Coffee Rio Hinckley in Hinckley and Bosworth

Its now called The Baron. Very rough pub with no food available and we were fooled thinking it was a Wetherspoons

It's was cold no heating was on. The beer is sometimes good, sometimes bad

Completely dead on a Sunday, doesn't serve food apparently, despite having menus on the table

Walked into this place randomly to an absolute madness!!! Manager and staff were laughing, singing and dancing so we joined in and had a great night!!! Awesome Staff, good drinks, good vibes, therefore we will be back. Thanks for the memories

Obviously not up to the efficient standards of the Wetherspoons pub it replaced, but they are trying to make a go of the place. Beer prices are reasonable and the menu is economically priced. Staff are friendly and helpful. Pub is popular with plenty of folk using it. Don't like the obtrusive blaring pop music and there are too many big screen TV's.

Beer 5. Staff 5. Atmosphere 0. Avoid

Been here a few times with an old friend & there's a good atmosphere here with reasonable beer prices. No food on offer any more.

We just had hot drinks as they don't do food here, my partner had the choice of lots of coffee..free refills of this drink, but because I drink tea..I didn't have the options of free refills...I was disappointed 😔 by this.. sorry crafty baron..

Absolute dive ... Was once a good wetherspoons pub. Thought I would try it out since it became independent was surprised to see a dog inside... Great idea the dog was clearly loving the experience until the bouncer kicked the owner and the dog out. The bouncer then decided to randomly fight another punter ... avoid this place unless you enjoy watching people fighting. Also the beer is awful. Many better venues in Hinckley to choose from.

Lovely place, we went quite early so it wasn't busy, but lad behind the bar was great lots of conversation and great service.

Haven't been in for years but thought I would try as I was in town. Wish I hadn't bothered! Looks like a meeting place for the unemployed and those on a very tight budget. Cheap it is but I would rather pay a few quid more with better clientele

Big open pub, designed for people who want to get drunk. Don't bother trying to have a conversation music is way too loud for that. shuts at 2am.

descent pub. Live TV but no sound. The bar top was interesting it had loads of coins glued to the surface of the bar. "look good". loads of seating. And served Birra moretti. I'd go again.

Fantastic Drag Bingo on Thursdays with Fanny Burns. Great selection of drinks that are nicely priced 👌🏻

We had to wait for a long time to get our food, which was mostly cold, the beer we had was a bit flat as it was obvious that the pipes had not been cleaned properly. When we complained and asked for a refund, we were offered a "free drink " not why we pointed out our dissatisfaction with quality of food and the service. Enclosed picture shows that if the food had been eatable there would be nothing left for a photo 📸

Terrible food. No fault of bar staff who handled the situation well, cold chicken, raw onion skin. I ordered a marinated chicken breast burger to receive a chicken breast rolled in some sort of seasoning and put into a bun. The seasoning was not cooked with the chicken and it was frankly disgusting. Will not be returning.

Found it clean and tidy. Staff were good and drinks ok. However if you plan to go for food be aware they stop serving food at 6 o'clock! Just when you're ready to dine out for the evening 🤔..... apart from that it was ok.

Drink was fine, bouncers seemed friendly but service was very slow because there was only 1 girl behind the bar on a Saturday evening. Lots of people high off drugs in there.

The Baron of hinckley has closed down

This has got to be the dirtiest shabby weatherspoons with staff that can only see through you stood there for ages trying to get served and there were only three at bar not impressed will walk by this one electric socket under hand dryer in mens toilet looked a health hazard. An update to this review last week 30/10/2021 we were visiting hinckley and popped our heads in to see if anything had changed and to our amazement it had been refurbished you could walk the floor area without your shoes sticking to it this followed throughout, toilets clean and safe was quite pleasant a complete opposite. One observation was the coffee had doubled in price to £2.49 dont know if this is the case in all weatherspoons.

Me and my friends came today to play pool and man was ok about it but the woman behind the counter yelled at us and said “if you wanna play pool you need to order a drink” so I ordered a drink and she said “that’s it? Just you? “ so she told us to leave I wasn’t happy as last week they let us play pool without buying a drink so yeah not going back there no matter what people say

Was very unclean upon arrival and it was still very early. There clearly a betec Wetherspoons,The food was alright and the staff were friendly enough. Wont be going out my way to return.

Overall a good experience, food was good,just a little confusion with staff meant we waited a bit long to be served as it's table service only.

A fine example of a former JD Wetherspoon being reimagined as an independent pub. Lovely staff! The barman, Owen, was very friendly. Very pleased with the prices of the brewery's ales and I hope to return next time I'm in Hinckley.

Absolutely terrible!@ took 1 hour for a portion of chips.

Everything is just abit average there. It's like they are trying to be the old baron but they're just not there yet. It's got such a weird atmosphere and each time i go i get less and less keen on the place. As for social distancing the signs are there and to some degree they attempt to keep to it but realistically there isn't an ounce of it there. Whilst we sat down we had people lean over our table to chat to their mates at the bar on numerous occasions and the people behind us were right next to us aswell

Very friendly staff, probably the cheapest drinks in the area. Staff are really on the ball but unfortunately when busy, some door staff don't set the same standard. Very good COVID amendments, although a bit confusing upon entry. Great atmosphere, not tried the food so cannot comment.

Really good chicken but that's about it. Their garlic bread was half a burger bap with a bit of butter and some herbs on top then grilled! Chips were not restaurant quality at all, takeaway fries! The manager was lovely and tried to sort out any issues we brought up (specifically their app). I would only go back for the chicken.

Seems to have controlled social distancing well. Apart from the carpet and prices (they are still low for drink, but don't do CAMRA discount and I didn't eat) its as per the Wetherspoons was!

Great now it's not a witherspoons

I used the baron often when it was under Weatherspoons and was looking forward to experiencing the new "refurbished' baron. However, i was deeply disappointed in what patrons of Hinckley seem to be calling 'a breath of fresh air'... i can assure you its quite the opposite to say the least. For somewhere that's been marketed as upgraded didn't even have proper salt and pepper shakers, the laminated menus were battered and covered in old sauce and if i'm honest the decor didn't seem different at all. The staff were friendly and approachable however what i'd ordered wasn't put through the till correctly and i ended up with something i didn't want (i didn't realize this till the food arrived at the table). The coke i had tasted like a cheaper alternative not 'coca-cola'. i must admit the meat was good quality and the salad on the burger looked fresh but i was disappointed with the reheated chips that were not 'steakhouse' quality as stated on the menu. i shall not be returning to this establishment and recommend that anyone that wants a standard meal makes the short journey round the corner to castle cafe.
