Always had a good meal, service and a nice time. Very comfortable, lovely location and accessible for all. Prices are fair and car parking inclusive. Been many times and I cannot fault the boathouse.

We had our engagement party at the boathouse - the staff were very accommodating and serviced all our needs. The food was delicious and plentiful, and they gave us an area just for us. They made a massive effort to make sure our party was special!!

Delicious food, friendly staff, fantastic family

We came in for a relaxing family meal for our daughters 7th birthday, 2 adults, 3 kids and a puppy. Atmosphere was calm cosy and inviting, they had dog food bowls , water bowls and treats, very welcoming vibe. Tasha one of our waitress' was fab with the kids recognising the characters on 1 of our daughters tops making her feel noticed, our birthday girl was given a lovely card from the staff which wad really sweet, the young male seated us, took our mains order and drinks was friendly funny and helpful but I didn't ask his name. Well done to the team, it made our hectic family meal much more stress free. And food was fantastic and good price as we were all stuffed. Really recommend 👌

We booked a breakfast table for a party of 5 and were looked after by Tasha who was exceptionally polite and efficient, despite being the only member of staff serving guests. We haven't visited since recent refurbishments and found the overall atmosphere really pleasant. The food was good, although half a slice of toast with the plant-based breakfast seemed a bit stingy and a couple of the dishes weren't very warm, but overall, it tasted and looked good , we enjoyed it and would try again..

Well... it's rare I give reviews, but this was so good, I felt I have to. Got greeted by Hannah, our server, as soon as we walked in and guided to a nice table in the corner by a window overlooking the beautifully lit outside deck area. Hannah was professional, but warm and amiable and every interaction was appreciated, even when she felt she had to ask my partner for age identification, it was done with politeness and no hint of rudeness or embarrassment. Michael and Norton, although we didn't see them as they were slaving away in the kitchen, provided us with some of the best food either of us have ever eaten. I cannot recommend enough how you should try this place. We will definitely return. Prices were as expected for the quality of the food and service. Around £30 a head, but worth every penny.

Victor and Fabian were great and attentive. Food was great and all 6 of us had a fabulous evening. The only thing I would say when you ask on the website at time of booking is there a special occasion and the answer is yes this should be acknowledged or not ask the question. Great evening thank you.

A pleasant pub with a warm ambience and a decent Sunday roast. Rather busy when we visited, mid afternoon on a sunny autumn Sunday so service was a little slow.

Food is a little average but nothing to complain about. Just your classic slap up pub grub. However the setting is nice and the staff are lovely.. Hannah was so warm and friendly whilst looking after us. Would happily come back !

Friendly restaurant and staff. Fast service and didn't have to wait long at all for food at all. The seasonal menu is phenomenal. Some of the best food I have had. The pork belly bites melt in your mouth and are complimented perfectly with a tangy pickle. The other highlight was the creme burlee French toast. Hands down the best dessert I have ever had.

Firstly this review in no way a criticism of the young lady who served us . She was very attentive and apologetic My wife and I arrived at the newly refurbished Boathouse and , as we usually do , had already decided on what we would have. However, once we got the ‘Specials’ menu we saw the Toad in the Hole ‘ Cumberland sausages in a Traditonal yorkshire pudding with Bubble and Squeak mash and Red wine gravy ‘ we both decided on that . Once it arrived we were somewhat shocked at how small the skillet pan the yorkshire pudding came in . However, the real issue was not only was the Yorkshire undercooked it was welded to the pan and had barely risen ! There was pratically nothing to eat . The 3 sausages were good as was the gravy but the fist sized bubble and squeak wasn’t bubble and squeak as I know it- just mash with leek and cabbage ( very small amount ) in it. We did complain but were offered free drinks which we didnt want. The cost of this meal was £17.49 each . Not good at all and we wont return . We have had issues before at the Boathouse with very slow service ( once waiting an hour + for desert ) but the food has always been good. Unfortunately, not anymore ****So i was contacted by the owner after posting my review asking me to email him so ‘he could better understand what went wrong’ This I did and had an email back apologising and offering us a ‘Meal on the house’ . Which I thought was a generous offer and we gladly accepted. I emailed back with a suitable date and waited and waited and waited . Nothing - so i emailed again and again no reply. So i emailed again and still nothing . I honestly do not know what to say . I dont want a free meal now only a refund of my £35 meal will do.

Lunch and a drink. Staff are really lovely but the food was just OK. The duo of chicken was tough and over cooked.

I attended an engagement party . An area was set aside in the building where food was laid out but there was also access to the outdoor seating area.

Mollie was a wonderful waitress that really cares about the customers you have in the restaurant/bar , she was very warm and friendly and super helpful . First class service. Food was awesome I had a lovely meal and will return when I stay in Peterborough again. Sticky toffee pudding was fantastic.

What a dreadful place, empty, cold and uninviting. Staff just couldn't care less. Sat a while and decided to leave never to return.

The manager is wonderful here, very polite and efficient. The food is delicious and well presented, and the garden overlooking the lake is absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend this place.... also its 2 for £20 😜

Staff were great but cannot say the same about the food portions or quality. Meat was probably the nicest, juiciest and most tender meat I've eaten, vegetable portions were very poor - example - 1 'piece of Parsnip, soggy brocoli, mash wasn't fantastic and the yorkie was soggy; there was no more veg apart from a bit of cabbage and swede. Stingy with the stuffing and practically had a fight with the stuffing as it was like a rubber ball. Ordered a coke each and the glasses were filthy, I couldn't even wipe the filth off them with a napkin as it just rubbed the dirt around!

Lovely location for a restaurant and beautiful layout and decoration. The food was delicious but very standard menu with British classics. We had a starter of pork belly bites between us, and for mains we had the toad in the hole, fish and chips, and pan fried sea bass. All lovely meals however I must say the Yorkshire pudding was lacking in the toad in the hole. The bartenders were nice but could definitely do with expanding their knowledge of pairings, as I asked for a recommendation of gin and tonic and they weren’t incredibly helpful. Otherwise a lovely evening out for dinner

Popped in for lunch late afternoon today, we were greeted by Hannah who was lovely and served us drinks, we came inside and sat to order food, Fabian came to our table with a smile and politely took our order and promptly returned with our drinks, swiftly followed by our food which was cooked to perfection by Nick, Mike and Norton. Will be returning 😁

Had a lunchtime meal with my family here today, had the signature burger and a rosè to go with it, amazing food, amazing and very fast service and lovely atmosphere for a restaurant. Molly, Fab and Hannah all served us at different points, and they were all lovely and keen to serve us. Will definitely be back!

Long wait at bar initially. Didn't know which wines sweet or dry. Food quite good. Steak not as ordered though. Given wrong wine at table. Hot chocolate wasn't hot, had to be replaced, taken off bill. When it was time to leave was told to do so in a very rude manner (as were a large party of people) even though we had spent £240. Great refurb but staff are 'can't be arsed'. Such a shame

A very welcoming atmosphere, driven by the wonderful energy of the staff. Big shout-out to Molly, Tash and Dan who provided a lot more than smiles but recommendations of beverages and their hearty, soul filling meals. 5 stars all round however one less due the the portion size (but I eat for a small family), so if you're a normal person, this will satisfy on all levels! Loved it and will be returning again in future.

STAY AWAY unless you want to pay £60 for parking. Complete scam. Carefully placed signs and tablet not visible at the bar to key in registration, means the first you'll know os when the £60 demand drops on the doormat. Even blue badge holders!

The food and atmosphere was amazing and Arvindar’s service was second to none. She even remembered us when we came back for a second night (that’s how good it was).

Lovely place. Although the website says dog friendly, it didn't seem to specify if there was a specific part that dogs could be in. We had booked a table for food and when we arrived were told that dogs were only allowed at the bar. Our booking was essentially useless then as we just had to wait for a free table in the bar area to become available. We had tried calling the pub earlier on to double check where we could sit with the dogs but could not get through to a person. Luckily it didn't taint our experience, people were lovely and gave us water for the dogs and the food was very food!

Food was good but I feel there wasn't enough food on my plate for the price I paid Service was as you would expect it to be Nice pub and decor Parking isn't amazing but there was other var parks adjecent to the pub .

Excellent Sunday roast on a Sunday afternoon. Food was delicious and Funad was really welcoming at the bar outside. Amazing river views and chilling atmosphere. Will definitely be back again.

Booked in for a Sunday lunch. My wife's meal was veggie and she enjoyed it. When we put the order in I picked the 3 meat version but I said I didn't want pork so expected 2 slices of turkey and 1 of beef or vice versa. I ended up with 1 slice of turkey and 1 very fatty extremely thin slice of beef which was inedible, also a big piece of pork crackling across the top. needless to say I did not enjoy my meal at all. When we spoke to the manager he kept us waiting in the end we had to go and find him and he did not charge for my meal but did for my wife's, plus our 1 drink each Its a nice place maybe it was just a bad day and I was unlucky When someone says no pork it's for a reason!

What a lovely place! Haven't been before, the decor is gorgeous and the outside eating area is wonderful. Had the vegan coronation chickpea sandwich, it was delicious. Will def go again.

We have just visited the Boathouse restaurant Peterborough for a late lunch. We ordered 2 starters 2 mains plus deserts and coffee all of which I have to say was - absolutely superb. Our compliments go to Danny’s team - Tyler,Steve Norton & waiting staff, their hospitality and professionalism was excellent through out our visit . WELL DONE Keep it up we will definitely be back , a definite 5 stars from us. Richard & Nicki

Lovely restaurant, we were celebrating the end of GCSEs and the staff managed to fit 9 of us in, food was lovely, we had burgers which were lovely. The views from the outside seating area are fantastic. Will definitely revisit.

Very impressed with this pub. I definitely recommend the meals there. You really do get a lot for your money. Staff were kind and helpful and the general aesthetic of the pub was pleasing.

4 of us visited today at 1pm for our mother’s 81st birthday. We decided to sit in the garden area, all I can say is,Service , friendliness of the staff and the food was absolutely outstanding, Will definitely visit again.

Visited here on 22nd August 2024 for friends wake. There was a young lady behind the bar (Hannah) she was composed and professional. Whilst a guinness was settling she served someone else keeping the queue moving. Very polite and friendly staff. I passee my praise to Danny assistant manager and he was very happy to hear. The other staff I saw were smart, polite, friendly and very good. We will return for a more happy occasion. I gave 4 out of5stars because the ramp to pavement is too high and the path to the door is undulating and my wheelchair found it awkward but over all a lovely clean place.

Lovely pub but was let down by a number of things. Firstly they didn’t have any apple juice for my daughter. Her meal was missing cucumber. My Sunday dinner was missing pigs in blankets, also frozen cheap roast potatoes when they should have been garlic and rosemary duck fat potatoes. My daughter’s dessert was missing a number of items. All these things were stated on the menu so shouldn’t have been missed. They took over half an hour to bring out our desserts and the pub was empty. It’s not a cheap meal so these things should not of been missed.

Just stopped by for a cold drink & light lunch. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, and it was busy. Have to say it was lovely, slight mess up with our order but was rectified immediately with politeness, location lovely next to the river. We sat under an umbrella and watched the world go by for an hour or two. The staff were very much on their game we saw them keeping an eye on everything. Well done definitely 5 stars from us

Not value for money anymore!! I’ve eaten and drank here on many occasions where the food, service and drinks have been very good. Can’t fault the decor and atmosphere but there is definitely a decline in the food quality, quantity and service. My plate of food (scampi and chips) looked like a child’s portion. Gaps on the plate with the smallest portion of chips I’d ever seen or been served in a restaurant. I was still hungry when I left. And the wine is now measured. I understand for spirits but not for wine. Very disappointing. Service really slow too. Not sure if under new management but certainly not the same before the refurbishment. On a positive the outside looks lovely. Won’t be eating or ordering wine from here again though. Very disappointing.

Burger was dry I think it had been microwaved as it was also rock hard. Served with a handful of shrivelled chips. Not good . Complained politely and discreetly to waitress she said she would let the kitchen know.... no dinner no refund offered..

Visited for breakfast this morning , I have been a couple of times and I am always greated by Becky with a gorgeous smile! Today Becky and Sarah went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable! Thank you ladies and I will be back soon!

Located on the edge of the Nene and the rowing lake, it's a perfect location for a walk before returning for a meal, offering one of the best outside seating areas in the area, good food and beer dog friendly and welcoming staff 👍

Wow! What a contrast. The Boat House has seriously upped its game. The garden refurb is transformational, the food and level of service is exceptional. Fuhad is a real asset to the team, every customer he served at the bar left with a smile on their face. Legend! Keep up the great work.

Celebrating a friend's birthday. Service was fairly slow. Food was average. I had a three meat Sunday roast and asked for a side of cauliflower cheese, which, when arrived, was an interesting colour of grey, very odd and not at all appetizing to look at, needless to say it got left. Prices are very high. In another green king pub which I frequent, a bottle of pebble bay white zinfandel is about 17 pound, here it was £21.99, again needless to say it wasn't purchased. Overall it was just okay 🙁
