We are Sunday lunch here family of 4 the food was lovely the service was excellent the staff were so friendly. The decor is very nice and an open fire makes it cosy when it’s cold outside. We will definitely visit again soon.

Staff really friendly and accommodating, food was excellent. We were celebrating a birthday and were a party of 10 and a baby .

This place is perfect for an evening meal with the family, portion sizes are very generous and it's a really nice place to be plus the atmosphere is just right. Service is also 10/10

We have been going to the Coach and Horses at Markfield Thursday early evening for the last 3 weeks. The foods been great all 3 times, but last nights ribeye steak was superb one of the best ive ever had. The service is friendly and very professional with a great sense of welcoming. We rang on the off chance Thursday evening for a table due to running late and was able to reserve a table. Great range of beers, wines and other assorted drinks. we will be back, Thank you for the great food and service.

This place has really gone downhill fast since Covid. Very average quality food, poorly trained staff, and a ridiculously overpriced wine list for bargain basement supermarket wines.

Basic pub food at restaurant prices. If you want to call yourself a restaurant then you should at least have a wine list. I like to know how much i am paying for a bottle of wine before I order. Also if you are going to have special deals on certain nights then perhaps you should make sure that your system deals with this. I was charged full price for something that was on offer. Very disappointing night out and I won't be back.

Well well well… it’s clear the Highwayman lay rest to this coach a long time ago! Firstly the seats are so uncomfortable to sit on May as well have been riding the bloomin thing! I’ve not had a worse thing to sit on since Michael when I was 17 The food well! Cold, hardly any of it and I’d have rather had the grass from outside on a plate! Neigh the place just lacks quality and needs a serious whipping Anyway away I fly on my noble stead! Huzzzahhh

Hugely disappointing night at the Coach and Horses. 3 meals were sent back and a side of onion rings. The customer service wasn't great either. Won't be returning.

We visited The Coach today for my mother in law’s birthday treat. What a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. My father in law has considerable mobility issues . We were able to park close to the entrance in the disabled area, access was easy and the waitress came out to assist us. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and has a lovely ambient atmosphere. Staff were polite, professional and very friendly. Service was superb, timely and competent. Our waitress was amazing as were bar staff and the chef. Food was brilliant, fresh , well cooked, beautifully presented and hot. Portions are very generous. Lots of variety on offer and special requests were no problem at all. We were checked on by staff and drinks ,when ordered were served promptly at the table. My mother in law was treated to a rendition of happy birthday by staff and even presented with a candle in her desert. A wonderful afternoon out. We will definitely be visiting again.

Booked for romantic occasion, couples night, as parents - not that often! Sat in the large room with kitchen, with two other couples in total. No atmosphere, as no music was playing, we were all whispering as we could hear each other’s words. Planned on having the special 3 courses for £30. Very small prawns looked like they had been through a mincer, had lost original shape, no sauce, except water in prawns. Unable to eat due to rough texture and chewy, fed back to waitress who apologised. Mixed grill, was just that - fried meat. No flavour. Dry. Lamb shank had a gravy, but small meat portion. Ditched pudding idea as food disappointment, no atmosphere and all couples had left! So two drinks, two starters, two mains -£70 spent in 80 mins; they charged for the prawns despite feeding back. Should have stayed at home. Not enjoyable. It was like, the place wasn’t supposed to be open, but the lights were on, if you know what I mean. Won’t be returning again!

We went for a Sunday dinner Absolutely dreadful my chicken was dry the roast potatoes looked liked they had been cooked two days before and just warmed up and overall barely warm. Will not be going ever again. On the plus side the waiting staff where very polite .

We stopped at this pub coming back to Nottingham from Leicester on the off chance we could have something to eat but bring in a little dog. It was no problem. So glad we did the Sunday Lunch was 1st class, I cant stop going on about it. Everything was cooke to perfection. Staff were amazing. We are hopefully making the journey again and will head straight here on the way home. My only gripe was Children kept leaving the door to outside open. Wish you were in Ravenshead would eat there all the time.

Booked a table here last week,was met at the door by a young man who took our details and showed us to are table. He then took our drinks order which we received very quickly. After sitting at the table for awhile my wife had to ask one of the waitress who was just standing around polishing the cuttery if she would take our order which she did.we then sat & waited & waited until my wife noticed people who came in after us were getting their meals. So she asked the waitress how much longer our food would be,she went to the kitchen & then back to the till & when my wife asked what was happening she said I am sorry but your order has not gone through to the kitchen. So we just said we cannot wait around any longer has my daughter had to get back to pick the kids up. Then a guy appeared and gave us a half heartily appoligy, don't know if he was the manager or not,did not offer us anything for our inconvenience .only went to the till & printed out our bar bill which was for a couple of pints & three soft drinks. Think he thought better in the end has we got up and walked out. Left hungry & disgusted with the service.

Booked a table and when we arrive the table was sticky it hadnt been cleaned, we ordered when the meal came the guy just plonked knives and forks on our table..no napkins or condiments we had to ask....my husbands meal was cold we sent it back they just put in microwave and brought it back, my meal was cold and watery like it had been defrosted and not cooked through.....wont be returning!

This was our first meal out post lockdown. On arrival there was hand sanitizer but we were left waiting to be seated. We had reserved a table which was waiting along with menus. The menus were in wooden holders and did not look like they had been cleaned between customers.The wait to place the order was around 45mins due the a back log in the kitchen then we were told we had been given the wrong menus. The new menu no longer had the dishes we wanted and was very limited.We asked to move tables as we had been seated in a draft which also had a very strong smell of damp. Upon moving we could see that there was less than 50% capacity so not sure why there had been such a wait to order.The food was awful. I had ham egg and chips and the chips were cheap frozen chips, my husband had a chicken burger and chips, we have had better in city chicken shops.My daughter had lasagne which she enjoyed and her side salad looked nice and fresh. She then had cheesecake, again a frozen pre packed dessert. Soggy biscuit base, flavourless cheesecake.It cost around £55 including drinks but I wish we had stayed at home and saved the money.Very little fresh food options available which is disappointing.Waitresses were very helpful and friendly but I'm afraid the poor food means we shall not return.

We went out for a family meal. We eventually ordered our food but then had to wait over an hour for a starter to come out. The table next to us had come in after us, had their order taken and there starter had arrived before ours! Apparently the ticket had got lost in the kitchen! It wasn't that busy so no excuse. We then had to ask for condiments. We had to fetch our own sauces as staff just left us to it. Once they finally took our plates away, we weren't asked if we wanted any desserts and again were left waiting for some time. We had to find someone to ask for the dessert menu and then Had to search for someone to take our order. When we got the bill ( which again we had to ask for and waited ages for) i asked to speak to the manager. I got taken to several people and ended up speaking to the Chef in charge of the kitchen despite the fact the owner/manager was sat in the bar area enjoying a glass of wine! Complete joke from start to finish. I will certainly not be returning.

Food was excellent when it arrived. Went for a family lunch with a few kids and food unfortunately took about 50 mins from ordering to arrive. Kids were climbing up the walls with hunger. Must say though that when food arrived it was very good.

Beautiful large garden, and expansive kids area, although far enough away from the outside patio area for it to be great for both families and couples or groups of friends.Staff very helpful and friendly, food was typical pub food, but priced accordingly so felt value for money. Would have given a 5 star but they forgot the peppercorn sauce we ordered , although quick to replace :-)Cosy bar area too.

Me and my friends came for a meal and a few drinks and it was absolutely amazing, it was quite busy and every meal came out piping hot and very well presented and tasted very nice, would 100% reccomend a visit to the coach and horses.

It was our first trip out after lock dow and really enjoyed our experience.All safety measures in place and staff tried to keep o top of service issues at all times.Enough choices of varies dishes on the menu at average prices.Good service and enjoyed it.

Was in the pub all day during tbe first day open, must say that all possible steps were followed to make this as safe as possible and felt at ease all day. Excellent service 👍🏻

Absolutely brilliant service today, took all social distancing measures. Felt very safe, was there from 1pm until close at around 10:30pm, they ensured distancing between people ordering drinks and only allowed 1 person to go in the toilets at any time. 11/10 for me.

Really nice atmosphere but I asked about vegetables that came with the roast. I am intolerant to broccoli and was told broccoli was not on the roast. When the food arrived it was with broccoli so I explained I was intolerant and asked for some separate veg. The veg came out quickly but they had clearly just taken the broccoli off the veg pot as bits were still present. I didn't realise this until I went red and hot in the face which is the first sign for me that I've eaten something I shouldn't. At which point I had to stop eating my dinner. I explained to the waitress that the broccoli was still present. She apologised and was friendly but I couldn't eat the rest of my food, and had to pay full price. Should be taken more seriously really. My partner thoroughly enjoyed his food though. Just a shame as would make me nervous eating there again. Even the pate didn't come out with the bread it stated.

My first visit to this restaurant and it was a lovely experience. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The menu was varied with the added bonus of special deals on different days of the week. We visited on a Tuesday which was steak night. Prices were reasonable but as it was steak night it was even better value around £11 for steak and a glass of wine. We all had steak and each one was cooked perfectly. The restaurant was clean with modern decor. I would definitely recommend this place for a relaxed evening dinner.Thank you I will definitely be back.

We booked a table of 14 to celebrate both my husband and sister’s birthday. When ringing up to book I was met with a friendly and accommodating person on the phone. Because we were a big group we paid a £5 a head deposit and preordered our food. 4 of our party were children so we asked if we could be seated near the play room. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely staff who wanted to ensure we had a great experience, we were placed right next to the play room, we ordered drinks from our table, food arrived quickly and was lovely and hot and delicious. I had missed the ribs of one of the orders but they were more than happy to cook them. They were lovely and patient with the children and after we did the cakes they brought knives and plates and even cling film to wrap them up at the end. Absolutely fantastic experience. In addition to this the decor was lovely, lots of twinkly lights, a roaring fire and a quirky book spine staircase. The children loved play in the kids playroom.

We were here for a team lunch. Easy to access from the road, there is plenty of parking. The ambiance is good. Staff were friendly and service good. The menu had a decent spread and was reasonably priced. The food was good. Overall, it was a good dining experience.

Have passed this place many times and never dropped in until yesterday. Warmly welcomed, shown to a good table immediately, orders taken for drinks and food very quickly and our meals were on the table in just a few minutes, as ordered, together and piping hot. Extensive menu, all good, great wait staff (thanks Emma) and inexpensive. Only one thing lacking, not being able to add the tip to the card payment, who carries loose change today? Still they deserved the generous tip I left. Will definitely be back.

Felt I needed to leave a review as the previous reviews to this aren’t very good. I was a little nervous at first reading those so felt I should put a review to let diners know it’s quite nice. My husband had the Brie starter which was lovely then The Hunters chicken which was nice. I had the large fish n chips which was huge and lovely and crispy. My kids wolfed both their meals up and my son even finished off my chips. Obviously it’s not fine dining but then again the prices aren’t fine dining either. And the service was excellent Would definitely return and recommend

Food was tasteless, mash was powder from a packet, beef looked and tasted like it was from frozen packaging, (I have worked in kitchens so I know what is what) lukewarm when served. Crumble was doughy and with little custard, service slow, all waiting and bar staff did not seem overly enthusiastic and the landlord did not seem to impressed to see customers coming through the door. I get that we all have some stress and pressures from work or life, but not a good impression for customers and may I add, unprofessional. Will not be going back again.

Went here on the way back from a day out for some dinner with my husband and daughter. After looking at the menu and ordering drinks and food , the drinks came out wrong and then the food took a hour to come out, we had to ask the waitress in the end . My husband was very disappointed with his mixed grill which was more a deep fry, his chips he had to ask for , my chicken kebab couldn’t have had more than 1/2 a chicken breast on it , all the chips served tasted like old oil . My husband and I had finished our dinner but my daughter hadn’t when the waitress whipped the plate away from her , she didn’t ask if she had finished and my husband had to say excuse me she hasn’t finished before she put the plate back down .

21 of us today, for a family Christmas get together, made very welcome, the girls who served us, always had a smile, nothing was to much to ask for, even the barman said he would go to the shop for me, never have I heard that before.

For our second visit we called one Thursday evening without a reservation. As we seated we ordered a large glass of wine and gin and tonic. We ordered mains of the gourmet burger and scampi and chips. Both tasted great. We didn't have room for one of the attractive looking desserts.

Thought we would go here as last time went the food was on point lots of and very tasty.This time was really disappointing tasteless not alot there and waited a while even though was not busy

Awful produce makes awful food.

We were a little worried about coming here given some recent reviews and local press but we were pleasantly surprised. Seems like they’re working really hard to fix things. Service was excellent, food was lovely, great GF options. Will definitely return.

Booked specifically for a themed food night to get there and be told that it was an out of date menu advertised on the web (still is). Landlord wouldn’t shift and as a token of good gesture, especially with the restaurant barely taken, you would have thought being new customers and them being new landlords they’d have wanted to keep a positive service. Wrong!!!! Never checked to see if we were happy with our meal either. Left that to their bar staff I suppose to take the brunt.

Well this was the first time we had used this place for a meal & I must say as you walk in to the bar area it was clean & tidy with lots of space we were made welcome by the bar staff & after serving us some drinks we were shown to the table were the staff were excellent with there service. The sunday dinner was very good with a lovely tender lamb & some lovely veg I must say my only disappointment was being served my mint sauce in a chipped pot I find this a bit of putting.

The roast chicken is grilled that had burnt bit on it not roasted the roast potatoes really well done hard and tasted not good and very dry,, dinner was late, the only good thing about this dinner was the lesson never to go there again, spoiled a Sunday dinner

Great!! Just great.. New staff! Paddy from the bull is now a chef there and it’s quite clear that it has had a positive effect in the kitchen. New menu also! Would recommend it! People saying the food is slow, well, I don’t mind as it shows me that they cook from scratch.

Food is nice, but very slow in service and certain parts of the food was luke warm. Friendly staff. Prefer hand cut chips than fries, portions are very good. I would come again if they could pick up the pace in serving the food otherwise I would not recommend.

We are not local and were just passing through while driving south, we fancied lunch and stopped at the coach and horses, we were greeted with a smile and shown to a table, I ordered a soft drink as I was driving although my wife had a glass of wine, we both had the fish and chips and I must say was excellent cooked to perfection. It’s sad we live so far away as we won’t be able to return on a regular basis but if in the area again would certainly return. Very well done to the management and staff for doing a first class job..

Had a meal here last night & couldn’t fault the food. Kitchen staff were great (especially Meg) & bar service was quick & friendly. Would recommend, especially burger night as it’s great value (huge burger + drink for a tenner). Will definitely be back soon
