What a fantastic place!! So relaxing and very welcoming, no rush, stay as long as the mood takes you. The coffees are fabulous, served in delightful tin mugs!! There’s a huge range to choose from too. Paul the owner is lovely, he has gone to a lot of trouble to make this little coffee shop something really special, away from the norm. As others have said lots of board games, books, craft on sale etc, as well as themed mornings, such as the crime book club or the gin club in the evenings. There are also evenings designed to help with relaxation. This place is truly inspirational. You won’t find bacon butties or sausage rolls here, but you will find some home made cakes to tempt your taste buds!!
This special Tapas event is only available on certain weekends as the restaurant is currently awaiting resale, so it is necessary to check when the next event is scheduled. The food is wonderful and very reasonably priced, with normally up to nine individual dishes for sharing between two people ( or a whole one each if you feel really hungry. There is also a good selection of local craft beers and traditional cocktails etc . The sweets are a real treat, so go on and spoil yourself. A really great night out and a wonderful atmosphere and the staff are wonderful and friendly. We look forward to the next evening as soon as possible.
Finding a nice HALAL place in Nottingham to eat isnt easy so when a friend recommended this place and aswell as seeing them all over social media, i decided to go with a friend. The atmosphere was really nice, with gorgeous decor and offer variety of options for food from hot foods to sandwiches or tea/coffee with freshly baked desserts. After a really good experience I opted to go again with my mum and ordered the delicious lamb chops and also had the most amazing fully loaded brownies i’ve ever had. The service was fantastic and i didnt have to wait long for the food either. I also ordered a cake with only 4 days notice and the lady was so nice and accommodated to my every need! I would 100% recommend this place!
Really enjoyed our lunch here - a little bit out of the town centre but seems very popular and the food was good. The cafe was clean and staff friendly and helpful.
Absolutely delicious pizzas!! My friend and I went for lunch on our work break and will definitely be going again. The best pizzas we have tasted in Leicester ;-)
We went to Spalding on this lovely sunny morning to the market. The wonderful and very special Carillon was playing, ringing out across the market place and we popped into the Café on the Square inside the South Holland Centre for a coffee and a late breakfast. Well, nearly lunch! (Breakfast is served until 12 noon).
We both had a breakfast brioche.
Lincolnshire sausage patty layered with bacon and topped with a fried egg in a large and very delicious brioche bun.
Probably not the sort of breakfast for every day (!) but super tasty for a treat - the food was lovely, the staff were so pleasant and helpful and the coffee was very good too.
Thank you Courtney and Mike and Bailey.
And it was very reasonably priced.
You can sit in this 1st floor café and look out over the market place and people watch to your hearts content.
Go on - treat yourself to good food, great coffee and a nice relaxing time in The Café on the Square.
What can I say about Grandma's pudding it is one of a kind. So warm and welcoming. The food is just amazing as are the cakes. The staff are lovely and friendly 😁
Brilliant and friendly pub. Me and my mates had a great time visiting when we came for a weekend away. Location was ideal for us as it was a very short walk from where we were staying.
Been going to this cafe for years now and never fails to please! lovely freshly tasty food and extremely well priced. Best local cafe in all the local villages
