Great pub for music, just a bit small inside. Service always with a smile.

Disgraceful Sunday dinner. We arrived promptly and sat down at our table. The children and elderly relative managed to get their dinner and then a very large table stood in the queue to get their food. The young man cutting the meat struggled with his duty and this made the long queue even longer. As this queue went down it was obvious no one was refilling the vegetables and potatoes or gravy and guests were having to ask for this food to be brought out. They then ran out of vegetables so anyone in the queue was unlucky and why half our table did not eat. The young staff appeared directionless with no supervisor or Manager present. I was told the restaurant Manager was not in so was not able to complain as a lot of people were doing. The staff were not clearing plates in due time or even going to tables to ask if anyone wanted anything. Came to this carvery on recommendation but will not be returning. Ended up getting a Chinese takeaway!!!

Good food, but expensive and sometimes let down by the waiting staff. Bill is the front of house manager and is very welcoming.

10/10 service, a great end to Mother’s Day

Evening meal, table of 4 Starters, Steak, lamb & puddings all served by staff who were very attentive. Food was amazing 5 stars 🌟

We had a birthday party there last night, what a fantastic night, the food was delicious and to bring 32 meals out all hot and lovely, you should be very proud of yourselves, amazing job, friendly staff, thank you so much ❤️

Kelvin was a very helpful gentleman and helped me when I was stuck in a rut, Consider this man with more value than you already would because he goes the extra mile. I was happy with my drinks and service all the way with no doubts. 😁

Very warm welcome and lovely staff. Made us all at home, including the dog. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. We will definitely be returning.

Feel lucky to have this lovely pub/restaurant close to us. Have visited for both lunch and more recently dinner and the food is always hot delicious. Beautifully cooked steak, pizzas and pies packed with delicious fillings. The sharing boards are ideal as a starter for two. Always friendly, and helpful service too. Looking forward to going back.

I visited here recently for lunch and had the chicken katsu. It was absolutely delicious – the flavors were spot on, and the chicken was perfectly cooked. The service was exceptional as well, with Chloe and Mai going above and beyond to make the experience even better. They were both friendly, attentive, and really added to the warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Very poor, on arrival we were presented with a separate comprehensive Sunday lunch menu. After perusing (8 people) we made our choice to be told NON of the Sunday lunch menu was available. So why give us that menu? The staff were all youngsters when seemed to spend most of their time messing about being the bar. Nobody came to the table during our meal to ask if we were happy etc. The pub has been done up and is quite nice but you need staff who behave as if they have had a degree of training. The food that we had wasn't actually all that bad for the price but as an experience it was really poor.

Visited last night for a pre Christmas meal with friends. I have to say the food was superb. Reading other reviews it appears that this place has been hit with several problems recently. Last night the previous owner was waiting on tables as staff were off ill. It was very quiet unfortunately which obviously had a bearing on the atmosphere. Don’t let past events and bad reviews put you off as I believe this place under normal circumstances is a hidden gem.
