Absolutely wonderful cafe, with an unbeatable location right by the scenic fishing lakes and nearby to plenty of local walks. Muddy boots and dogs are welcome, and there is outdoor seating for the warmer months, and plenty of indoor seating with a log fire burning in the colder months. The breakfast is to die for, and the cheese on toast is epic. Don’t expect fancy coffees, but very decent filter coffee, various types of tea, hot chocolate and a wide choice of cold drinks what more could you want?! I also hear that Spring through Autumn they are open on Friday and Saturday evenings and you can bring your own alcohol which would be a lovely way to spend a summers evening. Highly recommend visiting here in the way to or from a walk, where you’ll find a warm welcome and lovely friendly atmosphere. oh and they have a 5 star hygiene rating which is always good to see!

You don’t have to be fishing to use this cafe and sit in its tranquil setting over looking the fishing ponds. Stopped here during a bike ride and was quite surprised by how good it was for a small cafe beside a fishing pond. There are indoor and outdoor seating, dog friendly and toilets. The place is spotless and the staff were friendly and just fab. We ordered drinks and each had a sausage, bacon and egg bap/cob/roll. They arrived in the little trays (picture) with the surprise extra of a little hash brown and tomatoes. It was well cooked, tasted great and wasn’t expensive. I will definitely be stopping again in the future. Thanks from the three old mountain bikers.

Solo comimos una vez allí, pero habíamos jurado que si estuviéramos en el distrito en el futuro sería nuestro lugar al que ir. La comida en nuestra visita estaba bien preparada y bien presentada, y esperamos volver. Qué vergüenza para ellos.

Delicious food and always great beer here. The staff are lovely and the buildings are beautifully kept both inside and out. Outside, there's a nice beer garden and a covered wooden decked area which is lovely on a summer's evening with the "Crooked Spire" of Chesterfield visible in the distance. The log burner makes the inside toasty in the colder months and the low ceilings, oak beams and pretty lighting create a lovely atmosphere. The Blue Bell Inn is definitely worth a visit.
