Really lovely venue. Gorgeous walks around. Staff very friendly and helpful. I had the steak ciabatta which was delicious- although I did ask for extra rare and it was well done when it came. Still tasted great though.

I have had four individual meals here and each time the service is top notch, the food is absolutely great, my favourite is Bakewell Tart but with ice-cream, have got a sweet tooth.

Service is very slow, food was very slow to come out in between main and starter was excessively long. Food was oily and cold and basic. All the food was covered in a sauce and tasted the same, fish was over cooked and steak was not cooked rare as requested.

Did not have any food,menu looked very similar to other mid priced establishments.

2nd time here in recent months, good food, reasonable prices, very enjoyable, served by Hannah and Mark

Food generally okay. However, don’t order off the Young Guest Menu if your child is above 4 years old. Ordered a burger and chips for my 9 years old. What he got was approx 1/4 of a burger in the smallest bap I’ve ever seen - about 2inches across. He finished his tablespoon of beans and 8 chips in about 2 minutes!

This place is awful. Cold food and awful staff. The people at the bar was miserable. The only good thing was the free cream egg.

Poor service. Cold food. Although the setting was nice, staff were miserable and grumpy. They got orders wrong and were reluctant to admitting they had prices wrong. Roast dinners were cold and staff refused to take them back to the kitchen to reheat them. I would not recommend.

Was lovely as always. Would have like to have had the option of a lamb roast for Easter but nevertheless the food was delicious & the service was fabulous! One of our favourite spots for a roast :)

Although we had a problem with the chicken, Emily was fantastic dealing with this and her service was great all night.

Went for a quick drink at the end of a hectic day and enjoyed the atmosphere and relaxing decor.

Ordered a roast dinner with beef which came out like warm and dry. I let the staff know when I could finally get their attention when I’d almost finished eveything else and they’d offered to get me more. Of course it was too late so I politely declined and they didn’t offer any kind of discount. Wouldn’t return for food

Table service and food first class but let down by the barman who walked past me 3 times and did not agnolage me,being the only person at the bar ot was very frustrating.

After an hour of waiting for the food to arrive for two people I had to go and ask .also the toilets were disgusting .neither acceptable I'm afraid

Haven’t eaten at the Boathouse for a number of years but today on Mother’s Day the food was amazing . Thank you so much.

I had great hopes when we booked and when we drove up it looked great. We said we had a booking and were given a table. We went and got some drinks and picked what we wanted and went to the bar. To be then told sorry no steaks. Which was odd as it was early Saturday evening. I then tried to order the lamb shank but the wasn't in stock either. So I asked what was in stock. I wondered why they didn't tell us when we came in. I then went to order a drink the guy behind said he wouldn't be a minute. But went off to deliver some drinks and started to collect glasses on the way back. The guy wearing a black shirt behind the bar just ignored me he was busy talking to his friends. He eventually finished with his friends and served the guy behind me. At this stage I just went back to my seat. Dinner was served and the food was great. We finished dinner and my wife wanted a hot drink with trifle but when I tried to order it guess what it wasn't available. So we just finished our food and left. Disappointing as the boathouse looked fantastic just a word of advice keep your customers happy.

Waited 10 minutes to be spoken to at the bar and was then told drinks were reservation only despite there being 20 free tables outside. Bit pretentious. Manager flippantly said ‘it’s Mother’s Day guys what do you expect’.

I was there with my friend on Saturday evening and we were served by a lovely young lady by the name of Hannah. Found her to be very friendly and accommodating and helpful. I would come again and hope to be served by her.

SHOCKING! Booked a table for lunch today and when we were seated by the manager Matt / Mark, he failed to mention there was a 45 minute wait for food ( on a Wednesday lunch time) When we questioned this (as the restaurant wasn’t even very busy) we were told by a very unbothered, couldn’t have cared less if he tried, manager- he just stood and shrugged his shoulders. There were 3 other table occupied in the restaurant with no more than four on a table. What is the point of a table reservation when you are having to wait that long.

Stopped in for a Friday afternoon bottle of Prosecco in the sun. Nice view, great outdoors area.

Disgusting food, disgusting customer service, especialy from the girl with earing in her nose. She dared to say to my friends boy that hes gonna die because hes got some food intolerances, then few seconds later she also said that she cant take plates from table cos shes busy and she will come back when she can. Steak was terrible probably from few days earlier leftovers. Pork ribs even worse.. but its probably normal when owners dont care whats going on in the premises.

We were a group of 4, 2 x ordered the Roast's and x2 ordered burgers. The food was amazing!! The menu looked great so there was lots to choose from, looking forward to coming back to try the other things on the menu.

I went to book online for the restaurant and saw there was plenty of times available so thought we’d just go on down when we were ready . The restaurant was empty but the bar was full and I was told there were no bookings left for the restaurant? Anyway, we sat in the bar instead where we had to go up and order food… at this point I actually felt sorry for the staff as they were obviously very understaffed and running around like crazy. It took a good 20 minutes before I was served which again was annoying but no dramas. Once seated it took absolutely ages for our food to come. I had three children with me so as you can imagine they were becoming very impatient once 45 minutes had passed. In all I think we had our mains after an hour had gone by. The kids pizzas were cheap microwaveable ones and the beans microwaved dry. I got a very annoyed look from the waitress when I asked for salt as there was none on our table. My food was really yummy, until I got half way through my mash and pulled a huge brown hair out of my mouth. I said to my daughter let’s hope it’s one of mine (even though my hair was tight in a bun). Really not acceptable after paying £70 for food for four of us. If there were staff available I would have complained but this would have probably tipped them over the edge anyway! Really disappointing and won’t be returning.

Went mid week for my birthday. It's changed since I was last there and is a big improvement over 5-6 years ago. Food was top notch. Service was attentive and with a smile without being overbearing. Perfect. Some cask ales on.

Nice pub, you can sit outside or indoors a little bit Draughty near the doors as they’re so busy with food. They’re nice friendly customer service at the bar table service on Saturday just one girl in there,she was very good tho she was Extremely polite and makes sure our food was quicky as possible.🙏🏻

Told there was a 30 minute wait to get served a drink as they were too busy with the diners, clearly drinkers are second class citizens and not wanted.

Every time we’ve visited the boathouse we’ve received excellent service all round. Food was cooked well and the drinks were of a decent price. Staff were attentive and very friendly on all occasions we have visited. Would recommend.

I would like to say that the manager Victor and his team of staff are first class in our opinion. They are always friendly, have a smile on their faces and are good for a laugh. Nothing is too much trouble for them. On a last note after a few weeks grounded due to an operation I was delighted to see on my return that he had kept Abbott on tap for me (my medicine) 😂

I went here woth my partner and we both like it here. It's cosy and the staff were nice. We think it's a bit over priced for what it is, but apart from that the food is nice and it's in a good location. we've been here twice now

My friend and I had a midweek lunch from the lunch menu. My steak sandwich was perfectly fine though the steak was slightly overdone and not very hot. The mini desert of chocolate brownie was delicious and the portion size was perfect. We were served by Hannah who was friendly, efficient and extremely helpful in enabling us to locate our discount apps!

Mostly went for evening walks and then stopped by for tea and wines 🍾

We had a very good family lunch here today, it is nicely decorated, staff friendly and food good. There was a very nice atmosphere and will definitely return when in the area.

We had a lovely Tuesday evening in the Boathouse sharing a bottle of wine.It is a cosy place to spend a winter evening and the staff are always welcoming. Hannah made a special effort to be friendly and to make us feel like valued costumers. I would recommend it to anyone!

Great quality food, good prices. Nice family place. Beautiful inside since they redecorated and great new staff. Excellent service highly recommended.

Really disappointed. We came to get a drink and pudding after a Sunday walk with our baby. It was not busy and there were staff standing about. We ordered our drinks first with one waitress, who fetched another waitress to take our food order, whilst she "goes and grabs our drinks". Within 5 minutes our desserts turned up, and they were good. My husband and I ate them separately as we were taking it in turns to hold the baby, and they were hot desserts too. Our drinks never showed. It got to 30 minutes after ordering and we were ready to go at this point, the waitress that brought our desserts was very apologetic about our drinks not showing when we went to pay the bi. However the one who took our drinks order came over and asked if we wanted our drinks as she was "just bringing them". It was a coffee and a J2O, so nothing complicated. When we said no, we had cancelled them as we had somewhere to be, she rolled her eyes and walked off. No apology given and was incredible rude.
