The best restaurants serving British food in England

The new owners, Justine and Andy, have transformed this friendly village pub. They provide great meals at great prices as well as events such as music and quiz nights. We run a B&B nearby and lots of our guests have been there and provided good reports to back up our own experiences. Well done!

There were eight of us and our meals were superb. Delicious freshly cooked food, extremely high quality, a good menu choice. An excellent choice of wines too. Nossa is under new management and is working hard to be successful. I hope it does well, it certainly deserves to.

Positives first. Staff are pleasant and quick even on busy nights. However be warned, size portioning is VERY inconsistent and depends on who serves you. 9/10 I order a donor meat and chips, varying small or large depending on how hungry I am. Went this evening and the guy before me ordered a large, the box was overflowing even in a large box. This is what I normally expect. I also ordered and was charged for a large. Served by a different lady but was given less than a small just in the large box. Wont be ordering a large again.

DO NOT TIP!!! Food was OK, when going to pay asked the young waitress if she sees the tips and she replied she has never had any tips , owners must be keeping them and as someone who worked in the trade this is disgusting , greedy owners should be ashamed will not go back , how tight can a owner be

Excellent fish and chips. The service was quick and very friendly. The high rating is well deserved. The place looks very clean. The food was delicious and the portions were plentiful. Highly recommended if you're in the area and want to eat good fish and chips.

A lovely tea room to walk to for lunch time. Warm welcome, nice menu choice & food was lovely, no scrimping on the fillings. Dog friendly with a treat for our two girls. Gifs shop to look around with reasonable prices. Thank you very much.

A wonderful village pub with great food and real ales. We came for the pies and were not disappointed. We will certainly return

The Junipers and I cannot believe how amazing this cafe is, Oh we will be back! Now my Isa told me about 'The Tennis Cafe' and how the Girls and I should make it apart of our weekly cafe rotation, now after the absolutely divine afternoon we had I think you have become our new Monday cafe!! The beautiful young ladies working the cafe are so attentive and with how busy it is you'd think they'd be flabbergasted but no! Absolutely not! on the ball they were! what an amazing group to be looking after such a cafe!

First time visiting here. Lovely place and very clean. We had gammon and a cheesy flatbread with chicken - couldn't fault the food, absolutely gorgeous!! Staff were friendly enough but I feel a smile or two would improve the welcome

Gone down hill since changing hands - smaller less quality fish with too many simple take away order mistakes l (mushy peas today which should have been curry sauce), with little effort to address concerns.

Never been a massive fan of a roast dinner carvery but my goodness this place changed that. The food was fantastic could not fault it every mouthful was super tasty. Hats off to the chef and staff who were super friendly and provided a good service. We will definitely be back again and again and again ….

A gem of a find! Spotlessly clean, food amazing, the breakfast was superb. The hosts were exceptional. We will return in the autumn. Absolutely faultless.

Wow! What a lovely evening we had...food lovely...looked after by Ruby who was amazing! Being front if house myself (tabbs ,truro) it was great to have great service. We will be back! Sunday roast next. Thanks again
