Kettleby Cross in Melton

Had breakfast with grandchildren toast not cooked eggs were broken second rate bacon sausage no explanation from staff

Like all weatherspoons, brilliant quick service and good food..cannot fault.

Nice place , for a drink and something to eat , only down side is that there're not enough chairs to go round all the tables

Just nipped in for a pint and a coffee after visiting the popular Melton Mowbray market. The pub was very busy but I didn't have to wait long to be served due to enough friendly efficient staff on duty. Lovely pub , good value food and drink, there is a pay and display car park directly opposite.

'Spoons' prices and quality. Nice and clean, polite staff.

Had the big breakfast mine was hot on receiving, staff friendly, my partner had small breakfast said not very warm she did tell staff member after eating 🙄 they did apologise, no complaints from me 👍

Called in for a breakfast, fast service but all sites of this chain can’t seem to keep food hot. I know it’s not cooked to order but hot plates or lights over food are common nowadays. A part from that it’s a good pub, they all have a great choice of beers at good prices. The Cross is on a main road but the is a public car park across the street (can get busy at peak times)..

Only had coffee , staff friendly . Large car park opposite free on Sunday . Typical spoons pub !!

We had the full English breakfast, appalling! Bacon was cremated, as was fried egg, Hash browns were so drenched with burnt on unchanged cooking oil and beans were burnt. The whole breakfast was a waist of money !! I adressed the manager he didn't seem remotely bothered what so ever !!!!!

Cheap and cheerful, friendly pub with an excellent range of food and drink, and lovely glamorous loos for the ladies.

As expected, Wetherspoons is cheap and cheerful. On this occasion, the lighting was great and incredibly atmospheric plus the service was great by the manager.

Service was great. Food not so good Steak 50%fat. My half chicken was two pieces 1okay. The other to hard to cut with a knife. As I'd eaten more than half of my meal I didn't make any fuss. We will not be eating here again 😔

Had a basic Ham ,egg , chips . Was well cooked and presented. Place could be tidied a little quicker , quite a number of tables needed clearing . Place was warm and that was good on a cold day .

It's a spoons so you have a good idea what you'll get. Food and drinks are good value even if they sometimes seem to struggle to get food to the table hot. Bar service is generally prompt as is using the app. Main thing that niggles is that they are very slow at cleaning up and there are usually lots of tables littered with dirty plates and glasses.On my visit today an adjacent table had dirty plates and glasses on it when we arrived which were still there when we left after our meal.

Typical Wetherspoons pub clean and tidy service good food reasonable.

Perfect for a quick cheap and cheerful lunch, Fish, Chips and Mushy peas were great

Coctails are so good. Also very large area they have. I like it. Dont forget to get tropical coctail.

We visited The Kettleby Cross in April 2023. It’s a fairly large pub, with an open interior and a large raised seating area to one side, decorated with bookshelves and fireplaces for a traditional and welcoming feel. To the front is an outside seating area, however it sits beside one of Melton Mowbray’s main roads, making it a rather loud and somewhat unpleasant beer garden. Food unfortunately was only Luke warm ,pasta was hard and crunchy and other people were also sending food back .perhaps not a good day for the cook

Go to various wetherspoons in Leicester my favourite the white house at scraptoft. Went to the Kettleby cross in Melton pre pantomime on Sunday ordered the chicken tikka masarla. lumps of hard chicken. Naan bread was more like a crisp bread and the poppadoms absolutely covered in oil. No staff came to table to check if everything was OK.. what a shocking meal and total waste of good earned money will not be back.

Went to Melton Mowbray for the day. Took my sister into Weatherspoons for the first time. We both thoroughly enjoyed it.

I’m vegan and ordered a vegan meal Mangelorean curry. It arrived and had chicken in it 😱😱 spoke to a young lady called Mullen whose response was immediate she removed the chicken meal and sorted it out. Thank you soooooo much you were amazing xx well done Melton Mowbray weatherspoons xxxxx

Good Spoon's. Bustling, yet relaxed atmosphere.

First time we have been to the kettlleby cross, Had a gourmet sirloin steak medium rare, it was absolutely beautiful, best streak I've had, hubby had mix grill which also was gorgeous, service was great and staff very friendly,would highly recommend :) :)

Spoons so cheap, fast efficient. Cleaner than some, definitely more light than many I've eaten in. It's a shame the garden is open to the main road but won't hold that against them. Will certainly stop of for lunch next time in area

Usual Wetherspoons and a good view ouybidbthw window to watch any tour bus arrive. Opposite the Melton theatre car park so you can nip in for a beer and food before the show. Tables needed a wipe tho but it was busy. Good disabled access and access toilet is below the staircase and it is locked so pleased about that as its cleaner that way. You'll need your radar key or ask at the bar. Some Wetherspoons disabled toilets are open and used by able bodied people not wanting to go up the stairs but these were locked so not blocked for disabled use. Usual toilets are upstairs. Friendly staff and would go again. Meals cooked very well and woth a drink thrown in.

Had a lovely meal, some of the chairs were ripped in places, could do with a redecoration and refit, but meal was very nice and tasty and hot!

Usual wetherspoons crazy low prices and good service

It's the usual Wetherspoons. They all look the same pretty much and the food is standard. The (free or cheap) coffee and tea refills are a good deal. The downstairs accessibility toilet could have been cleaner.

Waited over 40 mins for 2 breakfasts, kept chasing serving staff, food was cold and very poor quality, go elsewhere 😑

Halfway meet between us and our family. Can't really fault it here. Great service. Quick service. Food had always been decent too. Only issue....its not dog friendly. But unfortunately they don't appear to follow these rules. I was annoyed to see dogs there as I'd like to bring mine.

First time ever our food was cold

Food was awful, 3 steaks ordered all of them where cold, sent back and still came back just about warm, not a good experience at all. The staff don’t check if your food is ok to go out, even after of being sent back, so really bad service. The place itself is nice. And we did get a refund. But would go back.

Great place in the summer to eat outside - with a car park opposite (free for motorcycles). Vast food menu - but service was very slow evening we visited (35 minutes for 2x desserts). Would come again.

Thank you so much to the kind waitress today who moved heaven and earth to get a dessert my little one would like. Phenomenal service provided. Can't thank you enough and I have one very happy little one.

Rubish breakfast Poached eggs were more like hard boiled Asked for runny egg on traditional breakfast was harder than the tarmac outside. I know it’s cheap but come on if you can’t cook an egg choose another career Sorry wouldn’t recommend any dish.

Travel from Castleford now & then to see family, always eat here .. cheap & cheerful

Lovely Wetherspoons, good location and service

Typical Spoons in terms of drink and food. However, it appears to be a relatively new building which in my experience is unlike your typical Spoons.

My husband and I had delicious breakfast which I truly loved every moment of it, as I enjoy 3 different menus, loved the efishent way we were served, well done to all staff and thanks.

My partner and I come most Tuesdays to Melton for breakfast we had the traditional today which was the worst we have had for a long time cold toast cold greasy hash browns cold beans under cooked bacon hope they improve on this next time

Lovely staff very helpful great food.

The building interior looks tired & dated. Requires a total makeover. Dust build up under tables doesn't help.. No rush to go back anytime soon
