The best restaurants serving British food in Melton East Midlands

We visited for lunch and were all very happy with our meal, it is great value for money and really lovely food, great quality meat and so hot and tasty, we have already booked to come next time.

Excellent simple food with attentive service in good surroundings I had the spiced pumpkin soup which was home made and served with a choice of gluten free breads

Out of all the places we have been (and that is many) this the ONLY place where we have sat during the meal and booked our next visit for asap. Can't wait to return in May! Super unique and fresh flavours and dishes

Picked up a large order of breakfast rolls all different sorts and cooked fresh then. Everyone enjoyed them and have been back personally myself since.

Had a great lunch on Sunday.tho extremely busy... We were told we had the table until 2pm. Which we needed as i had to queue for some time to bdt my carvery.. All was good. Do enjoy The Crowns carvery.. Thank you Christine and TeAm

Excellent little cafe. Popped in after an art workshop in Twyford for lunch. Staff gave a very warm welcome despite being busy, service and food was brilliant. Even better they had a great selection of gluten free options for Coeliacs, they clearly knew how to accommodate for this and could see they were very conscientious. Amazing selection of cakes, and not just the usual gluten free brownie for those of us with dietary needs. Would highly recommend.

After years of travelling up and down the A1, on Sunday morning I turned off and visited Melton Mowbray in search for a pork pie. I was surprized that the High Street was not full of pork pie shops. But on a back street I found this charming little cafe. An excellent cup of coffee and I purchased a traditional pie, which |i took home and later had for my tea. Well worth the detour.

Great food, attentive friendly service from Katie. Recommend fish pie, steak& kidney suet pud, fish and chips and wonderful sticky toffee pud! .. Will come again.

Best chips in the world. I don't live in the UK any longer but when I come back I always make sure to go to Nicko's. It's almost worth the 12 hour flight just for their chips!

A wonderful meal with excellent service, we were made to feel welcomed from the moment we arrived

I got told to leave after taking my dog and sitting OUTSIDE. I then was told I could finish my food first. When I pointed out there are no signs saying dogs aren't allowed outside. They got funny with me and said " well you know for next time".

We were recommended The Grange by a friend to try breakfast and we were glad we stopped off here! We were on our way to Nottingham for the day so decided to stop at the Grange on the way for breakfast. We loved the set up and the décor of the restaurant, French ski chalet style! The fire was going and it felt so cosy, we could see it was clearly a popular place with all the table reservations for lunch set up. We had The Grange Breakfast Muffin and the Light English Breakfast with two americanos. The food was very nice and the staff were very pleasant. We will definitely return to have breakfast again and try some lunch dishes too.

JUST HAD LUCH. MAIN COURSE AND DESSERT ALL EXCELLENT

Some friends and I went to the crown for a meal and a catch-up. The food was tasty but nothing mind blowing. The waitress we were served by was painfully loud, wouldn’t stop shouting across the pub to communicate when there was absolutely no need and continuously chased and got chased around by the manager (seemingly arguing), in and out the kitchen, disappearing for 5 minutes at a time so my group and other customers were left wondering where the staff were. what a shame.

Really good but simple pub grub at lunchtime. Very quiet when we went . Staff very friendly
