The best restaurants serving British food in East of England

Flavours are good, but GF bread is tiny like mini slices compared to normal bread and they don’t give you extra for it. Should be 4 pieces instead of two due to them being half size! I asked for extra and they brought me one slice cut into 2 tiny triangles I was laughable really! Stingy…..

Great pub to watch formula 1 on a Sunday afternoon

Very welcoming and amazing food …. Indian Curries were absolutely spot on . Great pub , nice people. Thank You very much. Lots of parking behind the pub.

Gorgeous building. Apparently circa late 1500s. The pub a few doors down even older. Food was classic pub fare but really decent. I do love a good old English Market town and pub 🍻

Beyond amazing service from the owner and her staff, beer was cold, dinner delicious and desert fantastic. Come by, you won’t regret it.

Been to the fish yard Tuesday and Wednesday evening and it’s shut so I won’t be going there again

Really disappointed. Tried to rip me off by overcharging for one. Food was below average and the large haddock was a very small one with a funny smell. Sorry will not be coming back

Popped in on the off-chance of getting a gluten free meal. After checking we got a table with a menu with quite a few gf options annotated on the menu. Had battered prawns with a cajun dip which the wife enjoyed. I had the chicken skewer not gf but very nice. Staff very friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced and close to where we were staying.

Arrived with poor customer service and no greeting . Ordered the steak which apparently is 1 kg for 3 People but found out later it was 800 gms for 2 . We were a table of 3. The meat arrived as 8 thin slices and pink after waiting 45 minutes ! Sent some back and waited another 15 minutes for grey dried out steak . Service charge on the meal . No service ! The pub is overated and the meal was one of the worst we have ever eaten . Go to Flat Iron its cheaper and far better!!

We have visited the Crown and Thistle a number of times and always enjoyed it. Last night it really exceptional: all 5 of us chose different dishes and they were all absolutely delicious. We shared green beans, also fantasticly cooked to perfection. The service was superb and friendly. We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Excellent fresh and delicious food at good prices. We’re obsessed with the French toast and rainbow fritters.

Had an average meal and got completely robbed. Went with a group of three and we all got £100 parking charge on our cars. Went at night when the signs were not marked properly and no staff mentioned the parking on entry. Ultimately this company got the bill paid plus an extra £100 per head on parking fees. I am happy to amend this review if they can make it right. If your reading this now you can assume the above never happened. Be careful of this place as you could leave like me.... Feeling scammed
