The Lincoln Green in North Kesteven

After a long mornings work from 2am to 1pm I arranged to meet my wife for a chilled drink before heading home. We decided to meet and try out our local pub, The Lincoln Green as we understood it is under new owners and would like to support it.. Sadly on being asked if we were drinking only I was asked if we would go into the bar area. The lady was friendly and I have absolutely no issues with her as this is obviously(in my view) a very misguided policy. I informed her that we would not wish to do that as in the past we have found it cold with wooden floors which when the football is on makes it noisy. I have no issues with this in general as I enjoy watching football and make special trips to do so at pubs for the atmosphere but on this occasion myself and my wife just wanted a quiet, comfortable drink together. I explained this and added that the comfortable restaurant was totally empty. We were offered the chance begrudgingly to sit tucked around the corner as a large table(15 which soon turned to 8) was expected shortly. She declared that on this occasion we could but she had to state she couldn't promise in the future. I told her that we wouldn't waste our time trying in the future. We will just go straight to the CENTURION or HARROWS where we know we can sit in comfort and nice decoration for a quiet drink. Things I don't understand-1) if I was eating I would much prefer some atmosphere with some drinkers as opposed to an empty restaurant. 2) Had it been 11.30 with the possibility of a full restaurant I can understand not wishing to take tables but this was 2pm and totally empty. 3) we were not a noisy group who would be shouting and swearing and could spoil someone's dining experience 4) Surely a pub should be able to cater for diners, sports and football fans AND couples hoping for just a nice drink. Sadly, unless this policy changes we will not be back(unless to watch the football)

Visited as heard the place was under new management! Well what a difference that has made! The introduction of a sports bar and restaurant division has really given the place a new lease of life. Good menu, varied & caters for all. Good drinks and value for money. Well done to the new owners, keep up the good work and we will be visiting you again

My friends and I visited for the Wednesday special of Fish and chips for £8.95. What we actually got was a lite bite for exactly the same price. The lite bite was 3 fish goujons, which were actually 3 fish tails and did not resemble any fish goujons we had ever seen before. The chips were also over cooked and the mushy peas came out of a can. Doesnt take a chef to cook this standard of food. The waiter did not inform us there was a specials menu with the offer for a Wednesday. Nowhere within or outside the pub was there a specials board advertising this information. The specials he informed us afterwards was on the last page of the menu, this was extreemly unhelpful. We informed the waiter we were not happy with the food nor the lack of information. He informed us that he had spoken to the chef and the manger, neither of whom had the decency to actually come and talk to us. They just left their young waiter to face the disgruntled, unhappy customers. Maybe a lesson learnt here would be to advertise the offers available within the pub and also outside. Sadly we will not be returning. As you can see from the photos, what we thought we were getting and what we actually got for the same price is vastly different. Cannot recommend.

Lincoln green was amazing, brought my family from Scotland for a meal and they couldn’t stop praising the food saying it’s the best burgers they have ever had. Got talking to staff and found out it is under new management, all the staff were polite and helpful and felt like they have been doing it for ever. Cheap for the quality and size couldn’t recommend this place more if I tried, definitely returning. Big shout out to all the front of house staff and them behind the scenes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a pub but now lacks true identity. We were part of a group of 10 friends and family booked to have an evening meal. This didn't start well when we found 2 of our party drinking outside because you are not allowed to drink in what would have been the main bar area as this is now dining only. The ambiance is poor with no real style. When we asked for wine we were told that there was a choice of 2 whites and 1 red which is bad for a place targeting diners. Also there was no chiller or ice bucket provided for the white wine. The highlight for my evening was a decent starter of 4 tempura prawns with a dipping sauce and a dressed salad. My beef stroganoff main was bland with overcooked tough beef and the side order of vegetables was also overcooked. From other mains there was a bland Malaysian chicken curry and a meat skewer which was a best slightly warm.

Visited here whilst on holiday. Fair size pub restaurant area. Service was very good. Food was ok, Lasagne was disappointing with too much cheese topping in a very small dish.

We have been having meals at The Lincoln Green for many years now, as I have a gluten intolerance. It is so nice to know that everything on the menu is gluten free, and, I can have a relaxing meal without being worried if it contains gluten or not. All the meals we have had have been fresh, delicious and piping hot, including our meals tonight. Ranging from the battered crispy prawns, potato skins, burgers and the chicken and bacon salad. Over the years we have had the Sunday lunches, Saturday evening meals and the Christmas Day meals. Every staff member we have encountered whilst coming here, have always been polite and obliging, as have Craig and Bex the owners. It is such a shame there last day of trading will be Sunday 25th June 2023. We wish them all the very best for the future. Thank you for all your hard work and effort into making The Lincoln Green such an enjoyable place to eat, and, most importantly looking after your customers.

I have been coming to the Lincoln Green over the last year since I found out they are a fully gluten free pub. Both myself and my 11 year old are both coeliac so it's very rare to find a place which is completely safe for us to eat at. We visited yesterday and I had the most amazing beef in red wine. It was the best meal I have had in a very long time. My son opted for a burger from the kids menu and he started off with cheesy nachos and sticky toffee pudding to finish. We love this place, the food is always very tasty! Thank you for giving us a place where we can eat absolutely everything off the menu.

Absolutely fantastic, I’ve been coeliac 5 years and this was by far the best place I’ve ever eaten, massive choice and the whole menu is gluten free, food was outstanding, proper home cooked, thank you for making our trip so perfect

I had organised my charity (Lincolnshire IA the Ileostomy and Internal Pouch Support group) Easter Lunch with 22 member and their guests attending the 3 course lunch plus tea or coffee at the end. The charity has been frequenting the Lincoln Green North Hykeham for a number of years, 3 times a year. Why do we keep going back ....simple.... the service and food are always excellent and the staff always have a smile on their faces and are always very helpful with a capital H. All 22 of us thoroughly enjoyed enjoyed the food and the afternoon. Many thanks to Lincoln green and all their staff and see you in September for our charities Late Summer Meal. Pity we can't give them 6 stars

Made such a differnce to have Staff that were extremely attentive and polite. Food was excellent too, We all had a sunday roast and Pudding...YUMMY

We found this gem of a place when visiting Lincoln. We come ever 8 weeks. My son has celiac disease and he can have anything on the menu. The food in this restaurant is absolutely delicious and very very large portions. Manager is lovely and all the staff. I don’t have a single bad word to say about the Lincoln green. You have to try it, even if you can eat gluten. I wish there was a place like this in Cheshire.
