Excellent varied menu with plenty of choice for everyone. We have eaten here for breakfast, lunch and dinner on a regular basis for many years. We have never had a disappointing meal, the food always arrives at the table hot even when we were in a group of 23 at Christmas. The staff are always attentive and regularly check that all is ok. We ate here this week with friends and, as usual, all our meals were hot, tasty and incredible value for money.

Have been going to the Miners arms for 20+ years and have never been disappointed with the food always good quality and the staff are very friendly. We both had the steak and mushroom pie today it was very tasty and the vegetables were delicious. Always have a good real ale on hand pump. The pudding's are very nice as well I had the plum crumble and my partner had the Guinness cake that was really good. Always busy need to in advance.

Lovely lunch out with my partner and Mother in Law - terrific food, wonderful service and lovely atmosphere. MiL (91) was offered a children’s portion as the normal ones are so generous and would be way too much for her! This help as she was stressing about wasting food. We’ll be back!

We were so surprised when we walked into the Gate at Troway. It is like stepping back in time and so lovely! A traditional country pub that has not been turned into a Gastro pub - thank goodness. The landlord and his staff are lovely and welcoming and I would recommend giving this place a try. A bit off the beaten track but well worth a visit. As far as I know, they dont do meals.

We have been a couple of times in recent months since our daughter moved near by and enjoyed it. We decided to go for Sunday lunch this time and weren't disappointed. We pre booked and were downstairs again in one of the lovely booths. Our waitress was lovely and attentive. Two of us shared a butchers block Sunday lunch another had roast turkey and the other a burger. All the meals came out quickly for saying how busy they were. The butchers block was fabulous. The meat was perfect and just the right amount of veg etc. We would definitely recommend it! Puddings were delicious! Baked alaska and syrup puddings. They were lovely! Will definitely be visiting again and would recommend it!

I haven't been to this pub for a few years as felt the food had gone downhill a little. Revisited with a friend for lunch. We tried the fish and chips and steak and ale pie. Both were good quality with proper big chips which appeared and tasted hand cut, not frozen. The fish was huge. I had to cut it in half and share. Nice moist fish and light crisp batter. Very nice. Food was served timely but not too quick, so obviously cooked to order. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Great choice of local brews. Had a local dry cider, very tasty. Will visit again. Pub is dog friendly.

I called off for a takeaway soya latte and was astonished at what I was charged. £4.20 is more than I've ever been charged for a coffee. I think £3.70 is more than enough to pay for a latte without an extra 50p for a dairy free option. I won't be going here again for my coffee.
