The Trent Port in West Lindsey

Cracking carvery this Sunday, straight in and sat at our table. It’s been a long time since we last came on a Sunday and it not feel so hectic and unorganised, lovely smiley staff and tasty fresh food.

Met up with large group of friends parked in car park in pouring rain. Did not notice that you had to enter registration of car also slow service due to limited staff at the bar. You would think the staff would have said that you had to enter you reg ? Last time I go there. Got a hefty parking fine plus had to pay extra for receipt. Another parking scam . Notices should be put up in the restaurant so you can see that you have to register

Party of 11. Two orders. 1 for 5 people. 1 for 6 people. They struggled to cope. Food took over an hour to come out, and it came out piecemeal, not together. Many items were missed. Dough balls came out raw twice! The salt in all the salt pots was damp. Chef was aggressive and struggling. Supervisor was very stressed. The staff were not sufficiently trained or capable to deal with the problems. No solutions offered to appease us when we complained.

Many problems when arrived, ordered food to table, items on menu not appearing in search online, entered 1st time user code of 25% off,once all food selected. Got to pay screen said had paid everything vanished. No way to reorder and use the discount code. Went to bar had to reorder so had to queue as only 1 member staff to serve drinks and take food orders. Explained problem to said staff was confused so put through again and manual discount applied. Told 45 min wait on food, mine was carvery, meat was down to last little bit 1 serving. Monumental amounts of pots veg and everything else just no meat I got last. Over hour later waiting children hungry getting upset my wife's guests (her birthday) getting annoyed food is so late baby no longer wanted to eat as so fed up waiting. The shining part of story came on form of young lady called Maddie, she was helpful and playful with boys she tried hard to make them happy. She brought ice-cream and extra bowl with toppings. She continued to ask if we needed anything and was so attentive. She made the whole experience better. Not great as we have been walk in customers for a long time but not in a year things need revamping but with more like Maddie the experience is good. Had contact from management apologies have been given, and a satisfactorily solution been given. More than happy to amend review on my next visit. Thanks from us to you.😁 Update 2nd visit 26/10/24 Well what a difference this visit was greeted at door with smiley faces, the atmosphere was immediately warmer with an inviting feel. And staff was busy. Shown to our table and think menu may of been different, but the faves was still there, scampi, huge burgers and of course the carvery. Ordered drinks at the bar and Kirsty was serving us. She was very polite and very well spoken, she was comforting in her knowledge on how to apply the voucher we received to make good our last trip. She made sure we was properly satisfied and made sure we was happy with order. Fodd did not take anywhere close to the previous visit and it was like a whole new show the manager Kirsty obviously knows how to run a tight ship, making ours and the fully packed restaurant guests enjoyable. The food was amazing the baby loved the scampi as did our infant and wife. Dad and sis had burger OMG these things was huge so juicy and succulent, to much for sis to finish. And me the birthday boy was content my gammon was gawjus not salty not fatty, not greasy. So many veg and pots are amazing huge crunchy tho a man with few teeth I could not enjoy all. Once again I would love to thank Kirsty and all her staff for a brilliant meal, and will certainly return and recommend again to others.

Rude manager Called in for a bite to eat stood in the queue next to a gambling game machine flashing all its light so as young kids do my 6 year old child was pressing buttons (not playing the machine no money was entered) the manager then came up not acknowledging or saying anything to me and pushed him out the way of the machine and said “your not allowed to play that” If they didn’t want kids pressing buttons not the best idea to put the machine in the queue, safe to say I walked out without spending a penny and this is a local pub to me and I won’t be spending another penny there, it’s no loss to me a below average food pub I’m not going to miss eating at! She needs to be given the boot!

This was absolutely the worst carvery meal we have ever had anywhere. Everything was overcooked and dry and barely edible. To add insult to injury service at the carvery occured at a snail's pace. We will never frequent this establishment again and could not advise anyone else to either. It is not as though we went there with unrealistic expectations as we have used other pubs in the chain

Came for breakfast for the first time was very impressed the service was good so was the everything else

Love coming for drinks and breakfast always a lovely welcome from kirsty will definitely come again to see her happy face

Stonehouse (Trentport) Gainsborough is a family friendly place to eat. We come here because it is somewhere you can enjoy a family meal without the washing up. Kirsty is a very welcoming young lady and is always happy to help. Trentport offers grest value for money.

Had a Pizza Party for my children, they absolutely loved getting to make their own pizzas, they loved getting to roll their own, choosing their own toppings and then taking the pizzas up to the chef to be cooked. James and Kirsty we're brilliant with the kids keeping them entertained!

What a great meal, service & seating area. Danielle made our experience more relaxed with her chatty nature.

ordered a breakfast via uber. it was really good. as good as eating in. i had a selection of everything and they kept the beans and tomatoes in a separate pot. lovely note from Cat on the bag, thank you Cat :)

We had a lovely breakfast, freshly cooked and plenty of food. Charlotte was friendly and attentive.

Had our usual monthly meet up. Excellent as normal. Charlotte the server did a splendid job.

Another excellent breakfast. Food was hot & cooked well. Member of staff dealt with my booking professionally. A different member of staff called Charlotte served our table. She was polite & an asset to Trent Port. Good visit & will visit again soon.

I went to the Trent Port for a family celebration and was really impressed. There was a good selection on the menu and the food was delicious, the service second to none. I will certainly be eating there again.

I have been here multiple times and the food just keeps geting better and better every time. Today I came with my dad he got a carvery and I got a pizza. Danielle was great at serving and had a bit of a chat with me,all and all it was a great experience,definitely would recommend.👍

Carvery meat was very good, veg choices were okay but kind of lacking in flavour. Kelsey was very polite when she came to clean our table, for service individually she would get a 5 star but the rest of the service left something to be desired, interactions are very minimal here so if you aren't very social or someone who doesn't like talking then it's great.

I was made to pay for a tiny pot of bbq sauce,which should already be on a mac and cheese. My partners stuffing was like a paste.

Delicious all you can eat breakfast, staff helpful and friendly, would definitely orecommend it and will be returning soon

Been a few times, extreamly friendly place always a smile and good nosh. Really nice member of staff who served us called LIAM found my phone and came checking with everyone sooner than just place it behind bar. Really grateful to all thanks Mick.

Lovely carvery plenty of choice of meats and vegetarian options. Great service and information from Liam who did the table service. Relaxed atmosphere for myself and friend to catch up and chat.

Servie slow staff appeared not to know what they were doing. Table booked went to order they had shown someone else to our table. Food hard burnt potatoes, beef tough. Trying to get some salt was an experience. Seems no one cares we have been coming to you for 6 years never known it so bad.

Recently went to this restaurant and they always offer a good meal. The staff were especially polite and friendly including Reece. Who was very happy to serve us

Always a good place for a quick meal. Friendly staff especially Reece on the till. Watch the spoons (use the napkins) they're extremely hot.

I went into Trent port on Wednesday for an absolutely delicious lunch the chef was very much in form. We were greeted by the lovely Maxine who created an extraordinarily warm welcoming atmosphere, Thanks for another delicious meal 10/10!

Not been for a while, booked a table. All is well, untill we went for the carvery, roast potatoes were like bullets, rock hard,,, leeks had cheese with them, cauliflower cheese too, I don't like cheese. Only carrots and peas to choose from, no stuffing. No gravy left, lots of waiting around for it to be replaced. Had far better in the past but today very very disappointing.

Visited Trent port for tea today, all 3 of us had the 2 course set meal, very good value. We got told that 1 of our pizza pin wheels had been dropped so the chef was making us another portion, it then gets brought out and it was a huge portion, thank you russ! Cat on host point was amazing with everything and helped us with everything we needed, definitely be coming again. Very well done to Maxine, maddy, Kirsty and James, brilliant service to all and really friendly

Staff unhelpful, ordered full & vegi breakfast they didn't mention about vegi sausage so only had cold bean egg ashbrowns no mushrooms very poor the food was terrible 😢 total waste of money

Visit very regularly with my mum and kids. The Customer service from Jamie is fantastic, very welcoming and brilliant with my child with additional needs. Food is spot on especially for the price. Great for a cheap meal out with the family

Brought my daughter and dog here for breakfast. Had to sit outside as dogs aren't allowed inside however it's a lovely place to sit, Faye was serving and did a brilliant job making sire we had everything we need. The food was lovely.. we will definitely come again.

Not enough staff on.. They all looked stressed. Staff quite rude on carvey. Had to wait ages for drinks ordering via the app cause only 1 guy serving. We Won't be returning but I'm sure it won't bother the management. Thank god for the 25% off

Adelaide provided a lovely service! Advising me to download the app and save some money when ordering our tea helping me save £18.00 off a £60 order! Fantastic service will definitely visit again

Came for breakfast this morning. We were served by the very welcoming and friendly Adelaide. Food was lovely too.

Popped in for a drink after taking the dog for a walk. The service from Kirsty and maddie was lovely and they were so friendly and helpful.

It's my local and I regularly pop down for a carvery or breakfast, quick easy grub can't fault it, kirsty is one of the lovely waiters who is always happy to help and greets with a smile

We visited with grandparents and the team overall made the visit wonderful. Dan and Kirsty in particular that served us at the bar and the carvery were brilliant and really stood out - they were patient, helpful and understanding with the older generation, and just had a fantastic manner. They felt genuinely warm and friendly when interacting with us and it really made the difference!

Nice to have full menu on a Sunday and not be limited to just carvery like most places. Danielle was brilliant fetched an extra parasol so we could be shaded on a sunny afternoon.
