Corner Cafe in Hinckley and Bosworth

This is a great place for good old fashioned home cooked breakfast Great team and friendly service everything cooked to order and hot also hot plates just the way it should be! Would recommend this to anyone seeking the above Dave( retired fireman)

A group of us were going away for the weekend so decided to meet and have breakfast in the Corner Cafe as not been in since it moved across the road. First issue was all of us ordered a full English at £8 including tea and butter, seemed pretty reasonable. However when 2 of the party got back to the table they realised they had been charged £10.40. We quickly realised it was because they wanted a coffee not a tea? I looked at the menu to see a tea was £1.70 and coffee £2.40 so surely if they actually want to charge extra for the coffee an upgrade is only 70p.I know it’s only £2.40 but on principle we asked them if it was a mistake ,only to be told that’s how it works, you pay the full price for coffee not just for an upgrade.Quite frankly that is a rip off. When the breakfasts arrived, all our beans were lukewarm at best but the majority were cold.2 of us said they couldn’t be bothered to return the breakfast and wait but we took ours back.A lady then approached the table asking how our beans were cold but our friends were not when they all came out the same pot, she was quite abrupt. When our breakfasts were returned it was clear they had just thrown the whole breakfast in the microwave and basically nuked the breakfast so everything was pretty much over cooked, the bacon was totally nuked. At that stage we had had enough, just ate what we could and left, never to return.Plenty of breakfast options nearby to give our business to.

Was good but just lately disappointing. Not value for money only the owner is really welcoming others don't interact

Still sat here bored while writing this. Drinks came straight out, but still waiting for food nearly 45 minutes later. Need another drink to go with it now!

Half the food turned up but waited a while for the rest of the food, not good if you all want to eat together. Had to ask where the toast was, it turned up after we had eaten the breakfast. Have used a few times but find it's gone up in price, plenty of cafes to choose from in town. Won't return I found the young lad serving the food quite rude.

I went there 2 seperate times, both with my grandad, one with one sister, one with both of my sisters. The first time it was just the single small building. During that first visit, the owner was very rude to my oldest sister when she got up to order because there was nothing to say you had to go up or wait, he shooed her away rather rudely. I ordered a strawberry milkshake and the Mac and Cheese with chips... The 'cheese' on my mac and cheese was milky water. It was basically soup, it made my chips soggy and had no viscosity, the milkshake was alright and I didn't send anything back because I've had worse. The second time, the most recent time and the time that happened earlier the day I'm writing this, we went there after it had expanded to the building across the road. It was alright at first and I got the Caramel Iced Coffee, Brie Omlette and Strawberry cheesecake. My sister ordered the Chocolate Iced Coffee, Brie Omlette also and the regular cheesecake. While her Chocolate Iced Coffee was mixed, my Caramel one was not. The Omlette's were nice, mushrooms were suspiciously crunchy but like I said, I'm not picky, so I still ate them. Now... The Cheesecakes were another story entirely... Starting with the least disgusting thing... My sister's regular cheesecake had obviously been microwaved, it was frozen on the inside but warm on the outside. MOVING ONTO MY CHEESECAKE! For starters, the base was soggy, like... soggy soggy, I brushed it off and kept eating, even giving my sister a bite, the mixture itself had a kinda grainy texture and that makes sense considering it was mouldy.... Not even joking, there was mould on it. I saw the white spots when it came out but I brushed it off as sugar but when I saw seafoam green on a STRAWBERRY cheesecake... I took a better look. FURTHERMORE when we told the owner, the same one that had been incredibly rude to my sister on a previous occasion, he took my spoon and mixed the cheesecake up, likely to cover any mould so that we couldn't take any pictures... well... he was too late, I'd already taken pictures of the green mould, the furry white spots and the plate as a whole, stiring it up just allowed me and my family to see just how lumpy and curdled the rest of the cheesecake was. He then proceeded to rub my back like that would make me feel any better. Needless to say, I feel sick to my core and my family and I are not going there again and we are spreading the world because having a soggy cheesecake is one thing... BUT A MOULDY ONE IS A ON A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL!!

Favourite place to eat in Hinckley !! Just amazing, always make up welcome, nothing is too much trouble. We always come here for breakfast and eat time we enjoy it. Now moved to a bigger venue, would always come here and wouldn’t go nowhere else. Would highly rec come by a visit !

Lots of people went up to complain about wait times. One man was saying he had waited 40 minutes for a drink, another 1 hour for food. We waited around 10-15 minutes for our drinks, which were nice, however service was slow and didn't have the cosy cafe vibe I look for. We did not order food.

This is my go to cafe in Hinckley. The service is quick and the owner is really nice. The food is definitely better than most fry ups I’ve had in the area. Just a harmless simple cafe. My only criticism is the place needs a little maintenance, seems to be coming apart a little bit in places!

Brilliant Sunday morning breakfast before the dreaded weekly shop 👍👍👍 Will be visiting a lot more often

The Best breakfast anywhere. Fantastic food, and a great host, you could not wish for better service. We love the place and are regular customers. The coffee and food is always nice and hot and thoroughly enjoyable. We highly recommend the Corner Cafe.

I’v had many breakfasts here and always been really happy with the taste, temperature and the quality of the food. Place is clean and so is the cutlery and plates. It’s a true ,’ greasy spoon’, cafe without the grease. Get in early 6-7.30 for the free nearby parking on the town centre road just opposite and with the friendly service you will definitely keep coming back as I do.

Tonight we have had a mixed meat platter on a bed of rice, lovely flavours and presented beautifully (no photo as the kids couldn't wait to dig in!) Home made hummus and cacik with fresh bread-amazing! Side salads and chips to top it all off. The meal was superb Thankyou

Visited the Corner Cafe today and was so impressed with the customer service and food quality, felt they deserved a review. The Manager went out of his way to direct us over the phone,when we got hopelessly lost, and when we eventually arrived made us feel very welcome. Food and coffees were excellent, cooked to perfection and decent portions. Good old fashioned customer service is still alive and kicking at The Corner Cafe. Staff were chatty and friendly. We will return. Thoroughly recommended!

this is a all day greasy cafe, suddenly it started being a turkish grill.absolutely the worst turkish food ever. they say Grill, yes an oil greasy grill on which they fry bacon on too. come on guys its shame to good turkish food. its terrible .even the donor is frozen and bought in .you dont even have a doner machine, absolute waste of money , stick to your all day breakfast unless yopu invest in a machinery and good chef, its a greasy turkish grill, very bad, worst takeaway ever

A rare treat these days to have a good old fry up in a traditional cafe, such as this. Great mug of tea and a hearty breakfast.

Owners speak little English and don't know a thing about customer service... In fact they made me feel awkward!! Really not great food. Sausages taste like they've been pulled out the sewer. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. If i could give them any advice, it would be to shut it down (READ ABOUT THE HYGIENE RATING), go to catering school & learn some customer service skills whilst your at it.

Top quality value for money well worth a visit Boss man cooked today was always best when he cooks. Will be going back I had jumbo misses had early starter very nice and coffee was best in town

This is a really good cafe with a decent sized clean seating area which is simple but well decorated. The service was quick and efficient the food tasty, hot and good value for money.

My first time in Hinckley too me to the corner cafe for an early breakfast.The owner was warm and welcoming and the cafe was clean and fresh.I had the jumbo breakfast for £6 which came on a large oval plate. All the ingredients were fresh and cooked beautifully and I was full when I had finished.If I am ever in Hinckley again I will definitely be paying the corner cafe another visit

I go here very often , every time I get the chance to have a full English breakfast , this the place I go , an English , no hash browns ( extra toast instead ) beans not toms , a large mug of tea .This has to be the best start to the day , I have been for breakfast all over the world , you can’t beat this one , go for it.

Love this place. Its not fancy, it's not swanky, it's old fashioned, and it's perfect. I recommend "Today's Special" - you get a a mug of tea, beans, sausage, chips, egg and a slice of buttered bread and still get change from a fiver. In 2018!The food is good for what it is. But you had better like some combination of chips, sausage, eggs, bacon, beans or toast, or you may be disappointed. (If you want gluten free falafel burgers, go to Tarro Lounge instead.)Formica tables and ketchup in big red dispensers. Usually there is a copy of today's "Sun" available to read.Tea is served in a mug as it should be. No faffing with little teapots and jugs.Corner café, please never change!

Haven’t been in this cafe for a long time, I was well surprised it was a great breakfast, I had the English breakfast, one egg two fried bread one sausage two bacon beans two bread and butter and a tea all for a £5.00 and freshly cooked great cafe will be back for more

I use this place regularly .Friendly Staff ,cheap eats clean & tidy .A very good selection of Breakfasts etc .

Great prices, very clean, lovely friendly staff, and the most yummy 😋 full English breakfast, big portions, fast service, not posh but great nosh.

Nos alojamos en el hotel bien conocido fuera de la ciudad y comimos volverían puerta una mañana muy decepcionante, así que pensamos que le permite ver si el café es tan bueno como solía ser. No nos decepcionó lo disfrutamos realmente para 2 días antes de volver volverían a Cornwall. Comida caliente agradable, precio muy bueno y el personal amable. gracias.

Simple English breakfast....did not have to wait long. Fairly friendly reception and service. All items present,especiaaly the mushrooms!...cooked nicely.Perfect toast and coffee.Hit the spot perfectly.

No thrills little cafe that has been in hinckley for years. Great breakfast never had a bad experience there current owners are very nice

I went here with my mum for lunch we had cheese and mushroom omelette one with salad and one with chips very good portions, friendly staff and very clean tables were cleared straight away.

This is the best breakfast you can get for under a fiver without a doubt, I eat here at least once a month and usually more, the owner is so friendly and the young lady who is usually serving is very kind, also remembers exactly how I have my breakfast xD

this is a friendly cafe,that does a great full english breakfast,with lovely sausages and tasty crispy bacon,lovely cooked mushrooms and washed down with a great cuppa

I always try to go here if shopping in Hinckley .not too far to go whilst the misses is shopping . They do a great bacon and mushroom batch (cob) . Nice tasting bacon with several rashers and nice big mushrooms.

Los desayunos son siempre caliente, se obtiene lo que se pide y es cocinado. El mejor desayuno en Hinckley. sólo asegúrate de pedir un té fuerte,un poco débil de lo contrario

I had the unfortunate task of joining my mum and sister in this cafe and have to say that I am shocked they are allowed to stay open. The place is filthy and I always like to judge a place by its toilets, if the toilets are bad the kitchen is probably the same. Well the toilets are disgusting and hazardous with broken tiles sticking up on the floor and doors that you would not like to touch to open. Will not be visiting again!

Good for hungover!Bit tacky, but food is good and generous. Price is good, staff is friendly. You got what you see! :)

Visited may times for a Bacon cob or Cooked english. It is what you would expect a typical english cafe. Good food at reasonable price. However the decor is old and it desperately needs decorating and bringing up to date. The staff are friendly and the place is kept fairly clean in old building.Worth a visit, I would say if you want a bacon batch or cooked breakfast.
