The best restaurants serving British food in East of England

Nice breakfast. Not the cheapest though.

Excellent meal last night and great service.Had scotch egg starter that was amazing then s steak main also very good. Nice decor also would thoroughly recommend

How can anyone write a bad review. Proberly the best pub in town. I take my wife there once a month or so. It's vibrant, it's friendly, its sexy. Bar staff rushed of their feet, but really good at remembering drinks. I've been using the Mucky duck for over 50 years. Have a few pics on website. Bouncers do a great job. Can get overcrowded on a Friday & Saturday night as it's opened late. That means it's hard to get a drink at times as people stay at the bar. Funny thing about this pub is, it's not full of young people. It's a range of every age. Couples, singles, older generation. It's everyone . Bands are picked because they are good. Dj also. What's not to like. Hope to still be drinking in there a few more years yet. Keep up the good work guys. Bob & Penny Hemel Hempstead

Cannot thank Simon and his team enough for an 80th birthday party. It was really well organized and the food was brilliant.

Stumbled across this one after a walk. Friendly bar staff and a good selection of beers at reasonable prices. I will be coming back

Lovely warm Welcome, our table was ready when we arrived. Chicken Sunday roast was just perfect, hot, and plenty of it. I was recommended the orange Alaska dessert and was not disappointed, very tasty.

Fabulous freshly cooked fresh fish and great chips. The service was friendly and efficient

Food normally good, but twice now cold beef pie twice returned exchanged pie had to wait ages and didn't give hot chips also! Will not be using again

Visited with friends for the flrst time just before Christmas. It's a lovely old pub and our servers were friendly and welcoming. The food was nicely presented, tasty and filling. Some nice vegan options - I had the gnocchi which was plentiful and tasted really good. The salmon looked fab and apparently was delicious. I think the slightly high prices for village pub food might be offputting for some, but it wouldnt stop me from returning - plus they welcome dogs in the bar I believe which is always a thumbs up from me!

First time eating at the Silver Cup this lunchtime Fab service Olivia is great fun and really passionate about what she and her brother are doing Tasting lunch was superb Beautifully presented and great flavours For £50 a head I thought I was great value Wine flight was nice too Massive pours! Again for £35 I thought it was good value Really really enjoyable - will happily return

First time here and had a very nice evening, nice welcome and very Christmassy look and feel. Very warm and cosy feeling to the place. Staff welcomed us and Laura served us throughout, she was lovely and a real credit to you, nothing was too much trouble. Started with the crispy duck and ribs which were amazing, the table had lots of different starters and everyone said the same…. Yum. Mains went down very well too and good portion sizes, everything was hot and well presented. We was a large group and everyone was served food at same time in a timely manner. Great Food Just one illegal thing to mention to the owner Item on menu and receipt Donuts £1.50 It's plural meaning two or more donuts you are purchasing. I asked the waitress how many donuts do you get and to my shock she said one. I said that's not right as it doesn't state one donut implying a customer is buying one. It says Donuts. Out of curiosity I thought maybe the menus wrong, I purchased item anyway and even on the receipt it says Donuts £1.50 even though you only get one donut. Please for the manager, under both Trading Standards and The Trades Description Act, the item in question must be listed correctly as: One Donut £1.50. Then you're all legal and not misleading customers. Other than that the staff were nice polite and surprisingly the Vegetarian Burger is the best vegetarian burger I've ever tasted so hats off to the chef 😀

Had an average meal and got completely robbed. Went with a group of three and we all got £100 parking charge on our cars. Went at night when the signs were not marked properly and no staff mentioned the parking on entry. Ultimately this company got the bill paid plus an extra £100 per head on parking fees. I am happy to amend this review if they can make it right. If your reading this now you can assume the above never happened. Be careful of this place as you could leave like me.... Feeling scammed
