Brilliant find after searching close to Cadwell Park for BSB weekend. Staff at New Inn were very welcoming and the grounds/building were very nicely presented. We opted for continental breakfast, full English is extra. Breakfast was nice, but always a bonus if full English included. Fab base if your looking to explore Lincolnshire.

we live fairly local to the New Inn and have visited occasionally for either food or just drinks. We are yet to come away with a positive outcome. However, thought we'd give it another go for drinks Saturday 29th June as it was a nice sunny day and we could sit in the overgrown garden. The main bar had a small group of people there and whilst waiting to be served (by a lovely young lady) the group were very loud and there was a lot of swearing for no particular reason. I took the drinks outside. Decided to have another drink and the bar now had a few more people so there was much bellowing and constant f'ing and worse from some men and women. One guy was off his head and being obnoxious. One of the pub's managers was in the lounge area but did nothing to stop this outrageous behaviour. Outside were a similar group with children but again the language was foul. Until the place is run by proper management who know how to operate a public facility we will not be going back.

Lunch for 3, August 2 2023 We ate a starter and main each at our first visit here. The surroundings have much of the reassuringly traditional with small, quirky elements of artwork and artefacts to entertain the inquisitive. Anyone interested in history – particularly political history – could spend more than a few hours fuelled by one bookshelf alone. Dec looked after us at a quiet service with just one other family of diners. He is friendly, efficient and able to react intelligently to guest’s needs. The pedigree of lead chefs Slawek and Alex suggests that you will be offered food which is thoughtfully devised and better executed than many country pub restaurants can manage. That promise was fulfilled in most of the dishes we tried. Seasonal ingredients have their flavours and textures brought to the fore. Great ingredient combinations work really well with properly developed sauces where necessary. This made ‘eye-off-the-ball’ inconsistencies all the more noticeable. A terrific lamb sauce was let down by a loin taken too far in the cooking. Two risottos – one rice, and one pearl barley – were both disappointingly bland and under-seasoned. Don’t let that put you off. Average will have to be my current judgement but 'very good' is obviously not far away. We are already booked again. There are more than enough good things on offer at The New Inn for anyone else to reserve their own table.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. A special mention to Mel, Alex did a wonderful job in the kitchen and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. Booked as two couples for Sunday lunch, extremely small portions, very undercooked anaemic roast potatoes and veg, chicken was dry and had a peculiar gamey flavour, accompanied by an egg cup sized portion of gravy and £3 if you required more. Seemed like an unsuccessful attempt at posh nosh without the skills, quality or flavours required to pull it off. At just over £160 for 4 people ( this did include wine) feel we should have had a lot better, won’t be returning.

We stayed here last night, to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. the appearance of the pub and room were really promising, clean, tidy, nice looking, sadly this is where it ended. Room and accommodation: No wifi No sound proofing, walls paper thin Water leak No external light, so when we came to our room in the barn, we had no vision or idea where the path was. A real risk. Food: Continental breakfast was cereal only and if particularly requested, toast. No fruit or yogurt, Cooked breakfast if ordered, was an extra payment and was virtually inedible, clearly had been kept warm and dried out. Toast was cheap white bread that was like a biscuit Felt very unwelcome and as though we were in the way.

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch at the New Inn in Great LImber. Alex the innovative chef has conjured up a fantastic menu. We started with the Autumn Salad which was roasted root vegetables, a lovage emulsion and burratina. A surprising and interesting starter with beautifully delicate flavours. We then followed with roast dinner for two. I had the chicken supreme, which was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy and my husband had roast beef. Both were delicious and the vegetables, red cabbage, green beans and carrots. Roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding all were really tasty. Followed by Lemon Posset and Apple Crumble with custard. All was delicious! The New Inn has been refurbed and it's a lovely mixture of old and new. There's a real fire in the bar - which is very much still a place where the locals meet. The staff were fabulous. Nathan the restaurant manager couldn't have been lovelier and more helpful and Ellis who took our order and generally looked after us was equally fabulous. Everyone made us feel very welcome. All of the staff were great - attentive and helpful. Chris is a young and exciting chef... who I think will take this pub far. It definitely is a great place to visit for Sunday lunch and I'm sure any time of the week. It's got a great atmosphere and achieves the pub and restaurant combination well. The bar is dog friendly and we would definitely return again.

As we do not eat red meat or food with a high fat content, there was little on the menu to appeal to us. In the end, we took a chance on prawns Portugese style and haddock and chips. We dined as a couple in the newly reopened restaurant, and found the experience rewarding. To begin we had chicken liver pate with an onion marmalade, and Portuguese style king prawns which were well cooked and very succulent. The mains were roasted pork belly with dauphinoise potatoes, and guinea fowl with a carrot puré. Both were well presented, and cooked with skill and flare. For dessert we chose the burnt Cambridge cream which we found a little disappointing, but still very edible. On the whole we enjoyed the evening greatly, and found the staff welcoming and helpful - especially with their recommendations for wines to complement the courses. We were pleased with the cost of the meal, which we felt represented good value for the fare we had enjoyed.

Firstly the room was fantastic ! Large, spotlessly clean and lovely comfy bed. When we came down for our evening meal we noticed the menu was quite limited and presumed it was just a bar menu, when we were told that was the only menu we were a bit dissapointed. When our meals came I had ordered steak ( which was lovely) no vine tomatoes and no pepper sauce, which it said on the menu. My husband ordered a mixed platter of food but when it came again no mixed salad , no olives, no chuntney. As we were finishing our meal there was another couple at the bar complaining about their food as well. The next morning the breakfast menu came, we ordered yoghurt and fruit compote only to be told they hadn't got any ! However when our main breakfast came it was beautifully cooked and tasty. The lovely lady who served breakfast told us the place had been closed for some type of rebranding , with a new chef etc so hopefully the food will improve and you may even get the items that appear on the menu when you order. What I don't understand was the man in charge could clearly see customers were unhappy but made no attempt to come and explain himself or even offer a drink on the house or a slight reduction in the bill, he just left it for the young inexperienced waitress to deal with.We will return for the room as it was brilliant but we will keep an eye on the reviews for food and I'm afraid if they don't change for the better we will be eating elsewhere.

The New Inn is situated on the borders of the Yarborough Estate and in the summer months you can walk freely amongst the best managed woodland I have ever seen in the UK. The fare at the New Inn is without fault and I give this praise rarely. I ordered the prawn fishcakes as a starter and followed with haddock and chips. The fishcakes were delicate and light and placed within a circle of wasabi and mayonnaise. Presentation and delivery 10/10. The fish and chips the very best I have ever had as the batter surpassed even the best to be found in Lincolnshire. The potato in the chip incredibly fluffy and as I had onion rings too I was able to try of the incredibly crisp and light batter. The wine choices are also exemplary and for the price you are indeed enjoying the very best there is. The menu exhibits plenty of choice...they even have two menus.

No specials on the board:( The food arrived, whilst all of the dishes were well presented, the portion size did not reflect the price. The main meal arrived, again very well presented, but sadly lacking in size. I had the duck, which was very tasty, but had I not ordered a portion of chips for a princely £3 a portion, my plate would have consisted of two small cuboids of duck breast garnish and sauce. When you are paying in the region of £20 for a main course, you shouldn't have to order side orders of vegetables and potato.

Unfortunately 3 out of four of us chose porridge but were then told they had run out. 2 Wheatabix and 1 Granola were ordered and received with the milk already on! Granola floating had to be decanted onto the Wheatabix that was too dry! I asked for toast instead and got some very weird spread that resembled butter (not like the lurpac I use! and some jam would have been nice! Lovely warm welcome and a cosy fire in the lounge. Very interesting and tasty starter, the ham hock with crispy egg and pineapple salsa. A massive plate of tasty and succulent beef with lots of vegetables and a great crispy Yorkshire. Felt very full but managed a delightful peanut semifreddo with caramelised banana and all at a very fair price.

Having been a few weeks earlier and having a great Sunday lunch we thought we would try The New Inn at Great Limber again. We chose to eat in the bar as it was very quiet (only the two of us)

Spent a lovely, relaxing overnight recently at The New Inn. This was our first visit and we were blown away by the style and quality of every aspect of this country pub/ hotel. Our room was spotlessly clean, tasteful and the bed was really comfortable. The Penhaligons toiletries in the bathroom were a classy touch.

What a difference a good front of house makes. From the moment we entered the New Inn we were made to feel very welcome. The staff were very proficient and Lewis extremely knowledgeable and full of fun. Having chosen our meals we waited in anticipation .....and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, well presented and hot.The atmosphere was calming and comfortable, finally we have a superb restaurant on the north side of the Humber.

Having heard mixed reviews since new management have taken over, thought we'd give this place another go. The food was ok, but slightly on the pricey side for what was served. Service was very bizarre, a youngish chap was friendly enough but seemed a little disorganised.

Four of us had a lovely meal in the bar last evening. The fish pie was divine and menu choices can be adapted for gluten free. The new manager and staff are attentive and charming. Good wine list, good beers in the bar. Great to see this restaurant up and running again in some style - we will be back.

There is no 'lounge' area here. There is a very nice restaurant and a very rough bar, nothing in between. I am allergic to animals and the bar is very dog friendly, almost a kennel. The locals have colourful language and the bar becomes very noisy. We were looking for a lovely place to have a drink, but that cannot be achieved. We had a drink and I started with an asthma attack straight away, we asked the bar staff if we could go somewhere less 'dog' orientated, and she could see I was puffing away on my inhaler, but told no. We left and have not returned since. If they had kept the old 'lounge' area for conversation and drinks it would be great, but alas no.

Called in for lunch , a very nice comfortable place has just reopened after being closed for some time . The staff were very polite and helpful , the menu was varied with game and fish on the daily board and not too badly priced , They also will be doing b/b and we shall certainly be looking at that ,

We visited with friends on Thursday night, and were invited to join the quiz. The Hallowe'en themed questions were entertaining, the entrance fee was very small, free finger food was provided at half time, and the prize was generous (though sadly we didn't win). Thanks for a splendid evening.

We had such a lovely stay at the New Inn, I came with a large group of friends as we were having a reunion weekend, and as is often the way we were probably quite an excitable handful, but Sharon who was the lovely lady in charge didn't bat an eyelid and showed the utmost professionalism and good cheer at all times! The rooms were cosy and elegantly furnished and the bar is tasteful with striking artwork on the walls. The breakfast spread was the real foodie highlight of the day, truly one of the best cooked breakfasts I've had in a long time. From full english option to more american style - eggy bread, bacon and maple syrup- and always with a spread of fruit, granola, yoghurts, juice. Its so easy to go wrong on cooked breakfasts, but the kitchen team here evidently really know their stuff, choosing gourmet sausages and proper smoked bacon which had such a good flavour- as we stayed a few nights I got to try it all.

I stayed at The New Inn, as it looks beautiful on the website. I was not disappointed on my arrival. The building looks lovely, an old grade 2 building but it's also very stylish. As you walk down the path it has well kept gardens and groomed trees. The inside is very welcoming and the interior is just lovely.

The New Inn is really lovely and beautifully maintained, with very comfortable, well-decorated rooms. They had three ales on, which were welcome. Sadly they don't serve evening meals at present as they are changing over to new management and are considering a more suitable layout for evening food.

She cooked us loads of wonderful meals and kept us entertained during our meals. Cosy pub adjoining the Inn.

My experience staying at the New Inn is without a doubt one of the most comfortable and enjoyable times I've ever spent in a hotel/accommodation. Why was it so good ? Well partly due to the relaxing, idyllic location, partly due to the charming decor and luxurious beds, and partly due to the wonderful attentive staff who really looked after us, showering us with love and attention at all times.

Good place to stay. A small friendly village pub with rooms.15 of us turned up for a family wedding nearby, taking nearly all their rooms between us. We were mostly couples, three singles and one family with two small children under 5. The rooms were smart, comfortable, well-equipped with comfy beds and everything we needed. The food was fine: generous portions and a reasonable choice. The service was friendly and flexible... they really took the trouble to look after us. Special mention to Sharon, whose quirky sense of humour made us laugh. Beats the impersonal chains of hotels every time

I am so disappointed to be writing this review. I've been a regular at this restaurant since 2014 and to start with it was amazing - chefs, however, have come and gone and now unfortunately, the ethos seems to be pile your plate high, low quality food. The pictures on the website are not at all reflective of what is served. I had belly pork with mash and veg - I cannot say it tasted bad - but it looked like a school dinner at best - swimming in gravy and so much mash it was unbelievable. I am told that they are responding to customer demands by going for larger portions - but the quality is just gone. Sorry to say I won't be going back unless there is a dramatic change. Sadly this once amazing restaurant is nothing more than below average at best. What a shame.

The old faithful Costa. It is the universal meeting spot for anyone coming from outside of Gainsborough! Cheap parking, lovely outside seating area and good reliable drinks. The upstairs is particularly beautiful with its full length glass walls with a view over the fountains and the old marshalls yard buildings. Top tip.... if you're looking for a good spot to watch the reindeer being turned on at Xmas time, get upstairs early as you get a perfect cosy spot to watch the festivities

Too many dogs here. Personally I don't like dogs around food. I only had coffee and cake which was very unappetising but my friend had the breakfast which he said was great. Why can't cake be fresh and moist? The staff work hard.

Two of us ordered steaks. Sirloin wasn't available so we settled for rump. Admittedly we asked for it well done, however I have never had meat as tough. It was so tough we could barely cut it let alone chew it and we left it. Absolutely dreadful! Informed a staff member who said she'd pass it on. So won't be returning
