Had tapas. All excellent and very tasty. I am gluten intolerant and often feel quite restricted, so its really nice to have choices.

We visited for Sunday. Lunch quality food is good, but portion size is small price.

Sunday Lunch at The Bell didn’t disappoint. A very busy Sunday Lunchtime service but the serving staff were friendly, the draught beer excellent and one of the best Sunday lunches ever. Only minor niggle might be that it was very hot in the dining area but that didn’t matter really. Prices reasonable considering the excellent quality of the food and drinks.

Delicious food, awesome staff and a nice pub atmosphere. Highly recommend to anyone and will definitely be heading back. Thank you ❤️.

Lovely quaint little place, a proper English pub, I'd say. It's definitely worth visiting, especially in summer as the beer garden is wonderful. Great selection of beers, but I would look up what food they are selling as it does change depending on the day, we went for a ribs and wings night, and they were delicious 😋

Three of us shared 4 different 'light bites' and they were all absolutely delicious. We sat in the front pub garden under a parasol surrounded by lavender beds and white roses. A truly delightful evening on a warm sunny summer evening.

Last minute booking - not a problem for Jamie-Lee. After collecting parents (who live more locally), we ended up very early. No problem, sat down, pondered substantial menu over drinks (inc very well kept real ale). Pie of the day (Lamb n mint), came with fluffy mash and greens - salmon on pea and crayfish risotto (specials board) which pa refused to share - ham n cheese pannini, and I had the gammon which came with all the trimmings and delish onion rings. My partner was checking my egg for runnyness (with a chip) and we were asked if all was ok. When we explained, she was offered her own egg - fab service. Parents will no doubt be back before we get chance, but with a place so welcoming and great ambience they have a winner.

Fantastic sunday lunch. Party of 9, all food came out together and was delicious. Only issue was that there was only minimal veg on the plate. Healthier veg amount would make it easily 5*. Excellent value for money.

So proud that this is my local. The food is absolutely outstanding, and the service is 10/10. If you find something to moan about, I would be blown away. The Caribbean food is the best, and it's nice to have a variety of options in a small local pub. The parking is limited, so this does mean that you have to park on the roads in the village, but don't let that put you off. It's worth a short walk, and I love that our village pub is booming and doing so well! Jamie-Lee and Fam, you're smashing it! ❤️

Called in for the first time in a number of years. I heard it had reopened after closure during 'lockdown' and the Covid period, so, with a friend decided on a re-visit. Called in on a Thursday lunchtime. Not busy but a full menu including a 'Specials' board was available. A warm greeting behind the bar led to a couple of drinks and perusal of the menu. Lots of choice - we settled for sharing a selection of Tapas dishes coupled with two glasses of House red wine. Tapas was generous in portion size and delicious in taste. Plenty of tasty morsels for two gentlemen enjoying a light lunch. Service was excellent and the decor conducive to a re-furbished country pub. At one time it was a favourite of ours and we will certainly be back in the near future to experience a 'proper meal'.

Our favourite pub to go to for sitting in a pub garden. In a lovely little village setting. It has been spruced up a bit lately but still retains it rustic charm.

Been to The Bell quite a few times, every time has been wonderful. The food is the best in any pub nearby, the bar area has loads of atmosphere, the staff are brilliant, and it’s reasonably priced. Can’t really ask for more! Particularly recommend the blade of beef or the pork belly - both are fantastic. The tapas are also really good, especially the calamari. Desserts are also great, the affogato is a firm favourite! The lunch menu is also a belter. Really just an all round great pub!! Very highly recommend!

The Sunday lunch was to die for! Perfectly cooked roast beef, crispy roast potatoes and gravy to die for. All complemented by an excellent wine list that offers quality and value.

Pub food, mostly well executed and very reasonably priced. Tapas presentation could be better (tasted fine though) but main meals were very good.

Four of us went for the Valentine’s Day menu. It was a memorable meal. Scallops were perfect and the lamb tender and deliciously pink. Thank you we were so well looked after and highly recommend to all.

Never had a bad meal. Delicious home cooked food with an extensive menu that changes with the seasons. Plus a warm welcome. Haven’t found anywhere else locally that matches this place! Our go to for a meal as a couple or with family and friends.

We came for Sunday lunch my Fiancée and her parents. A very warm welcome lovely decor and tastefully done, really enjoyed it fantastic delicious superbly cooked food, presentation on the plate perfect. All dinner plates clean as was desserts. Overall very impressed and we will definitely return.

Our group of eight enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch at The Bell. The young staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient. Drinks and food ordered were brought to the table in a very reasonable time. Staff remained unobtrusively attentive throughout. Given what we consumed and enjoyed the bill represented excellent value for money. We'll be there again!

Called yesterday to book Sunday lunch with family for my birthday as a friend had said how nice the food was here. The lady had to check and came back to me to say it was fine. Turned up at 2.30 and advised a young girl who said she was just trying to see where they were going to seat everyone and walked off. Got a drink and advised another lady we had a booking bearing in mind it was now 2.45 and she said they had no booking, after looking in another book she told me they had booked me in for 2 not 6. My birthday meal with family and they got it wrong. No apology just a “I’ll see what I can do”. Spoke to another family who had a table for 1pm and were still waiting on their meal. It was very busy and the food that came out looked lovely but it was clear they couldn’t cope with the amount of bookings they had taken as the area at the side of the bar was full of people waiting for a table who had been there for an hour. We called and got in at another pub which was amazing. I’m sorry but to blame me for booking in 2 people when I was clearly booking to go with family. Poor service and poor attitudes from clearly stressed people. Don’t be greedy taking too many bookings if you can’t cope as you will lose customers. I would say it ruined my birthday but where we went were amazing, another Bell Inn but in Gumley. Relaxed atmosphere even though they were busy they were all very friendly and the food was beautiful.book here instead as you will get a better attitude from the people you are giving your hard earns cash to.

This pub was once a lost cause. Now it’s back. Great atmophere nice staff good food good beer. This was and now is one of the best pubs to go to.

A lot of effort has been made to bring this pub back to where it should be. Quality food and a charming interior.

Absolutely fantastic hosting from this family venue, food was outstanding. The time in-between courses was not to long but long enough allow for one's food to digest. A real homely pub feel to the place. Great value for money. I will be visiting this venue again, from burger to Salmon to Carribean fare the quality was great.

Where to start...... Jamie-Leigh and her staff are excellent. We arrived in Burton Overy on a Friday evening, we had pre-planned The Bells Gyros and fries to be brought up to the house we were renting at approximately 9.30pm. Right on cue Jamie-Leigh turned up with our food, hot and delicious. We had also pre-arranged for a 3pm Sunday lunch, two days later. We arrived at 2pm to allow us a glass of pre-dinner wine. When we walked into the barn room to take our seats, Jamie-Leigh had noticed, after her visit on Friday, that we were there the weekend to celebrate a birthday. Without any requests she and her staff had decorated the table with balloons which was just the lovliest thought and much appreciated. On to the lunch itself, well it was just superb. Lots of veg, plenty of meat all hot and extremely tasty. The service was excellent with the staff being attentive and helpful. It was just delicious. I had lamb and beef all beautifully tender. We moved on to dessert. Three of us (as we were so full) went for the creme brule and the sticky toffee pudding, both of which were amazing. Thank you so much all at The Bell, you were all just great and what an absolute find you were for me and my friends. Please try if in the area you will not be disappointed

I live in Texas but grew up near here. This is hands down my favorite place for dinner or lunch when I visit my family. Jamie always makes sure we are well taken care, and treats us like old friends when we return. The food is top quality, and I eat in many different cities and countries. I always make reservations to go when my next trip to England comes around.

We've eaten here several times now, which speaks volumes as I am really fussy, and a good cook myself, so expect high standards. This place never disappoints. The food is delicious! The menu varied and exciting and the draught beer great. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The pub is just beautiful, so cosy and comfortable. Perfect! Go and try it, you won't be disappointed!

A fabulous experience! Dropped by the Bell following a Leicestershire walk. What a great experience !! The place looks great ! The garden a sun trap but surrounded by nature trees and beautiful plants. Howe er what was the piece de resistance was the food and the service. Jamaya and Daisy were attentive and nothing any trouble for them. The food was just awesome. Wholesome, full of flavour and beautifully presented. An overall great end to a mornings walk. Went to the Bell Saturday lunchtime, the food was lovely. I had the Lamb, Pea and Mint pie......... by far the best pie I have ever had. The service was excellent too.

Knew this pub had changed hands and had heard good reviews. We were bitterly disappointed. There was a distinct lack of atmosphere, in fact when we went through to eat in the back room we were the only four eating. Food was very average all vegetables and Yorkshire pudding being grossly over cooked. Guess they were cooked earlier in the day and kept warm. The only good part about the Sunday Lunch was the quality and cooking of the meat and generous portions. We had to ask to look at the wine list and were amazed at what we were presented with………. a hand written list of wines on a tatty torn piece of paper and only one of the wines had a price by it. We made our choice of red wine only for the waitress to come back and say sorry we don’t have that one, I think we are awaiting delivery of new stock. Shocking considering it was the Kings Coronation weekend. To confirm ……. we have no intention of coming back and will definitely NOT recommend.

We love this pub. The food is excellent pub grub, the staff are amazing, and the beers and wines top notch. The Timmy Taylor’s in particular is splendid. And it is great value. But….drives me nuts the beer glasses aren’t properly cleaned. Lots of bubbles tell you they haven’t. It’s quite off putting. Use a proper beer glass cleaning solution and then I’ll give you 6/5! Women behind the bar was wearing a tracksuit and had an attitude after asking for a menu who seemed to be the chef spoke to me in shorts with a scruffy fosters T shirt and told me they had 2 fish based starters and ONLY roast chicken for a Sunday dinner POOR customer service POOR menu options and by the looks of things POOR kitchen hygiene. Staying in the area so popped for a meal. We'll what a lovely surprise, we had we ended up having a 3 course meal and omg it was absolutely beautiful, starter was a prawn cocktail with a twist, with mango sauce and avacardo slices instead of Marie sauce it was beautiful, main course was beef bourguignon, beef was lovely and tender and the flavour was stunning, the chef came to check that everything was OK, he was 17yrs old and so plsd and proud of our feedback, what a chef he will be in the future and one to watch! Our meal ended with Eton mess a favourite of mine, just as good as the rest of our meal. Definately worth a visit. The staff were all lovely and friendly, considering it was our first time there we felt like old friends, beautiful!!
