Fabulous afternoon tea, in a recently refurbished room, beautifully decorated in lilac and silver. Ian was our host, and nothing was too much trouble! Sandwiches were really fresh and tasty, scones - plain and fruit - were warm and delicious. some small patisserie cakes too! Tea was topped up regularly, and boxes handed out if you couldn't eat it all! Would thoroughly recommend. Ian was a ⭐

We were greeted nicely on arrival, drinks were ordered and level of afternoon tea confirmed. This was a celebration for a belated 60th Birthday, with 6 guests attending of various ages. When food was first presented it looked nice. Sadly the sandwiches were not good. They had obviously been prepared a while before we arrived! They were going dry and slightly stale, this was the same on all three stands. The ham and mustard sandwiches also had so much mustard spread on it was running out of the sides. Most of the sandwiches were still on the cake stands when we left. No one questioned why. No one came to clear away our table as I hoped to speak to one of the staff, away from earshot of the Birthday girl but we got very little attention from staff, in fact we had to leave the room to catch staff for more drinks etc. There was a large function going on with people gathering and obviously this was pulling staff away. We all agreed would not attend Afternoon Tea here again.

Had the most wonderful family afternoon tea, beautifully presented and tasted delicious!! Service by Harry was impeccable and personable, Sarah (Head Pastry Chef) has done the hotel proud with the interesting choice of little cakes. Scones were the best we’ve tasted!! Lovely choice of teas too. The Tea Room is decorated in soft greys and pinks and is a very calming space. Chairs are super comfy and help you relax and enjoy afternoon tea even more! Highly recommend

My friend took me here for an afternoon tea to celebrate my birthday. From the moment we arrived we were greated with happy smiley faces. We were taken into the team room and a glass of water and tea quickly arranged. Afternoon tea are prompty and the manager came in to wish me a happy birthday. The hotel had created a special valentines afternoon tea which was just delicious! Once we had finished our food, a happy birthday plate arrived along with some champagne to wish me well! Such a wonderful surprise. I felt like royalty throughout my visit and would not hesitate in recommending this beautiful hotel to anyone! Thank you lovely people for looking after me!

Went for afternoon tea - it was really lovely - the sandwiches, cakes and scones were freshly made and delicious. Plenty of clotted cream and choice of teas, jams and coffee. Nice variety of generous sandwich fillings with a mixture of white/brown bread to suit the fillings, which we all enjoyed. Thank You Chef! The ambience of the room was sumptuous splendour - tastefully decorated, and very relaxing and peaceful. We had fantastic service from Harry - He is a consummate professional, so charming and really looked after us with 5 star service. It is really the staff who make you feel special and make you want to return, and we all said that we will definitely be doing that soon in the very near future. Thank you Harry for our lovely afternoon!

After visiting the Laura Ashley Tea room many times this time I came away feeling disappointed , it is now The Tea room , still very pleasant surrounding , but tired chairs , changed my chair as the wood was sticking though the chair and pressing onto the backs of my legs , we were a party of 4 and all had the same problem . We ordered the teas we all chose , these arrived very weak and we had to ask for more tea so we could taste it .The waitress was lovely and apologised and made it rite . Tea stand arrived and all was very pretty , sandwiches though were very poorly filled, scones lovely and good selection of tasty sweets . The room was so cold we had to put our coats on ! When paying we were told it was £30.50 each , I queried this as when I booked I was told £27 pp. I’m guessing service charge had been added , something we should have been told . Sometimes it’s the little things .. that really matter . The tea should have been stronger , warm room ,comfy chairs , filled sandwiches and no extra costs added on .

I was organizing a baby shower for my friend and wanted to do an afternoon tea experience for her. I got in touch with the hotel and spoke to Ian who I could instantly tell would go out of his way to help make this a special day for her and I felt we would be in good hands having it here. It was really lovely, we were offered the brasserie room so we could have our own little private party, play games, use the speaker for music so I could make my own playlist etc and in the organisation of it all nothing was too much trouble for Ian, as I had special dietary requirements for individual guests etc he was very obliging and helpful. I took decorations with me and Ian made sure the room had already been decorated beautifully with the long table when we arrived and as it's close to Christmas time that was a lovely touch decor wise too. Ian was there to personally greet us all and say hello even though he wasn't actually working that day, but took the time regardless to pop in and check everything was fine and that we were all set up and he gave my friend a box of chocolates to wish her congratulations, a very sweet touch. There was a waiter called Harry who we were left in the care of and he was very attentive and helpful. The venue was a perfect spot really and I was very happy with holding my friend's baby shower there and grateful for the assistance in making it a special day for her and her guests.

We had been to the Tea Room before when it still carried the Laura Ashley name. It was a very fine tea room then. Unfortunately, it is now a little on the tired side and standards have slipped. We were the only customers that afternoon (1600). The table layout had not been checked and as a result there were no tea strainers laid or a tea brew timer on the table. The service was pleasant and effective. However, the tea offering did leave a bit to be desired. The bread was commercial sliced. Ham and mustard had been very heavy on the mustard to the point where some of our party had to scrape off the mustard. On the plus side the scones were warm and the warm tart was very nice. The chocolate sandwich was good and the pomegranate posset was very pleasant. Tea refills were plentiful. Errors were quickly resolved. For the area the price is very competitive (including a glass of Prosecco). The whole hotel complex is tired. Carpets in need of replacement, paintwork in need of a refresh. We would recommend this tea room, but with the caveat that you could perhaps get some hiccups in the experience.

The service was shocking as there was a table next to me that booked a vegan and vegetarian tea which the hotel was not prepared. The vegetarian was then offered salmon and egg sandwiches which made no sense. Their tea on arrived 20 minutes later. Really need to do better

Visited with 2 elderly friends we had a lovely time. All waiters were caring and made the experience special. The food is good but the only suggestion would be to have a little more savoury e.g. A cheese scone and an addition sandwich and less cake The room is very nice and the whole experience Is worthwhile.

We came with our children to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary as we got married at the hotel. We were seated and the tea came quickly, it is well presented and was tasty, but none of the servers knew what anyone else was doing. We had five different people asking us the same questions at regular intervals and the manager had no sense of personal space, let alone social distancing. So close we could smell cigarettes on his breath. He was far too close, inches from my husband’s face, and ruffled my son’s hair several times which unnerved him. The children’s afternoon tea is lovely but despite promising donuts and sauce there weren’t any and it was only when we mentioned this that the lovely young waitress told us they don’t do them anymore. Not a huge deal but rather disappointing for a six-year-old who is expecting them. Random people kept coming up, asking if we were enjoying our meal then loitering as we felt increasingly awkward. We left after 50 minutes so all in all a very expensive (£96) hour which wasn’t particularly enjoyable. It’s a real shame as this was supposed to be a really special celebration. We won’t be going back.

Maybe we were unlucky??? Had very high Hopes going for afternoon tea at the Laura Ashley tea room at Burnham Beaches Hotel. Was unimpressed to be honest. Greated by a miserable looking man who never cracked a smile and seemed totally uninterested. Showed us to a small table, which was fine in itself, but this is a very intimate dinning area and tables are very close together. Decor pleasant but you really wouldn't know it had anything to do with Laura Ashley. Cobwebs in the corners of the room, tarnished silver on display. The food seemed stale, sandwiches were underseasoned and scones hard and unable to split in half, had to saw atvyhem with a knife, no choice of jam it was strawberry or nothing. Petit four cakes were cold from the fridge which made them soggy and unappetizing, also difficult to taste what the flavour was supposed to be. We could see there was a wedding going on while we were there which was probably wonderful for them but left us thinking that the rest of the guests in the restaurants and hotel were not important. When we were paying for the tea (as no one approached us whilst at the table) we were asked if it was ok? I did say I had been disappointed, it was met with a shrug and nothing else! Will not be returning or recommending Laura Ashley tea room to anyone unfortunately.

Beautiful room over looking the garden. We chose the Champagne cream tea. Lovely selection of sandwiches, warm scones and assorted mini cakes plus a wide range of leaf teas. All delicious. The Hotel is running on low staff but that said the girl who served us managed a high level of service to all the guests on her own. I would diffenetly return. The hotel is in a rural setting and the entrance sat nav took us wasn't obvious it was the hotel. Wasn't sure this was the main way into the carpark. Well worth a visit.

My husband I visited Humphrey’s for our anniversary. The menu for vegetarian was so disappointing. The items on the menu were a mismatch , there was no specific cuisine type. I ordered the pea and mint soup as a starter. I had to ask for Salt and pepper as there was no seasoning . I couldn’t taste the mint and the soup was gritty. It was not smooth. Perhaps it was not meant to be, but seasoning should of been there. When the waitress asked how it was, I was honest and said it was not great . Her response “ ok” ! My main was chosen from their main menu, rather than the vegetarian menu ( as it was not enticing) I chose the mushroom risotto. The waiter told me that they can make the risotto vegetarian friendly (without Parmesan) . The dish arrived and Again no seasoning. I thought it was me being pickey, so I asked my husband to try abs he agreed , it was flavourless. I asked the waiter if they can add seasoning. He told me that due to no Parmesan the taste will be pretty much the same. You think being a fine dining restaurant they would have vegetarian alternatives to parmigiana cheese ( even I have in my fridge ). I then asked not to bother to remake with seasoning and thought maybe something from the vegetarian/ vegan menu will be better. I chose the spaghetti in tomato sauce. I was better of not ordering it and eating the bread. It was something a child would eat. If an Italian came To eat this , they would be appalled. I ate 1/4, out of politeness. I didn’t say anything, as at this point I just wanted to hurry up and leave. Final course chocolate fondant ... finally something that was great. I wish I had just gone straight to the dessert . When the bill came, I couldn’t believe that my tasteless meal cost £68. How can spaghetti in some tomato sauce cost £22. I have had some amazing simple pasta in fine dining Michelin star restaurant and willing to pay high price. But this, as I said is something a child would get at school. Also my husbands food was great , crab, prawns to start and halibut for main. That I understand to £68, but for vegetarian it was ridiculous. Even in Michelin star restaurant, the set menus or tasting veg menu is a little cheaper , so this place is just taking advantage. Vegetarian/ vegan food has come a long way and many chefs have learnt the art to take a vegetable and turn it into a incredible meal. This place has clearly not adopted this and think serving some spaghetti in tomato sauce with no seasoning is fine dining! Even other items on the veg menu didn’t look great. If you are vegetarian/vegan, do not eat here. Plus side, deserts were great and main menu was good ( according to my husband)
