I just popped in here for a pint after a long walk. Very good barman, excellent ham cob for only £2.50! The regulars were really friendly and helpful too.

Kept getting emails about cake & carvery for £10 so thought I'd give this a go. My hubby & I went at 6pm on Thur 23rd Oct and the only meats were gammon and beef. As a Hindu I don't eat beef (understand that's not the pubs fault) but by 6pm the poultry was already finished...no extra chicken/turkey cooked?! I wasn't even offered extra gammon or pigs in blankets!! I had to settle for more veg, but there were scraps of cauliflower and broccoli left in the pots...did they run out of boiled veg too!! Just not acceptable. When ordering/paying we had to choose our cakes, so looking at the opulent display I fancied carrot cake, only to be told there's only brownies, choc fudge or millionaires! What's the point of having variety on display, sharing offers/deals to potential customers only for them to look forward to a meal but with limited stock! Not a very nice experience and if you cannot maintain food levels do not bribe people in with offers.

We sat outside as it was a lovely day and we also have a puppy, we had to change tables as there were dog 💩 all around us as our dog was covered all on one side where he laid, tables were also covered in bird 💩, great breakfast shame about the garden not being cleaned up before they opened for business.

Been here a few times and always seem to regret it when the bill comes out. Working farm is a good atmosphere, nice food, OK staff, eye-wateringly expensive prices to the point you're better off going somewhere - ANYWHERE - else. Decided now won't be going back.

Very busy on arrival.Got a table ok and ordered drinks and food! The food arrived promptly and was hot and very good! Too much mash for the pies was decided but scampi was fine! Staff friendly and helpful! Decor need sorting out needs to be brighter and more welcoming! Could do with a big refurbishment and some patio doors onto the decking ! Would make inviting!

Nice bar, good food, friendly staff, BUT DO NOT USE THE TOILETS 🤢. They were absolutely disgusting! I should of known when walking up the stairs to them! I don’t think they had been cleaned for weeks!cobwebs everywhere, no toilet paper, toilets hadn’t and wouldn’t flush! No lock on the doors!! Terrible.. and the smell!! 🤢🤢.

I had booked us in for breakfast at 10.30am but there was no table reserved for us and we were told to sit where we liked, the only table available for the 3 of us being one covered in dirty plates and cups. Whilst I cleared the table the other 2 went to the buffet, returning with partial breakfasts…no eggs, no black pudding and over cooked bacon. By the time I got there the bacon was gone and there was now no sausage or even a plate to put anything on. When someone finally emerged from the kitchen I asked for a plate and was told more food was being cooked and would be 2 minutes so I waited to then be told it would be another 5 minutes. I decided to sit back down at this point so I could at least catch up with my family as they finished their food. On returning to the buffet some freshly cooked eggs were brought out but I was told the sausage / bacon would be another 2 mins….the sausages finally arrived but still no sign of the bacon, given that there were by now only a couple of eggs left as they were largely being used by one of the chefs to fill takeaway bags I decided to start putting what food there was on my plate until the bacon finally arrived! The rest of my family then got to watch me eat….. The staff were working flat out but there weren’t enough of them and to be honest even when the food did arrive it wasn’t great…. It’s a shame because this is a really handy venue to meet up with our son but we won’t be back.

First impressions; No table cloth! Drab room! Receptionist was also waitress! Tea was served in horrid white chunky cups. Afternoon tea on a chunky tiered plates...tiny scones on top with pre packed clotted cream...not even in a dish. Sandwiches were filled with what tasted like sandwich fillings and cheap ham. There was no finesse....we thought it was a bit like Fawlty Towers....and expected John Cleese to appear! It was great to be with friends who could all laugh at it! Won't be going back for seconds! It wasn't even well presented... We had a knife and had to use our tea spoons to serve jam!

I rased a complaint regarding the deficiency of customer service, this was because I feel a member of staff came across as condescending. I came to the pub week late and the individual member of staff deal with me in an hostile manner. The words she spoke in a truculent way was" I am a nice person how dare you say that about me everyone here thinks I am nice" After this conversation the issue was razed with Champs management at first they gas light saying there was no female member of staff. After member conversation champs management admit she was the but say "this was total out of character "once again gas lighting the situashion. I took the issue higher it felt once again that champs overall did want to take customer service serusly.

Stopped off for lunch after visiting ikea. Male member of staff emptied the rubbish bins then picked a plate up with our sandwich on it without even washing his hands in between. We said we had seen him handle the bins and he actually turned round and said 'it's OK because I only touched the plate, not the sandwich!!! Tables and floors are filthy, toilets also unclean...not starbucks usual standard.

Thought I'd try chips from here, never again, hot, hard and absolutely tasteless, I'm now nursing a burnt tongue.
