Jack's Traditional Fish and Chips of Hinckley in Hinckley and Bosworth

Got 2 sausage and a kabab. Sausage honestly inedible, cooked in old oil. Even the dog didn’t eat it 😅 And the Kabab, as it was tasty.. the pitter was in pieces. Annoying.

Quality service and food chips were outstanding

Cheap yummy fish and chips, the fish is NEVER dry and they take you seriously when you say 'extra salt and vinegar'. Really affordable specials every day of the week. Big portions. Husband and I share a large fish and regular chips and there's still some leftover!

I often order home delivery from Jacks and service and food quality is superb so will still be using Jacks as my chippy of choice

Luke warm chips and soggy batter. Service always good, good size portions and prices seem reasonable but quality could be better.

Honestly the worst chicken kebab I have ever had in my life. No flavour the chicken was super dry. Best part about it was the salad. Tragic.

Asked for a mixed kebab with salad and chips... got it home.. it was just a donner kebab with no salad.. Portion size is small

Ordered 2 meals, on Uber Eats, that weren’t what I would call cheap. Only 1 arrived. When I called I was told I would need to collect the missing children’s meal . As someone who is disabled this wasn’t something I could do. Told I’d have to get a refund for the whole order - what was delivered was cold by now - through Uber eats. No apology. He was rude and shouted at me on the phone. I’m the end went through Uber eats and only got refunded for what I didn’t receive. So the guy on the phone lied or didn’t have a clue. Cold food, which was very bland, and hungry child. Never again.

Please don't change the process your fish and chips are excellent.

Great for a quick chips, but nuggets aren't the best. Everything else is great. Recommended to go here!

Good value for money nice fish even better kebabs

Sausage in batter a bit undercooked so soggy though it's a decent size. Would prefer more crispy but smaller. Chips soggy/fatty like they have been cooked on too low heat. Also portion size is tiny; we had a regular and I would call it a childs portion so heaven know what a small is like. Chicken kebab - lots of chicken but mainly inedible as skin, chewy sinu; not nice at all. Over all paid almost £13 for a regular chips with 2 sausage in batter and a chicken kebab; most of which went in the bin. Do not recommend. Tudor Road is better cooked and better value for money (they are not paying me to say this either!)

Bring back the old owners, the chips were very dry, tasteless and definitely not fresh.we though this might have been a one off so gave them another go , I wish we hadn't bothered, still the same. Definitely won't be going back.

Fish not bad ! Mushy peas very nice ! Chips awful pale & tasteless ! 1st and guaranteed last 🤢🤮

Very poor kebab and the salad was 4 pieces of lettuce and 1 slice of tomato and 2 slices of cucumber and the curry sauce was like water and the chips were full of oil and very soft as if they had been reheated more than once only thing was ok is the batted sausage will not be back waste of money

ordered from here a few times now, 1st was good but then my last orders have all been cancelled through ordering apps. like why have it open if you just gonna reject??? then the ones that have gone through always missing stuff. I ordered large cod meal. I really enjoyed my bag of fries and mushy peas but my cod well he went swimming off somewhere. just never ordering or eating from these guys again. usless

Wow - what an excellent Fish & Chips! Blown away with how good Jack's is... food is fresh, fast & well presented. Was going to say best in town - but actually best I've had in 40 years - well done Jack's!

Very lovely people, missing an item from a just eat order but they dealt with it well after a phone call and delivered it well (not just offering are refund) friendly staff arrived at door, and food that arrived was good with very good portions

The worst chips ever, over cooked dry tasteless , it was like chewing pieces of cardboard and definitely not worth what they are charging for the worst food ever and I use the word food very lightly, I definitely would not recommend wasting your money at this chippy......

Lovely food, freshly cooked. There is usually a bit of a wait and it is a little expensive, but is well worth it! I called in again the other night for some chicken pieces. They were cooked fresh, lovely and I must say, the shop still looks as fresh and clean as the day it opened.!!!

Don't order if you want delivery app states 30mins. 1hr 30 wait for delivery, to Stone cold soggy food. No answer on the phone trying to chase delivery.

Ordered via Uber eats, what arrived was shocking. Curry sauce was poorly packed and exploded over all the food wrapping. Chips were cold, kebab was tough and over cooked. And the pie was so hard it could be a hockey puc! We don’t even live far from the chippie! We did get a full refund from Uber eats.

Just had take away from Jack’s through Just Eat. Food arrived, several issues. Firstly we ordered 2 kebab meat meals and requested the sauce separately as didn’t want on the kebab meat. Food arrived and had sauce all over kebab and the chips, not separate. Called up to see what had gone wrong and was told they couldn’t see the request on Just Eat, I explained it was clearly on the order confirmation at our end. I asked for replacements to be sent out and was asked if I could come and fetch it, which I couldn’t. I was told that we can’t drop it off as we have no drivers????. I politely said that it was their issue to rectify. To their credit they did drop a replacement off within 40 mins, unfortunately when the food arrived the doner meat was literally stone cold. My wife’s chicken and mushroom pie was so hard you couldn’t even cut it with a knife. Not sure what’s happened to Jack’s, it was a decent chippy before but now it’s rank.

Great premises, lovely staff and great food and quick service but far too much packaging which initially might be recyclable but once greasy food has been put in it most cannot be recycled. A box for the chips, a box for the pie, a small bag for the curry sauce, a small bag for a saveloy and then a paper carrier bag to put it all in. Just not necessary as well as being an unnecessary cost to your business.

First time I felt like fish and chips and doner was soo bland and first time visited to this take away. Thought I'll have fish and chips and doner and chips after long time but was not happy at all.

My second review after being invited back by new management and safe to say more foot traffic worse foot... Chips good pie was older than my grandmother!

Brilliant food and great price and had it delivered from deliveroo to burbage and was on time definitely recommend first time customer

Sign on the door says 10pm every night, 9.15pm and both doors are locked, the two guys inside just wave at me to say it's closed because they can't be bothered to serve me. Won't be coming back if you can't even be bothered to open the door and speak to me.

Absolute lush fish and chips and deliciously made donner meat. Definitely a mouth watering experience and cannot get enough. Will definitely keep coming back for more indeed. A+++++++

So this was our second visit and We can't fault it. Burgers are amazing, battered sausages perfect and Fish and chips meals are served with a side along with a slice of lemon and pot of tartar sauce. Friendly staff and quick service

First time using this takes away/delivery service. Food was piping hot and absolutely delicious. Worth every penny 👍

2nd time since lockdown lifted, first was the new burger, extremely disappointed as the burger was so small you could hardly find it, then steak/kidney pie, cold, hard, eating it felt like it had been in the warmer for a week. Will be going elsewhere.

This is not the first time get home a couple of streets away and the chip's are barely warm I complained last year and it got better and last night my first time back after the lock down very disappointed I will now be going elsewhere

There’s not many places you can get good quality fish and chips anymore but this place is fantastic food is crisp and fresh not soggy and dripping with fat like other places I’ve visited , the food is well presented served in take away cardboard boxes with real wooden forks so saved on the washing up , the prices are extremely reasonable too will definitely return

Called in here for fish and chips Thursday 7pm July 19th. Staff very pleasant , place is very clean ( 5 star Hygiene Rating ) Ordered a meal deal large £6.70 Fish , chips , mushy peas ,lemon and Tartar sauce. Served in a box Very tasty large amount of chips and perfect flakey fish in light batter.

Was good seems to be going down hill kebab meat the seems more like lits been cooked a very long time comes out dry n rubbish then cant even get my order correct missing bits.... But once was good shame on you
