I have been going to the Stamford for the last 10 Sundays on the trot today service was appalling and will not be going there again in the foreseeable future

Had an amazing meal on Friday! Was served by Olivia and Millie. Some of the best service I’ve ever received in a pub. Will be coming back for more ❤️❤️❤️

I live locally and rarely come here. We aren't 'pub people'. Our son and young grandchildren came up and rather than cooking we went to the Stamford for Sunday lunch. The adults had beef /turkey and the kids ate off the kids menu (fish fingers/beef burger both with chips and beans) What a success. Service was very good and the food excellent. I was very agreeably surprised. We will come again. Recommended. 27/10/24 Had a long driving trip so we went to the pub again. We forgot they were doing a Halloween Disco! Still, the staff fitted us in towards the back of the restaurant. Whilst service was understandably a bit slow.. it was peak time and a busy one because of the disco...the food was piping hot on arrival, well cooked, tasty and the wine was nice too. Service by the staff was really good!

I had the Stamford burger whith chips was great, great flavor the chips were nice and crispy and you can tell they are homemade would definitely recommend our surver was Lisa she was great and friendly

We have just been for Sunday lunch and what can I say. The service and food were absolutely top class. Olivia our waitress was friendly and nothing was too much to ask. The food was delicious and plenty of it for the value. A massive well done to the chefs for the delicious food. Highly recommended.

There are so many good things about this pub,great choice of beer,lovely friendly staff and great food,tasty and well cooked.However when we visited yesterday i was a bit disapointed by the salmon dish i had chosen.My Nottingham friends who always like going to this pub were ,to be fair ,all happy with their food and with the 25%discount which is always welcome.and all thought their dishes were worth what they paid.However,the point i am making on my meal is that charging £20.00 for a bowel of noodles,2/3 long stem broccoli spears and quite a small amount of salmon chopped into miniscule pieces is not value for money and had i known what was in the dish i would have chosen something else Food prices have gone up but this was far to expensive for the end product even given the rise in costs to make it.Putting this issue aside the Stamford Arms is a fab local for Groby.

I have to say, the specials are the place to look on this menu. Absolutely incredible! From the waiting staff, to the kitchen, everything was perfect. Olivia our server was attentive as we needed and served with a smile and had knowledge of the dishes. Jacob the head chef out did him self with the specials, we tried both the sea food and the venison and we were blown away by both. Honestly, this pub is well worth checking out. Busy atmosphere, plenty of beers and some incredible specials to indulge in.

Had 2 of the specials, absolutely beautiful. Linguine cooked in a prawn bisque, with a crab Arancini. Highly recommended! If your going here, have a special, trust me.

We just wanted a little light lunch and were interested by this menu. We dont usually do reviews, but because our experience was so good, we felt we had to. Welcome was lovely, nice real ales, real fire, (cricket was a bonus), menu was refreshingly diffent and the food was great. Difficult to fault, difficult not not recommend. Seg and Peg x

Musical Bingo, 2nd. Thursday evening of the month. Also had a meal, Sunday, followed by live music in the pub yard. Justin & Wayne put onto a variety of events, including musical afternoons for the more mature. They engage with the whole alphabet (A-LGBT..., OAP-Z) of the community. Dog & Child friendly. Called in for a quiet drink with a friend, but the music was just too loud, both inside and outside the pub. Why do they have it so loud?

I’ve used the Stamford for many years with mostly good service and atmosphere. The food and beer are ok, with a good choice on the menu, but if you like to wash as I do after using the toilets, well the hand dryer is broken and I assume they must have a toilet attendant as someone was sat at the broken hand dryer blower on his phone, and a group of people using the toilet as a meeting place at the sinks. Not enough hygiene for me!!!

Terrible food and even worse service. Very rude unhelpful staff! Staff don't even know what's on their own menu! laughable! Awful place!

I had the most amazing meal at the Stamford Arms Groby on Friday 9th August. The steak was perfect , better than some steak houses . The Stilton sauce was delicious. Would highly recommend. This is a brilliant pub and the staff are lovely.

Awful!!! Would give 0 stars if there was an option to!! Can't get meals right. Things missing & wrong on our plates then having to wait for items while food is going cold! Rude elderly waitress who stood arguing with us over the absolute rubbish food and service and then wondered why we got annoyed at the fact that she just would just not go away and leave us! Then had the audacity to accuse us of purposely coming in to cause trouble! Yeah right!.....we always go out of our way to book a meal a week in advance with family to purposely complain!🤣🤦‍♀️ We wouldn't of needed to complain if things were right in the first place!! She didn't even know what was on the menu and argued that a garnish shouldn't be on mixed grill until she went and read the menu!! And it was on there! Chef should know exactly what's meant to be on the meals! Rude young waitresses pulling faces. People shouting,swearing and arguing in bar area right next to the restaurant while we were trying to have a family meal. When people work hard for their money and its not cheap at all here,you want your meals correct with at least a polite waitress! Didn't even eat our meals. We got up and walked out! Never again and certainly do not recommend this place! Totally awful!

Just had a meal and the service was very good we didn't have to wait long for our food although it was extremely busy . Very friendly staff. Very enjoyable evening.

Enjoyed the vegetarian Mezze Platter for 2 people tonight, which was special, this was extremely tasty and filling would definitely have this again. Asked that the chef was told how much we enjoyed this platter

Nachos are advertised as homemade £10 a dish.This dish is made up of thick triangles of " nachos" no resemblance to the homemade Mexican version . These that they serve are very oily with thick slices of cheese, a lethal dish to increase one's calorie count and all the way unhealthy to the core. It is filling for one who is hungry and not wanting the mains

First time there, unfortunately for a wake , however, the owners and the staff were amazing, really friendly,and accommodating, the place is lovely, it has a homely feel, without being twee, we will return under better circumstances and enjoy it properly, but until then thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Beautiful pub where you can relax while your little ones are playing. The beer is good ,however the food is rather really expensive and the quality is ish for the price. Got the fish and chips and not only the portion was really small but half of it was purely fried empty crispy batter... Not a good deal if you are hungry 🥴

Came here for lunch. Garden was really nice and dogs allowed, inside in the bar area too. Food was delicious and staff were really friendly

Went for Lunch.Ess on at 22 noon but 2st pont of Cask Ale was lovely Eat in Restaurant there was an excellent choice 25% od Pizza on Monday. My wife went for Stamford 🍔 a d I codn5 decide so went for a Slider which was 3 x different smaller burgers.Ended with Liquor coffee ☕️ with Kracken coffee Rum delicious 😋.

Lovely place, with a great atmosphere. A little more expensive than I am used to, but we'll worth it.

Very welcoming pub, the Food was delicious, I can highly recommend it. The whole experience was great but made all that more special being served by Lucy she was an absolute delight and nothing was to much trouble for her. We will definitely be back.

Horrible customer service attempted to kick us out of the pub because we had a redbull and from then on proceeded to be rude to us whilst providing a good attitude to other customers

Great night at the Stamford Arms. Superb atmosphere in a packed pub. Food and service excellent as always.

The staff are pleasant, food is a reasonable price on the Early Bird menu, we didn't have to wait too long for the food to be served, only downside went on Tuesday, after the Easter break, some of the items were not on the menu, but I have been several times before and never had this problem in the past.

Came here on Monday for a drink, the place was rammed! Every table outside and in were full, great atmosphere, felt bad for a staff though

Lunch get together to catch up with a couple of girlfriends I hadn't seen for a while. It was a very busy day but a great atmosphere and excellent service from the lovely staff. We all had meals from the lunchtime menu which is great value, my halloumi salad was delicious, and we are all fans of wine, so delighted to find that on Wednesdays there is 25% off a bottle of wine; so we made the most of it! I think this may become a regular thing !

Lovely food. Really high class quality for a pub. Recommend the Stamford Burger in particular. Staff friendly, service quick, nice pub and a nice environment. Not a bad word to say. Get yourselves down.

Lovely Village Pub Friendly Staff who are always helpful Great Atmosphere & Loved the food would highly recommend this Pub for family's during the day & early Evening & late in to the night for Adults see there web site for entertainment nights as well always have a great night when we go.

We had a really nice roast here for Easter Sunday. The food was good and it was served quickly. The only downside was that we were a bit squished in at the table we were sat at. I also wouldn't recommend the red cabbage, it was too vinegary.

We booked are meal 4 weeks ago a party of 25 so we would of thought it would be under control but are meals came out very slowly and by the time veg came out dinners were cold Yorke were still frozen some veg still frozen we had good reviews but not good for us plenty of staff but just couldn't cope the meal was for us to remember are brother who passed away so put a damper on are memories

My meal today was not good veg came out ten minutes after my meat arrived veg still frozen Yorkshire frozen we were a party of 25 which we booked over 3 weeks ago so I would have thought they would have had enough staff to accommodate us very disappointing

We celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary on Sunday afternoon with 37 guests attending. The food & service was excellent and we cannot thank Lisa, George & the staff for organising and providing us with the perfect afternoon. Nice village pub with plenty of things going on. Disappointing real ale quality though. This close to Everards Brewery I would expect better. The Original was ok so I imagine they get through more of that. Maybe fewer pumps so that they can move the beer through more quickly so that it is less tired would help

This was such a pleasant surprise. The place was hopping but we had great service and the vegetarian option, root vegetables roast, was quite outstanding.

Great place,friendly staff and amazing service. Enjoyed dinner with my friends there. Delicious food,all fresh and tasty looking. Would highly recommend to visit this place,very cosy atmosphere. Also dinning room is separated from main pub space,so its more quiet to enjoy meal. Tried out a seafood pie,it was gorgeous. Also large choice of desserts.

Had dinner here ordered the steak faijtas... i thought youd get chips or a side with it literally got two wraps bit of cheese and about 4/5 thin slices of steak. wasnt much at all really could do with a side of chips or something. Staff were ok and friendly.

Fantastic menu and service great for a date or Family night

Great visit. We were staying locally and needed somewhere for an evening meal. The Stamford Arms was excellent. The staff were great with our two young children and the food was spot on. If we're back in the area, we will be back for food here!

All OK except initially the Halloween party entertainment was very loud.

Had a family wake at the Stamford Arms. We were very well looked after and the food was great.

We wanted a bite to eat and then straight back to the road to our journey home . We visited on a Monday , eating from lunchtime menu . The bar staff weren't the most welcoming of people , but food was quick and freshly cooked .

We like the pub the portion control on the Sunday roast not great loads of veg, giant Yorkshire pudding 2 small slices of meat hidden underneath plus the deserts are a rip off tiny slice of banoffee pie no cream £6.

My son trains in groby for 90 mins so I sit I'm the Stamford and read my book, lovely pub with great service

Took my parents out for a meal here last night and had an amazing meal. Caribbean. Pizza and dirty fries were a particular highlight but the all the food was really good including the stambford burger and seafood linguine. Staff were really attentive despite how hot it was and made sure we had plenty of drinks. Highly recommend coming here for food and I will be back again soon.

Love this pub! The staff are polite and friendly and do a great job of the running of the pub. Good selection of drinks and local ales and the kitchen is quite nice, too. There is a kids play area and outside seating, the screen inside are just right (not too many and not too many of them). They can also do private events, too. Highly recommended!

We went to the Stamford tonight 6 of us,waited half hour for drink nearly an hour for food, the menus are basic food not any were near as good as it used to be will not be returning.the gammon was so salty couldn’t eat it ,the batter on the fish was soggy ,the burger was very dry,the tandoori chicken kebab was not nice either,probably get better at whetherspoons

Only had Diet Coke with a friend. Friendly staff, very clean and good atmosphere.
