Back again today, at our favourite local restaurant to be superbly served by the very capable Ellice. Our food was excellent but we were disappointed that we could not take advantage of the 20% off voucher in which the small print states that I should be joined by 3 other people. Thank you to such an incredible team. It’s a shame that vintage inns company has let them down with this offer.

We always have a lovely meal at the Fish & Eels, staff are always friendly, it’s also dog friendly with treats included. Great atmosphere and lovely view of the river when the suns out! One of my favourite places to go and relax with the family.

Me and my partner are new to the area and we are so happy to have this gem on our doorstep. We were served by Will who was lovely and very helpful. The food was fantastic - I recommend the fish and chips. I will definitely be coming back!

Booked as part of a Easter Day walk, arrived an hour early and we had a drink while we waited. Were seated very quickly. Food was amazing and well worth the money, was too full to have pudding!! Our waitress Chelsea served us and was very helpful and showed great customer service, she also made a point of making sure our little pooch was ok with needing water or some treats. Would recommend very highly and would definitely go back

Lovely decor, atmosphere and staff..All the food coming out of the kitchens looked lovely. About 2yrs ago i had a dessert made to look like a flower pot deconstructed garden. I'm hoping to find it back on the menu again. We have used this pub over many years and have always been pleased with our dining experience. A lovely unrushed relaxing time.Bonus is the river view with canal boats passing by. Great trio roast. Lovely meringue pavlova.

Nat B took really good care of us. She recommended the Easter bomb pudding- worth a try, very nice! The position by the lake is perfect on a sunny day like today and the food never disappoints- the options are great, lovely salads with grilled fish or meat, traditional dishes like pies etc. Will come back again!

Kitty is a fantastic waitress. She was attentive and very helpful. We were a large table of 8, and we had a lovely secluded area, so we didn't feel worried about the noise of our children. The food was delicious and well presented.

Really Friendly Staff (Veronica), Great Atmosphere

Absolute shambles on trying to get served! I realise their priority is to serve drinks to people who are eating at a table, but they have no order in place for those who are there to just drink. I was with a friend, we had finished our first drink, I went to the bar, and had noticed that just along the bar was another gent, and next to him was a lady waiting to be served before me. These were the only two before me, so patiently waited. In meantime people had queued behind this couple (almost going out the back door to the garden!) When the 'stroppy' guy (maybe the present manager?) Told me that the queue is there (pointing to the queue that had now grown, which was not there when I went to the bar !!) I should have challenged him saying that there wasn't a queue when I approached the bar, but couldn't be bothered with an obnoxious person! Went to the Sun, far better, and served almost immediately!

The service was really good, Natalie (service staff) was very patient when I was ordering and the place is a joy to be in. I ordered a margarita pizza which was cooked really well but came with cheddar cheese instead of mozzarella that described on the menu so was a little disappointing but overall I would come definitely come again.
