Syston Fish Bar in Charnwood

Thought I'd try chips from here, never again, hot, hard and absolutely tasteless, I'm now nursing a burnt tongue.

Ordered via Just Eat, 25 minutes late, food was cold: Plaice was sad looking and the chip butty had a mouldy bread roll thrown into the bag. Rang the shop and advised another fresh delivery within 20 minutes - that was an hour ago...still waiting

Yet again this chippy is "under new management" and it's even worse than it was before. Two shockingly bad visits twice in a row, first one the portion sizes have gotten a lot smaller and the batter from the fish stuck to the paper and ripped away from the fish was generally disgusting. Seen as the other chippy down the road is closed due to a gas main issue we ordered from here again, even worse this time, 2 hours after ordering food and chasing the order twice the order was cancelled. I immediately called up and was told the drivers car had broken down (how convenient) and in the next breath was told it was cancelled because they were so busy. Rubbish customer service and rubbish fish and chips. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

The shop has really improved since last few months. The orders are much quicker and food is just lovely. Deffo recommend and very kind staff.

Woeful. Took my order with a mobile phone in hand and headphones in ears. Didn’t wash hands. Detty pig. Questioned the hygiene regarding a pie and told to leave. Amazed; I did but after reading reviews think it was a lucky escape. Avoid at all costs, detty detty little pig.

Just had fish and chips and curry sauce look good when he put the fish in nice and fresh in the batter and though this looks good but when we got home on the plate what did we get a large porstion of batter and a fish finger and the curry sauce turns out to be peas whot a load of crap not fit for any body to eat had to bin it the worst fish and chips we had in our life time never aging in syston stay clear of this place peaple 😡😡😡

Walked in when the place was totally empty. The member of staff was on a personal mobile call and alarm bells should have rang at that point. Anyway got some food and once home realised how bad this place really is. Chips were stone cold and gravy was disgusting. All in all I will never ever go back to this place.

A few years ago this chippy was the best in Syston, now under new management it is disgusting the food was vile the Muslims running it have seriously bad attitudes and have no regard or respect for the customers avoid at all costs

Awful, don’t bother. 2nd time we’ve had bad fish and cold chips. Can of coke was hotter than the meal.

The food arrived late and was cold. Wrong items were sent and the food was that greasy it had soaked Ben through the bag. The portion sizes were extremely small and overall terrible.

Really average fish and chip shop. Service was painfully slow even though we were the only people in the shop to start with.
