By far the best chip shop! The food is always fresh and nicely cooked and you couldn’t ask for friendlier staff. Couldn’t recommend more highly!

Fish and chips were good but they only did peas beans and curry sauce in little plastic pots that were way too small. Find pots the same as every other chippy and I'd go back

Hands down they are the best takeaway around hinckley immaculate food tasty clean and always a great service and reasonable prices trust me ..

Have been a regular customer for a while now. I haven’t anything bad to say about this place. Always good. Portion sizes are generous.

Went on a busy Thursday night at 7.30 pm. Had 2 items missing, a sausage and chips, so a full meal that i had paid for. The chips are big portions so we shared. Check your order before you leave. Not impressed and will not go back

For everyone out there I just want to say that some of the food in this chip shop can give you food poisoning. My partners mate and myself had chicken wrap & chips and doner cob & chips and for the past three days since having the meals we have both haven’t felt well and have food poisoning. Normally this chip shop is okay but I am not happy and don’t think I will going there again.

Worst chippy in Hinckley,take your money and tell you a few minutes for chips.they don't serve in the order they take your money,20 minutes later I got my food.they have more staff than people waiting,the truth is they prioritise online orders which gets the chips first everyone else has to wait.poor customer service.

We visited after searching for gluten free in the area (we're on holiday) Our daughter is coeliac and the GF fish and chips were such a treat. The owner explained a family member is coeliac which explains the absolutely amazing service and attention to detail when catering for GF. We ordered so much as its just so rare to get all the GF choices in a chipshop, it was delicious. The pineapple and potatoes fritters were delicious, nuggets, Battered sausage and Battered Cod, portion sizes were very generous too. Staff in the shop were a delight, lots of smiles and banter between them, lovely team. Thank you so much.

Was ok just annoys me when places cut the meat of the kebab and then dunk it in a greasy pot to take back out to put on the kebab, 3 staff 1 serving the others doing just eat or equivalent orders. Chips and non greasy parts of the kebab good though would go again.

From Canada and just arrived a day ago. The food is amazing and the staff are very friendly. Wow wow wow check this place out!! Making plans to eat there tomorrow...again!!

Ordered food, money taken , told 10 minutes wait. Waited 45 minutes at least. Staff disputed the order and finally when I complained I received a load of verbal and hand sign abuse from the staff and ex staff as it turns out on leaving. Unbelievable , what a shambles…. Never again ! Used to be run by a lovely family but not now. Appalled !

Very busy tonight as they had a lot of just eat orders for delivery so I had a long wait for my order but the wait was worth it. The best fish and chips in the area!

Order food drinks missing rang back told them they came out got mouthy with my daughter and there was a foreigner speaking in different language wasn't very pleasant and shouting upset my daughter so I rang company ask to speak to owner then he threatened me with social services cause I said I was going to leave a bad review then I hung up then he rang me back threatening me some more I reported to police awful staff that deliver food used just eat app

Delivered to me in my lorry, very fast service, but most importantly, the food was top notch and thoroughly deserved the 5🌟 review. Had to give the kebab fritters a try too, twas a taste sensation 👌 Good work. I will definitely order again next time I'm in the area

Had scampi and chips from here and the scampi just wasn’t that☹️ It was a fish nugget as you can see from pics. Very disappointed considering it was £4.20.

I’ve been a regular customer for the last 13/14 years and have always loved going. The staff are friendly, efficient and helpful, always making an effort to get to know customers. As for the food, the high quality has been consistent for as long as I can remember, with the fish and chips being a highlight on the menu. Overall, I would highly recommend Brookside Fish Bar to anyone around the Hinckley/Burbage area.

This is our first order from here after looking for a new place that does gluten free fish n chips, def not disappointed. Owner is Celiac which always helps. Decent portion sizes, batter on GF and normal fish was decent, chips weren’t soggy even after a 10 min drive home. Will definitely be going back.

Bit expensive, as with everything these days but for a 10er you can get a decent Fish n Chips for one.

Freshly cooked haddock and really good chips and mushy peas well worth the wait. lunchtime is OK but service very slow due to large amount of I presume phone orders being made up.

I was in the area and searched for the best chip shop in Hinckley it came up with this one as it had really good ratings Food wasn’t great at all chips didn’t taste fresh like they had been sat for a while some were hard Spent over £20 totally disappointed wouldn’t use again

Excellent customer service, we was looking for gluten free fish and chips but the gluten free frier had already been turned off when we phoned. Got a phone call back saying that they will turn it back on for us and this was 15 minutes before they closed. My wife and our youngest son could have the gluten free fish and chips that they was craving. Excellent food, excellent portion sizes and went the extra mile for my family. Keep up the good work.

Brookside fish Bar our local is great!!... when the owners are there. When they are not you can distinctly notice with the service. I've been waiting now for over an 1 hour for 2 packet of chips to be delivered. When I called to follow up ,I was told another 15 minutes...clearly they had not placed my order. I have 5 people sitting at the table waiting to eat whilst the rest of the food goes cold.

This was my first delivery order tonight. I was pleasantly surprised how hot my food was delivered. The quality of the food was amazing. I had the mini fish meal, which tasted superb, tastey and lovely and fresh. More than enough for one. I live in a village with no takeaways. So I know exactly where to go for my fish and chips in the future. Thank you to Brookside Fish bar and to Just eat for a quick speedy delivery.

Visited several times. Service good but had to wait for chips on last visit. Also last visit the chips weren't as good as previous times and the prices had increased a lot.

Complete shambles, missing items and items we didn't order. Chips were cold and wrapped so tightly they became a mush of potato. Do yourself a favour and go Chris's Chippy down the road

Awful food, and cocky reply from owner, clearly touched a nerve with us both knowing their food isn't good. Chips dry and seemed reheated. Fish batter mushy and fish bland mushy too. Hairs found in the burger dirty people.

We had mini cod, mushy peas & chips for the two of us & unfortunately the chips appeared to be reheated from lunchtime & so were hard & dry. To be fair the mini cod & mushy peas were good. Based of this experience we will not return.

Absolutely disgusting 🤢 dirty oil & chips were vile!!!

We don't normally have bought in fish and chips but have called in a few times when passing and treated ourselves and have come away with huge quantities of tasty food. Last Saturday, to celebrate being able to eat with friends, our neighbours ordered a meal for the four of us. It arrived in record time and was superb not having suffered in any way on the journey from shop to table. AND the speedy delivery was free.

Great quality food. The place is spotlessly clean also. Probably need to up their veggie range otherwise no complaints, tis my first option for a good takeout.

Really nice staff and food. Good portion sizes. Could put more salt and vinegar on the chips, however I'm sure you could just ask.

Gluten free fish and chips, with GF curry sauce for tea. Yes this chip shop do gluten free any day, just phone through to organise. Yet this is not on their menu on the website.

Best chip shop in Hinckley from food quality , overall portion to great customer service i would now not use another chippy in my area . Never used this place due to some negative reviews but decided to try it for myself had have now been here more than 10x with no issues , try for yourself

Normally good but waited 20 minutes for 2 large fish and a portion of chips to be cooked fresh. When I got home the batter was really hard and the fish inside dried up and horrid, that was not fresh cooked fish. Should have took it straight back but too tired after work. Will not be going back there again.

My wife and I have been using Brookside fish and chip shop fairly regularly during the current crisis. We have a delivery. The quality on each occasion has been excellent and the timing exactly as requested. I would definitely recommend you to try it too, either for delivery or collection, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Went at peak time so it was busy but service was still great. It is a typical chip shop with lots of choice and yummy food.

Huge chip portions! Easily enough for 2. Fish has little batter on it and not crunchy. There is no seating area if you have to wait. Lots of parking normally.

The food is very good, in the main the fish and chips seem to be cooked for order on arrival. Ample parking, but the place can be very busy, so expect to wait, but it is worth it.

Out of all the Fish and Chip shops within the area this has to be truly the best one we have ever been to. Service and the manner of the staff even taking the time to share pleasantries with the children. The quality of the food we had was excellent and we can't see the family going to any other. Even convinced the in laws and they have been using another place for 20+ years.
