The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

My roast dinner was absolutely delicious. My daughter had sausage and chips from the child's menu, which was eagerly wolfed down. Both were perfect for a lazy Sunday when I couldn't be bothered to cook.

Nice ruralpub. Good drinks, friendly staff and very reasonable prices. Would go again if I am in the area

After having several ‘tasting menu’ experiences at various local restaurants this was by far the worst! Bright lights, no atmosphere, filthy carpet, no table linen, paper napkins, chipped crockery, dirty glasses, bland food, no-one bothered to explain courses or ask if they were enjoyed, limited wine choice and, to top it all, we were charged for something we didn’t have! Would not recommend at all, try The lighthouse at Boylestone for a proper tasting menu experience!

El Gato Humilde proporcionó el catering para el funeral de mi Padre y fueron más allá de lo esperado. Había más invitados de lo que pensábamos y Vicky trabajó tan duro para garantizar que todos fueran atendidos rápidamente y que hubiera suficiente comida. La comida era maravillosa y tuvimos muchos comentarios positivos. Muchas gracias - recomendaríamos Vicky y Humble Cat equipo para cualquier necesidad de catering.

Been here a few times with the missus, always excellent service and food and recommendations from the Manager on duty ,we will be back again,,the best fish and chips Nottingham has to offer without a doubt,

Tuvimos el mejor servicio y la comida era deliciosa. Tuvimos un poco de espera para nuestro plato principal, pero esto fue visto antes de que lo señaláramos y fue rectificado inmediatamente. Sin duda lo volvería a visitar.

Good food for good value....freindly service.

A fantastic night with friends enjoying the cocktail masterclass with Jerome a great bartender and entertainer. Jerome knows his stuff, easily explaining what to mix and how, with a little bit of science too. We gratefully accepted the cocktails he made so effortlessly and then had a go at making our own, Jerome’s teaching style made this fun and easy and overcame any of our nerves with encouragement and humour. Thanks for helping us have a great night out 5⭐️

Great place for lunch, great food, great friendly service and reasonable prices

Enjoyed a very good meal here tonight. Classic British food, particularly excellent pies. Tried steak and kidney, steak and Stilton, steak and Guinness and Bangers and cheddar mash. Food was great but spoilt slightly by being swamped in an, albeit good, gravy. It would have been nice to have the choice of the gravy in a jug on the side to pour it where and how much you wanted, hence the 4 rather than a five rating which it would have otherwise been. Starters were interesting and varied, soufflé a little stodgy but garlic mushrooms on toast in a Madeira sauce and French onion soup were great. Shared a generous cheeseboard of 4 good cheeses between two which was good value. Would have been nice if the cheeses had rested out of the fridge for a while before they were served as the soft cheeses were a bit hard. Overall though with 2 bottles of wine, a beer and a port, good value at £183 for 4. Service was excellent and attentive; we will definitely visit again.

Lovely catch up with the girls tonight! We meet up here as much as we can, as the food, and the service is always spot on. Hillary and Silvie are fabulous!

Enjoyed such a great night at The Dunes on Friday 21st March, for their Games Night. Hosted by Paddy, we were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed a great family friendly atmosphere.. we’ll definitely be back 🥰

Loads of space to sit, great service and food. I had the vegetarian breakfast and although I did like it I wouldve preferred chips but anyhow I still enjoyed it.
