Basic pub food. Only keg lagers/beers. Coffee abysmal. Not enough staff so expect long waits to get served. A nice location with a view down the rowing lake. A seal or two sometimes in residence in the lake or adjacent river basin.

Lovely place to sit and look out at the biasing lake, but the food was honestly some of the worst I have ever had. The vegetables had obviously been microwaved from frozen and were tough and inedible. The gammon was just bacon. The hassleback potatoes had not been roasted, they had been microwaved. When we pointed out how inedible the food was, no effort was made to rectify it or provide a refund

OK pub..never sure about a pub that has a coded toilet door...I'm assuming it's to keep out certain clients??

Awful customer service. The Asian behind the bar at the end of night had a very fights character, I will not visit again because this attitude is incorrect. The staff on the night do not represent good values. It's a shame because the people who care at this business are being robbed.

Slight let down, the location is spot on the the staff and food are just not all that good... The veg my family got was ice cold, my burger was dry and boring, the salad may or may not have been 5 or 6 leaves from the garden... All the outside tables were dirty and loaded with used glasses/plates which were being blown over and smashing near the kids playground... Super potential, just lazy execution. By the sound of things, the. Ajority of customers were just overflow from next door 😬

Thought location was nice for a breakfast. True, looking over lake was lovely but a cold awful soggy black scrambled eggs fatty awful bacon and the rest of food similar was intolerable. Complained to reception and they did apologize but our time was already ruined. Won't be back and recommend you avoid. Think people already do as we were the only customers.

Nice position, sitting outside overlooking the rowing lake was pleasant. Coffee & cake deal was good value. Only negative was trying to find staff to serve us. Sat outside for 10 mins and saw no-one so had to go inside and then eventually someone came out from behind the bar. Assume they're short staffed.

Didn't realise this was the name but it's based in The Dragonfly Hotel. Booked as a table of 6 and enjoyed a good night out. Lovely Gin and Tonics served in a proper glass with lots of choice of beers. The bar was nice to sit in and enjoy a first drink. Restaurant was quiet but meant that the service was excellent! I had a starters of the halloumi fries which was great and my main meal of curry was also enjoyable. Ribs looked good also. Average cost of a meal and better than next door for decor, service and food. You have to put your reg in when you get there for parking as it can get fined. Overall really enjoyed my meal out.

Love the woodman but disappointed I can never have a hot drink as they don’t have non dairy milk. I was offered semi-skimmed! Not great if you’re lactose intolerant.

Very good pub, food was ok. Received good service from one of the gentlemen, however I found the lady staff to be snobbish and pretended not to see us hence waited for over 30 minutes before being served at the counter .

Four of us ate here in the restaurant. Starters wild mushrooms in cream/garlic on bread. Mains - gammon, braised beef, pork belly and fish and chips. Desserts apple and rhubarb crumble. The service was excellent and food hot and tasty. Excellent portions and well priced. Only one suggestion- the crumble top needed cooking/browning more. it was pale and tasted floury. Also be nice to have some background music as only a couple of tables occupied.
