Costa Coffee in West Lindsey

The old faithful Costa. It is the universal meeting spot for anyone coming from outside of Gainsborough! Cheap parking, lovely outside seating area and good reliable drinks. The upstairs is particularly beautiful with its full length glass walls with a view over the fountains and the old marshalls yard buildings. Top tip.... if you're looking for a good spot to watch the reindeer being turned on at Xmas time, get upstairs early as you get a perfect cosy spot to watch the festivities

if sitting in a costa is your idea of a night out, get out more, the outside of this particular costa is very pleasant and i rate Marshalls yards excellent to shop and visit other eating places there

Great coffee, not as well kept as the one in Next, but still serves the coffee I like

Always good for my odd choices, soya milk chocolate, herbal teas etc. I can always find a hot drink I like here, which I can't find everywhere.

My friend and I visited Gainsborough Costa today for lunch. Very quick service, assisted by Kate, she was very helpful and went the extra mile.

It's pk, but the tables do need cleaning. They were sticky.

Poor service and bad attitude of the staff

Really bad service, I went to costa at 2pm and I wanted to sit in and drink my coffee and they put my order in as take away. And the staff were really rude towards me. Do not recommend.

A coffee made in a hurry, tasteless. Rude staff.

Great coffee shop on the entrance to marshals yard and is 2 storeys with large glass windows, great for having a coffee chilling out and people watching .

I do like a Costa coffee, this place is lovely and plesent, the Manager Jess is very polite and professional

Only coffee today... I didn't know what to have, but Sian came to the rescue and recommended a cup of Nutella (yes, it tastes as good as it sounds).

Lovely setting with the water features nearby. Coffee cost me £66.00 , No fault of costa, I thought it was a free carpark and got a ticket

found tables outside empty but full of plates cups etc no clean ones and floor outside really bad rubbish everywhere

Nice Costa usually pretty busy, you can take it outside in nice weather. Loos not too clean 'though. Really nice stagf

Always go every Friday with a friend, we have the same and the lady on the counter has now memorised our order which is nice, we get cake too different each time for cake though. Sometimes cake is abit hit and miss not that it's not nice just dry for my taste.

Got served, eventually. Orderred flat white and americano. Why ask if you want milk in an americano. Until they learn, won't be a coffee shop in my eyes.

Called for a Costa treatment but wow the service was very slow, not very busy on a Monday at 1pm but tables and a trolley near the till overflowing with dirty cups. The toilet was running in water on the floor and very grim. The table was sticky and dirty and no one cared!

We came in for morning coffee and cake while visiting Marshall’s yard. We were dining inside and found plenty of free tables upstairs. The queue for service wasn’t too long and I was greeted politely and my order was taken quickly and efficiently. It was ready in good time and when returning to the table, the cakes were delicious and the drinks very good would highly recommend!

Great coffee, great service and fantastic setting. Sat outside taking in the atmosphere of the Christmas music and fantastic decorations at Marshall’s yard. The giant reindeer is a must see for kids.

We chose here as we were meeting family and it was part way between our homes. We regularly use Costa and would normally choose the one in next at Marshall’s yard. As we were a large group (7 of us) we thought we would go to this one instead as it had an upstairs and plenty of room. We arrived at 2.45 (the store closes at 5) bought our drinks and looked for a seat there wasn’t a lot of room downstairs for us all so we tried to go upstairs but there was a sign saying cleaning in progress. I asked if we could use upstairs to be told no! This was over two hours prior to closing!! Tables were very limited downstairs and there was a long queue at the till so unsure why they would choose to close upstairs so long before closing (half an hour or even an hour I could understand but over two hours prior to closing!). We also had to have take away cups (unsure whether this was because the pot washer was broken or whether it was just easier!) we regularly use the drive thru at Doncaster lakeside and go late in the evening, we have never been given paper cups. As we were sat a man fell over the sign placed on a chair on the stairs, not the best place to have a chair closing the area off.

Furst tune we've been in a Costa and the service was spot on, our six year old grandson had a children's hot chocolate and he loved it. We had cakes as,well which were really nice.

Friendly staff, good coffee and nice atmosphere

Queue of about five people when I arrived, which is nothing, so stood in line, waited my turn. Gets to my turn, barista makes eye contact, I open my mouth to order, man walks in and stands in front of me. Barista now ignores me and serves him. I'm afraid I left. This was ignorant and rude. Really not a stellar first impression

Rubbish coffee, burnt and wishy washy

The fridge has been off for over a month always untidy and you have to queue for ages for the toilet because one is always out of use the upstairs seating area is so hot we had to go walk out

Digusting!! We visited for a drinks while our son played in the fountains at Marshall’s yard. When we walked in there were four members of staff just stood behind the counter doing absolutely nothing. We got served no problem but when we went to sit outside the whole are disgusting!! Bin over flowing with rubbish and all over the floor, all the tables were covered in rubbish and not been wiped in what looked like all day, rubbish blown all over the floor! Just vile and bot how the area should be treated

Waited a while to get served then when I asked for an item it was unavailable. Sat outside, tables had dirty cups, plates and serviettes on floor. The coffee shop wasn't busy, but looked like it had been earlier. The menu behind the counter, although on a moving screen it was difficult to read options before it went onto next screen. Would be good to have an actual printed menu, as my option was unavailable I had to wait for the screen to come back to drinks options. People waiting behind me and only one member of staff on servery.

Use prob once a month. As a meeting place. Always busy but upstairs seating available.

The coffee is standard some staff are friendly but others need to be a little more helpful and not make clients feel they are an inconvenience also waiting time could be improved

Cups where not clean at all first one I was given had a paper sticker on it the next had unwashed coffee stains in it

I personally think it is over-rated and very expensive

As far as Costas go, this one is actually really nice. It's a shame that it's in Marshall's Yard but despite that, it's lovely.

Usual good coffee with pleasant staff

Efficient if not over friendly staff who made our coffees just as requested. Good view when sitting upstairs over most of Marshalls Yard. No wait but it was a very quiet day. There's also another Costa outlet inside Next on the opposite side of the car park.

Some of the tables on the bottom floor were dirty and Costa boxes on one table so only had one clear table out of a potential 4 tables that didn't have people. Service was still pleasant. Update, now has plenty of clean tables.

A bit grubby with dirty toilets. Tables need clearing more often.

Visited yesterday with my husband and daughter. Coffee was nice and extra hot like we asked for. Nice trip to Gainsborough

Drinks were cold even though served immediately. Cakes were not a treat as VERY small portions for prices although flavours were nice. Costa Coffee should be a treat not a Weight Watchers experience ! Wouldn't go back as food and drink disappointing. Decour dated and not particularly clean..toilets not pleasant experience and need updating however regularly mopped. Management need to refurbish and train staff on presentation and address portion size in relation to their Customer Experience and Marketing Strategy as is conflicting. Will try other cafés at Marshall's Yard as a lot of other places to eat and drink with plenty of seating and better ambiance.

We love this Costa sited in Marshalls Yard in Gainsborough. Good coffee and service in a great location. Marshall Yard has a great shopping atmosphere and there's not an empty shop unit in site!

Very nice location out looking the display and variety of shops, was delightful and staff were polite and as sweet as the Salted Caramel Iced drink I had! 🌸

Took a little while to get my drink because of short staffed had to then clean my own table and a number of other people had to do the same thing would be good if they make more of a effort in cleaning the tables and be a bit faster

Absolutely brilliant. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The young lad that served me was saying that it was his first shift on the till and he did really well. I've got a hidden disability and when I spoke to the staff they were really helpful. X

Right in the heart of Gainsborough next to the fountain the outside area is a very communal space with children playing and families sitting around on a summer day . The shop itself is clean and tidy but the staff are a bit slow.

I always use this Costa as apposed to the main one in Marshall's yard as it has a nicer feel to it, nicer toilets, lovely and quick staff. I have been using this one for years now and can never fault this Costa shop

Lovely outdoor seating area looking onto the water feature/fountains. Everything you'd expect from a normal Costa.

No, sweeteners, again, might seem like a trivial thing, but if you are unable to take sugar it does take the edge off the enjoyment of it. Does surprise me slightly that, bearing in mind the staff have total control of the giving out of sweeteners, sugars etc they can run out.

The worst Costa Coffee I have ever visited. One of toilets not working, surly unhelpful staff, male member of staff clearing tables outside nearly got punched for his rude behaviour. Very slow service and quite expensive. Give this one a swerve and go to the Costa within the Next store at the other side of the development.

Enjoyed our hot chocolate and latte and cakes, but was very disappointed with the disabled toilet, it had just been cleaned and the floor moped, but no sign to say that it was wet, I has a pair of w.hite trousers on and they were wet through at the bottom, standing up afterwards I nearly went full length, as I slipped, just managed to get hold of a tap. It's not what we expect being disabled, I got as much sense out of the manager as I would out of a piece of wet cod.

Nice place to sit for a coffee. Pretty much job No1 for a coffee shop! It's almost like a foreign holiday these days. The good weather helped
