Just wanted to say thankyou to our host and landlord and to all the staff behind the bar and kitchen a huge thankyou from the Armed forces veterans breakfast club that meet up twice monthly at the hansom cab in Hinckley, just over 6 years the afvbc has been uniting veterans from across all the services that we can share breakfast and banter with each other and exchange help and advice, along with inter service banter, you cannot imagine what this means to the veterans community of Hinckley. Myself and my family went for breakfast, Sarah our waitress was very helpful, nothing too much trouble. Food ordered through the app and arrived very quickly. As always food arrived hot and was very tasty.

We're regulars, playing on the pool table and having food and drinks. It's a lovely environment with very friendly service from Sarah, Dean and the rest of the staff.

Just brought the family in for Sunday lunch and we were pleasantly surprised by how much we got . Ample amounts of beef and vegetables all lovely. I here the chef was jack. Well done 👏 brilliant value and beaut food again

We had 2 small dogs, so had to sit in the bar . This was fine, but we had to sit on high chairs, as the only 'normal' tables were immediately under the TV which was turned on and quite loud. We ordered 5 breakfasts. 2 came out. Then 1 more. Then remaining 2, minus bacon. Waited and waited, then reminded the staff. Eventually the forgotten bacon was brought out. This isn't local to us but wouldn't visit again, even if it was!

First impressions beautiful and inviting and we were more than impressed by the service we required from a very polite and well managed hostess Laura she did her up most to make us comfy and she went above and beyond for us , well it was super , the food came out hot and set out on the plate loverly , we didn’t rush our food and chatted and didn’t get bothered by any staff at this time it was absolutely brilliant , really want to say a massive thank you to Laura for the service she provided she is very professional and I asked if she was the manager she was so good I said was she short of staff so was shocked when she said she was a server , hope she goes far and will definitely be coming again thank you so much especially Laura.

Attended the Hanson Cab with friends, pre booked on the app for early afternoon. Staff were friendly on arrival and the table waiting. Food was lovely and delivered quickly. Big shout out to Wendy who was friendly and helpful

Left waiting at the bar for a while 3 members of staff completely ignored me and no one else was waiting so I could've been served, took 5 mins later for one to come over and ask me if I was waiting

Good food ,good price ,nice big pub plenty of room

Been here a fair few times for breakfast recently with my partner and toddler. Every time we have been in, the manager is amazing... He stops to talk to us and makes us feel super welcome. The food has always been great. No complaints at all. Warm, well presented and cooked great. We've never visited during the evening but have been for lunch and that was just as lovely. I know at times it can get very busy so you need to book.

We went when place wasn't that busy but the staff were more interested in talking to each other as opposed to serving customers. Food was OK but took a long time to arrive. Probably won't return

While queuing at the bar for food a very rude man was complaining about food that wasn't even on the menu but not available and that he didn't like anything else, in my opinion if you can't find something you like on a menu with the variety of the Hansom Cab then you have issues. Anna serving was professional and polite going above and beyond to please this arrogant individual. Well done Anna for your service today it was top draw..

Omg what can I say!!! Ordered 2 adult meals and a kids meal. 1 adult meal and child’s meal came at the same time. I had to wait 20 minutes for other adult meal. My daughter had to ask for her pudding after 30 minutes. Now we going to have to ask for her drink that should of come with her meal 30 minutes ago

We have used this pub on a couple of occasions as a meeting point for connections with friends and family and Tuesday we held our Dads Wake/Celebration here, they provided a fantastic Buffet of hot and cold food -unlimited tea and coffee the best sausage rolls! it was very good value indeed ! everyone commented on how lovey the food was- the bar area was kept for us and our 20 plus guests they were very accomodating for us to decorate with baloons and a banner ..we just want to say a massive shout to Charlotte & Dean for making it a great space and the perfect afternoon for our Day

On arrival, we were greeted by a beautiful smile that goes by the name Mandy… she took our booking details and then asked us if we came in a car to remind us to put our reg in. We have never been prompted before causing fines in the past and she was the first to inform us on arrival after many visits. Mandy continued to go above and beyond throughout our meal, offering us the best service she possibly could. She shines above all staff I’ve ever met in hospitality and deserves to be noticed for her fantastic customer service… Thank you again Mandy, keep up your wonderful work 💛 The food was also great as per usual!

Haven't been in this pub for donkeys years, called in tonight for a quick cheap bite to eat. What a mistake that was! Fancied fish and chips, none available at 7pm. Wife suggested not to bother and go home but as usual I ignored her suggestion, what a mistake that was! Curry night so one was ordered, it came out luke warm and was duly sent back. Very sloppy almost like water with no taste or flavour whatsoever. The other meal was supposed to be steak and ale pie, this was a decent size, the majority of which was pastry. There was literally almost no meat inside just gravy. It came with peas and gravy and a small portion of cold chips. Absolute disgrace to serve this to a customer. Both meals arrived without cutlery, it is not acceptable to be informed that you have to go and collect it yourself whilst your meal is going even colder than when first delivered!!!! At no point did anyone come and check if our meals were ok. We will never ever entertain visiting this venue for food again, once bitten forever shy.

As always, we were welcomed, the food was great, and the atmosphere was relaxed. I have never been in the Horseshoe Bar, so can't comment on that, but the main part of the place has always been a favourite of ours.

Visited for Breakfast & certainly not disappointed.Service from the Landlord & Charlotte was first class.For £6 I had a fried breakfast which was plentiful & good quality ingredients.My wife tried the scrambled eggs on toast.It is now dog friendly as long as you are in the bar area.They even offer doggy breakfast!.We will certainly be back while visiting my mother in law.Certainly recommended.

Hunters chicken was bland, and not appealing at all, fish and chips , was vile, chips burnt and and fish was not cod, I don't even know what it was, indescribable and disgusting! Service wasn't all that great either! Didn't hang around for extra drinks or pudding after that!!

I have been for 2 days on the trot with different groups from Care Homes. The pub has nice decor and both groups I took said the food was great and all plates both times were empty. I found the staff very polite and helpful. Overall I would definitely recommend this pub, sets a good standard for food etc

The pub is on my doorstep and I can't really fault it. As a regular visitor i have always had a nice meal and for the price you pay It's great value. (Even better with tesco clubcard boost) Some great offers running at the moment with the £5 meals, at Christmas they did buy one get one free breakfast (clubcard can be used also) The landlord is a lovely bloke and staff are very friendly. Happy to put the cricket on for us in the morning while eating breakfast.

Staff ok but people eating with hodds up. Food undercooked. Pie heated in microwave. Ugh

We go on Wednesday's to have dinner and take part in the weekly quiz, Dean ' The Ginger Viking' puts on a really good fun quiz for all ages and brains. Would give the quiz 5 ☆

It was great to see the Landlord and staff look after the local community these past few months, for instance during these precarious times the elderly and vulnerable have had somewhere warm to stay with hot drinks, and one heart warming moment was on Christmas day giving heart felt company, and a little fuss together with a Christmas meal to a 90 year old gentleman called Albert who would of been on his own..... This pub is a gem that has great staff that have had to deal with alot through these times, definitely give them a try! A big shout out to Dean, Sarah, Mimi, Louise, Dan Dan, Laura, Charlotte, Jake and the rest of the team ...well done and thank you for holding our Wayfair Party's....

This place has got progressively worse over the years, customers are made to get their own cutlery and sauces etc bar staff are unbelievably miserable during service and occasionally very rude, they do nothing about fair usage of the pool table, the heat lamps are...

Occasionally, you have to wait a while for your food, especially at weekends. Also, there have been a couple of times where we have had to wait for a member of staff to acknowledge that we were waiting for a table. But the staff are always very friendly. I just don't think there's enough. They could do with at least one more just to help speed things up. Other than the service being a little slow, I would recommend

Breakfast with Santa was amazing! He went above and beyond for the children to enjoy their experience. Nothing was rushed. It was so relaxed well worth the money. Definitely be going again next year.

Food is always great, we eat here often and have never had a bad meal. The service sometimes let's them down, but usually, when they are busy, they seem to slow down and are not as friendly. The atmosphere is OK, but it can be cold in there which can let it down a bit.

Glass was dirty.. table not wiped and cutlery needed a lot to be desired! Not impressed.. gone downhill!

I went to this pub for some lunch with a friend, the lad behind the bar- Jacob i think his name was- was very polite and welcoming. I usually struggle with eating out as i’m coeliac but Hansom cab were very accommodating and helpful when telling me my options and where to find them. All in all, great service, great food and very friendly staff.

It's not very often I come in but when I do, it seems it seems like you don't have enough staff at hand behind the bar and you end up waiting about 20mins to be served. Other than that it's a nice place, nice food and atmosphere.

Previously have rated this place highly, and was always the place to go when we went out on a date or with friends or family. However since the new menu... I've been disappointed over and over. First it started with the halloumi mix it up being a smaller portion, which was upsetting but not the end of the world, so I've tried a few other things on the menu. The wraps /baguettes are not worth even having on the menu, the chicken and bacon one had such a tiny amount of filling, and the "melted cheese" was a cold piece of American square cheese. (The Korean BBQ burger is great though) The most recent time I went back to the halloumi mix it up, not realising they've actually changed the deep fried halloumi to 5 halloumi fries which have come out of a freezer bag. Alongside some undercooked freezer bag onion rings, the only bit I enjoyed was the sweet potato fries. The previous experience with the wrap, and this experience with the halloumi, I did bring up my dissatisfaction with the meal when it was bought out, however I was told this time "they've changed it it used to be amazing now it's naff" but no actual offer of a fix which was upsetting. The app describes them as crispy halloumi sticks now, while I didn't notice the change of phrase to "sticks" which is my own fault I should have queried, but I can't remember what they labeled the halloumi as previously, these also weren't crispy. Soggy halloumi fries? It didn't make a meal, I was dissatisfied and there was a lack of customer service/care when we voiced that, which makes me assume they have got that feedback a lot and are bored of it or are not being listened to in the bigger scheme of things. Service is hit or miss, staff are always friendly and never rude, however as stated above, not always useful problem solvers, or as we've experienced in the past waiting 45 minutes for our plates to be cleared and pre ordered desert to come out (and only when we eventually got up and asked) Go back to the old menu, even if it means I lose my Korean BBQ 🤣

came in today with my 2 year old daughter and my boyfriend, used to love this place years ago however it won't be the first place of going too next time we think of going out. The food was lovely however as we both work for greeneking ourselves ( FOH and chef) we believe the FOH need more training as the woman that served us was rude to me as I was trying to use my discount code, she didn't believe we worked for them and asked for iD and we have never had to do that in our line of work.
