Brilliant little pub, definitely worth a visit. We didn't stay in the rooms, was just a stop off for a Sunday roast. Great food and dog friendly with a nice warm roasting fire - with an equally warm welcome. Ideal if you're on walks in the areas.

Nice cafe but why do the owners not update the website to make all of us loyal customers aware that they’re taking a well-earned break? Really frustrating to travel to Fowey after checking online and seeing “open until 4.00pm”. This is 2025 not 1925…..use the website for what it’s intended for or be like many other (crap) hospitality businesses that don’t even bother with an online presence?

I had lunch here for the first (and last) time today. I hope my review helps others as I’ve very rarely been confused enough to write a review of a restaurant. Firstly, they have tapas of 3 plates with a glass of wine for £18.50. I’ve a urinary infection atm, so definitely no wine. I asked for the tapas minus the wine please, but was told I’d be charged for wine anyway🤷♀️. Where is the flexibility? Then told I could have coffee or tea instead? I’m only drinking water because I have an infection I explain. Still no budge. Ok, I’ll have the hummus, then. The hummus is not a side but it’s on the menu as a main. Surprised to see a small tea plate arriving with a small portion and told I need to order bread (in order to eat the hummous) at £6.50 a portion. Either that or you can eat it on its own which no one has ever done in the history of hummous! My friend ordered a celery dish, which also came in a tasting size at £12 a portion. We ate, paid (mistake in the charge which I noticed, not once, but twice) left hungry and went somewhere else to have lunch… I see this review has been answered by the owner not addressing this complaint in a customer friendly manner at all. But rather answering with a lie. I was NOT offered another dish at all AND I wish I’d taken photos of what I was served in order others can see the size of your “great value for money” portion. I’ve since spoken to people who live in this town who thought it terrible behavior but not uncommon for this place and another cafe owner on the street who also thought it was unacceptable. I can now see why, if this is how a genuine compliant is met from a restaurant owner. Also no apology for over charging by £22 to which I had to point out to the server and then over charging again by £11 before I received the correct bill. And if it’s “so popular” as the owner writes, why were there only two tables occupied at peak lunch time🤷♀️ It’s quite simple!
