We had a family reunion of 10. The food was great, all came out together and really quickly. The desserts were epic too - candymania will satisfy any sweet tooth!

I recently had the misfortune of dealing with the landlord at Hansom Cab, and I can honestly say it was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The landlord’s attitude was nothing short of appalling. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that I was an inconvenience. Rather than offering a warm welcome or even basic politeness, he seemed irritated by my presence. When I asked a simple question, he responded with sarcasm and a dismissive tone, as if I was wasting his time. It’s not just the rudeness—it’s the total lack of respect for patrons or employees. It was uncomfortable to watch how he treated the staff, barking orders at them in front of customers, making everyone around him tense and uneasy. I understand that running a business can be stressful, but there’s absolutely no excuse for treating people this way. A bad attitude and poor customer service go a long way in driving people away, and I won’t be returning to Hanson Cab as long as this landlord is in charge. If you’re looking for a place with decent hospitality, I’d strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

Fantastic evening. We always go Christmas Eve, a big family of 14 for family festivities before the big day and this year Hinckley excelled themselves and everything was great! Super table decorations, food, service and environment, super. Keep up the good work.

Booked for Christmas Lunch & they did not disappoint. Very attentive from walking in the door. We were offered Prosecco on arrival and shown to our table. There were place cards with our names and confirmation of our pre-booked order. Our Starters came out quickly and was to die for, wonderful and very tasty. We were asked once finished if we wanted our Mains straight away or wished to leave it 10 minutes. A good question as not everyone eats at the same pace. Wow…. The Christmas Dinner was amazing and huge. No scrimping on portions here, in fact two people could have ate one dinner as they were enormous, not many cleared their plates purely due to the generous portions. Again we were asked if we wanted to wait or have our Pudding straight away. We waited and had a drink to make room for the delicious Christmas pudding and Brandy custard, in fact I had my pudding packed up to take home as I was fit to burst. An exceptional Christmas dinner with a wonderful atmosphere at a reasonable price. Most certainly will be booking for next year, just need to remember not to eat breakfast on the day! Well done to everyone who worked so hard to give us a Christmas to cherish.

I am absolutely disappointed with the "Dinner with Santa" experience. My two girls, aged 1 and 3, had been eagerly looking forward to this event since we booked it weeks ago. There weren't many other bookings, possibly due to previous negative experiences, with only three tables present. When Santa first arrived, he introduced himself to the girls but seemed annoyed when the waitress brought the food to our table. He huffed and puffed, then informed us that once we finished eating, the girls could sit on his sleigh to receive their presents. After waiting quite a while for our meal, we finally went to see Santa. To our shock, he was no longer in costume. The "Santa" we encountered was actually the landlord, now dressed in normal clothes and drinking at the bar. It was still within the event's time frame—16:30, and the event ran from 15:00 to 17:00, so there should have been plenty of time left. I spoke with one of the bar staff, and while she didn’t seem too surprised, she assured me she would sort it out. Thirty minutes later, a replacement Santa appeared—this time a lady, not the landlord. The stand-in appeared disoriented and rushed through what was supposed to be a magical moment for the children. While my girls are too young to notice, the older kids at other tables did, and for all we know, this may have taken away some of the magic of Christmas for them. What truly matters is that the magic of Christmas is fleeting, and moments like these are precious. The landlord should be deeply ashamed of how this was handled.

Lovely place quick service great food.

We had our team Christmas meal here,the staff where friendly and accommodating, we had a few changes but they where handled very well. the food was good. maybe could be a little warmer, but we enjoyed thank you for the service.☺️

Excellent on all aspects. Price, atmosphere, service, menu choice, food and more. A group of four throughly enjoyed our festive lunch today and recommend the Hanson Cab to one and all.

The staff were very welcoming. I am pleased that they are able to make my adult autistic son feel at ease. They listen well give him time. We were given time and space to order drinks and settle into our seats. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Our meals were great and offered really good value for money. The portion size was large and we had to leave some main course to allow for pudding. All in all an enjoyable evening.

The amazing food we go regularly never had any issues with the service manager is lovely when i was taking photos he came over and said sit in the sleigh and he took an amazing photo . t;hey get a lot of bad reviews but i cannot see why all our meals have been served well presented and hot. except the ice cream lol well done hansom cab rugby road (Hungry horse )

Never again. Full of drunken idiots watching football getting excited over nothing and some loud foul mouth pikeys. 1 pint with the misses and out the door quicker than a road runner.

Came in today and had a lovely freshly cooked meal, fish was gorgeous and crispy chips! A lovely lady called Nicola served us, she was friendly, polite and made us feel really welcome, she made sure we had everything we needed, service with a smile 🙂 we will definitely be back soon!

Relaxing great service very relaxing.

The Hansom cab is a hungry horse pub but when my dinner came with the garlic bread ordered as an extra 1/2 a slice cut in 1/2 again. When we complained we were told the portion sizes had been reduced. No mention of this on the menu and the cost was still the same. More like Hungry sparrow

Staff are always working hard and enjoy the atmosphere they bring to the pub, Sydney and mini worked so hard tonight and gave great customer service brilliant team!!

Lovely relaxed atmosphere with great food and service! Good place to go for children and families.

Food decent enough and nobody seemed to mind my noisy 3 year old so felt more relaxed. Little to no interaction from staff though and a little slow. Not the worse thing but just my opinion.

Staff didn't interact with customers, food just 'ok'. Small portion sizes for what we paid. Staff rude, cleared table when we were not finished.

Was served by the loverly mimi very pleasant and welcoming recommended food and drinks as was very unsure as first time in this pub. I will definitely be back as I am new to the area look forward to my next visit

I come here most evenings and find that staff are always in such good spirits. Always get served quickly and staff always willing to have a conversation and a laugh.

Disgusting rude barmaid Sydney was a massive disappointment to the rest of the friendly staff. Sydney the barmaid was extremely rude and told me that I was being rude. I ordered the children’s meal deal which included a desert. At the time of ordering I was not asked choice of desert. When I went back to order adult deserts and the child dessert I was told I had to pay again as I didn’t choose at the time of ordering. Which I was annoyed at and agreed to pay again but suggested with a low voice and no attitude that maybe at the point of ordering the staff should flag this and promt the dessert choice. She instantly told me I was being rude and refused to serve me. I have worked in hospitality and Retail for 25 years and I was in no way rude. She was clearly understaffed and looked very miserable in her work Me and my wider family visit regularly and after the indication with Sydney I will not return and will advise everyone I know not to which is a shame as all other staff were so pilote and helpful and she ruined our lunch and any future visits. She would not even listen to reason when I was trying to tell her I was not being rude just mentioning a customer point of review for future reference to make the situation clear and she kept rudely shutting me down and not letting me speak. I will take this further if she is not disciplined as I work very high in HR and now the process inside out.

Took an old friend for lunch and parked in the car park. Food was ok but today I received a parking fine for £100. Just what the hell is going on ?????

Tip… do not try the new Southern comfort Texas toast. The weirdest thing I ate, mac and Cheese and crispy chicken together in a sandwich. Dry, weird, not tasty.

We were let down by our usual pub for a meet we have every last Monday of the month so called the Hansom Cab who warmly welcomed us ,and it was a Bank Holiday , Great pub ,atmosphere,service and food ..highly recommend

Great service with polite staff, meal came out in good time and needless to say all four meals were delicious, great value for money.

We ordered shot sets and one of the glasses had a chip on it. We asked to replace a glass. Then we find out that another one has actual shard in it. All they proposed is to replace the drink. No apologies whatsoever Strictly not recommended.

Had a couple of Guinness zero's 2 for £5 and watched the first half of the football. Good atmospheric and good service 👍

Me and my husband went there this evening, we both had steak one was ordered a a medium the other well done. The well done was more like a medium with a smallish amount of blood, the medium was still mooing, as soon as the folk was put on the surface blood came oozing out. I could have made a decent pair of shoes out of it, both were that tough. Won’t be using again,

Good Pub, nice atmosphere, really good food prices Mon-Fri..we used the 2 for 1 menu, A real bargin.. Place would be 5 stars were it not let down by awful toilets. Both Ladies and Gents were filthy.. apparantly in the Ladies a flush didnt work properly and as such someones previous deposit remained. In the Gents the Urinals the smell was really bad, I dont understand why they cant be cleaned properly - A few mins with some bleach and they would smell great.. I suspect someone just splashes some cleaner into bowl and expects it to be fine... NO the walls, the whole of the urinal stall , walls and outside of bowl needs a proper clean then it would smell fresh - Its not rocket science! EDIT went back recently and the toilets were a big improvement, much more pleasant 😎

Perfect for a family meal out that won't break the bank yet offers good quality food and a wide variety of items on the menu. We went for some Tea after arriving at our lodge nearby. I have been to a few hungry horse pubs so knew they catered for even the pickiest eater in our family. The service from start to finish was great, with quick turnaround from ordering to digging into the meal. The small outside patio and park was a perfect way to entertain the little one.

Libby was great , and Sydney too , always go the extra mile for customer satisfaction, see you soon . Dog friendly and have water bowls and biscuits.

Pff... Hungry Horses are going down the hill;(( this place is not something which i would recommend;( if you must eat somewhere then okeish... You have to pick your own cutlery or ketchup mayo etc.. don't expect too much then fine.

For a group of 5 the food came relatively quickly, the plates were full and the food was tasty (all plates cleared except for the childs plate), there was a hair on one of the plates but once brought to the staffs attention the manager replaced the meal quite quickly. Overall would recommend.

Occasionally, you have to wait a while for your food, especially at weekends. Also, there have been a couple of times where we have had to wait for a member of staff to acknowledge that we were waiting for a table. But the staff are always very friendly. I just don't think there's enough. They could do with at least one more just to help speed things up. Other than the service being a little slow, I would recommend

Visited the Hansom Cab in Hinckley. Food & service were good, but not a fan of grabbing cutlery myself upon arrival. Minor detail, but would've preferred table service.

We've been coming here for years we used to spend a lot of time and money. Lately it's been very disappointing. The glasses are very dirty, the service poor. Don't even do gordon's pink gin anymore.

Good food.....need more bar staff in the week.......can take over 10 mins to get a pint

Visited for an evening meal with a friend and our two young children. Staff were friendly, Food was tasty & service was quick. Our children loved the park. We unfortunately missed the signs regarding registering our car reg and ended up with a parking ticket, thankfully Charlotte (the assistant manager) managed to swiftly have this cancelled for us.

We were in the area and came across this Hungry Horse and was so pleased we did. Lovely big restaurant that's nicely decorated and with plenty of parking available. Remember to put your cars registration number into the device for free parking. Would recommend booking a table here as only a few left when we arrived. Tasty food and friendly staff made it an enjoyable experience.

Party of 13 enjoyed a lovely evening good food, good atmosphere, very good service. We all chose different meals, including vegetarian, gluten free. The ones in cars had no problems parking but other members of the party had to tell them to register their cars otherwise get heavy fine. This could be addressed when customer first come to the bar.

Never been before , will def be back, food was amazing, staff were lovely and even put a candle in my sons pudding for his birthday!!!!!

A very pleasant place. I ate here when staying at the nearby Leonard o hotel for a conference. The food was well priced and great value. Well prepared fish and chips which arrived in good time. Emma gave friendly and helpful service. A slight glitch paying by phone at the bar but would come again.

Emma was exceptional food was very good however the building is looking very rundown.
