We booked a last-minute dinner at the Royal George for 12 people (with just a couple of hours’ notice!) and were absolutely blown away by the experience. We’re on holiday in Appledore and this evening was easily a highlight of our trip. The team couldn’t have been more accommodating – they gave us a private room, which made it feel extra special. Service was exceptional from the moment we arrived. We were never left waiting for anything – drinks flowed, food came out promptly, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. The food? Incredible. The burgers were terrific, the steaks were melt-in-the-mouth tender, the mussels were fresh and full of flavour, and the fish curry was perfectly spiced and absolutely beautiful. They even went above and beyond by sending us home with a takeaway portion of the chef’s crumble of the day for a family member who couldn’t make it. Such a thoughtful touch. And yes, our dog Barney was welcomed too – which made the whole evening feel even more inclusive and relaxed. We left full, happy, and very grateful. The Royal George is an absolute gem. Highly recommend!

We were on holiday and had booked lunch at Belluno on Easter Monday. Very enjoyable. Food was delicious and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We loved it so much, we went again a few days later. The set lunch is very reasonably priced and they do not skint on portion sizes. Only wish we lived locally and could go there more often. Highly recommend this venue.

Having stopped in Chapel-en-le-Frith, we asked a business owner for a recommendation for lunch. She directed us to visit the Beehive Inn in Combs, a small village 10 minutes drive away. We loved it. Inside & outside seating, good ales and I loved the Hot Roast Beef and sticky onion and gravy dish on Granary Bloomer. Win!!! One of those pubs where you get to chat to the local customers and admire their well-behaved dogs. This is the best of British!

First time my partner & I have ate here, if you don’t mind paying that little bit more for good food this place is a MUST. From the warm welcome we received upon arrival till we left can’t fault this place at all. All of the staff were very attentive always making sure we had everything we needed/ wanted. Both our meals were of the highest quality, the steak was cooked to perfection & the chicken was full of flavour. Nice ambience to the place with piano bar style music playing in the background.

Having booked a show at the local theatre we researched and selected this restaurant in the main as it had a lovely menu and was walking distance to the hotel and theatre. Booked over the phone and the gentleman was lovely. We arrived and from the first moment to the last the service was great. We especially liked the chef / owner coming to each table to ask how the food and service was. The service stayed already was great and the food was lovely. Indeed my favourite bruschetta to date and I’ve been Italy a few times too. The pasta was terrific and puddings superb. Would we come back if we were in the area again absolutely. 💯

Had an amazing evening out! The food was top-notch—both the Chicken Caesar Salad and the Harissa Chicken Burger were delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were absolutely brilliant, warm and funny, really adding to the atmosphere. Speed of service was good too, and I appreciated that they checked in for a second drink and offered dessert. Can't wait to come back for more great food and the lovely team!

What a lovely find in Lymington - probably one of our best meals in the last few years and we enjoy eating out alot. We found this via the Michelin guide and made a day trip of it to visit this charming restaurant by the marina walking street. We chose to have an early lunch with their 7 course tasting menu. Our particular menu had a seafood focus to it and my goodness was it a treat. We had oyster dressed in honey and jalapeño, delicate crab with asparagus velouté and poached quail egg, skate cheeks with the most lovely langoustine sauce and lobster cassoulet! As the courses kept coming, we were delighted with different flavour combinations. The best, well - perhaps second best because the crab dish really stole the show - was the main dessert which was a sabayon with an indulgent chocolate mousse drizzled with the most perfect South African olive oil - the combination was nutty and rich and each time you inhaled, you got the lovely olive oil aroma dancing with the sabayon - such a surprisingly lovely combination that just makes you shake your head in wonder. Service was professional and attentive with a full understanding of each dish and detail. The accompanying wine flight was also the perfect compliment to the tasting menu - not trying to stand out but instead meanders with you on chef’s culinary journey. We drove from London and will do so again in a heartbeat to come back. The tasting menu is innovative and interesting, but not so wacky that you don’t recognise your meal. Prices are not cheap but certainly not over the top for the quality of the ingredients, experience and skill of the chef’s team and impeccable service. Lunch is a good time to visit as its not as busy as dinner (which they are often fully booked) and allows you time to enjoy the experience and still have a nice walk afterwards. Note: bring cash as service is not added to the credit card bill and can only be paid separately - nearest cash machine is at Tesco about 8 mins away so good to sort this out beforehand. Parking is available in the lots at the marina (if its busy, wait a few mins as people seem to come and go). Dress code I would say is comfortable and neat. The ambiance of the restaurant is calm and charming with a few little whimsical features that make you smile - we sat next to a metal angler fish lamp! But the team here really pulls it all together, - so welcoming, knowledgable and passionate about their food and wine. Such a lovely find and we will be back again soon!

Wanted to like this place more but the food is only okay - and some of it is terribly bad value, though weirdly some other dishes are quite cheap .. it's quite a nice dining room, staff and service are good but the food is mainly mediocre and some dishes are very expensive ( for example the cured meat board is actually a plate with about 10 small slices of Salami/Bresaola priced at £17!) ... It's not a bad spot, but I was expecting a bit more
