Lovely little place in itself to visit. Food is lovely, but service does let it down. I've been here twice now (once mid-week, and once on a Saturday; both times with the cafe itself half full) and the service has been very slow. Both times we've waited 40 minutes plus for our food to arrive. I wouldn't have minded if they had been more upfront about wait times. As said, the food was lovely, but personally not worth the wait in my opinion. We also ordered a kids meal, and the chips came out quite heavily salted which was a shame.

We had a delicious breakfast this morning, the bacon was beautiful and my husband commented on how delicious the sausages were. My daughters thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the animals and talking to the friendly staff! (Like a free visit to the petting zoo without the crowds!) the piglets were absolutely adorable. The animals looked well looked after and clean. Every time we visit it seems to get more exciting with new animals can’t wait to see who arrives next! Thanks Golden Valley we will be back soon!

Always excellent whether for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. The food is great, the friendly atmosphere wonderful and the countryside setting so peaceful. And the animals and birds (headed by Neville the Emu) help make each visit something special. Recently some beautiful peacocks have joined the menagerie and their cries create a marvellous atmosphere of grand gardens from bygone days.

Our first visit after I saw the advert on fb with excellent reviews. Another lovely farm shop near me, food, beverages was good and affordable, free ample parking spaces, all the animals we saw are well cared for. Highly recommended to visit this lovely place, look out for the variety of apple trees. There was a large tree baring tons of plums, czar ones?

My wife and I came for our lunch today. It was our second time visiting the cafe, the first visit was lovely. This visit sadly wasn't ! We ordered our food and waited patiently, but sat seeing other orders being taken out , but ours still didn't arrive. I went up to the counter after half an hour to politely ask about our food. I was told it would be a few minutes. So again waited, but still no food . I went up to the counter again to ask if it was on its way, I was it was. We then saw one of the staff come out with the food, only to go in and out of the kitchen several times !!!! Eventually it was brought over , with the reason being he had been given the wrong table number. Unfortunately due to the food being sat around it was cold. My wife returned the food to the counter and then had to wait for a fresh one to be cooked. We had an apology, but no offer of a complimentary drink or refund. I feel very disappointed with this visit and probably would not recommend to others

Went to take parents for a treat & shop in the farm shop. The cafe was very busy, although the menu was very uninspiring in my opinion. I ate a cheese wrap which was very bland containing sliced cheese, lettuce & one cherry tomato cut in half, there was no dressing gor anything else to give flavour. There was a side of lettuce & a small amount of coleslaw. That said they were avery accommodating in altering one of the meals for us as a mix & match not on the menu. The farm shop wasn't what I would class as a shop, more of a shelf with some items to purchase. Having recently visited a very very good farm shop & cafe in Aberaeon, Wales I feel this one has a long way to go if they want to be compete for a market share of the ever increasing volume of farm cafes around.

This was our second visit as the food and atmosphere is great here. Unfortunately on this occasion it made us feel very uncomfortable. We actually ordered the same as before as it was so nice. When my husband came back to the table he said it was considerably more expensive. He went back to girl who immediately said it was correct without checking. We knew the price of the food so it ment two teas were £12! When the gentleman brought our teas over I asked him how much teas are, he mumbled something and walked away. We felt really awkward by now, no one likes to complain but it wasn't a few pence. We just thought they were not happy about being pulled up on the mistake. After a little while he brought the card machine over and said tap your card, no explanation. My husband said why, then I noticed -£7.50 on it. So I said So we were overcharged. His reply was, "it happens sometimes, drinks, like two cappuccinos from a previous order are not cleared so can be left on there"! I was shocked at this. How many times does it happen! Why didn't the girl check when asked if it's a problem! Upset that we felt embarrassed for making a fuss about it, and the matter-of-fact way the guy delt with it. Do please check your bill, as I would hate for anyone to be over charged so flippantly as we were by 25%.

I visited with my Nan who has poor mobility, but as we were able to park close to the cafe and farm shop and she could walk in on level ground, it was ideal. We were warmly welcomed by a friend of the owners, and despite it being busy as it was a wonderfully sunny day, the staff were helpful and we didn't wait long for our food. Lots of wonderful animals to see, some roaming wild and others looking happy in pens. My 7 year old will love it! We only used the cafe, and were pleasantly surprised by the range of food on the menu. The fresh produce and flowers looked fab though, and next time I'll make sure to visit on a day I need to stock up. Great to see a thriving local enterprise - good luck!

Little hidden gem, just happened to be stuck behind a vehicle in the lane. Went in and was extremely surprised on how friendly and nice everyone were. Had a coffee, my daughter in law had a pot of tea and a slice of cake..lovely! I had my grandson with us, he woke up for his feed and a member of staff went over and closed the patio door so it wouldn't be to cold for him. Lovely fruit and veg shop next door, lovely produce. Also plants and flowers to purchase.Plus there's animals roaming around the site...obviously behind fences. Also local produce to buy inside the coffee shop. Lovely place.

What hidden gem! We chose to go here for breakfast as it was somewhere we hadn't been before, and it was well worth it! The breakfast was served quickly and was excellent, on our going to breakfast list it scored a 10/10! And the best cup of tea. The whole place had a lovely friendly feel about it. It's been a bit wet this week so we didn't do a lot of animal visiting, but we will be back in the summer with our granddaughters.

7 of us enjoyed a lovely lunch at the cafe today. Despite being a chilly and damp day the cafe was warm and welcoming and really busy. We had very various food including sandwiches, toasties, full English and jacket potatoes and everything was perfect. The bread used was really fresh and tasty and everything was well cooked. The Mocha and Cappuccino were great too! Great produce to purchase from the shop area and lovely fresh fruit, veg and plants to buy from the attached green grocers. Highly recommended!

Such a lovely setting for a hot drink and snack. Only ordered hot drinks and cake but, unfortunately the cakes are stored in a chiller cabinet and the victoria sponge and chocolate cake were very cold and dense/stale in texture which I can assume is due to this.

Booked in for afternoon tea with family - the team were fantastic with understanding of dietary requirements and happy to adapt to fit. The location is a lovely quiet location and lots of parking. Dog friendly. The cafe was clean, well laid out, and had seating inside and outside. Lots of lovely treats to buy. I got some lovely chutneys and will be back to get more. Food was absolutely delicious and there was plenty of it - we were very full. Coffee and tea was lovely too. Staff were so friendly and couldn't be more helpful and attentive. Been previously and had a good breakfast sandwich. However, went with a friend for lunch today, not overly busy, maybe just half full. Nothing on the menu should really take more than a few minutes to cook.

Golden Valley Farm Shop and Cafe is new. We were there on opening day and have been back since. The setting is in beautiful countryside with Emus, Sheep and Goats for all to see and enjoy. The welcome was wonderful - we were greeted like old friends. We stayed for breakfast and on our second visit, lunch. Both were individually prepared as we waited, and both were delicious. Coffee was flavoursome and strong - just how it should be. There is also the advantage of other local traders (our regular butcher, nearby bakery, plant and shrub stall and local fruit and veg stall) on site. Worth visiting and highly recommended.

So sorry to say the quality of the food today was very poor. Our first 3 orders good. The last two very poor. Hardly any fish in the overcooked batter and chips were hard and dry. Not worth the £25 I paid at all!
