The best restaurants serving British food in Hinckley and Bosworth East Midlands

I stayed for one night whilst attending an event at the nearby Mallory Park Circuit, it was well up to the usual Green King standard. I was warned at check in that food service may be slow, it was. Staff were I suppose efficient, but certainly not friendly, a simple smile would go a long way.

Was quiet when we went, lunchtime. The bar staff member explained the kitchen was being renovated, no food service that day, so we just had a coffee and a coke. Nice straightforward place with good parking

Disgraceful Sunday dinner. We arrived promptly and sat down at our table. The children and elderly relative managed to get their dinner and then a very large table stood in the queue to get their food. The young man cutting the meat struggled with his duty and this made the long queue even longer. As this queue went down it was obvious no one was refilling the vegetables and potatoes or gravy and guests were having to ask for this food to be brought out. They then ran out of vegetables so anyone in the queue was unlucky and why half our table did not eat. The young staff appeared directionless with no supervisor or Manager present. I was told the restaurant Manager was not in so was not able to complain as a lot of people were doing. The staff were not clearing plates in due time or even going to tables to ask if anyone wanted anything. Came to this carvery on recommendation but will not be returning. Ended up getting a Chinese takeaway!!!

Good food, but expensive and sometimes let down by the waiting staff. Bill is the front of house manager and is very welcoming.

We went for supper on what was the hottest day so far this year. The staff were smart in appearance, the garden neat and tidy. Staff clearing the tables regularly. The food was absolutely delicious, chicken kebab then the roast lamb. Good helpings and sadly no room for dessert. We were in the garden all evening.

Just had a lovely Lunch and cheesecake at the Coach and Horses, lovely Atmosphere with lovely service and smile from Martha

We had a birthday party there last night, what a fantastic night, the food was delicious and to bring 32 meals out all hot and lovely, you should be very proud of yourselves, amazing job, friendly staff, thank you so much ❤️

Went for a family meal. Normally the food is great but this time it was a bit of a let down. The stakes were grisselly, and the coleslaw tasted off so I didn't eat anymore. There was a mix up with the gluten free deserts. 3 were ordered and when they did come round they said they didn't have that option left so they could have crumble instead. Only one was brought out and said there wasn't any more ordered. They corrected it for us in the end. I had the donut for pudding and it was DELICIOUS. Overall the staff are nice, the place is clean and this is the first of many times going and never had any problems at all. The prices are great for food and drinks. Had some lovely cocktails.

Visited for a early mothers day treat. Food beautiful as ever, ordered steak and ale pie and pizza. So morish and filling. Would reccomended The Royal Redgate, its a must visit.

Booked here for dinner as I was staying near by.Venue is nicely decorated and welcoming.Monday night, so was very quiet which suited me so I can't say how good service would be if busier but it was fine for my needs.Food was good ,average price for the type of menu but all was tasty. Lemon Cheesecake was very nice and decent sized slice. Would eat here again.

Elegido aquí para la cena del domingo con la familia. Ligeramente decepcionado ya que el personal parecía estar atento cuando llegamos por primera vez y luego nos sentimos abandonados. El pedido fue tomado para la comida después de 15 minutos de llegar, pero luego tuvo que esperar casi una hora para nuestra red y tuvo que preguntar como cada otra mesa estaban comiendo. La comida llegó y era abundante, sin embargo, se sirvió tibia en lugar de caliente. Creemos que nos habían olvidado. Volverá en una fecha posterior y espero recibir un servicio más atento la próxima vez.

Visited last night for a pre Christmas meal with friends. I have to say the food was superb. Reading other reviews it appears that this place has been hit with several problems recently. Last night the previous owner was waiting on tables as staff were off ill. It was very quiet unfortunately which obviously had a bearing on the atmosphere. Don’t let past events and bad reviews put you off as I believe this place under normal circumstances is a hidden gem.

Fabulous tearoom but the menu is mainly sandwiches and cakes , no hot food was available that I could see. Great hospitality though in a great setting.
