I used to be a regular here after coming in on a flying visit this bar and grill always impressed me absolutely superb. After coming back here with the family the food was brilliant, the choice of food was brilliant, the staff were brilliant the whole establishment were brilliant.

We ordered a 2 course meal, finished the first, and then waited so long, we had to walk out and never got our second course. Very poor service.

Used to be terrible service for a beer on match days but it’s good now. Foods alright too. Beers a bit pricey but no one forces me to buy it

You can't give a minus on this these people are the people getting rich of work like this it disgusts me I can't explain how much I hate platform I'm out of here don't deal with these people they don't listen to you I wish I could see them in person instead of over the phone thinking there above everybody else because there on a phone it woukd be different in person I'm telling you disgusting people

Good place to go before (or after) the football & rugby games. Plenty of tables & places to sit.

Where do I start. We have been visiting here for years and year, we used to split between the local hero and counting house which is up the road spent plenty of our hot days here and some rainy days. Food- hit and miss. Can vary. Steak on hot plates are good sometimes. Sometimes we’ll majority of the time it’s hit and miss. Friendly locals. Very friendly locals, friendships were built within the establishment and continue outside, my family and myself were very delighted at first back when BEN use to run the place. There is a new owner now and I’m sorry but you need to work on your public service skills and quite frankly my family and myself will not be visiting this poorly ran pub. Rude owner.

Popular meeting place for Leicester City home games, although at £6.50 a pint for their lagers people don't stay long...

Very good food. Looking forward to trying more of the menu. Great Sunday Roast the slow cooked beef rib was amazing.

BEWARE MATCH-DAY PRICES. £7.10 a pint. Which is at least £2 more expensive than drinking in the actual ground. Which feels like a con. It’s pretty bad when it’s cheaper to drink inside a sporting ground. Food is ok, but is often sold out, unless I’m just unlucky. Service has always been good, friendly with a positive attitude and chatty.

Visited for food during the day, before the evening football, so much quieter. Staff very friendly & helpful. Only criticism would be the onions were mushy & buried under the meats🤔

We had the low and slow beef rib for the Sunday dinner full of flavour. Amazing amount of food. I would definitely recommend it to anyone

Have been coming here for many years I have a blue light card and have never had an issue before however today they put the order through and took the bluelight off but didn’t mention that due to their ^special offer^ it actually cost me more than it would without the bluelight, I asked them about this and was met with a rude and confrontational attitude from the bar maid saying basically I should have read the terms and conditions( I have it doesn’t say anything about not being used with in-house discounts or special offers) I asked to speak with the manager who also gave me attitude and said take it up with bluelight I said surely you should have made me aware that the discount would be less than the special offer and you couldn’t use both? She said I can refund you and it will take 6-7 days to return to card but you will have to order and pay again without the discount o said just leave it she said next time read your terms and conditions I may be in the wrong I can’t see in t and c that what they say is true but really was their a need for the attitude? However on a lighter note when the food FINALLY arrived (it’s lunchtime) it was very nice

Alisha greated us with a welcoming smile. We decided we only wanted a snack. At the till she guided us to a meal deal which suited both of us. We ordered desserts and she went above and beyond having found out it was my birthday and kindly put some candles in my dessert. Very friendly and polite. A really enjoyable lunch. Thank you

Nothing wrong with this place, come here all the time. Food is awesome, great atmosphere and service is usually good except this time. We’re still waiting for our side plates! Wasn’t even busy, just pathetic!

XL MIX grills all 3, the steaks chewy best was the sausage as and gammon. Definitely be back but sorry not for the steaks.

Come the other day, met the new guy Arron big ginger guy, really nice guy, very welcoming and gave us a great meal.

Local hero is a lovely place for a family's meal or just going out as a couples ect The place is great if ur a sports fan they have enough tvs so no1 misses out and they have a outside area which is a nice The staff are lovely and are always willing to help if u ask and my nephew from Norwich when he is over to visit loves going there for food so over all a thumbs up..... 👍.......

The staff were brilliant and accommodated my needs without fuss they actually couldn't do enough for me! food was excellent and came out on time and cooked perfectly the atmosphere was very family friendly we had a lovely day and will be making a regular appearance here!

The food here especially combined with the football is a perfect combination, especially the Flamin’ BBQ meat sharer. My god it sounded big on the menu but the description doesn’t do it the justice it deserves. Amazing atmosphere for the match, will definitely be back for the next game.

Great place to watch the Euros outside in the sun, even though England are woeful. Staff were very accommodating and food was quick to come out during quite a busy period.

Go here on a regular with my family. Great prices and amazing food. Inclusive for all diatry needs too. The staff are amazingly friendly and will do anything to help and make sure ur meal is as great as can be. Recommend to many

Service was great, staff nice but tables and menus not clean. Tables hadn’t been wiped down, many had sticky marks on and we arrived 11.30 so can only assume from day before. The ones that were you could see dirty streak marks as if they were cleaned with dirty cloths. The menus were filthy. Had to try several tables before got half clean ones. They were covered in spilt drinks and food. Debated leaving but it was my sons birthday and we had got a taxi there and limited on time so just hoped the kitchen was clean. The food tasted very nice but by the time I got home it was exiting the building. Will not be going back again. The cost is reasonable but £55 for 4 meals, soft drinks can get so much better elsewhere and not end up on the loo 2 hours later

Nice pub but a bit expensive, £6.45 Madri, £3.55 for a coke, no change from a tenner. Polite staff though.

Chicken was grey and ribs zero taste. Will not be returning.

Food that I ordered was surplus to requirements, wouldn’t feed it the dog! The chicken bits one of my party had were cold. Everything was processed and couldn’t be more processed. Will not be returning!

This place is one of the best we have been to, the staff are so polite and always making sure we have everything we needed while dining in, will definitely come here again!

I visited Local Hero to try their Sunday roast, but to my disappointment, they were out of the low & slow beef rib. Instead, I opted for the traditional beef, which came with mash, peas, roast potatoes, mini Yorkshire puddings, broccoli, carrots, and a generous serving of gravy. I also added a serving of pigs in blankets. Overall, the meal was adequate, but as far as roasts go, it fell short of expectations. The vegetables offered paled in comparison to your usual seasonal veg, and the beef wasn't particularly flavourful. The standout element was the pigs in blankets, but aside from that, there wasn't much else noteworthy about the dish. It wasn't a bad meal per se, but it's not one I'd choose to have again. I remain curious about their beef rib, but without that option, I doubt I'll be trying another Sunday roast from here anytime soon.

Just got back from a great lunch at the Local Hero. We had BOGOF burgers. We sat at table 15. Ordered the burgers, which is not our usual food but we thought we would try. WOW!! what a great choice. The burgers were brilliant, nice and tasty. It came with chips and onion rings. I had a side of coleslaw that was great too. The service was great, attentive without being in your face. Thank you Local Hero. Brilliant.

Used to eat there all the time but this time I ordered me and myself said there was no eggs said we would get something extra when came out didn’t come on a skillet told there haven’t got any more there was no extra we said for are money back the Waiter had attitude with us went to the bar see said I am giving you cash I said I want it back on my card see then had more attitude with us after sorting that then the chef was swearing to himself say this is a nightmare today I will never go there again

We've eaten numerous times here now when coming to watch LCFC -it's always packed with fans when we visit and you'd think it'd be the last place to have a nice a meal considering but it's brilliant! Not had a bad meal yet 👍

Super place....spotlessly clean with a lo Ely atmosphere....huge thick chunk of gammon with egg AND pineapple, crunchy chips and lots of peas.....delish!! Another had a super mixed grill, and another chicken strips, all with same comments. Lovely not to ask for Condiments etc, and staff were great. With a large diet coke, a large white wine and pint of Stella, Bill was under £70....supern n we'll be back! We'll done

Most the items i wanted were unavailable at the time which was a shame, still enjoyed the atmosphere and the people.

Absolutely shocking went in on a Saturday night 8:00 pm for a drink , place 60% empty ordered 1 pint and bottle of Sol , price should have been £10.10, presented payment card and was charged £12.20 questioned the barman who explains event prices had been triggered I asked what the hell that was he told me Leicester Tigers had played at home so it was event pricing . That game finished at 4.45 and I had been nowhere near it how the hell that triggers event pricing over 3 hours later I do not know. Talked about being ripped off. Will avoid in future just in case there's been an event somewhere in the world the same day.

Well I like going here to watch sport and eat . But this time I was very disappointed. Ordered Sunday roast .when it came out the veg consisted of peas and nothing else.when I asked where the advertised seasonal veg was I was told there wasn't any .when i said i have paid for veg .i was rudely asked what do you want us to do about it we haven't got any .i certainly won't eat here again and if that's how they talk to customers I am surprised if anyone does. Think this member of staff needs some customer service training .

The food - a Sunday roast with beef rib and fish and chips - was great and the pub is very clean including toilets. Definitely would recommend and return for the quality and value.

Early breakfast, so not many people around. Lovely decor and history shown around. Nice garden outside area.

This pub is a must visit for any Leicester city football fan on the way to the match, have a meal, a drink or just want to join in with the pre match atmosphere. On non match days it's very close to the odeon cinema, so a good place to eat before ( or after ) you watch a film

Great pub right next to our cricket nets We will nip in most weeks now very big and comfortable suits us down to the ground and we will also eat there soon so watch this space

Went to watch the rugby which was great, until I asked to get a cocktail pitcher which they said they don’t serve during rugby which is fair. I then ordered a guiness which was terrible. And then they turned off the rugby for football so we couldn’t even watch the second half. I then was refused to order a cocktail pitcher aswell again.

Always go here before a match so it's always very busy but we manage to find a seat. Staff cope very well with the queue. Part of my match day routine!

A great pub to chill and have some food at a very good price. The pub is large and has a nice atmosphere and even has a pool table. I would recommend this pub to anyone looking for some cheap food and a pint.

Went with a friend and had a good time. Lots of seating. Menu seems to have a lot of options but three dishes were out of stock, and I'm vegan so it really left me with very little to choose from. Went with nachos in the end, not bad as we were also there mainly for drinks. Bit average but the portion was fairly decent, not huge though and I know the profit margin on it is huge haha. Staff were okay, not particularly welcoming but then again I've been bar staff before at various places, and between bad management and bad customers you can't expect them to be glittering and full of joy, nor should someone expect that. Outside seating area is very nice. Decent location to other places nearby. I'd probably eat there again but not likely as I didn't even get to try the dishes I was interested in. My friend and I just had to settle for our second and third choices. Drinks prices are very steep, considering how often they're very busy you'd think they could pass down the savings 🙄. All in all a pleasant time, not bad, not outstanding.

Always came here as my go to pub as it never let me down when it came to food and the staff. However after coming today Im not sure that is still the case. All the staff seemed to have changed in the space of 2 weeks, The food we had was really late arriving. Some of the meat was overcooked, peas were cold and one of the eggs even had the shell in it. Im not sure whats gone on but its not the Local hero it once was.

Had a meal here before the Tigers game. Prompt service and good food. Good for a standard pub menu. Atmosphere obv good. Large capacity to serve everyone. Will go again for sure.

Great pub unfortunately won't be able to go there again took my family to see what it was like on the 4/1/24 paid by credit card and it wasn't until the 8/1/24 they took money from my account this is how it goes according to the bank so that's not the problem we stayed for 30 minutes and never again As we have been nothing but harassed ever since by a company called parking eye they try to threaten you with a hundred pounds fine if you don't prove your innocence just for having one drink you get months of aggravation and threats from them so sorry to say won't be using the local hero again because of threats by parking eye

Great pub for match day although would say it's pointless reserving a table as they get cancelled last minute. Food is nice and great value for money. Most of the staff are very friendly but are overworked. Big queues at busy times.

Today me and 18 other family members attended for Christmas Day Dinner. We were greeted and shown to our table, which was laid beautifully. The service was quick, no orders were messed up. Nothing was to much trouble. The staff were bubbly and friendly, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. Thankyou so much we will be booking again, the food was lovely and the portions were massive. The kids could be kids too. The prices and menu was fab great selection. Merry Christmas.

Well no rib eye steak, so went for sirloin as should be a better cut than the rump. Can only say I’d hate to see the rump, left half the sirloin as just complete sinu and fat. Rest of meal ok but steak was terrible.

Dropped in after a tigers game. Beer good, atmosphere good also.
