The Cruffin had a crispy flaky top, Buttery, jam and custard filled centre. Loved every single bite. Tried lots of different cruffins, duffins, muffins and any other type of food ending in fins and this was up at the top of the leaderboard. Pasty was packed with steak, potato, suede and onions. Lovely stuff. Plus as it’s winter right now, no queuing!

Essential when visiting st Ives, a true combination of quantity, quality and a bargain! Get the cruffin!

Bought a cheese and veg Cornish pasty here and not disapointed. The pasty was warm and savory, also the portion was just right. They also have vegetarian options. This place seems to be very popular, we went there in the afternoon and the only Cornish pasty available only the cheese and veg (lucky for me, this is what I want to order lol). The people here were also very nice.

Amazing flaky sausage roll and delicious plain and fruit scones & tasty, buttery cruffins

Have always been walking past looking at the delicious window display to see their generous sized bakes, but only this time did we get a chance to go in. We purchased some flakey steak and shortcrust steak pasties, and both were absolutely delicious! It had a lovely filling and there was a good amount, especially in the shortcrust! The flakey was a nice lighter pastry with a good crumble, and the shortcrust was a nice firmer shell (my favourite). The crust especially was delicious. It gets very busy, though, so do watch out! We then came later and got a cruffin as we've seen their good reviews and oh you must give one a go. They are packed with custard and jam with such a soft center, then have a nice crisp outside covered in sugar. I highly recommend it!

Chicken, bacon and leek pasty one of the best I’ve had!

Window display looks amazing and who wouldn't want to try a cruffin? Second visit to St Ives Bakery and twice disappointed. The overpriced sourdough loaf was over baked and bone dry and one of the cruffins had nothing inside.

And on the seventh day God created the Cruffin. Absolutely devine! You get a lot for £3.50, definitely bigger than a muffin that you would get from a supermarket, and the texture of the croissant mixed with the flavour of the jam and custard is really nice. I’d consider moving to St Ives, just for these alone. A little bit of a queue to get into the bakery itself, as they limit how many can get into the shop section, but I’m glad that we bought more than one to share

Some of the best bread I’ve ever eaten. A loaf will set you back £4, but it’s worth it for the best slice of toast you’ll ever likely eat. Flakey steak pasty’s are also a must and sell out quick.

We visited for a delightful cruffin and a caramel shortbread. The smell was so enticing, and the window display was amazing. The sheer variety is amazing here and definately worth a try!

We visited this place for the first time on our road trip around Cornwall. Our expectations were high, but after trying some of their famous pastries, we were quite disappointed. Everything tasted average. The cruffin was okay, nothing special, and the cinnamon bun/roll was very dry and not very cinnamony. Would not come back. #travelwithtentbox

Great bakery, everything is delicious but the breads are best of all

A charming and delightful bakery. They offer a wide variety of freshly baked pastries, both sweet and savory. We visited specifically for their delectable Cruffins, a delectable hybrid of a croissant and a muffin, filled with jam and clotted cream. They are simply divine when warmed up. The bakery is quite small, so there is only enough space for one customer at a time. It is conveniently located in the back streets behind the St Ives sea front.

My girlfriend and I both had a cruffin, a pastry made from croissant dough with custard and jam filling. Her cruffin also contained both, unfortunately mine had no sign or taste of custard. It's a shame, because I bought it precisely because of the above-mentioned filling. Aside from that, the cruffin still tasted good. You can't sit in the bakery and the operating process is a bit awkward. Because of this, more than two people can't actually be in the store at the same time and everything takes a little longer than might be necessary.

Staff very unhelpful when we asked if the pasty and sausage roll could be cut in half as we weren't that hungry and wanted to share - they said NO!. The pasty was mainly potato and swede just one miniscule piece of beef. The sausage roll was cold.

Burnt pastries and poor service. They lure you in with the nice pastries in the window only to serve you burnt ones they should have chucked away. Wasn’t event acknowledged by the staff. Disappointing

If you've never tasted a cruffin, get yourself here! We queued for around 5 minutes to enter, but once inside we ordered very quick. Reasonably priced, and my wife won't stop talking about the pasty she had. Delicious

Went in as saw posts of it, no queue closed off inside, we did get a hi, however downhill from there, asked for cruffin to take away, the guy said ‘yeah £3.75’ and thats it no thanks nothing didn’t even know if the payment went through, anyhoo, tried the cruffin- store bought jam in there and custard is plain and nasty, we even saw a couple try it after we bought it and saw their faces so we knew it wasn’t gonna be good, just a big hype over nothing and queue only because theres no space inside thats all.

Literally the nicest smelling place on planet earth. Cruffin is absolutely incredible.

The cruffins are excellent and great bread but scones that needed defrosting. I’m all for no waste and sustainability but no bakery should be charging a premium for defrosted baked goods, especially when part of the treat is freshly baked goods.

Rude staff I went to buy loaf but just came out because of him. Ignored customer, and didn't even care about what customer says.

Been there 2 years ago and loved it. Had a pastie and a cruffin. Sadly not today. Decided for a cinnamon bun and it was just dry and chewy! It must have been a leftover from the day before. Pls if you wanna sell leftovers maybe for a cheaper price and let people know. I do understand its sad to waste food but it was really bad quality this time!

Good but not great. Something has changed in the last year. They use to be so fresh and home baked but now they seem more like a Greggs but nowhere near as bad. Shame

Love this bakery. I have tried a various range of products such as the Sourdough Loaf, Ciabatta Rolls, Croissants etc and the quality is fantastic. The owner is knowledgeable and always up for a chat with customers. If you visit, be prepared for a short queue to get into the shop but don't let that put you off. I will be back next year!

Popped in just after opening, was told sausage rolls would be an hour wait?! Cruffin was good but cinnamon bun was chewy and dry (maybe left over from day before?)

Steak & Stilton Pasty was delicious! But the Cruffin was to be desired. Definitely style over substance with them, the custard was tasteless and as I was eating it I couldn’t wait for it to end. Didn’t want to bin it as I’d paid £3.50 for it!

The cruffin and scone we purchased were delicious but the 2 people behind the counter barely acknowledged us or made eye contact and didn’t even break from the personal conversation they were having to wait on us. Sorry to inconvenience you both by coming into your shop and purchasing something

Best pasty you'll eat. The first bite already brought a tsunami of flavour to my mouth, but I realised I bit on the crust only, none of the fillings were in the first bite! The pastries were so well made and well flavoured, truly the gold standard of pasties.

I came across this place while searching for Cornish pastries. There was a queue outside here and while you are queuing you can see what types of bakery items that were available. The Cornish scones were 95p each! I was tempted to buy some, but I wanted to grab some cruffins instead. These had custard and I think it was a strawberry jam inside too. There was a bit too much strawberry jam so I had to remove some. But the cruffin pastry was very crispy! You queue to go in and you make your purchase and then you leave through the door and come out from the side of the building. It’s a small shop, but everything is freshly baked. They were baking items in the back when we making payment.

Usually queues to get into the small bakery…no seating. The sourdough was superbly chewy! We made an extra visit before we left Cornwall (yes because it was that good) to take home and freeze the bread to enjoy a little longer….

The food here was really nice with the cruffin being something I haven’t tried before, it’s in the shape of a muffin, with a jam filling and the texture of a croissant. Purely for that it gets 5 stars on its own but then the pasties were amazing especially the Stilton and steak pasty. There is a queue outside so allow at least 5 minutes for that.

Friendly Service! I stopped in this morning for a cruffin and a cinnamon brioche. They were both delicious then I had a steak and Stilton pasty. Simply amazing food.

Great pasties. Well seasoned and very tasty. I would recommend visiting earlier in the day for more options as I visited twice and both time couple of the pasty options were sold out!

Nice bakery with reasonable price!!

We bought a freshly baked sourdough loaf here for our holiday stay. Excellent flavour and texture. Also came back to try the obligatory cruffin. It’s the first one I’ve had, but I’m going to assume it’s a good one! Fluffy, crunchy, sugary goodness that makes a great treat!

Got carried away and bought a sourdough bread, fruit scones, and a steak & stilton pasty. Super fresh, and super yummy. A fantastic artisan bakery. Can’t wait to go back for more!

Centrally located pasty and pastry shop. There is no indoor seating, but seaside benches are nearby. Service is fast, and the vegetarian pasty was decent quantity for just over £4.

All i can say is a visit to St Ives Bakery will now be an event added to my calendar (frequency as many as possible) the sole purpose being a cruffin run. I should say though that the shop looks amazing with lots of baked goods. Photos of the shop front already do it justice. However i am purely commenting here about cruffin. What is a cruffin you may ask. Well apart from it being something i plan to eat a great many of its a muffin shaped sweet croissant these one being filed with jam and custard. They are huge delicious juicy scrumptious and now something i feel very passionate about. Just sorry i don’t live above the bakery. Anyway they are a must try and you may fancy a loaf or a scone too. Just make sure you have a decent cloth to catch all the ooziness from them. Bad photo just Didnt take any of the first one I ate overlooking the cliffs out towards Pendeen at lunch. The added picture is my supper snack. Yum yum.

What an absolute jewel! Nestled in the beautiful village of cobbled streets and independent shops is this quaint little bakery, with an impressive display of mouth-watering breads and pastries in the window. It's so small that it's a one-way system inside, and you can see the bakers working in front of the hot ovens. The smell is amazing. We opted for 4 items: a "cruffin", a meringue, a bun and a millionaire's shortbread. They are all so big that we cut everything in half to enjoy the following day. You won't be disappointed 😋

It feels like the place has been taken over since our last visit to St Ives a few years ago and it feels so much better now. Thoroughly recommend the pasties particularly if there's a hot batch just out the oven. Good selection of Bread and Pastries and prices are OK too.

Purchased a Cheese & Vegetable pasty this morning after hearing good things on numerous online reviews & videos. The pasty are top notch from here, the flaky pastry was nice warm with a generous amount of well seasoned filling, if you prefer alternative fillings then you have a great choice here. The staff were so friendly & helpful plus the one way in/ one way out system in the shop itself works very well. This is an independent business & imo deserves all the positive reviews & praise they get as I think this is the best pasty I’ve had in a long time. So much so that I’m going back for steak one tomorrow 😋

I was in the St Ives bakery a week ago, love the shop. Easy to speak with, I love the cruffin's they are my favourite. I would definitely go back there. The second time I went was while I was on holiday in St. Ives definitely coming back. Beautiful bakery. Cruffins lured me in and boy was I not disappointed. Huge, soft, with a semi crunchy exterior filled with an oozing, sweet strawberry jam and a thick, creamy custard. Don't even like custard, loved, loved, loved these 😍😍😍

Absolutely the tastiest pasty I’ve ever eaten. And it was massive! Filled with good chunks of beef and vegetables. Yum!

Cruffin on the outside and inside! Not too sweet. The size is quite large so it's perfect for two people to eat as a snack.

If you're after the best cornish pasty, make sure you keep walking past all the other options and get one from here, you won't regret it! They do other bakery items too, after a week of sampling pasties from various places, this was hands down the best!

Traditional beef pasty was okay, we didn't quite get used to the taste of the vege pasty. The pasties were warm and inviting in the chilly windy weather. We liked the cruffins, especially the apricot (think it was) jam one.

Best veggie pasties in St Ives and I've tried allot! Consistent quality and nice staff. We buy bread here as a weekly treat and are never disappointed. The Turkish flat bread is my current favourite but you can't go wrong.

Beautiful flavour seasoned just right, juicy filling and tender beef, I had the shortcrust pastry which was just the right texture, firm enough to hold the filling but melt in the mouth. Just how you want a cornish pasty to be! Thank you for the memory :)

We were led to St Ives Bakery by the reviews on here and it lived up to expectations. The Cruffins, Cinnamon Buns, Pain Au Raisin and Portuguese custard tarts were unbelievably tasty. We will definitely be returning here on our next trip to St Ives. Get there early to beat the queue

Incredible pasties! We ordered a flaky steak and a cheese and vegetable fresh out of the oven. We walked around to Porthkidney beach which took us over 1 hour and a half and the pasties were still warm and flaky by that point! Maybe the best pasties we’ve ever eaten!

(Yes, I know Hasty doesn't rhyme with Pasty.) The pasties from St. Ives Bakery cannot be missed. Stay in the queue at lunchtime. It's so worth it! We ordered a Beef and Stilton and a Veg. Both were chock full of deliciousness! We also went back for breakfast for a Cruffin filled with jam and custard. (Add sound of licking chops here) and the wholemeal bread we took back to the cottage was not only beautiful to look at, but it was devoured with relish.

Stayed for a week in St. Ives and tried the infamous cruffins from St. Ives bakery. They did not disappoint! Large buttery croissant shaped like a muffin with delicious strawberry jam and fresh custard in the center. Need I say anymore. We went back almost every day for our breakfast cruffin. Delicious!

Although there were dozens of pasty shops in the area, I was attracted to the modern shop front design here. I didn't try others' pasties so I couldn't say if theirs were the best. But the one I had was crusty outside and juicy meaty inside. Have one for tea and you won't have to worry about dinner.
