Hands down the best fish & chips I've had since moving to Bristol 6 years ago. The battered sausage was brilliant too....thick but light crispy batter.

Out of the 3 different fish and chips that I've tried in Bristol this one scores first place. Bristol Fryer in 2nd place, and Reel Soul in 3rd place. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because in the past year they made a mistake with my order on 2 separate occasions. Both occasions I ordered 2 sets of fish and chips and got only one. I did go back to get the one they had left out, before driving away. It's a busy place, so they might make mistakes, so make sure you've got everything you've ordered before driving away. Still the best fish and chips place in Bristol so far.

The kebab was alright. Nothing to write home about. Typical donner meat but nice bread and chips.

Slightly pricier large cod and chips than nearby competition, but was served the BIGGEST large cod I've had for a while, with lots of quality chips. Could serve two! Batter was tasty and crispy, cod was skinned, and all cooked from fresh when ordered. So value for money. Some seating for takeaway in spacious customer area. Very Nice.

Great food served up at this lovely chippy, most food all cooked fresh while you wait , friendly staff as well , definitely coming back soon .

Nicks shops are great quality all round. My mum will only have is omelettes, and I'll only have my favourite faggots and chips.

It's been a long time since I've had fish and chips and completely emptied my plate. Lovely! Your gravy is amazing! Next time I definitely need a large!

Quality food at reasonable prices.

Friendly staff even for newcomers. Very open area making it feel relaxing and not cramped. Food prepped and done within minutes. Will become my local chippy for the future.

You should change the schedule on Google otherwise we drive to yours shop for nothing and when you hungry doesn’t make customers happy, say it opens 17:00 o’clock not open now There was no mistake guys , Google said the shop is open , I drove there 15 min to buy some food and you guys said that it’s open at 5 o’clock. The mistake is on Google , but you guys manage the schedule on that, I advice you check that so other customers won’t have the same experience

The fish is going down hill here, the last few times I’ve been the fish has been very small and over cooked. Very disappointed. Can’t fault the chips or everything else I’ve tried in the menu but I won’t be going back for fish any time soon.

Lovely fish and chips, battered sausages are an absolute bargain too. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and with the new addition of mobile ordering it’s really easy to walk down and collect knowing your order will be ready. 100% would recommend to anyone.

Had large cod and chips and it was fab. Chips were great, not soggy, and a really good sized fish. Enough to feed two. Friendly staff. Good prices.

Quality chip shop, I'm vegetarian and there is a few different options to choose from. They fry the vegie burgers as you order it so you know its not been sitting around for ages like in some other places. Friendly service and allways a decent amount of chips.

Waited 25 minutes for my food.Than when I was due to get my food they lost my number and served a customer who had been there no more than 5-6 minutes.They did the same to another couple while I was waiting.Was not impressed with their system.

Just amazing people the most brilliant customer service they came to the rescue when Just eat wouldn’t help.They took the time to deliver our order themselves . It can only be said it was absolutely beautiful food top class nosh felt truly spoilt thank you so much.

Lovely halloumi and chips. The halloumi was so thickly sliced and generous amount of chips. Will return here again for defo. Highly recommended

Good varied menu, service was quick and pleasant, portion size was good and so was the quality of food, they do like to remind you they are award winning, not sure what the award is for maybe it's for the best signage of a shop that's won an award

Sadly the last few times we have ordered the chips they have been so crunchy and dry and mainly scrumpies, a shame as they used to be the best. We will be ordering from elsewhere.

Possibly the best Fish and Chip shop in Weston Super Mare

Okay, so I know no-one sober should admit to liking doner kebabs, but from this place they are absolutely delicious! The salad is how it should be (I would order it as a side even if I wasn't getting it with the kebab). We get a large doner to share between 2 adults and a portion of halloumi and can just about manage it. We haven't had traditional fish and chips but I'm confident that it would be as equally delicious. Friendly staff and decent prices.

Unfortunately, every time I've had chips from this place theyve been poor. They're either obviously a couple of days old and hard and dry or if they are fresh they're grainy and hurt your teeth. Nice clean establishment but chips are dire.

Nice place. Looks very clean and staff are friendly. Family run business i think. Good food for a good price. Although sometimes the chips are a bit dry. Otherwise no complaints and happy to get my kebab or fish and chips from here

Hands down the best fish chips I've had in England. Fish and chips is reasonably priced and really good quality. can't say if any of the other things such as kebabs are as good but for fish, chips and sauces they are top notch authentic English fish and chips.

I know it’s not the Jolly Fryer anymore and it has been good as ocean catch but in the last month we have been really disappointed with the food here. Chips have been under cooked and hard. The salad recipe has changed and not for the better. Ran out of chicken wings on an early midweek evening. Chilli sauce tastes like tomato sauce . It seems all the focus is now on their online deliveries and everything else has gone down hill. After 25 years we won’t be going back.

Order never arrived yet delivery driver said delivered. Shop doesn’t know who the driver is ????????? And I’m supposed to order again for driver to lie and steal my order costing me £15. Don’t let them rob you.

Had a few things Inc kebab, can't believe you have to choose either salad OR chips with it salad should be Complimentary. All food was barely warm and batter on sausage extremely greasy. Very poor considering the high cost, very expensive.

Best battered sausage you'll find in the south west. Chip portions are usually fantastic. Quick service even when busy and very polite friendly staff

Best chip shop in Bristol by far I did forget my tartare sauce the other day tho and there sauce is amazing but left it on the counter grrr. Been going there for years and it's as good as it's always been

Best fish and chips I've had in Bristol. Haven't been anwhere else since moving to Filton. My partner and I always order the same thing and they always know us there. Friendly service, exceptionally crispy batter cooked to order, all Covid procedures observed and the best garlic mayo I've ever had (seriously try it it's amazing!)

Not a big fan of fish and chips takeaways as most of the time you get hardly any fish inside the tastless,full of fat batter. Ocean Catch is NOTHING like that. Huge portions. Absolutely beautiful fish coverd in very thin, crispy and super tasty butter. Small portion of Chips is actually enormous and delicious. First time at this fish bar food looked great, fish was cooked nicely but there was too many chips and they were on the hard crunchy side with little quality or taste, unfortunately it ruined a nice meal with my son. Back to Winterbourne fish bar for me.

Thought we'd give this place a chance a couple of months ago & haven't regretted it. Best Cod & Chips by a mile, you can taste it's fresh and the batter is lovely & crisp, the Added Bonus is they also do a quick delivery service so no need to trudge out in the cold weather <3

Absolutely amazing. Honestly the best kebab I've ever had. Everything I've had from here has been brilliant but their kebabs are really something else. Barely any grease, well seasoned and lightly spiced. The meat itself is out of this world but to combine it with the best chips I've ever had is a ridiculously good decision. If you live in the area or even just passing through, i highly recommend this place. Not just for their amazing kebabs but for everything else as well.

The fish and chips is good but their customer service is very poor. You could end up waiting half an hour and not be served.

Great tasting food but portion size was atrocious for the price we paid, Large kebab ordered and got what can only be described as a child size portion.

This place is an absolute gem of a find! I only recently moved to Filton from over Clifton way and was moaning to my boyfriend that I'd have to travel all the way to Clifton to get any decent fish and chips (after trying a different local and being very very disappointed). I initially didn't know about this place because it isn't on Just Eat - and that only adds to the calibre of this establishment. Speaking to the server last night, this is because they did not want to compromise on quality and customer engagement, and it was the right decision. The fish was cooked to perfection and incredibly fresh (take it from an ex fishmonger here), the batter was lovely and light, the oil was clearly fresh, the chips the perfect combination of soggy and crispy, and to top it off the packaging was excellent with no plastic in sight! Highly recommend this place, well worth travelling for and my new Bristol fave.
