The homemade Chicken Curry was amazing.

Didn't eat here but friendly staff and atmosphere with a good selection of beers.

If i was you i would definitely get yourself down the staff are absolutely incredible dan pours the best guinness and blacks and so for evan so polite and making everyone feel welcome on the other hand would be better if they had a some sort of a new variety of music

We stopped here for food and it would of been easier to tell us what there was on the menu rather than what there wasn't, as there wasn't alot of stock Food was not all that I had chicken and ham pie that looked like it had been warmed up again

Camped here over a weekend in July and found the staff were friendly and welcoming.The drink and food were of an excellent standard and the short walk across the bridge is ideal for fishing across the fossdyke.

Absolutely brilliant place to go. Great atmosphere and the staff are so friendly and hard working. We camp once a year and always get a warm welcome. Lovely clean facilities and the field is a great for pitching a tent Darren, Nikki and Staff - keep up the great work and we'll see you next year for the weekend and may get down in between.

We called in for lunch on the way to Lincoln. Really nice fresh food, chips were hand cut and were lovely. Child and dog friendly.

Played Dominoes there, a nice little pub with big friendly locals. Nice views of the river. Loads going on. Carpark for loads of vehicles. Will return later in the year.

Fantastic pub with a great vibe

Very disappointed that they weren't serving food on a bank holiday. Especially as we had chosen to travel on a boat up the river, passing two other pubs only to be let down. We had one drink and a game of pool before we went back to Woodcocks for a meal. On the bright side, Monday is is free play on the pool table.

I visited The Sun Inn with a group of people who enjoy Bell Target Shooting as a sport. I found staff welcoming, service was good and the venue very pleasing to the eye. Clean and well laid out. The choice of beers was very good with "Local" traditional beers on tap as well as the more usual "National & International" beers. I did not sample any foods this visit but sure to do so on my next visit.

Came in for a coke and to watch the rugby with some pool. Nice decking area and a spacious bar/restaurant space, with a pool/darts room & TVs available! Car park at the back.

Visited on Saturday with my Wife and Daughter. Really enjoyed the scampi and my wife commented on how good the burger was. Little one enjoyed the chips too. Would visit again 5/5

I was staying locally and had an evening meal here. I was by myself and felt comfortable dining alone. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food (steak and ale pie with mash, gravy and veg) was really good, and there was plenty of it. I'd definitely go back.

I only called into the icecream parlour. The lady who served me, first made a fuss of my dog. Then washed her hands, before serving me a very nice icecream, and a small tub for my dog. They do do a dog icecream, but I opted for a vanilla one. The parlour is extremely clean and friendly with a nice decking area outside. And yes, it's a dog friendly place. It's a pity that it's only open Friday to Sunday.

Sunday roast experience was not the best. Very overcooked and when the stuffing was missed off I didnt really want to trouble them for it as it didnt look appetising, Polite staff.

Home cooked food at reasonable prices. Lovely and very accommodating landlord with confidant and friendly bar staff. Lovely touch with the scissors to cut open the condiments. Shame there’s utter savages that steal them. Clean, friendly and highly recommended by me.

Just been to the sun Inn with the husband and our labrador, the manager was lovely and so are all the staff, we will definitely be back when we come back up on our boat, brilliant.

Popped in for a couple of drinks near the end of our journey. Didn't get further than eating the warm pork scratchings but the menu looks inviting and the meals being served to others looked excellent. We'll be back.

So disapointed! Staff Great.... food a let down! We had calamari to start... apeared to be reconstituted not proper calamari tho the salad & dressings were good enough. Onion rings good, chips ok, tomato could've done with bit of sear... virtually raw, We had the T-bone and a Ribeye don't think problem was quality of the steak but with the cooking of it - does chef know how to cook a steak? That it should be seared (especially ribeye due to fat)? Else it's in effect poached : ( Complained and £10 was taken off bill....sorry, not good enough - our meal was spoiled £10 does not cover it - Unhappy customers who will not return. PS the table next to us had the fish that looked amazing maybe we should have had that?

A traditional, friendly and welcoming pub!! Try the food, it’s amazing!! We had the Roast Beef roll with hand cut chips.. soo good!! We had ours to take out, we sat outside overlooking the beautiful view of the canal

A disappointing lunch time experience. The staff are luke warm, the food is un pleasant and the service very slow. All this considering there was only a hand full of customers and even less requiring food.

Great village pub I believe recently changed hands and certainly has improved the interior. We enjoyed a lunch from their varied menu but do check your details as two of the three meals came out differently to what we had ordered but none the less very good food.

Staff brilliant, food brilliant and beer brilliant. What more could you want? Give it a try.

So nice to go into a proper pub with proper locals and a warm welcome. Great food and well kept beers. Add a riverside location and it's just about perfect!

I called to collect a menu for our upcoming U3A lunch. The barmaid gave me her staff copy so I could photocopy it. I did this and returned it the same night. Looking forward to a nice lunch on Thu 20/10/22. All good. Terry.

Friendly staff and customers. I'm a bit of an outsider, but I always feel very welcome. This place has certainly shaken off any negatives it may have once had. Haven't eaten here but the food does look excellent, and I've heard nothing but great comments from diners.

Great pub . Friendly and a good selection of beers.

First time here since before Covid and new ownership/refitting of interior . Nice place to enjoy a drink or two and the people working there are very friendly. The interior is now a lot lighter inside with comfortable seating which gives it a very welcoming feel. Plenty of drink choices on offer with a few nice ales on tap. Also have a good selection of food, I had a sausage and bacon sandwich which I really enjoyed. They also have an outside seating area so you can watch the world go by whilst having a pint. As its fairly local to me I will definitely be visiting again.

Paid my first proper visit the other day, the place is lovely geeks very different from the sun of old but still I think it's a vast improvement

6 of us selected this pub/restaurantto dine on a Saturday afternoon, 4 adults, 1 child, 1 baby. We ordered food, which wasn't as good as we'd hoped for. It took ages to come, about an hour, it didn't warrant the price tag, and unfortunately there was black bits amongst the food from a dirty fryer/ heavily used oil. Shame really, as the quality of the actual fish and steaks were good. Young staff were present on this occasion, they were very polite, and conducted themselves professionally with happiness and positivity. 5.5/10 dining experience.

What a great place to come. We came here for afternoon dinner as we heard that the new Chef does brilliant food. I had the Chicken Balti, which to be fair, was the best Pub curry I've ever had. We even got served our food by the Chef himself, very personable and excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend that everyone that is in the are, comes here. Excellent quality and great value for money. What a gem of a pub. ♥

We have recently reserved a house in saxilby and called in the sun inn.whatna welcome by the landlord. He was so friendly. Told us everything about the area.all the staff were helpful and friendly. The food was home cooked and very nice.excellent beer.A nice cosy pub.I can't wait to make it my.local.

Glad to here its under new management. A fresh look and warm welcome is exactly what the Sun inn needs. Last vist was a disaster, unfriendly host couldn't be bothered to raise her head never mind a smile bluntly told know one wants food in saxilby. With hundreds of new houses going up and passing boat traffic i think differently. Looking forward to sailing up for a stopover and giving the new Sun inn a try best of luck to the team .🙂
