The Lincolnshire Otter in West Lindsey

There was 16 of us, meals were very nice and didn’t wait to long before they came service was lovely as well.

Went for mine and wife's tea young lasses did great job food was prompt after ordering

Very amazing food a service it’s a lovely place to take family and have party’s there and Nice to relax I sit there for hrs at some times Or so has a pool table 👍

Unfortunately not a great visit, stood waiting ages for a member of staff, once seated, we had to wait ages for a waitress/waiter to take our drinks order and then food order. Food did arrive quickly but wasn't as good as it used to be, there were no serviette's, no salt or pepper. We won't be rushing back...... Update 6th May 2022 Just been to the Lincolnshire Otter to meet a friend for lunch, and wow what a turn around. 😊 Service was great and staff were friendly, the food was served quickly and was delicious. A very enjoyable visit. Everyone deserves a second chance. 👍🏻

Sunday lunch...roast potatoes not crispy. Not enough mashed potato. We ordered turkey and beef but didn't get any accompanying cranberry sauce or horseradish . However the food was hot and the meat delicious.The staff were polite . On the downside the table needed cleaning but we did it ourselves. A major positive note was my elderly mum was allowed to partake a children's meal that was a sufficient portion size. She has a small appetite. Thankyou . We will consider calling again on our way to the coast. We live at Worksop.

Nice stop on our long journey from the coast. Great that we were allowed to bring dog in with us. Service was polite and reasonably quick.Atmosphere was calm and welcoming.especially loved the piped music through to toilets.

Food was fair but our visit was late in the evening, service was very good all staff very pleasant.

I can not fault this place one bit they have amazing staff who are all great, always polite and welcoming and will always go the extra mile to suit your needs, came with my family and my kids had fun colouring in and playing in the kids corner, all the family really enjoyed there food and drink especially the purple rain cocktail

We enjoy the quiz every week on a Tuesday. Jay is a fantastic host. Excellent service from the bar staff too. I have eaten here a few times and the meals are varied and very tasty.

Came for Mother’s Day lunch with my mum, was greeted with a free glass of fizz and ordered our meals and were served within 20 minutes, food was lovely

I was treated to a mother's day lunch this afternoon, the mothers day menu didn't appeal to us so myself, daughter and grandson chose from the 'standard' menu. Each one of us was really pleased with the quality of the food which was well cooked and really tasty 🙂

The service was a little slow but it was busy so it is understandable staff were very friendly and the food was a high standard

A friend and myself went last Sunday to have the roast dinner the food was lovely and nice and clean when we had finished our meal the waitress cleared the plates from next table then came to our table n stacked the plates on top of ours to take away n then i got splattered with horse radish sauce over my top from the paper cup with some still in waitress said sorry i had a napkin and wiped off did not say much or made a fuss the waitress said i didnt get burnt like it didnt matter id had food on me.I understand things can happen but also waitress could have been more careful. I have beeen trying to call the number you gave me different times of day and evening and no one answers.

Absolutely poor quality of food.

Haven't been for a while as had a bad experience last year but don't think we'll be rushing back. Had sausage and mash which is usually OK but the sausage was cheap and deep fried, essentially a hot dog sausage off a stall at a fair. The peas were rock hard too. Staff were nice though.

Not been for a while, shan't be going again. Not cheap for processed pub grub. Now serving very thin fries ( the sort you cook in 10mins from frozen for the kids) and I got a small plastic tub of something with my burger instead of the coleslaw of old. Empty plates left on table ( wasn't busy) for an age whilst I queued for an age to order dessert.Thought I'd try the hot chocolate fudge cake as my old fave ( choc torte- it was devine) no longer on menu :( Half an hour later still no dessert so had to queue yet again to ask for it. Very disappointed..cheap tasting choc sponge with awful white ice-cream when I'd asked for cream.Wasnt going to queue again(!) so £6 wasted.Shame- could be a good pub.

Came in for a family meal it was clean friendly and welcoming service was very good. Having 2 people with food intolerances they had a good selection of gluten free food too choose from. Only down side the steak in my mix grill was a little too much fat and grisel for my liking. Thank you for making us so comfortable Rhys

I’m not huge into leaving reviews but had a really bad experience here today. I ordered the nachos and they came out with nearly no cheese. Only about five chips on the top of the pile had a small amount of cheese. When I asked if they could put more cheese on them, they brought them to the kitchen and brought it out with warm cottage cheese all over it… not nacho cheese, not cheddar, but cottage cheese. It was so gross I couldn’t eat it and ended up leaving hungry. Several other members of our party also had a really bad experience. Some sunday roasts came out cold and another’s chips were super undercooked. The staff was very inattentive as well throughout the whole meal.

Started poorly upon arrival, had booked a table for four (two adults and two children) only for them to deny we had pre-booked despite us showing the confirmation! Was told to go find ourselves a table but about 70% of tables had reservations on. Was limited to tables unsuitable for children with higher stools and tables. Menu looked good with plenty of choice for both adults and children. Having decided on food we ordered at the bar, a fairly painless experience. A short wait of 15/20 minutes for food which is more than acceptable (as a side note it was not overly busy at this point, maybe 8 or 9 tables.) but when the food arrived is when it started to go horribly wrong. My 4yr old’s food arrived first on a plate that was so hot he may of been scalded if he touched the plate. It was on their under five’s menu so were aware of his age, could they not have transferred food to a cooler dish? Anyway is what it is! Then my 8 yr old’s meal arrived, a simple cheese burger, which I cut in half for him to make it easier to pick up and eat. As he picked it up and went to bite into the burger I noticed the inside of the burger was still raw! I stopped him from eating and took his food straight to the bar to complain to which I received no real apology and the staff member disappeared into the kitchen. They returned to the bar area and said they would get a fresh one cooked and bring it over to us when done. Meanwhile the rest of our food was there so he shared some of my plate as he was hungry waiting for his food. About 5/10 minutes later his plate appeared with a cooked burger this time. My wife had a gammon steak which was fine and I had the mixed grill. Upon ordering I requested a rare steak and received a well done steak, but given it was more a slice of steak it’s no surprise that it couldn’t be cooked rare, and the mushrooms were dry, well overcooked and shrivelled. To summarise: Service was very poor, and quality of food was not great with a raw burger and overcooked steak and mushrooms. I wouldn’t recommend Lincolnshire Otter at all which is a shame as the pub itself is nice comfortable pub. We shall not be revisiting here under current management.

We are lucky to be able to eat out for the last 30 years I am 75 and love good quality pub food However it is very trying to find a pub that cares about customers and not just profit The food was excellent and the staff polite and proffesional Well done .we will definitely be seeing you again. For your excellent service and will reccomend your hospitality to my friends on facebook. Thankyou for a wonderfull experience.

Great selection of beers always call in when I'm that way out for a beer.

Not a vast choice of food due to them running out of it. No mixed grill,steak,gammon,fish!!!!! Wouldn't rush back.

Lack of staff waited 10 mins at the bar to order food and drinks , people in front of me waited longer and decided to leave, poor girl serving drinks,food etc all by herself. Food was very good , nice clean place but needed more serving staff.

Went up for a valentines meal and the place was set up very nice (got chocolates and love heart sweets on our table with a nice red table cloth , candles and roses )definitely will be back next year , very good food and drink

One of the staff Katy absolutely fantastic really went above her means helped us out. Food was great taste was brilliant plenty on the plate.

The steak was cooked just right which was very nice! You also get 20% off food for emergency service personnel which I found pleasing!

Kids disco on a Sunday night is great! Staff are really friendly and it was a great way for the kids to get all their energy out and be ready for bed before school!

The staff in this Pub are brilliant,my wife and I had a lunch time meal and dessert and we both agreed it was gorgeous and would return again soon. We were served by Charley.

My daughter had a make you own pizza party on Saturday 3rd Feb 2024, the venue set aside an nice area for the children with a disco and games, they were fabulous throughout, especially one of the kitchen staff who came out to speak to a child with additional needs when she started struggling. Brilliant experiance all round. Thank you.

Kids and more kids the staff were young and had no idea staff that where off shift behind bar area told us not on shift when asked about our table. no one to show tell us where our table was had booked. Disco on loud kids running all over the place could not hold conversation. Had to wait an hour for food. Food was good when we got our 2nd choice wanted 3 mixed grills but told didnt have the ingredients but atmosphere service terrible. Times there 5pm until 18:45 Sunday Got the impression the party was either for staff kids or friends of the staff In answer to your reply wont be coming again

Arrived at 11am waited 15 minutes still didn't open and there advert stats it opened at 11am. Very poor whenstood outside waiting. So left.

Have driven past this numerous times so decided to call in. Only had a coffee and cake, Was quiet but the service was excellent.

Fantastic, we have been quote a few times now more so when they have Children's events on but each and every time it's been amazing and we have all enjoyed it as a family. My kids have had a fabulous time enjoying the events.

We live a mile away from the Otter, we go every week for something to eat , we had Xmas Dinner there too, The staff are lovely and the food is really nice too

The food was great. Harvey was very helpful and attentive during our visit making sure if we were satisfied with our food and asking whether we needed anything else. He was very friendly and made our visit very pleasant. Everyone in our group was pleased with his work quality and quick service. I observed he was very attentively walking throughout the venue to make sure everything was okay and when it wasn't he would correct it. Very good work ethic for someone so young.

The staff were fantastic, but run ragged as they were extremely short staffed - two behind the bar and only one staff member in the kitchen - it took an hour for the food to come out to us when they told us it would be thirty minutes.

Supposed to have various beers on cask / keg but inevitably every time we pop in they're not available. Wine is OK. Atmosphere is forced. Lots of children running around on a Friday after school. OK if you're charging or quick drink.

The table was ready for when we got there staff on entrance to welcome us in all staff was nice and friendly food was really nice. Most importantly it didn’t feel rushed like other places on Christmas Day so please don’t change it. will definitely be back within the year and will be back for Christmas dinner in the next couple of years. Some of the food ion plate was stone cold. Swimming in gravy with big full gravy boat in middle. Shockingly table was so sticky cutlery stuck to it. Pointed this out to manager who picked up a clean spoon and waved it in the air triumphantly. Their hygiene standards need some work.

After not having anything to eat since breakfast and it was 7:30pm, we went to a local competitor. We waited 20 minutes to go get served to be told they had just shut the main kitchen and only the carvery was available. We left there and dropped into the Lincolnshire Otter. We were made very welcome and we ordered off the menu. The food was great and service as good! I don’t usually leave reviews or feedback but felt it was worth doing on this occasion as I was angry and hungry and the Otter satisfied me greatly. A+ to this establishment.

Nice warm and welcoming staff. All meals came out together for our party of 11. Very good meal.

It was fine. Booked a table 3 days prior to my visit but on arrival it hadn't been put on the computer and the staff didnt know why. If they say that you should book then they should make sure its sorted out prior to arrival. A good job it was a quiet night. Food was good no complaints. Theres not much of an atmosphere in the place but it was pleasent surroundings.
