This is a really lovely pub, found it by chance while staying in the area. We were lucky enough to drop in on a monthly folk music evening, so much musical talent in the local area. There's also regular live music on a Saturday. The pub provides breakfast on Friday, Saturday and Sunday which we had twice during our stay. Good quality produce nicely cooked and incredible value. The hosts are lovely people, so friendly and their relaxed way really makes for an enjoyable visit. They also provide a camping area at the back of the pub so we'll return with our tent once the weather dries up.

After speaking to Jean on the phone to check availability for my camper van, I arrived to a very warm welcome. I was instantly aware of what a chilled vibe there is about this place, it's almost bohemian! I should have guessed that the lovely couple who run this great place are former bikers, as it's so friendly, just what I needed after a tough time, losing a family member recently. Tuesday night was homemade pizza night, made fresh to order and baked in their own pizza oven, it was absolutely delicious, I kid you not! The beer here is excellent also, they know how to look after real ales as well as a crisp, cold pint of lager! Dana, behind the bar is really bubbly and is very personable, you feel like you've known her for years, as u do with everyone else here, it is a lovely place! Rock n roll memorabilia from many of the greats as well as old vinyls adorn the walls in the raised pool table area, this pub has such character, it is well worth a visit or three for food and drink and just to relax n feel at home, which I certainly did, many thanks!

We visited today for a funeral wake. The hosts are so friendly and accommodating and offered a very personalised service, supplying great, home prepared and cooked food of our own choice, at a very reasonable price. Everyone in our party said how lovely the food was, and the function room and food area was nice and private, and facilities all spotless. The owners work very hard and our experience couldn't have been any better.

Really enjoyed our stay here, the hosts were very friendly from start to finish, they supplied us a gazebo so we could sit outside the tent which kept us all dry! There was a live band in the evening which we wasn’t expecting and was just another thing to help in a perfect stay. Very quiet, quaint and clean with all the facilities you require whilst camping. Breakfast was reasonably priced and was nice. Can’t really fault this place. Thank you for a great stay which enabled us to see old friends. 100% will be back next year!

Where do I start ! The pub is situated in the village of Morton in Derbyshire . The site is small and quiet and has the advantage of the pub which offers good pub grub and good selection of beers and ciders etc . However the selling point of this place are the owners, Jean and Mel and their staff Amazing! They truly love people and what they do and cannot do enough for you to make your stay enjoyable even come up to your van to see if you are ok and take drink and food orders . They also have a new shower room which is great . I will be going back and the locals are lovely thanks

Disappointed & surprised to read some people’s recent comments since we have always received a warm welcome whether popping in for a quick drink after a walk with the dogs or calling in for a bite to eat. Staff are always friendly and efficient. Food - smaller menu due to Covid restrictions at present is plentiful and tasty. Great homemade lasagne! Covid restrictions are in place, lots of signage and hand sanitiser - social distancing encouraged by one way system, well spaced out seating.

We had a lovely stay in our Motorhome for 1 night. The owners could not have been more helpful, great pitches and a very quiet nights sleep without being crammed or crowded. A few drinks in the pub and a breakfast in the morning, all made very easy. Lots of local walks and countryside near by. A very relaxing stay for 1 night. Would certainly stay again when in the Peak District . Thank you guys.

My brother camped here while we stayed further down the road in a cottage, they were first time campers so we went to help them set up, we also went for breakfast the next day. The couple who own this pub were so welcoming and friendly they couldn't have done any more to make their first camping trip go so well. When we all arrived for breakfast, again they were so friendly and welcoming, the food was fantastic value for money and was really nice! Had 2 young kids, older child and dog with us and nothing seemed to be a problem! Definitely somewhere I will be looking at going to camp!

We were staying near by in a cottage, given the circumstances we called the week before to see if they were open and allowed dogs. We were told yes, but not serving food. Having checked the website again the day before to make sure they adversities open at 4pm. A great walk up with my dog, on arrival at 4:40pm it didn’t look open but ventured around the back as the sign instructed. I was treated by three people sitting outside, when I asked if they were open I got a curt “not for another half hour yet” I replied okay, do you mind if I sit and wait, and the reply was “ well we are kind of in a meeting” I took the three of them sat outside enjoying a cigarette to mean no go away. So I polity advises them to change their website so no one else had to be disappointed and have the rude reception I got. So glad I didn’t make it inside if this was the welcome!!

I found the new landlords, Mal and Jean to be a lovely friendly couple. They make everyone from bikers/scooter clubs, walkers, dog owners and famiies feel welcome. I have had dinner there and the food was very tasty and great value for money. Its also good to see live music being put on each weekend with plans for outdoor events in the summer also being with a sizeable play area for kids. Camping facilities started by the last landlords will be available too. Overall a great pub to visit with friendly locals and good beer that is reasonably priced.

We found this pub by accident , whilst getting lost on our way to Pilsley on a Saturday afternoon. The lounge was set up for a private function, which according to my husband, was a good sign :) (Clearly the locals like the place.) Both the barmaid and the landlord were sympathetic towards our poor sense of direction and both were lovely, friendly people. We had lunch in the bar area and the barmaid was lovely and attentive. The food was simple, but satisfying and just what we needed. My husband had the quarter pounder, which was so filling, that he struggled to eat later that night. All in all, this pub was a happy find . We would be glad to get lost here again :)

We went to have breakfast and Easter egg hunt, great breakfast ! including sarcastic comments for saying you don’t want tomato or someone else said no beans. Children went to children’s park which they have. We had three children one little girl in a pushchair, another little three year old little girl and one four year old little boy that has autism and classed as disabled, they found the polystyrene eggs but we put them straight back and the children never touched them again only to be told by the owners in an unhappy manner the children had spoilt everything and could we not keep them under control.

Called here on 29th June. Lady behind bar friendly and efficient. On arrival ordered one chilli con carne and one red Thai curry with a side order of cheesy garlic bread. When the meal arrived our initial disappointment at the poor presentation of the food paled into insignificance on tasting each dish. My partner's chilli had no tomatoes or actual meat in it. All it consisted of was a mass of soya or quorn and beans. My Thai curry was even worse and inedible, a mass of cubes of synthetic chicken floating in a florescent orange gloupy source that must have come out of a jar. It made uncle Ben's look like fine dining. There were other people dining and so out of courtesy to them, having tried the food, we left and decided to ring the pub back later to give them feedback. On calling back we spoke to a man who was initially hostile. Once I had explained to him just how poor the food served had been he did apologize and said that we should return on another occasion when they would endeavour to put things right. There is absolutely no way we would visit this place again even if it were free. One to cross off your list.

After living in the village since 1996, I thought we should pop in on a quiet night to see if we might like it enough to go on a quiz or event night. We were met at the door by a well dressed man smoking by the door. I greated him with the normal "alright fella" with an accompanying smile, to be stared at and ignored, we thought never mind. We walked into the lounge bar to discover that the well dressed man was actually the bar man. He spoke to a man at the bar and left us hanging. So we left and will never go back and will tell anyone who asks exactly what we think about it. "A local bar for local people" guess we were not local enough

Delicious food and always great beer here. The staff are lovely and the buildings are beautifully kept both inside and out. Outside, there's a nice beer garden and a covered wooden decked area which is lovely on a summer's evening with the "Crooked Spire" of Chesterfield visible in the distance. The log burner makes the inside toasty in the colder months and the low ceilings, oak beams and pretty lighting create a lovely atmosphere. The Blue Bell Inn is definitely worth a visit.
