Visited here on Sunday for Sunday lunch, first visit here for me. On arrival the staff were very attentive and was quickly seated to table we had booked. I ordered the 3 meats Sunday lunch so did my other two freinds and other freind had the crab salad. On arrival of food it looked ok but on closer inspection, the Yorkshire were burnt, my beef could also not eat as it was so tougth , also when I started to eat it, was cold o did ask the girl if she could microwave it which she did. The other 2 meat meals were also the same but friends didn’t want to say anything, desserts were ok but freinds too on hers looked burnt as well plus I would add for £30 you would get all the makings of a Sunday dinner but it lacked and hardly and gravy on the plate. The atmosphere was nice and clean and liked the African theme and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

From being welcomed in to this friendly pub/restaurant, the food and service was absolutely A* My Husband chose the crab starter we both had Steak for our main which melted in your mouth. I am Coeliac and find it extremely hard to eat out sometimes, but the staff were extra attentive, made sure my meal came out separate so there was no cross contamination, and the choice on the menu for me was extensive. A Coeliac's dream. Fully recommend.

Beautiful little country pub, a very nice atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door. Great service! The food was exceptional… we tried the South African skewers I must say that the chef really knows what he’s doing. I’ve been to Argentina and this chimichurri beats all what I had there!! To follow we opted for the tomahawk. Cooked to perfection!! Presentation beautiful. Really can’t recommend this place enough. Looking forward to our next visit

I’d heard the restaurant had recently changed hands and those reviews had been good. I’m always a little sceptical when I try a new place but pleased to say on this occasion, all the noise was correct and I’d like to that Stuart and his team for a great night. All four of us arrived on time at 19:00 and both the bar and restaurant were fairly busy. We had a nice table by the window and it wasn’t long before the drinks and food orders had been taken. Dinner started with Crocodile Sosaties and Prawn Sosaties, both full of flavour. For main course it was Chicken Bunny Chow (workers curry in a bread bowl) and Samaki Wu Kupaka (prawn and monkfish tamarind & coconut curry) with rice, again full of flavour. I finished meal with Malva Pudding with Amarula Bomb. The restaurant owner was really friendly and good host. All the service was good. Well worth a visit.

Great service, atmosphere and food! My husband and I go for a meal with our friends once a month due to diary constraints and well, life. To say that we have high standards is an understatement. We like to feel welcomed and looked after when we dine and want the food to be excellent. We were not disappointed and the Kings Head far surpassed our expectations leaving us feeling full and satisfied and also confident that we will return. My husband said the T-bone steak was one of the best he had eaten and my fillet steak was tender and cooked to perfection. The owner cannot do enough for you and is very attentive throughout service and he had a good sense of humour too which we always feel goes a long way in the dining experience.

A few of us went for a birthday meal. The service was efficient and the staff were friendly. The roast dinners were a bit disappointing as we were expecting real roast potatoes but they were the frozen ones. The pie was nice but wasn’t an individual one, it was a slice that had been heated up in a microwave so the pastry wasn’t the same but it was nice and full of meat.

For my husbands birthday we wanted to try somewhere new and we’re recommended this pub by a colleague. From the moment I booked I had high hopes because the lady on the phone was so polite and friendly, she asked which area we wanted to sit in and when I said we’d not been before she told me she would put us by the window on one of the best tables in the restaurant. I had high hopes that we would enjoy our visit and honestly I can’t speak highly enough of it. When we arrived the car park was ample and we went to the bar and said we’d not been before, greeted by a gentleman who took us through to our table and took our drink order straight away. We were given time to peruse the menu and a lady who was leaving suggested the chicken strips were incredible. Looking at the menu the light bits would be nice to see in the evenings and we couldn’t find the chicken strips but then spotted a specials menu which was just out of sight. I ordered the chicken strips which were not strips at all but giant battered chicken and my husband had the crab linguine, both were huge portions, very generous. We also spotted other diners meals and must say the steaks look incredible. Our food we could not fault, the staff were attentive and the venue itself is quaint and a welcome change from busy, loud venues. I had to take some food home and didn’t have a pudding but we’re told we could take away which we would do next time. When we left we were thanked for visiting and certainly would visit again. It really did feel like such a special evening and we can’t wait to return and bring the family!

We visited the Kings Head which recently reopened post Covid closure.I have to say it was it’s usual fabulous food and service. There is a one way entry through the back near the car park. Exit out the front near the road. Details taken on entry and sanitiser provided. We ate in the restaurant. There were a couple of tables with sanitiser on and taped off so you cannot sit there as they are too close to each other. No table cloths or cutlery on the tables. The cutlery is brought to the table with your meal. We had a roast beef and roast lamb dinner. Very good and still served with the vegetables in a separate dish. We had gluten free jam sponge and custard for pudding. It was delicious. Even the other half who usually will not eat anything gluten free couldn’t tell it was.It was a very pleasant and welcome experience after being closed for so long. We are booked in again for this week!

We Had a great night in the main restaurant, we had a drink in the bar side which was a little busy but we were acknowledged & served some drinks , a lot of people eating in the bar restaurant too which looked equally good . A lively local pub .The restaurant was full & although the starter of my choice wasn’t available I had the beer battered goats cheese which was delicious, followed by a perfectly cooked (to my taste )fillet steak. We also had the haggis fillet which was equally cooked to perfection. We thought the portions were large for us & a lot of salad piled on the starters - it was wasted on the starters , perhaps a smaller sized salad maybe softer lighting would make this even better for a night out. We will definitely be returning to try the desserts. Staff all friendly & look forward to trying the weekly event specials.

This was our first visit to The Kings Head, the welcome and atmosphere was lovely. The Timothy Taylor was enjoyed by my husband and I, as designated driver was on Diet Coke. We shared the starter, which was delicious and plentiful, it would probably be enough for 2 for lunch! The main course and desserts were also delicious, the service was good. If anything the service could have been better and for this the review would have been a 5!! We would definitely go again but it’s not a budget night out, our bill was just over £100.

After recently going vegetarian I have really struggled with finding restaurants that offer more than one option so when I came across this menu I was ecstatic. I had the broccoli and Stilton soup which was lovely but I was left disappointed after ordering the pasta tagliatelle. The pasta was described as ‘slow roasted tomato and vegetable sauce served with garlic bread and Parmesan’ if I had to describe it, it would be ‘pasta with tin tomatoes and garlic bread from the co op’. It was so bland and completely tasteless, the staff were extremely apologetic and took the order off the bill however I would now definitely reconsider eating here again. If you do eat here, choose wisely.

Myself and my husband went here for our anniversary meal one evening. On first impressions, the bar/restaurant looked clean with a friendly atmosphere and lovely, homely decor. The menu was very broad with options for everyone. The service was fast and professional and the food came in good time and was lovely and hot. For taste, the food is without fault and the evening in general was lovely however, meals are slightly on the pricey side for what it is. After all, it is just pub grub and the food and menu reflect that, the price however does not. Overall, a nice evening but expensive for what it is. Probably wouldn’t go back as it’s nothing special for what we paid.

Cosy village pub with a good menu. We decided to have the Sunday roast. We were shown to our table quite quickly and we weren’t kept waiting too long for the main course. The main observation was that in our opinion there wasn’t much seasoning on the food and it tasted a bit bland. I had the roast pork and was disappointed with the two tiny pieces of crackling. We then had desserts, 3 cold and 1 hot, and they obviously forgot about the hot one as we were waiting ages and eventually had to ask, plus one of the cold ones came with ice cream instead of cream but that was quickly sorted. After dessert we were just left there at the table and we had to actively find someone to ask for coffee, the same when we wanted to pay. Overall an ok meal but more attention needed.

This was a late Fathers Day Treat, 3 fathers in the party, we were seated in the snug, which suited us perfectly as we had a 2 year old with us. However a very good 2 year old. The service was very quick and the portion sizes enormous, maybe too big.!! . I can never eat the amount of chips that are put on your plate and I hate to see so much food going back to the kitchen. Maybe a dish of chips between 2/4 with the option of more if necessary. That aside, the meals were all lovely, all eight of us were very impressed. My grand daughter managed a starter, main and dessert, where she put it I don't know. She then cycled back to her home in North Hykeham. It really was a very pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon, our 2 year old summed it up whilst tucking into her pasta - Yum, yum.

After a lot of recommendations and having tried to book three times we finally got here. The welcome was luke warm and we were shown through (sort of) to the very bright restaurant, it didn't feel atmospheric or cosy. Our drinks order was taken quickly and we were given our menus. The order was taken quickly and our starters arrived very fast. As soon as our cutlery was set down our table was cleared and our mains arrived. The food was tasty but almost felt microwaved and grilled as it came so fast. We hadn't quite finished when that course was also cleared. From arriving to the bill being given was all within an hour, it wasn't conducive to a leisurely evening. We paid the bill and headed home a little disappointed. El pub no ofrece un menú para niños, pero explicó que se adaptarán a cualquier cosa que les guste a los niños. Tuvimos un carnicero [este último para compartir para 4 adultos y fue suficiente. What a change. Once regarded as an outstanding pub with excellent food, it has tried to become a something its not. Ate there tonight, and the food was well below standard. The starter on the steak night special as either mushrooms , mushroom soup or prawns. The prawns were excessively greasy, and the main consisted of a steak ( which only one of four needed to be redone) and reheated greasy chips and onion rings that was batter only and no onion. Very poor. At least 2 of our meals were discounted.

.Visited here this afternoon (Sunday) in the hope of getting a meal. After a pleasant greeting we were handed menus from which to choose. Easier said than done as food is home cooked & extremely delicious. Finally we decided on Gammon for Sir & Pork Loin for myself. It was fortunate we were both hungry as the portions were generous to say the least & both meals very tasty indeed. We were both full really but having seen the deserts being delivered elsewhere forced ourselves to taste them choosing Brioche Bread & Butter pudding & Tiramisu. Both far superior to the frozen products many places serve. The place is clean & friendly with very pleasant staff. All in all a happy & delicious meal.

The food at this place is first class, you must try their fish and chips. More expensive than your average pub but goodness it is worth it. Freshly cooked delicious food.

from the moment we entered the building, the staff were attentive , polite and professional. There was plenty of choice on the menu , the soup was vegetable , a little peppery but very nice served with a warm small loaf. The mains of turkey , beef and pork were all beautifully cooked , tasty , lean and in plentiful supply. They were accompanied by roast potatoes , stuffing , pigs in blankets , yorks pudding and gravy. Then came sides of mixed vegetables with more potatoes. All piping hot and very tasty.

Four of us visited today for lunch, not having been before. What lovely food and service. Three of us had pies, the meat was tender and the generous portions were cut from a larger pie. The fourth was the vegetarian tart with goats cheese..another winner! The vegetables and new potatoes were perfectly cooked and presented, the chips amazing, and some of the best gravy we have had! We were too full to try a pudding, but the beer was excellent. We will definitely visit again. We don't live in the village but it was worth travelling.

Went on the Wednesday get the scheapest meal free and was not dissappointed other than it was thought the duck was a bit short on portion size for the price.

Overall not bad, but considering the price bracket they have put themselves in I think they need a bit of a rethink. 8 of us visited recently and we were all of the same opinion, food is ok but you can certainly get better around Lincoln at these prices. Service is pretty good, although the lady who I think was in charge, and serving needs to learn some things from the younger ones around her, things like smiling and friendliness. I don't think any of us visiting would visit again considering what else is around in this price bracket. Overall not a bad experience but it's just not really as special a place as it likes to think, and they maybe ought to consider lowering prices or raising their game.

A group of friends and I are regulars at the Monday night pub quiz at the Kings Head, and more often than not end up having a meal as the food there is excellent. The environment is cosy and convivial, with a number of smaller rooms situated around the main bar. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, just as a typical English village pub should be. The Monday night quiz is well organised and great fun, and the £1.50 per person entry includes sandwiches and French fries at the end of the quiz.

Been here a few times. And while the food as good and plentiful. They don’t offer a children’s menu. So kids have to order off full menu so the portions are way too big and way too expensive for a child. And staff can’t even really shrink portions to suit. So even a burger is a 1/2lb with chips way way way too big for a child. Disappointing really

I have used this Pub many times for meals. The food is always good. In my opinion, there Steak & Kidney pie is one of the best I have tasted.

Both food and service were excellent. My aged aunt (97) got just what she wanted with a starter and the "steak and kidney pie" main was very good indeed. The vegetables were freshly cooked and the service attentive. Good value for money.

We visited the king's head tonight as we are looking to move near sir William Robertson academy, so I suggest to my husband that we should try the village pubs in the area and see which we prefer as this will help us choose the right village for us. We've been to a few village pubs in the area over the past few weeks and after visiting the king's head it pretty much made the decision for us! The staff were really friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them. A couple of the other pubs we visited made us feel like we didn't belong as "we weren't from the village" but definitely weren't made to feel like that at all. We were made to feel like regulars which was lovely. Now for the food...... All we can say is AMAZING. So much so that we had 3 courses. My husband had garlic mushrooms followed by belly pork of which he said it's the best he's ever had and then homemade brownie. I had goats cheese, duck and homemade chocolate orange cheesecake which was devine! Best of all was the main course was get the cheapest one free so we only paid for one main! We will certainly become regulars here . Thank you

A cold and wet day, just right for a warming meal. We went on the recommendation of a friend and were very pleased that we did. We received a warm, friendly welcome, drank a satisfying pint then indulged in an excellent meal from the bar menu. The restaurant offers many other options, which looked very promising. We shall return.

Popped in here for a drink only but it seemed a fairly average pub with rather uninspiring surroundings particularly in the bar. Restaurant looked a little more interesting. Glanced at a menu which appeared to be standard pub food, not too badly priced. From those eating near us portions looked generous though we did overhear a couple who didn't seem too impressed by the greasy nature of their food. I wouldn't rush back here but nor would I avoid it. It could do with a bigger car park too as there were no spaces despite it not being especially busy inside.

We visited the Kings Head last night for a meal with friends. We were greeted well, served with drinks and given time to sit and study the comprehensive menus. The service was friendly and efficient from all staff without being intrusive. The food was cooked perfectly and very tasty. Did we have room for desert? Not really, but we tried one anyway, and were not disappointed with the quality, or the quantity which sometimes lets eating establishments down. Although food at the Kings Head is marginally more expensive than some other local pubs, it's well worth spending that little bit more for this kind of quality. Superb!

Having been here in 2011 we decided it was time to make a return visit! We chose the same sandwiches; Ham on Wholemeal accompanied by Salad, Coleslaw and Chips. They were delicious and the pint of Black Sheep went down a treat! The other members of our family were just as impressed on their first visit.

After a long mornings work from 2am to 1pm I arranged to meet my wife for a chilled drink before heading home. We decided to meet and try out our local pub, The Lincoln Green as we understood it is under new owners and would like to support it.. Sadly on being asked if we were drinking only I was asked if we would go into the bar area. The lady was friendly and I have absolutely no issues with her as this is obviously(in my view) a very misguided policy. I informed her that we would not wish to do that as in the past we have found it cold with wooden floors which when the football is on makes it noisy. I have no issues with this in general as I enjoy watching football and make special trips to do so at pubs for the atmosphere but on this occasion myself and my wife just wanted a quiet, comfortable drink together. I explained this and added that the comfortable restaurant was totally empty. We were offered the chance begrudgingly to sit tucked around the corner as a large table(15 which soon turned to 8) was expected shortly. She declared that on this occasion we could but she had to state she couldn't promise in the future. I told her that we wouldn't waste our time trying in the future. We will just go straight to the CENTURION or HARROWS where we know we can sit in comfort and nice decoration for a quiet drink. Things I don't understand-1) if I was eating I would much prefer some atmosphere with some drinkers as opposed to an empty restaurant. 2) Had it been 11.30 with the possibility of a full restaurant I can understand not wishing to take tables but this was 2pm and totally empty. 3) we were not a noisy group who would be shouting and swearing and could spoil someone's dining experience 4) Surely a pub should be able to cater for diners, sports and football fans AND couples hoping for just a nice drink. Sadly, unless this policy changes we will not be back(unless to watch the football)
