The best restaurants serving British food in North East Derbyshire East Midlands

We ate here last minute with family and it did not disappoint. We’ve ate here a few times and have always enjoyed it. The jacket potatoes are very nice and they have a good selection of cakes. It’s also dog friendly.

We went here for my daughters baby shower. Wow, what a venue for the occasion! Beautiful private room and the afternoon tea was fabulous. The staff couldn’t be any more accommodating, they really looked after us! Highly recommend!

This seems like a nice wee place with lovely people. I would have given 5 stars had it not been for the fact that my food was handled at the same time as handling money, with no hand washing or sanitiser. Sadly my food went in the bin after I left.

I had always been a regular customer & was so sad to find it has changed ownership. The quality of baking was always so good the bread cakes fantastic ,my husband always enjoyed their breakfast sandwiches.

Absolutely excellent Sunday Lunch. Very easy parking which you have to walk a short distance in pleasent surroundings upto the restaurant / hall. The drinks bar upon entering is very well stocked with extremely smart friendly staff. Seating is by round tables with traditional dining set up. The Sunday Lunch comes on a sharing platter with well presented and prepared meats. Accompanied by roasts & vegetables. Strong selection of gins, spirits & wine to go with your meal. Dress code appears to be smart dressed. A touch of class compared to the other local eating places in the area. A very nice feel away from the usual tourist brigade in the surrounding villages. Great staff, management. Table service . Excellent.

I'm new to the area and took a walk with my little dog, The Blue Bell Inn being our destination. It was such a cosy and friendly place to walk in to. The bar staff were incredibly friendly and got my doggo some fresh water. The folks on the table next to me were chatty and not at any point did I feel like a new kid on the block in a strictly locals spot. I will be making this my regular and look forward to bringing friends and family. We'll done team!

I'm afraid this establishment has gone down hill badly, which is a real pity. I suspect a change of management has resulted in cost savings so less staff and food not as good as it used to be. What do you expect when you try to do things on the cheap but charge customers a lot. We won't be back.

We got a takeaway from here on Friday night with all the family, we had a mixture of cod, chicken and mushroom pie, chicken nuggets, sausage and chips and all of course a chip shop curry sauce! The service was good but it gets very busy very fast. After you have ordered you get a fob that buzzes once your food is ready. It is a very good idea as you can wait outside so it doesn’t get too crowded. The food was 10/10 and well priced. Highly recommend if you are wanting a chippy tea!🍟

We first visited this little gem last year to watch a friend of ours in a band. We got a friendly reception from the lovely landlord and landlady. We found a table, got some drinks & were then joined by some locals who were also very welcoming! We had a great night, we chatted, laughed & enjoined the music so much we’ve been back lots since! The pizzas here are legendary, and there’s nothing nicer than a cold beer in the garden in the summer! It’s definitely one of our favourite music venues now.

A great experience from start to finish. Extensive selection of drinks and attentive (but not intrusive) staff. The Carvery offering is AMAZING - the best we've ever had.
