The service from Kim and Cheryl were excellent, very friendly and well presented. We had spicy chicken nachos for starters, actually brought tears to my eyes, loved it. My wife loved her Scampi and chips, my steak was too greasy for me, onions soaked in the grease underneath, mushrooms were nice, plenty of chips, the pepper sauce was too weak and watery, I added pepper in the sauce to enhance the taste. We were too full for the deserts, cocktails were nice although my wife couldn’t taste the alcohol. But was a very pleasant evening, And the 25% discount was a bonus..

Great staff and friendly service. I like the app where you get money off vouchers and loyalty rewards. Also the table booking is very easy to use

Once again a good meal was had,we usually go mid week and the staff are friendly and professional,service with a smile, we will be back.

We've been coming here quite regularly since January 2024, and we've always found it to be vibrant and friendly. I've posted a review before but wanted to do another. The food was again very tasty and cooked just how we wanted. We had 2 surf and turfs, 1 ribs & steak, and 1 cajun chicken. For pudding we had 2 dessert shop waffles and 2 apple pie & custards. I had the waffle but hubby said the apple pie was really tasty. There are lots of events taking place and the night we went it was karaoke night. I even had a free shot because I'd sang the most songs. It was a great evening with family, made better by great food and happy & friendly staff, of which Kian was one. I believe the chef was Steven, so I definitely have to thank him for the tasty food. There's some sort of motorbike event on soon which may be interesting to attend. Thank you all again for a fun and welcoming visit.

Excellent service from both Natalie and Gareth,both very helpful happy individuals. Natalie has a smile that lights up the place. Nothing is too much for her. Food was great.

Very good service- came for lunch with my toddler who has an allergy- Gareth was very conscious of this and thorough with checking the order carefully, also using the Glass Onion app which shows allergens and may contains. He also must have spotted us on the way to the changing room and appeared with the key to unlock it as we arrived which was really considerate to save us having to come back and ask (it's a combined baby changing room and disabled toilet, hence the key). There were quite a few families there Sunday lunchtime.

Food was spot on. Soooo full. We swapped a few things like real cheese instead of American, no salad in burger etc and they got the order 100% right. Can’t fault it. Super good value. Lovely staff x

first 3 things we ordered they had ran out of, it was only 6pm, fish and chips, curry, and profiterole's...but the staff were brilliant and very embarrassed by saying they had ran out of food...louise and elaine...lovely as always

Every time I come here the staff are always super friendly, helpful and smiling. It's a great atmosphere for sports but you can enjoy a quiet meal in the resturant if you prefer and still have a view of the game. The atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming, the locals are a great laugh too. The new menu is unbelievable and great value for money, I've been back twice for their new Curry House Feast! Easily one of the best pubs in Loughborough in my opinion.

We called in to Maxwells (DOG FRIENDLY) pub with two small dogs and to our surprise, no greetings and instead a very young rude bar staff jumped down our throats saying, dogs go in the other side of the bar, we both have disabilities where there were no low seats with a table to sit at and very noisy people in the bar, we last visited there a couple of weeks ago and sat in the restaurant area where there was a hard floor area for dogs to sit and tonight, we get jumped on and shouted at to go in the bar area. I think the young lad in the bar (Keiran) needs to learn some manners!! So disappointing. We shall not be returning!

Myself and husband just had lunch at Maxwells . My husband had a mixed grill, I had a double cheese burger. It was AMAZING, the barmaid was absolutely brilliant, very helpful. It was nice to see a PROPER manager serving as well.

Service was far too slow (not busy). Table was booked for 2.30 and I remember looking at my watch as we were ordering desserts (only had main course previously) …. It was 4.15. Ordered from the app - a number of main courses were unavailable (probably 4 or 5 from a party of 8). My second choice was salmon with rice and veg. Veg was ok, rice was not salted and was undercooked, salmon was very much overcooked and was therefore dry. I would not recommend.

Gareth makes the best Mojitos!!!!!!!!! It didn't matter what flavour Garath made it, If was brought to the table Elaine came with a smile!! And Kim was a godsend!

Not impressed with the new menu at Maxwells. They've discontinued the Golden Years Menu, The Lunch time bites menu has gone. There's a really limited choice on wraps. You don't get a drink included with the price on most of the meals anymore. We go nearly every week to Maxwells but we won't be going so much now as it is a lot more expensive.

Visited today for my sons birthday Elaine was our server, kind,friendly and wonderful manners. it was a pleasure to have her as our server

Been numerous times when in Loughborough and invariably had a very nice meal, flavoursome and piping hot and cooked the way we asked for Excellent value for money Staff pleasant and efficient. The only time we had a bad experience was a Sunday late afternoon but in fairness the place was jammed.

Ever since their app was upgraded, there have been numerous problems with the app. All rewards are lost and logging in has become a nightmare. If it isn't broken don't fix it is the old adage.

Popped in for a few beers and lunch with the wife. Ended up stopping quite a bit longer! Great pub, food is great and reasonably priced. Nice selection and big menu. Staff were very friendly.

We were in a family group of 12 ordered food 3 meals not available including Ultimate surf and turf they had no king prawns the servers solution have it without the surf isn't that called a steak. anyway 10 meals came out we were nearly half way through our meals when the last 2 finally appeared after being chased my wife ordered a normal surf and turf with rare to medium steak what came out on the plate was well done to cremated now after waiting so long for her meal after the rest of the family she didn't want us all to be finished and ready to leave before she got a replacement so when they came and asked how's all your meals this was pointed out and just got a shrug of the waitresses shoulders. Sorry Maxwells definitely not the best Sizzling pub i have frequented and i will not be visiting again either

Staying nearby due to business trip and wanted a meal within walking distance. The restaurant appears to be in need of slight renovation but the staff was very polite and friendly. Service was very good and good choice of food items on the menu. The quality of the food was superb and this makes the restaurant and would definitely revisit. Overall, a very good restaurant but needs to be updated.

Met friends for lunch. Safety precautions were reassuring. Social distancing at bar to order food and drinks. Food was great and very good value and Chrissy, who served the food, was the fabulous friendly star that she always is!

5 of us dined here last week during the 'eat out to help out' scheme. The prices are reasonable anyway but this made it great value and we could treat ourselves a little more. The staff were very professional and clear when explaining new procedures because of the pandemic. We felt it was taken seriously here which was reassuring. We had a range of meals from gammon to steak to burgers but all of them were lovely, well seasoned and flavoursome. Service was efficient. We all had a lovely meal.

Always have a good meal in the Maxwells, bit of a wait today and alot of dishes had run out due to the 50% off, but nevertheless still looked after us and made us feel welcome thanks to Chrissy and the team.

Visited on Friday evening, our first visit here in a long time, and since social distancing in pubs and restaurants was introduced. Received a warm welcome on arrival from the Manageress (sorry don’t know her name), who clearly explained the new systems in place and it was obvious the pub was very clean and adhering to all the required health and hygiene rules. The food was very good value, served hot and in a timely manner, we couldn’t fault it. Particular thanks also to Lindsay and the American lady (again sorry don’t know her name) behind the bar who were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back very soon.

Really nice meal, lovely food including two steaks which were very tender. Salad was very fresh and tasty. Portion size was very good, spare a space for the deserts, we could only manage one between us. Kate, our waitress, was very friendly and checked that everything was OK, An asset to the pub. Covid setup was very good and well organised. This is our first meal out since lockdown regs eased and we felt very safe and relaxed. Kate explained the setup on our arrival and then clarified what to do when we got to our table. It seemed logical without being OTT. We shall be back as it s also good value for money and their is a good choice on the menu.

Had a lovely get together with friends. Was served by the delightful Chrissy. Was very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. She was a fabulous. I highly recommend the chilli shredded beef. Delicious.!!!

First time at Maxwell's last Sunday 8th March. It was really busy. A waitress (Chrissy) came over and showed us a table, gave us food menus and showed us table no. Food was amazing. Chrissy came back and asked us if everything was ok. Great service, would definitely come back.

First time here as we were visiting family. Ordered three different meals and each one was well cooked, tasty and very good value for money. The puddings were gorgeous too! Such a terrible visit, I normally come when lyndsey and Amy are on shift and it's great service and great to see them working as a team but I came on 11th February and lyndsey was just left running around taking food out and serving people behind the bar and making sure everyone is OK. VERY POOR MANAGEMENT for not supporting the staff that work in The maxwells! I will not be returning unless it's lyndsey and Amy on shift.

There is plenty of choice on the menu and we appreciated to option for larger portions especially the Hunters Chicken which was very good. Didn't take long for food to arrive either.

Arrived and waitress was clearing a table. As she was doing this, we asked if we could push the tables together as there were 5 of us. As she took some dirty dishes away she said no problem and we expected her back to wipe the table as it was filthy - she did not return so we had wipes on us and cleaned our own tables

Use Maxwells fairly regular for a small lunchtime meal after shopping. nearly always go for the Golden Years menu (2 courses). As always at a recent visit the welcome was friendly, the food and drinks were good and the table service by Chrissy was as always first class. All the staff are cheerful and friendly

My wife and I were part of a group of 12 people pre booked for the special Christmas menu this was three courses at a very reasonable set price of £12.95 when we arrived they had prepared a table to accommodate us all. We have often eaten here before as a couple and have always found it to be great value for money the staff are always freindly and welcoming and always do there very best for the customers, ours was a large group but they still managed to get us all served as near together as you could ever expect they were very keen to make sure that everyone was happy and had what they needed.

We visit Maxwells on a fairly regular basis but hadn´t been recently. The food is always good quality, freshly cooked and served quickly, the staff are always helpful and friendly and the restaurant is bright, warm and clean. I was pleased to see a new menu on this visit and delighted to see that the lemon peri peri skewers had been reintroduced, as they are a particular favourite of ours. One of us had a burger and Mum had a chicken dish with Diane Sauce which was served with mashed potato, which she loved but I can´t remember the name of. We have never had a bad meal on all of our visits here and you didn´t let us down this time. Keep up the good work.

I came to the Maxwells after a long day getting the garden ready for Christmas and my god was I impressed. The manager came to take my order with the greatest of enthusiasm that I have ever seen and welcomed me gratiously. I ordered a pepperjack stacker burger and was informed about the option to upgrade my basic selection of side orders from chips to sweet potato fries (which I recommend fully as they add a new and exciting dimention to this dish).

Delighted with my most recent visit. Our error meant that we were one meal down - Chrissy, our lovely server, did her utmost to get the forgotten meal rushed through and the kitchen obliged even though it was incredibly busy.

Food was fast and good quality which surprised us as it was cheap, we all had something completely different and everyone was happy. Think it's very much a locals pub as most people seem to know each other but they were friendly.
