The Local Hero Pub in Hinckley and Bosworth

I come here quite often. The staff are welcoming and food is great for the price. Match days are busy as to be expected being so close to both the leicester city football grounds and leicester tigers rugby grounds. I love coming in and seeing max, deanne, charley and britt all with smiley faces. They make me welcome every time.

It's always a pleasure to visit here when we are in Leicester. We visited on a Friday night match night 🌙 so we knew it was going to be busy and we got in there early got a table before they were all taken and enjoyed our food 😀 and 🍻 s before the game. Even enjoyed a friendly chat with a couple who shared our table as all the seats got taken up and they were tigers 🐅 supporters.

Good for LCFC games. Meet up with friends, free parking. Time for a meal after the game. Good selection, lots to eat served quickly. Donna looks after us and works her socks off with a smile, professional as well. Football always on the TV.

Brittany was a wonderful waitress who looked after us with a genuine sense of pride even with a gammy knee. The only thing that we could pick fault with was the fact that there was only Lettuce and Cucumber in the side salad!!

Tried to enter the pub today leicester vs Southampton football. Got refused entry by door staff because I didn't have a ticket. Never had this problem before, and when did the policy change.

Excellent visit, Customer service by deanne and all the team were fantastic. Amazing food at really good prices with a very comforting atmosphere. Pulled up to go to nandos originally but we're quite glad it was closed now, found a new place for date night. We will definitely be returning. Thank you!

The Local Hero is a great pub—friendly staff, great selection of beers, and solid pub grub. Whether we’re there for the match or a quiet pint, it hits the mark every time.

Ordered three steak skillets all medium they took 45 mins to arrive and when they did none of them were on skillets. All steaks were burnt and cooked very well done and the peppercorn sauces the we ordered extra tasted like they had an entire mill of pepper in them. All in all my partner couldn’t even eat hers so a waste of money we will Defoe not be returning there .

We attended before a local football match and were cheerfully met by Charlie. She was really helpful with placing our food and drinks order. The food was good and arrived quite quickly. All in all, good value for money and great service.

Food was exceptionally as always, staff friendly and helpful.

We came on Monday night for the Leicester vs Newcastle Match. The atmosphere was great, they even had a dj on. There was plenty of staff so didn’t really have to wait too long to be served. We ordered 2 Sirloin steaks and both came out within 15 minutes and were cooked to perfection. We also had the Chocolate Fudge cake for dessert. There was a good range of drinks to choose from. I had the Flirt on the Beach cocktail and my husband had a pint of Guinness. The staff were all very friendly. The location of the pub is spot on for getting to match and as a guest at the pub we got 4 hours free parking. We are relatively new to this side of Leicester but we will definitely be back.

We are regular customers who come to the pub before the Leicester games. Our waitress Donna is friendly, efficient & always goes above & beyond. Nothing is ever to much trouble.

Staff friendly and helpful. Much better than oadby owl, Staff don't want to be there, full of toxic controlling staff. So glad found a better green king pub who actually know how to run a pub. Well done local hero.

I paid a visit a few weeks ago with my friend I had xl mixed grill my friend had steak have to say was the best I had tasted staff where welcoming from start to finish can't wait for another steak

Came in on Sunday for food with friends, very disappointed to find a limited menu so i went on to the Facebook page to see if it was advertised and we had missed it and nothing on there was posted. Reluctantly we ordered food from the limited menu of burgers and chicken strips. We didn't have to wait long for food as it came quite quickly but as you can imagine we were quite surprised when it was served on a cardboard tray! If we wanted a burger on cardboard we'd have gone to McDonald's next door! Not at all what you'd expect from a pub/restaurant. Shockingly disappointed, which is a shame as the food that we ordered was very nice but I prefer to choose from a menu as advertised and eat it from a plate. This also wasn't ideal for a vegetarian who obviously doesn't eat beef burgers, chicken burgers or chicken strips so he ended up going elsewhere for food. We were regular customers when Joe was manager, we haven't managed to come in as much since he's left and definitely won't be returning if these are the changes the current manager is making. Although I'm sure we aren't the only ones leaving feeling like this yesterday. If the manager can't be bothered to let his customers know there's changes to menus with no advertising, no notice just a quick mention when you sit at the table, no vegetarian options and cardboard trays I'm sure he won't be there long. Seeing as my review keeps getting removed I thought I'd post again.

Kelvin was a very helpful gentleman and helped me when I was stuck in a rut, Consider this man with more value than you already would because he goes the extra mile. I was happy with my drinks and service all the way with no doubts. 😁

After going for a drink after bingo at 10.15 with my daughter we sat at table 1 and proceeded to order a round of drinks using the app. After confirmation on our phones and money leaving our accounts we sat for nearly 15 mins when we looked at the bar the two girls were talking and didn't appear to have our order. We went to the bar and politely asked about our orders. We were spoken to by a very rude young girl who said we haven't got any orders, we showed her our app confirmation and she looked and said we don't even sell that drink, after asking what we could order she came back to the bar with two screwed up receipts and said nobody uses the app at this time of night and they never came through to the bar, after changing our drinks to what they did sell my daughter's were slammed down on the table and I was told they had no vanilla vodka for the cocktail I had ordered, so I then asked what they could make and then 5 mins later my jug of cocktail was slammed on the table, after a death stare I politely asked would it be possible to get another glass to which she huffed and again returned banned it down on the table and stormed off Absolutely shocking rude service and will never come into this pub again !!

The food was delicious and plenty of it. I had the full rack of ribs and it was amazing. I will be eating there again soon.

I only go pre match. Busy but service fairly quick. There are cheaper pints on offer at other pubs close to King Power Stadium. A fairly generic experience.

Quiz night and football, brilliant night.

I came in here today for a couple of pints whilst watching the game. Almost £6.50 a pint is extortion. Is this just match day price? To add insult to injury first pint was very flat and tasted watered down. (Madri) Went for A San Miguel after that just to see if it was a bad barrel and same again. Pretty flat and again tasted watered down. Loved the pub and layout but won’t come again. If I am paying £6.50 for a pint I expect it to be nice.

Just got back from a great lunch at the Local Hero. We had BOGOF burgers. We sat at table 15. Ordered the burgers, which is not our usual food but we thought we would try. WOW!! what a great choice. The burgers were brilliant, nice and tasty. It came with chips and onion rings. I had a side of coleslaw that was great too. The service was great, attentive without being in your face. Thank you Local Hero. Brilliant. As a follow up to this review, my wife and I have been back to Local Hero a few times since this review and do you know what? Each time we go, the food is exactly the same.....perfect along with the service and welcome. Once again, thank you Local Hero.

Went today and had a mixed grill the chicken was small and dry a hanful of undercooked wet onions with a small stake burnt on the outside and raw on the inside and the peas were cold also the wait time was long considering it wasnt buisy normally the food is beautiful i got the feeling it might be a new chef the women staff seemed overworked and not like there usual selfs i hope there ok.

Everything is 1st class except the parking requires your car reg entered at the bar l was not informed of this and got a £100 fine which at the moment l have objected too ask me later of the outcome later on l rang the pub and asked to speak to the manager who was not available so the young lady l spoke to informed me when l gave her the reference no of the fine she would get it cancelled eventually l had a further notice of the fine and because 2 weeks had passed the reduced fine which would have been reduced to £60 had l paid it promptly had expired so l had to pay the £100 so to the lady who told me don't worry about it l say thanks and of course l won't be visiting ",the local hero " in future even though the food was excellent David C

We were a party of 15 who came into the pub for a few drinks. Ended up staying for food and more drinks. The bar staff were absolutely outstanding. They took multiple drinks orders all afternoon, 2 running bar tabs, and were faultless in their service. Cannot thank you enough for the way you looked after us

We stay in the area for LCFC football matches and are testing food options for our hotel (Takeaways, local restaurants) It was the turn of Local Hero and we were delighted with combination of good value and quality. For modern pub food, it was excellent. The friendly and helpful staff provided additional pleasure.

Breakfast with santa (best santa I've seen) is perfect for everyone. Even better gifts this year and the breakfasts were lovely and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend and also praise to all the staff and santa see you next year!

The local hero is a big local city pub with Television in great places to watch the big games. The time we were in I observed one or two families which was nice (5.00 pm). The food was okay, the staff were keeping on top of things it's a big place. I imagine when the city or Tigers are at home it's one busy place.

Charley was exceptional the meal was amazing and the speed of the meal coming out for there being 17 of us was amazing. The staff are incredibly friendly and always welcoming. We have been here many times and everytime it gets better and better. Absolutely recommend as a place for 2, 4, 6 or 20 people etc they can cater everyone and have a great selection.

I am disappointed with this place. We were there on Saturday after 7 p.m. for a beer and a drink and to eat something. Unfortunately, we received the beer in disposable cups even though we sat inside, opposite the bar. Beer prices vary at 7 p.m. (£4) and then after 8 p.m. (6.25 a.m.) they are much more expensive and are still served in disposable cups. We have already given up on one, although it could have been tasty. Regards

It's not going to be your go to local i get it for its location its great but how you can charge them prices for a pint in Leicester in a bang average pub at best is beyond me. the outside 'beer garden' is poor but understandable as they are using what space they have but the inside is really big

Given it was a Saturday evening we expected it would be busy but we waited an hour for food to be served. Overall food was good but the steak was way over done when we had asked for medium. staff were great though.

The fish and chip were fantastic by the chef. Staff were all friendly. Plus, I love the updated decor.

We stopped into the Local Hero for Sunday lunch. Our waiter, Donna, was friendly & attentive and greeted us with a smile. The Low & Slow beef was phenomenal and falling off the bone. Great value! Family of 4 spent £50 including drinks. I will be returning.

I've been a regular customer of Local Hero for a long time, visiting weekly for lunch., the food is delicious - especially the macaroni cheese which is perfection - always served hot and with only a minimal wait time. The staff are always friendly and (especially Maxine) remember us from week to week, making us welcome. Lovely atmosphere too.
