The Trent Port in West Lindsey

Absolutely awful. It was late 3-15 ish we were in a hurry and hadnt eaten do decide to stop here. Checked the carvery out before ordering, clearly everything had been out for hours and very dried up looking. So decided to order from menu.Had dirty philly burger. Dried up , reheated poor quality burgers. In fact everything dry and un appetising. Fish and chips small fish, poor quality. Definitely would not go again.

Was a lovely view over the Trent, busy pub, plenty of seating, child friendly, outdoor seating for the summer, staff were attentive, little care worn, very clean toilets, food on the carvery was plentiful and lots of deals, few delays but staff went above and beyond to make us welcome

Not good. I had booked a table but.on arrivable was told all carveries off plus no fish either. Only pizza/burgers which I don't eat, place was smokey and stinging my eyes I had a free meal as a birthday treat valid untill that date. But unfortunately have now lost it due to expired date. Disappointing to say the least

Like the food and quality is ok to good. The vegetables tend to get dried out a bit under the heat lights. Our plates were not hot, so our meal went cold halfway through eating, which spoiled the overall experience.

Best customer service from Kirsty so polite lovely evening will definitely return she’s been so helpful pizza was delicious for bottomless and she’s an absolute asset to your team will definitely give her a 10/10 she’s the nicest girl ever

We loved our meal out today. The gammon and beef was very tender. There is a variety of veg on and was very tasty.

We went as a family of 4….Very mixed reviews between us. 2 had pizzas that were ok & 2 had burgers.. not so good. The 2 burgers…. both said the burgers tasted & from the texture, that they had been reheated in a microwave & were not enjoyable. They left most of theirs. I also asked a waitress when deciding what to order, if chips came with pizzas … her reply ‘erm I don’t think so’ It’s a while since I’ve been to Trentport.. not sure I’ll rush back.

Came last night for a long over due catch up with friends. Food was great, carvery was fantastic 😋. There was a lovely atmosphere and the staff were so friendly n great with our children. We will definitely be returning. Thank you x

Food was good staff excellent but place is a bit run down

The pub is ok. It would benefit from a refurbishment. When we last went specifically for the carvery as there was an offer on. We were told only the full price menu was available. So a bit disappointing.

Visited on Tuesday 28th January in the evening..staff super helpful and friendly staff especially lady taking order.After a few hit and miss visits food wise was pleased to see freshly made potatoes and vegetables abd thoroughly enjoyed our meal

Called in the other night for dinner when staying over in town and was not disappointed. Staff did tell me they were closing early but plenty of time for dinner. Had a carvery and all nice and hot with plenty of choice. Staff friendly can't compline.

The upholstery on the dining chairs was tired and badly stained to 15 minutes before I told I needed the app. I was sent conformation of my booking but because I hadn't got the your app I didn't receive the barcode, your staff kept repeating I need the barcode I showed the confirmation email and again was asked for the barcode. After asking to speak to the manager and promptly your manager arrived to explain that I needed the app and to download it for the barcode. I feel that you staff on the till should be able to advise me about the app or be able to find my booking via the confirmation email reference.

Went last March to meet long lost relatives. Never noticed any signs so they must be fairly recent, certainly weren't there on previous occasions. Got a charge a couple of months later. I did complain and the manager responded by saying he would stop it but nothing came of it. He also gave me a wrong phone number but I obtained the real one. And still the parasites are pestering me and threatening. Wouldn't mind but we used the facilities and no staff member made us aware.

Absolutely great carvery with a good choice of veg. Service at the tills should perhaps have two people particularly if you are just ordering a drink and have to queue with the food orderers, or vica versa. Having every type of order queuing at the same till leads to significant waiting at times at peak periods, particularly if its a big drinks order. Management should "read the room"

Dropped in for a drink. Poppy served us with a welcoming smile. Cat came over to us to see if everything was alright. All round nice visit.

I came here with my best friend for an amazing night and I wasn't disappointed kirsty and maddie are both absolutely amazing and will go out of their way to make the customers happy also poppy was really polite overall an amazing experience

Just been here for a carvery with my husband, absolutely disgusting meat was tough, mash was cold and lumpy you couldn't even chew the stuffing, gravy even had skin on, don't even think any of it had been turned, tinned carrots dry garden peas, complained to the manageress and all she said was "oh sorry about that" well we definitely won't be back, used to be a great carvery definitely gone down hill

Sorry to say the beef was grisslyvand inedible - tough as old boots in fact. Apart from that the rest was fab - plenty of choice. Unfortunately the meat was so bad none of us ate it so it therefore ruined the whole meal

A fairly priced eatery. Not the best, but certainly not the worst. The staff are usually helpful, parking it great etc. Certainly worth popping in if you are passing and hungry.

Just had a lovely Sunday Carvery here, can't fault it at all.

Food mostly good if you get there early. Staff are friendly. The chairs are filthy and need burning and replacing. The whole place needs a good clean and decorating. You stated in a post 4 months ago that "you were awaiting a date for a little work to be done in the restaurant to get it looking nice and fresh again". Obviously you are still awaiting that date?

Had 2 carvery’s via. Takeaway on Uber. Both times the cauliflower was underdone. The gravy was tasteless and vegetables woody

We had our family Christmas party tonight and WOW it was amazing. We put a pre order in from the festive menu and all the food rolled out on time. Thank you to James for doing a fantastic job. Even though it was busy he kept that ship sailing. Thank you to the kitchen staff: Paige, Elliott and Pete for serving us delicious food. Poppy for our drinks and Kelsey on the floor. James really was the front runner tonight, he kept everything moving smoothly and we couldn't fault a thing. Thank you Trent Port for having us. We even had time to our secret santa, a pub quiz and a sing song. 5 stars weren't enough for today, so here are a couple more **

I dont like to moan,and will give any place a chance, xmas cavery meat was ok, the rest absolutely pants, service terrible.pizza was shocking bad,un cooked, i took home a desert doggy bag. I dont say this lightly, worst restaurant experience so far

Kirsty is without doubt the most kindest and efficient person we have ever met, she goes beyond her role of duty to make sure your visit at Trent Port is perfect, and that’s what it exactly was, the food is superb! And it wasn’t a small measure, I have eaten in the top restaurants of the world, and this Christmas dinner was the very best, the soup was stunning, the main meal and carvery was incredible, and my apple pie and custard was the best I have ever had. I have now put Trent Port at the top of my restaurant list, and placed Kirsty as the very best I have met in service, her kindness, and friendliness is fantastic, thank you Trent Port, and thank you Kirsty from the bottom of my heart.

We went to Trent Port for a Christmas dinner/to celebrate my grandparents’ wedding anniversary. The whole team (in particular Kirsty) went above and beyond to make our meal extra special. The food was fabulous and the excellent service made everything even better. They catered for my mum, who is gluten free - they even had an amazing gluten free chocolate fudge cake, so she was even able to have a proper dessert. They also had gluten free gravy too. The meal was also excellent value for money, which is incredible considering the service and the way they catered for different dietary requirements. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening - we’ll be back again very soon!

Terrible food. First time visiting. Tried to use the app with discount and it crashed, had to order at the bar and was refused discount. So had to pay full price..This was a family of 7 people. Burgers were questionable as to meat content. We all had Burgers and no one ate them all. Very poor quality food. Ice cream was yellow and tasted very strange.Definitely do not recommend and will never return to eat.

We booked a pizza making party for our daughter’s birthday party with a small group of friends. The service, from initially booking up to the party, was fantastic. Kirsty, our host, was friendly (and very patient!) The set up was great and all the kids had a fantastic time rolling out and making their pizzas in a private area of the bar. Such good value for money and great quality food (the unlimited ice cream was a bonus!!)

Normally food is ok but recently when we have been to say the least very disappointing the peas are like bullets,the sprouts are that hard you could easily break a tooth and they are too busy trying to cut your meat that thin they just give you crumbly bits,the carrots are dry as a bone last time we was there my husband tried the pork crackling and came out with a dental bill no joke.....

Visited with a friend for Sunday lunch. Food was nice, plentiful and service was prompt. Staff friendly and attentive.

Although slight delay with the meats not being ready but it was worth it. Everything was fresh..

Sent an email offering £6 Carveries complete with Booking Form - booked in, went for my carvery together with family, to be told there were no carveries but hey we could have a full-price other meal instead.....no concessions made towards the extra cost, no sense of any responsibility being taken by the restaurant, they simply kept saying 'it's not our fault'.....which it clearly is when you know how many people have booked in on your offer!! Badly run and poor customer service - avoid at all costs.

We had a meal here for the first time, we will never go again. The chips on both meals were cold and tasteless. We waited for the pudding it never came even after I asked about it. We had to leave as we had another appointment. The coffee was instant.

This is the 3rd Stonehouse restaurant we have visited for breakfast, and by far the least clean of the 3. The amount of dust on top of the toaster, water urn and other equipment, would suggest that they have not even been wiped down in days/weeks, and the table we sat at, although wiped clean before we sat down, had a used tea bag left on the seat. The food was acceptable, but appeared to have been out under the heat lamps for quite a long while, with some items none the better for being so. All in all not the best experience.

Lovely food and great service. The pub is looking in need of redecoration esp a new carpet. Graham was incredibly helpful, professional and friendly.

Had to wait over half hour to have our place cleared and then another half hour to get to our desserts was not happy at all has put me off coming back

Gainsborough lad born bread moved away 20 years ago move back six months ago since moving back literally every time cannot be bothered to cook we Pop down, Works out two or three times month we come with our grandson auntie and uncle sometimes. We come for the breakfast like today or we come for the carvery The food is always well cooked and actually very good quality for the price and plenty of it Staff are always polite, friendly professional. One of your staff is the reason for the review most of the times I come I see a little girl called Kirsty. What an absolute legend she is nothing is too much trouble always professional always polite respectful And what tops it off even more if you’ve had a bad day Just want to have Some food and a beer she has the most brilliant smile to make you think that the world is not a bad place I went in for breakfast today Sunday she was running around making sure everybody was happy and satisfied What a credit to your establishment, Kirsty. Keep up the great work love.X

Friendly nothing to much trouble

On 26/10/24 I came for a drink with friends before and after going for a dog walk, when returning for a drink I entered the pub and went to the toilet to then get stopped by a member of staff called kelsie for her to say to me ‘you have to be a customer to use the toilets’ for my friend then to reply ‘for your information I actually work here and I’m also a customer right now ‘ she then huffed and puffed and walked away from me. Kelsies attitude stunk not very good customer service

Many problems when arrived, ordered food to table, items on menu not appearing in search online, entered 1st time user code of 25% off,once all food selected. Got to pay screen said had paid everything vanished. No way to reorder and use the discount code. Went to bar had to reorder so had to queue as only 1 member staff to serve drinks and take food orders. Explained problem to said staff was confused so put through again and manual discount applied. Told 45 min wait on food, mine was carvery, meat was down to last little bit 1 serving. Monumental amounts of pots veg and everything else just no meat I got last. Over hour later waiting children hungry getting upset my wife's guests (her birthday) getting annoyed food is so late baby no longer wanted to eat as so fed up waiting. The shining part of story came on form of young lady called Maddie, she was helpful and playful with boys she tried hard to make them happy. She brought ice-cream and extra bowl with toppings. She continued to ask if we needed anything and was so attentive. She made the whole experience better. Not great as we have been walk in customers for a long time but not in a year things need revamping but with more like Maddie the experience is good. Had contact from management apologies have been given, and a satisfactorily solution been given. More than happy to amend review on my next visit. Thanks from us to you.😁 Update 2nd visit 26/10/24 Well what a difference this visit was greeted at door with smiley faces, the atmosphere was immediately warmer with an inviting feel. And staff was busy. Shown to our table and think menu may of been different, but the faves was still there, scampi, huge burgers and of course the carvery. Ordered drinks at the bar and Kirsty was serving us. She was very polite and very well spoken, she was comforting in her knowledge on how to apply the voucher we received to make good our last trip. She made sure we was properly satisfied and made sure we was happy with order. Fodd did not take anywhere close to the previous visit and it was like a whole new show the manager Kirsty obviously knows how to run a tight ship, making ours and the fully packed restaurant guests enjoyable. The food was amazing the baby loved the scampi as did our infant and wife. Dad and sis had burger OMG these things was huge so juicy and succulent, to much for sis to finish. And me the birthday boy was content my gammon was gawjus not salty not fatty, not greasy. So many veg and pots are amazing huge crunchy tho a man with few teeth I could not enjoy all. Once again I would love to thank Kirsty and all her staff for a brilliant meal, and will certainly return and recommend again to others.

Had lunch on a Tuesday. Roast potatoes were very hard and cold, and they didn't have any cranberry sauce. Other than that a good meal. Good price. Would go again.
