high. In another green king pub which I frequent, a bottle of pebble bay white zinfandel is about 17 pound, here it was £21.99, again needless to say it wasn't purchased. Overall it was just okay 🙁

06.08.2024 - update I made contact as requested, however no communication from Green King or management to discuss this. Therefore downgrading my review 23.5.24 Recent refurbishment has had a positive impact on the facilities. Thursday evening. Table booked. Waited over an hour for food. Update during wait was 10 mins, but was 20+. When it arrived peas(possibly tinned) were cold and less than a dessert spoon size portion. Grilled tomato was burnt and rock solid. Egg with Gammon was also roŕck solid. Front of house were helpful and polite despite kitchen letting them down. Most tables around us had a complaint about the food.Glorious outdoor area with plenty of seating and landscaping.

Not really prepared for that amount of people as they are visiting this place.. Wasn't really full but had to wait for 40min for 3 burgers;( sorry but this is not expected.. Food quality is oke nothing special would not be my favourite for a burger;( Place looks nice ( cleaning the tables is something which should have done...) but furniture in and outside looks pretty oke. Don't expect something great just avg food then it's fine. The price is too high for this quality to be honest.

After an evening walk along the river we stopped at the Boathouse. Really pleased with the welcome and atmosphere of the busy pub. We decided to sit out in the sunshine on the large patio area and had a delicious meal. Not only was the food competitively priced it was very tasty and exceptional quality

Boathouse is a hidden gem! The food was absolutely delicious, with flavors that burst in your mouth. Every dish was cooked to perfection. The service was equally impressive; our server was attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Victor was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend

Beautiful setting overlooking the lake with a pleasant atmosphere, an outside bar and great service. The drinks are reasonably priced given the location and just at the front is a space to lock up your bikes which for me is handy when I want to pop in for a cold beer after my bike ride. Although I cannot comment on the food as I've not eaten here it looks top notch when I've seen it being served at another table. Good facilities and clean toilets and the staff are always friendly. One member of staff who stood out was a young gentleman named Fuhad. Very professional, charming and polite and always ready to greet you with a smile and conversation if you want it. Great little pub and always my go to after a few miles riding round Thorpe Wood and Ferry Meadows. Definitely worth a visit.

I recently visited and was thoroughly impressed. The warm hospitality and inviting decor set the tone for a delightful experience. The service was attentive and knowledgeable. To top it off, the dessert was the perfect ending. Overall, this restaurant offers outstanding food, service, and ambiance. Highly recommended!

The food was good, but the service was terrible, we ordered drinks when the waitress came to our table, then about 15 minutes later she came to ask if we were ready to order food which we were, I asked her what was happening about our drinks order and she said the bar was very busy and will be with us soon. When I looked to the bar 4 people were chatting and they had only just arrived. Roughly 10 minutes later the starters were brought out and still no drinks about 10 more minutes and our drinks appeared unfortunately as she put the tray of drinks on the table near us my pint of ale fell on the table and floor. Hence the comments about the terrible service. Plus on a previous visit the service then was very bad apparently because of staff shortage, it doesn't look as if they have sorted the staffing problem out, ideally with some knowledge of service.

Danny was exceptional, amazing customer service, brilliant smile, made us feel really welcomed. Definitely better than taffy, super upbeat and polite helped us with the raffle!

Myself and my partner came in for lunch we was served by a loverly young lady called Becky who was extremely helpful, polite and very kind she showed us to our table once we ordered drinks and food came out quite quickly and it was beautiful compliments to the chef 🧑‍🍳 brilliant serve and a loverly atmosphere will definitely be returning.

Great food, lovely surroundings and Danny took the time to run through the allergen list for a gluten allergy which was really reassuring. Thank you!

Food was taking ages to be delivered

A pleasant place to go for a walk in a large area, lakes, parks, parking is possible, there is a garden area.

There was 6 of us 4 adults& two children under 10 . We ordered the children’s meals to come with the adult starters .3 adult starters turned up but we were missing 1 starter along with the kids meals .onto the Mains meal for the adults , 3 turned up & again we were missing a meal . Ordering a pudding for the kids & 1 adult , they all turned up but there was a mix up on the pudding . The food was excellent , Atmosphere was great and they’ve done a brilliant job on how it looks which has now includes an outside bar . I gave it 4 on the service as the Servers Where Very polite And apologetic For what happened and was quick to sort out the issues . This wasn’t their fault but a process issue otherwise it would of been 5 stars The boathouse is well worth a visit for drinks and for meals

First visit since the refurb. Nice to see a larger outside area where there appears to be enough space for most. Unfortunately a little unhelpful if you are on your own as you have to choose a table first to get a number then go to the bar to order (no other way) so you have to leave some sort of item/belongings on the table to reserve it else someone may sit there while you're ordering! Chef also doesn't seem to know the difference between a rare and medium steak as mine was very over done. No cutlery or even napkins brought nevermind seasoning. Bit of an average visit however it was a pleasant view once I'd got ordered and relaxed. Nice for a Saturday bimble as situated in a lovely park where you can walk off the calories too! Free parking as long as you put your car reg into the machine

Went in for a drink tonight, first time I’ve been in since it has been refurbished, the garden area looked great, it was busy and had a lovely atmosphere. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were served by Danny and he did a great job. Didn’t eat but plan on going back to try food as it all looked lovely when the waiter was bringing it out!

Definitely NOT value for money. Garlic bread was one small slice cut in half for £4. Looked pitiful. Fishcake and salad looked very sad on the plate. There was a big gap where more food should have been. The salad was wilted, the poached egg was a mess, a chunk was missing from the fish cake. AND to make matters worse the fish cake was cold. The chicken and bacon sandwich was better but still I’d only give 5/10 at most. Chips were cold and dry. Salad, I didn’t touch as it looked a bit limp. I left and stuffed my face with Pringles because I was so disappointed and still hungry.
