Great to see the pub open again and the good back to its usual high standard. Wine was nice ( Shiraz ) Mussels starter perfect, fish and chips the best I’ve had in a while 👍

Always been a good pub for a sit down take in the views

Food overall good, however we had a few poor dishes. overcooked lasagne, portions were hearty. I would say it has firce competition from the other pub in Warley, which is always booked up.

Lovely, classic pubfood (but vegan!), nice beer and board game selection, amazing view. Very welcoming after a cold, wet walk.

We went for a family meal and was very disappointed as a whole, the fish and chips was soggy batter. The lasagne wasn't very good either. We had apple crumble but the crumble didn't look cooked. They ran out of Zinfandel eine and had no sparkling water. The ladies toilet was also quite dirty. We always used to enjoy our meals here at this venue.

Booked a table for 5 of us last minute for a Sunday afternoon roast at beginning of September while staying in a cottage locally. Probably one of the best roasts ever. The beef was cooked to perfection as were the vegetables which were a good selection. The roasties were delicious as was the separate cauliflower cheese. The others all had the Yorkshire pudding wraps which were huge and filled with the delicious beef and two had gammon. We also ordered a doggy Sunday dinner and this came with lots of lovely meat and all the trimmings in the delicious gravy! We forgot to take pics of our meals just the dogs! Service was faultless from start to finish with great staff and beautiful views from our table too. Hopefully will visit Yorkshire and the area again soon and wouldn’t hesitate visiting The Winterburn again. Thoroughly recommended.

Looking at recent reviews we was expecting a nice lunch. Unfortunately we didn't get this. Ordered Tuna mayo sandwich and Ham sandwich plus a ceaser salad. Who would have thought a chef/cook could get these wrong. The margarine on the stale cheap supermarket bread was so thick as was the mayonnaise. Ceaser salad was a huge pile of salad leaves with a large amount of croutons - when the waitress brought the food she said " that's the best the chef can do right now". When the girl came to collect the plates she said was everything ok? By the amount of food we had left I told her it clearly wasn't. No one came from the kitchen - waitress said they would not charge for the drinks. The drinks were fine. So basically we paid £ 26.85 for 3 meals of which only chips and salad leaves edible! Won't be returning.

We went to the Winterburn for a Sunday roast dinner and it was truly the best roast I've ever had. Everything was freshly made and amazing. They didn't have the nut roast so offered an alternative of a lentil/veggie shepherd's pie , which turned out to be better than a nut roast. The customer service was incredible; we were served very quickly, the food came out in perfect timing and the staff are so friendly. Although we only went for a Sunday roast and drinks, the rest of the menu looked amazing. I highly recommend and we'll definitely be back.

We had such a great vegan meal at The Winterburn that we returned there the next evening for more food and drink☺️ We loved the food, the incredible view and chatting to lovely staff, especially Angelina who made us feel so welcome we didn't want to leave☺️ Our little dog had a doggy roast dinner both days which they do for the dogs at the pub and she loved it. It was only £3 and it was good value for money. Thank you staff at The Winterburn, especially Angelina for a great experience.

Food fresh and very tasty, staff friendly, helpful and informative about the food they're serving and the prices are very competitive worth every penny will book next time can be busy around meal times.

Sunday roast pork was so disappointing. Served 2 thin over cooked pork loin steaks with trimmings. No roast potatoes either. Big let down from last visit.

Let's start with who what and where, I travel around the uk eating out, I am not or asked to do a review on any places I eat from, Sunday lunch ???? Wow unsure who was the chef but that shouldn’t matter to me but to the owners, anyone can serve up food or destroy the ingredients used which was the case. The view from the premises was fantastic, the rest was one I don’t want to experience again. If you have a palate then don’t eat here, the area has so many quality eateries and the Winterburn isn’t one, it’s expensive for the wrong reason , food poor drinks very very expensive, I leave it up to the one who eats out to make there own decision and always say you pay you decide, my skill knowledge comes from 45 years of cheffing started at 14, if it’s a one off or a treat quality should be expected and delivered, look at other places and don’t spoil your one night out or special occasion eating at the winterburn, if it was a bad night that I visited then my review is correct as I was charged the same as there best night if they have one.

Cosy pub. Very welcoming and attentive staff. Food was good value we had 3 main meals and they were all really tasty and quite large portions. Have already rebooked for the following week

Well what an absolute Gem of a place. The warmest of welcomes, our little Dottie (a cocker spaniel) absolutely loved her "Doggie dinner" and didn't leave a thing. My Son and I ordered our food and it was as expected..... AMAZING. I can heartily recommend the Roast Beef Yorkshire Pudding Wrap, followed up with the home made Sponge and Custard. The host and staff were really accommodating and I can safely say that we will definitely be back. What a superb pub. Thankyou guys.

The most wonderful old fashioned pub ,bursting with atmosphere and out of this world views. The food was beyond delious at very reasonable prices. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the host was amazing.

Excellent spot with cracking views! Every time I have come the staff and service have been great. Amazing food, doggy friendly, and a great atmosphere! Tried the specials chicken goujons, they were delicious, whilst my dog enjoyed his doggy dinner! Fab time, definitely will be returning.

Absolutely terrible pub since last owners left. Ridiculous opening hours and terrible service. Would probably help employing competent staff instead of someone who has clearly never worked in a pub before

Visited for food before heading into Halifax yesterday evening. Very friendly and welcoming owner. All 4 meals were excellent- halloumi burger, fish n chips, lasagne and a burger. Will definitely revisit if in the area again.

Called for a drink only, seemed busy on Sunday for meals which I take as a good sign. The views outside across the Ryburn valley are spectacular.

Called in for a drink then decided we would have something to eat went for the sandwich option which came with chips, there were not many people in the pub, so we placed our order, approx 30 mins later we were informed that the my order the ham was not available so I went for beef, when it arrived the beef was very tough, our dog had most of it, all in all our food was not up to standard, friendly chatty girl behind bar but we would not eat there again, perhaps just a drink if we call again.

I went there last week with my sister, it was Friday so yes we had fish and chips, probably the best fish and chips we’ve ever had. Simply gorgeous. Then there’s the view of Calder valley. Happy valley!

Quiet early evening. 1 real ale available. I don't eat onions or spicy food so a restricted selection for me, had the muscles, plenty of them in white wine sauce, followed by delicious sticky coffee pud. Wife had salmon very nicely cooked. Would recommend.

We have stopped off for a pint during our hike with the dogs over the Easter Weekend. The staff were super attentive and really welcoming to us and our fur babies 🐾 so we decided to book and have dinner the following evening. We were told we could bring the dogs as well into the bar area for dinner and they can have a doggy dinner! We'll this obviously went down well with not just us but BOTH dogs 😋 .... if I am honest I would of even the doggy dinner myself it looked that good. Myself and my partner had the Sunday Roast ourselves and it did not disappoint! So tasty and delicious Gravy! Hats off to the chef and of course the amazing staff! We will be back! It's not our local area but we house swap with my sister so this will certainly become our regular when visiting! Well worth a visit! Thank you 😃

Ordered kids burger and fries. No side and cheese on the burger. Came with a side my child didn’t want on his plate and no cheese. The burger looked like an Iceland special and the tea cake was that dry he nearly choked. Overall pretty poor. On a plus side, good view. Take a picnic and sit outside.

Lovely pub in a great position. Went there for Monday lunch, they were still serving good despite it being mid afternoon when we arrived. Service was quick and friendly and the food and drinks were good quality and very good value for money. They had a gluten free (NGI) menu as well as a vegan one, both of which had multiple options to choose from. A great little pub to walk to, with wonderful views. Also had some outside seating which I imagine it's wonderful to sit at in the summer. Also had parking.

We found the place accidentally and of course hadn’t booked it, we thought we would’ve had to leave because it was Mother’s Day, but they seated us and served us a delicious Sunday dinner. Booked again for next Sunday.
