Lovely pub. We ate in the bar because our friends had their dog with them. Didn't see the restaurant area but hopefully next time. The bar area was fine but not very busy but I'm sure the atmosphere in the restaurant area was better but that's our fault for having a dog with us. Staff were lovely and friendly.

Scrumptious💕good to warm your heart had the most fabulous evening last night. The food was simply outstanding. The wines were supplied by Sovereign Wines…delicious. Gorgeous meat from Palmers the butcher. Dartmoor Ice-cream and Flapjackery added to our delicious desserts and Pettifours. 43 people dined and received exemplary service and outstanding food. As a fundraiser we raised a good sum of money for The Tavistock Foodbank. As a community group we totalled £3915 so far for charitable causes. As a community group we enjoyed great company in a fabulous local restaurant serving delicious local food supplied by local businesses. What more could we ask for! Thank you Mike Palmer and your amazing team. Give this new business a chance and spend an evening here you won’t regret it for a moment. 43 the best food we have enjoyed in a long time. Great venue for Christmas parties and any functions for up to 50 people.

As it was a sunny day, the place was busy although we found a table. Recently the menu has changed in my view for the worst. Prices have leapt with choice not as good as it used to be. Although our order arrived in decent time one or two people who came in after us left upon being informed there was a waiting time of over 30 mins for cooked food. We have been regulars here but with the menu change and big increase in prices will sadly look elsewhere.

We have just come back from having afternoon tea here today and I cannot thank Val enough. We received a warm welcome, the food was amazing and I am gluten free and felt completely in safe hands with lovely food. Val provide food and gifts for my grandchildren and our friends grandchildren and nothing was too much for her. We are planning a return visit soon, next time child free and with Prosecco-thank you Val for your attentive and caring service.

I'd driven past The White Horse loads of times and it always looked appealing. The car park seemed constantly busy and the reviews on here were good, which I also thought was a good sign. We decided to stop off on the way back from a football match for dinner on Saturday evening. I did book a table online first as I thought that Saturday might be busy. Arrived 15 minutes early, no problem though straight to the table. Drinks ordered and brought promptly and then ordered food. There is a really good selection on offer and we both decided to go for mains and desserts. The food was really nicely presented and came nice and hot, a pet annoyance of mine is tepid food, but not here. Red mullet with Parma ham served on a ‘bubble & squeak’ style curly kale & caper mash with lemon butter and crispy Parma ham and Venison Meatballs with roasted garlic & rosemary mash, braised red cabbage & redcurrant gravy. Both were excellent! We ordered desserts too which were equally good. The service is top notch, very attentive, but not intrusive and we didn't need to ask for anything the whole time we were there. No waiting for the bill either, simply walk to the welcome desk and my bill was ready for me. I couldn't recommend this Inn highly enough and I think this will be a regular stop now!

Visited twice during a 6 week period in 2019 and had different meals each time. We returned to see if we had got something wrong however this turned out not to be the case. What food we had was enjoyable however there simply was not enough of it to justify the spend - therefore it can be deemed as expensive for what we had. The staff are nice and the place itself also nice however just wish it was better value for money than was found. Drinks are also overpriced. As an example, a dessert mousse which I though would be quite rich and in abundance left me wanting for more as there was simply an inch in a glass with more oaty toppings than mousse and in a couple of small spoons it was gone. It would have been nice to have more for the money. Maybe the name Bistro gives it away and should have realised that we were only going to get "Pretty food" and not wholesome filling food but we live and learn. Doubt we would return for a third time sadly. UPDATE AUGUST 2022 THE BRIDGE BISTRO IS NO LONGER OPEN OR TRADING

Had dinner with family here at the weekend. Internally the pub/restaurant is very nice warm and welcoming. Menu looks good and prices are fine if the quality of food matches the price.Unfortunately we did not find that to be the case. Its certainly not Michelin standard in my view. Portion sizes particularly starters and desserts are small. Two of my party wanted to try the ice creams for dessert.....a scoop is £3 which is pretty average but the scoop was not much more than teaspoon sizes, smallest we have ever seen. The mains were ok but nothing very special. Overall it was nice and thats being kind. Would we go back.....no.

Have been visiting Cromer many many times over the years but had never found this gem before. Was made to feel welcome as soon as we set foot in the building - very personable and friendly. Food was amazing with many ingredients home grown. The venison and chorizo stew to share was out of this world. They were also very patient with young diners - offered a children’s menu too. Already planning our return.
