Dinner for 6 of us last night. The food was good, you won't get better value than the set menu deals. My steak was cooked to perfection. Everything we received was fresh and well presented. You cannot go wrong with the chocolate brownie! The 2 bar staff were brilliant. Friendly, efficient, attentive and constantly busy; whether it be serving customers or cleaning tables.

Standard pub with wide selection of beers and food available which were reasonably priced

Pub is improving . The food was exceptional . Beer was ok. I would definitely come back every day , sometimes with my wife

Used to come here for Sunday lunch a couple of months ago and it was really good but came here after refurbishment and i don't know what they've done to the Sunday roast dinner but it was horrible where's the beef gone and sliced chicken which used to be so good now replaced with dry tough chicken with bones and the vegetables were horrendous what's happened to the lovely roast dinner we used to get won't be going there again

Having come to our local for the past 3 years disgraceful customer service received. Tge barman was rude aggressive and totally not suitable for a hospitality job.

The food has improved massively. It's more expensive now than it used to but it's worth it.

What happened to the menu? Totally disappointed. I fully understand trying to claw back some money on the dodgy refurbishment but seriously, hunters chicken is now a breaded piece of chicken with cheese and bacon on top. Chicken, bacon, avocado salad is awful, two small strips of chicken, two thumb nail pieces of avocado and fatty rind of bacon. Onion rings dont exist anymore, they are onion fries, supposerly, bits of onion, deep fried and dripping in dirty grease. Spoke to staff who agreed, menu has changed and have had alot of complaints. Was honestly a regular in their but not anymore. Staff are lovely and was honestly embarrassed ut not surprised when I spoke to them about my concerns. You really need to look at this as you will loose alot of custom

Went to the newly refurbished Plume and Feathers today, for a drink and roast to say I'm disgusted with the roast that where served to us ...! I was too embarrassed to complain the chicken leg and 3 small potatoes and little piece of veg....I will not be going back. I used to really like the pub. I have tried to telephone the plume twice also left a message no reply from them??

Food terrible..wouldn't bring out the birthday cake I bought with me and that was requested in the booking. I was handed it back in the bag. Won't go again.

Sadly everytime we come here they have run out of either gammon or mixed grill and certain beers. Surely if you are running out of food and beer items it means you are not ordering enough. A business can only sell what they have in stock. Would come over more as only local, but to go to the bar to order food and be told we have run out of that item is not condusive of encouraging regular business and recommendation. Thanks to management for response. Look forward to visiting again after refurbishment.

The visit was for my birthday and although we often visit I had looked at all the pub restaurants within a 5 mile or so radius and was impressed with menus so came back to the Plume as the selection and quality of food is great

Went for breakfast, after a long walk. I arrive at 10.40. Food only artive arround 10 past 11. I was I think the only person there so it was not busy . The girls were nice and they apologised for the delay. Coffe was really good . The food was bad. I had an English breakfast. The tomato undercooked and cold, the egs cold, the mushroom cold . Beans were just a spoon on the middle of the plate. Sausages and bacon were done nice and surprisingly hot. The hash brown was quite cold and undercook. Per total, it's not really a nice experience.

Popped in for lunch. After ordering food, we waited for 40 mins and had to go to the bar to ask how much longer it would be. Within a minute, the food came out after the bar person went into the kitchen. All three dishes were luke warm. I couldn't be bothered to say anything as we were all hungry. The pub was really cold, it didn't seem to have any heating on. Won't be rushing back, I'm afraid.

Booked a table here to have lunch after a dog walk nearby. Everything good and typical pub menu, all well cooked and reasonably priced.

Actually there was nothing great about it, the food wasn’t very good, the table wasn’t cleared in the 3 hours we were there, we were having to clear the tables ourselves. On the whole it was a really disappointing experience.

Absolute dump of a place , filthy, grimy , cob webs every where tables not cleared even knowing wasnt busy, drink glasses dirty , went to the toilet and decided was time to leave, toilets broke , flooded, needs maintenance and cleaning bad , and to top it all off , staff then nibbled at a plate of food which other dinners left . Ember inns should be ashamed of this place

The service is good but the pub is in dire need of refurbishment. Stones missing from the entrance stairs, broken windows, tatty carpet and threadbare chairs just some indication of the state of the pub. Won't be rushing back.

Decent food at a very good price, very friendly and helpful staff. It was not very busy on a Tuesday lunchtime but the customers seemed to be enjoying themselves.

I went here with my mate before Christmas and we ordered sirloin steaks and I have to say it was amazing. Very juicy and succulent. I had to call for the chef. Very polite man named Alex. Will definitely be coming here again. Might bring my work colleagues as well👍🏽

I stopped by this delightful establishment with my husband recently. The atmosphere was lovely and we were made to feel like family instead of customers. The food was divine with generous portion sizes. Alex our server made our evening special, he is a lovely warm, friendly man and a talented chef. We will certainly be stopping by again soon.

Prior to yesterday 7th January 24 it was about 2 months ago I and family members ate at The Plume Of Feathers and at that time the food served was excellent. I don't know what went wrong yesterday but apart from the staff being friendly not too much else good to say, pretty low temperatures in the property making it quite uncomfortable, 6 meals for adults ordered 2 arrived and to be fair they were good but they had been eaten by the time the remaining 4 meals arrived. Several meals had certain elements that were not hot enough by some measure. Very disappointed, will go again hopefully it was blip but no more chances after that if it's not good. My spend figure doesn't include drinks.

Coming in on Thursday for quiz … excellent service and good food … nice selection of beers … makes for good evenings

Food was ok but by the look of these cobwebs it doesn't get a deep clean very often! The pub is in need of refurbishment, very shabby ripped seating also slightly off putting.

Was very hungry after long day's work. Called in, got table, lemons and straws from previous customers remained on table throughout my sitting and were still there on my exit. Wings burnt, no staff checking in Decided to forgive this as place was lively with a quiz perhaps chef tired? "Ultimate burger" Burnt chips, Burger dry, miserable again nobody taking initiative to take feedback everything "through an app". Atmosphere seemed nice Wish I read the reviews before wasting my money The smashed window glass in the door suggests there is a bigger issue

We ordered and paid at the bar big mistake most of the table's hadn't been cleared . Place is a tip in need of refurbishment food was cold and had to be sent back to be reheated won't be going there again.

What a lunch. Family visit with quick lunch. Speedy service no waiting time. I ordered from fixed price menu. The fish was lovely and my partner ordered BLT sandwich. Was lovely as well with very great price. Defo back soon.

Booked a table for 14 on a Thursday evening, table was set up when we arrived food order taken everything was avaliable. Food arrived quickly and was all good. Staff did a great job in managing a large group order. Just knocked one point off due to lack of ale choices which does seem a recurring problem at the Plume as we do visit fairly often. As we did go on a Thursday the quiz was underway as we where leaving, we will return to have a go at that (Although at least 2 tables where Googling the answers) Thank you for a nice evening

Mains took an hour and they were too busy to cook pudding. There was no one in there. Stay away.I’ve never waited that long for pub grub. They offered people on the next table to us a pudding and when I asked why we couldn’t have one, they said the only reason those people could have pudding was because they complained about their meal.Don’t go near the place

I can't state strongly enough how impressed I am with this pub. Good food and beer, and friendly staff who seem genuinely concerned with how you are.Leading from the front is their manager, Bertie. A lot of local managers seem to act as if customers are an inconvenience to be avoided at all costs. Busy service, they'll be in their office justifying their bonus. Bertie is there serving and welcoming customers throughout the service. The superb staff that work with her are a credit to Ember Inns Having visited other Ember Inns pubs and found the service and welcome less than satisfactory, I think all the local managers should take a trip to the Plume Of Feathers to find out how a pub should be run.

Newer staff not so friendly. Came in for some drinks. New staff guy, young tall man, very abrupt in his manners. When going to the bar - He asks “ wot u want mate” ... no smile, no thank you The ladies here at the bar are really good though and an east European young man is very polite.

Me and a couple of my friends are trying all our local pubs to show support and see how they are coping with COVID. The Plume was the best so far. Proper professional staff, especially Bertie the MD. Pleasant, precise and so capable. Nice to see, well done. We will be back. Soon

Been here a few times recently and have always enjoyed our time, Both manager's we have met have treated us with respect and have always been polite.Very clean and very covid aware - Much better then going to the The Last Post down the road where its dirty and a covid breeding ground .Rock up and enjoy before all the former customers of The last Post book the tables

Me and a friend booked a table for 7:30 for dinner - 9:45 and we were still waiting... over 2 hours! Change of staff here post lockdown have no clue of customer service, very rude! Real shame as staff pre lockdown were great and never had any problems.

All staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was piping hot, lovely and excellent value for money. Also a good range for vegetarians. We will definitely eat here again!

It’s been a while since I’ve been in here for one reason or another, but the staff still recognised me. Made me feel proper at home. Not to mention the twighlighter ipa that was a fabulously tasty and well kept beer!

Fabulous steak. And fabulous staff. The guys behind the bar are friendly and funny and made my trip to the Plume more than just satisfying a rumbly tummy. I will definitely be back and bring my mates too as that genuine welcome and inclusion meant everything to me. I was treated with the same family vibes as the obvious regulars. Fantastic
