The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

Reserved a table, when we got there someone was on the table. Was told would be ten ,minutes, which was fine as we were ten minutes early. When we went back we were shown to a different table, very cramped. I had the pie, the filling was very over cooked.

Lovely local community pub. Carvery was fantastic, great service from chef will and a great variety available. Will 100% return.

We have just had a Sunday roast and it was fantastic.. we have been all over locally for a good Sunday roast and always seem disappointed. Lovely staff, amazing food! Really couldn’t recommend more highly. Friends have eaten in the week and the lunch time menu is also very good. We will be back next weekend!

We were told to get food first . But no cutlery until we paid. So food became cold while we then had to pay . Should ask for money first .

Up from Kent to visit my daughter in kingslynn, met up with some of her work colleagues for the Thursday night quiz. Staff so nice and friendly, felt like I was a local. A great fun evening, prices were reasonable (but then I’m used to London prices!). Had a few sides to pick at and the chips were cooked to perfection and plenty of them. Nice to see a large car park and welcoming open fire. Will certainly make a point of booking a meal here next time I’m visiting. Thanks for a fun evening.😀

Staff were rude and when I complete about my coffee I was threatened and told to leave. Awful experience and terrible staff

Very shocked when we ordered an extra filling for jacket potato to be informed that it would cost a further £6 when the jacket potato was only£9.50 . Food was ok but have certainly had better felt it wasn’t worth the money

Dropped in for lunch. Very pleasant and enthusiastic new manager. Very good pub grub and reasonably priced. Nice surroundings.

Came across this place on a long journey and couldn’t have worked out better. Such a lovely pub and fabulous food. They were very short staffed but they all worked so hard and it in no way affected our experience. Can only imagine how incredible it would be with the full team. Thank you to the whole team for a great meal

Well went here tonight for takeaway fish and chips. The chips were really dry and tasteless and the fish hadn't been freshly cooked very disappointing food will not been going again

My family went to the Welby Arms for dinner yesterday evening. My husband is in a wheelchair and they were very accommodating, putting a ramp in place and helping him indoors. The food and service were both excellent, as always when we visit there. The landlords pie and the lambs liver in a Madeira gravy are highly recommended! We were so full after the main course, we couldn’t manage a dessert - maybe next time.

Had a wonderful stay at this amazing little gem of a hotel. The evening meal was sensational, packed with flavour and so fresh. The pub is charming and full history from the surrounding area, our room was spacious and very comfortable. Highly recommend a stay.

Can't comment on food as not tried it, but the drinks and entertainment are good
