Came here on a Sunday afternoon lovely food and the 2 ladies behind the bar are so friendly and helpful!

Served with wet napkins to boot.

A warm welcome by very helpful staff. No problem in sorting out my wife's meal to accommodate her dietary needs. Food was quite quick arriving and nice and hot. Thoroughly enjoy our meal. Filling & tasty. Definitely be coming back.

10 of us went for Sunday Lunch yesterday, first time. Very impressed. The staff were lovely and efficient, quick service catering for our fussy needs! Most of us had a roast which was gorgeous and nobody could fault the food which was not expensive. We will definitely make return visits. Thank you. - Joy - Peterborough u3a

The pub was clean and tidy. Staff very helpful. Ordering of food was an easy process. Food was tasty and cooked to our requirements. Will definitely eat there again.

Went for a birthday meal with the family. The staff were very friendly and service was very good. Unfortunately the food did not live upto the same standard. The burgers were overcooked along with the rolls. The meat whether it was hinters chicken, surf and turf or mixed grill was very very dry. However the deserts were very nice.

Excellent roast beef dinner. Good portions too. Excellent bar staff.

Seemed to be very short of staff. The guy who took our order was multi talking ( very well it must be said) but an extra pair of hands wouldn't have gone amiss. Food was OK 👍.

Although I have not had the best experience today, I would like to thank Anne Marie who helped two young girls when they were frightened of a man who was following them, plus in of the locals that went out to look for him

I would have given you 5 stars, however I found it very unnecessary and inconvenient that I had to pay for our drinks first before sitting at our table to order food.and then had to pay again for our meals. I also asked if you had sky sports and to my surprise you didn’t. I may have to reconsider going else where even though your walking distance.

Very good venue we had a lovely Sunday lunch staff very friendly. Used our 30% voucher received through the post excellent value, recommend.

The food and service were excellent, would totally recommend. Also dog friendly. Very reasonable prices. We went three times while here on holiday.

We love going to the Applecart for family meals. We’ve had family birthdays and many happy Christmas dinners here. Katie and her team are fantastic. The Applecart has a great welcoming atmosphere and the food is tasty. Lots of happy memories being with family here and lots more to make. Great all round family pub!

Just want to say. Apple cart's service has always been good but today was exceptional. We ordered our meals and then got a call that our son had a serious accident at school. We apologised but had to cancel our food only to be offered it as a take away. Unbelievable service in difficult times. I'd like to pass on my most appreciated thanks to the bar staff and the chefs. . Had the gammon it was very tender and juicy. Two main meals and two drinks £42...loads of free parking and a nice outside area too....had to say a bit disappointed from previous visits...no table service now ,order at the bar,the nice personal friendly service has gone...no drinks menu,be careful as charged £8.50 for a glass of wine!!!!.if was a menu would have maybe brought a bottle or had something else.....used the 30% voucher...one voucher a visit,not one per meal....had the beef and ale pie, delicious... have to say the food is really good and chips and the best...sort the service out guys it will make a huge difference

Great experience this afternoon. Surprised the guys behind the bar by walking in with 11 people for dinner. We were accommodated with no fuss, and served quickly. Food was lovely, and the staff here couldn’t have been more helpful. Even with our extra little ‘special request’. Absolutely top class service, would recommend!

Great little place to eat and have a drink.

We went along to watch lounge lizards. We booked a table to have some food before hand. They were so very helpful and swapped my peas and things for salad no questions asked. Food was really good so was the puddings. Staff was so friendly we will definitely visit again

Went here for lunch today and by the time someone came over to take our order us had just gone 3pm which is the end of the lunchtime menu. They then said they couldn’t offer the food I wanted due to this. Slow service. Ordered something else and the portion size of the beans was about a mouthful and a half - I asked for more and they tried charging me again! They finally brought out a bowl of beans free of charge but still tiny portion. I have had better experiences at other marstons restaurants. I won’t be returning.

We popped in for a quick meal after a very busy day of meetings. The service was brilliant and food great.

We were searching for a great pub meal outside of the city and went to Apple Cart on a recommendation. The menu is limited, and we were disappointed that they did not serve several popular dishes such as bangers & mash and shepherd pie. My guests were from the United States, and they wanted to eat some local cuisine. Not a place I would recommend for visitors from abroad.

Never have a problem. Staff were lovely as always and meals were hot and did not take long to arrive. Looking forward to our next visit.

This was our first visit and won't be our last. The staff made it fabulous but the food was also outstanding. Worth travelling from Scotland to visit.

Not impressed, went today for partner's mum's birthday & ordered the beef Sunday roast, what beef? Very disappointed with 2 very small slices one of which being full of gristle, ok if you're a vegetarian & like plenty of potato, will not be back as we travelled over 50 miles for this meal. Also bar staff very rude & abrupt when partner ordered a glass of wine!

Good hot food, swift service and friendly team, great fun quiz. Portion size needs to be addressed, as £3.00 to add chips to a lasagne meal and getting just a handful of chips is not good value, when raised to waiter he stated it's the size of the scoop. Not good customer service. But will return as quiz is fun.

I was served my food today by Amber she was very polite and helped with any questions we had. At the bar I was served by Connor who looked very presentable and was great with allergen information he informed me that Jamie was the chef and that he would be extremely careful and clean making my food. The food was excellent and have never come to a pub and enjoyed my meal as much as today.

Debbie and the team are always friendly and welcoming, they have got to know us well. Food is always well served and change the menu regularly

Dropped in for lunch today - first time at The Applecart. It had quite a few tables covered but it is large enough that there were still plenty of tables free. Good pint of Guinness- always good for a star. The staff were pleasant and friendly and picked up the pace as it got busier. We could hear orders ding placed at the bar and every customer was asked about allergies- well done. I had the mixed grill and my wife the surf and turf. Both were very good with a special mention of the steak on both plates - sometimes real tatty bits of steak on mixed plates but these were excellent. Overall it was one of the best lunches we’ve had in some time. We will be back.

Good pub food, easy parking. App to order on table didn't work. Staff not easy to find when quiet. Large interior. Lots of theme nights. Calm atmosphere.

The table we booked should have had 7 seats but only had 4 when we arrived. We received an email from Marston's marketing list which gave us 30% off mains with no mention of restrictions, but the girl at the bar pulled out a different set of conditions from behind the bar which said excluding England days. The email was sent this week, which would mean the marketing team would clearly be aware of the Euros being on and should have put it in the conditions in the email. The get out of "we reserve the right to end the offer" would be an underhand way to enforce this and quite frankly has put me off coming for the final. To top it off, it was £4 for a pepsi max! Other than that the food was nice, but with everything combined not a great impression left.

Nice food today. The club sandwich is really good value. It's changed a bit since I was last here. Table service no longer exists and the specials board has gone. There are some nice dishes on the menu's to choose from though. Staff were very pleasant.

Had booked a table so was forced to queue for as a single person served at the bar (approx 5 people in front of me ordering drinks) only to be told to pick a table. Several tables were not able to be used as they had not be cleaned. After sitting at a table, I attempted to order via the app ( the bar was still queued) only to find I had no table number, so I ordered using the table next to us. On attempting to order, it was clear that many of the items were not on it (mixed grill etc) so we were forced to change orders. Food was delivered before the drinks (5-8 minutes) with the drinks ariiving shortly after, we then asked for two side plates for the main sharing wings bowl (are we expected to both eat hot wings from the single bowl?) Overall quite disapointing.

Good local pub, service was great from Amber and the crew. Drinks a little pricey for Marston's, but not unduly so.

Went to watch England in the euros with the boys & we were looking for somewhere with great food, decently priced beers, & above all a great atmosphere where we could see the game & enjoy a nice evening out. Well The Apple Cart absolutely ticked all the boxes on this one! Quick & efficient service from ultra-friendly staff (despite how busy the place was) a good selection of beers & ales, & the food lasted even less time than England`s lead did!!! I`d recommend a visit to anyone for a meal, even when there`s no games on. We`ll be back for sure, & let`s hope for a better performance & result to match everything else next time!

To be fair my food was ok, my wifes Chicken kebab with Piri Piri sauce however was cold, food returned apology received, we were advised it would be cooked fresh. Sadly i had finished my meal by the time my wifes came out, Chicken kebab with Mayonnaise, not the Piri Piri that was ordered. Having complained again my wife was given a pot of piri piri and left with a kebab smothered in Mayonnaise. Most of my wifes meal was left and we left. 3 other tables round us had ordered food, 2 tables had sent there food back (1 table complained 3 times), to be fair 1 table had not complained about their food, though when we left they were still waiting for it. We will not return, but please make up your own mind

Awful experience. Wont be returning anytime soon. If your chef sends out cold chicken he/she shouldnt be working in a kitchen !! Fact !!

We were seated in a quieter part of the restaurant which suited us with two young children. Discount was applied at till as it should have been. Our food took a little of half an hour to arrive but it was very busy inside the restaurant. Our food was hot and they had accommodated any change we'd requested. All staff were polite and asked if there was anything more we needed. There was a child's disco on which couldn't be heard in the main restaurant but was really well organised and enjoyable as we approached after our meal.

The Apple Cart is an outstanding establishment and cannot be faulted. The food, the service and the cost of the food are all exemplary. My only complaint is the elevated cost of the drinks.

The meals came out quite quickly and hot good service with polite staff AND with a smile. However when ordering a nice stack it would be nice to add afew more mushrooms and not just half of one cut up.

Table of 4, reserved the table, very quiet for a Bank Holiday and no-one checked, so felt it was a waste of time booking. Some of the chips were cool, but rest of food was OK.

Lively atmosphere, great food and selection of beer. The staff is welcoming. Easy to park and find a spot. Seats available outside and dog friendly.

My wife and I visited the Apple Cart on Saturday 27 April 2024. We had the most enjoyable meals and desserts. Everything was done for us by Katie at Peterborough Cardea. She was wonderful. She was very cheerful and polite to us. Thank you to Katie

Went there today with family for grandaughter birthday lot food cold my wife chicken had paper stuck to bottom told them never came back garlic bread burnt cold

As usual the staff are welcoming and attentive. I had pre-booked a table for 2, ordered drinks and sat at our table to chat and choose our meals. The process of ordering is quick and easy, obviously this is dependent on how busy the pub is. My companions meal was fine, I ordered the Hunters chicken which I had eaten several times before at The Applecart, I did find on this occasion the chicken was unusually dry, but not enough of an issue to cause a complaint, although I did mention this to the chap that cleared our table. On the whole though, a pleasant environment to socialise and eat.

The choice of menu was good, the atmosphere was pretty good too. One of our party ordered from the "Specials" on the board but it was unavailable, which was disappointing, but the food was served reasonably quickly and was all that you would expect of "pub grub", ie tasty and reasonably priced.
