The Mill Cafe in Calderdale

I have ordered my son a meal from here a few times over the last 7 weeks. Everything has always been very nice, however today it was very poor. The chips smelled of cheap burnt fat and he said they were horrible and the burger was thrown together and slopped with sauce. He left most of it. It wasnt cheap either, alot to pay for cheap poor food.

Took mum, we had never been before but we were going to B&Q and it's not that far from there. Mum had the small breakfast which wasn't that small. She really enjoyed it. I had hot beef sandwich and chips. Large teacakes with plenty of beef and the chips were nice too. Coffee was strong which I like. All in all it was good, staff very friendly. Definitely go again if we are over that way.

Excellent place nice food friendly staff

We were staying in a Travelodge and needed somewhere for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We found this great cafe. Family friendly and great cooked breakfast.

Food was lovely. So nice to finally find a cafe that serves nice food in Halifax with so much choice. Staff are really friendly and so welcoming. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Will certainly be going there again. 🙂🙂🙂 .

Had a good gluten free Sunday lunch here with family, everyone enjoyed the food, they have a fabulous selection for breakfasts and they deliver too. Will definitely be going back.

staff were very friendly and extremely happy to accommodate our dog. food was great, just what we needed - * edit * New Management and no longer dog friendly.

Plenty to choose from and reasonably priced. Our food came quickly after ordered. It's nothing flash but definitely serves it's purpose well.

I ordered a sausage bacon and egg sandwich the bacon was so overcooked it made me feel sick and it took quite a while to come to the table this place used to be nice but had gone seriously down hill will not be coming back!

Definitely the best breakfast in Halifax! The sausages are fantastic, eggs perfect. Just like a proper hotel breakfast. Excellent!

Our cycling club Birdwell Wheelers rode our bikes to watch the Tour of Yorkshire and visited the cafe after the race had passed through. Got to say we all enjoyed the breakfast served by your staff and could not fault the food or the service. We will be putting the cafe on our list of preferred cafes and will definitely visit again and pass out recommendation's of your cafe to all of our cycling contacts and other cycling clubs.

Great food and great service. Our dogs love it there as well. Always made very welcome....

Good quality products rather than quantity always a winner. Sausage and bacon high quality. Eggs good too. I don't like beans or tinned tomatoes but that's my problem . The wife likes both. White bread should only be a choice with good brown bread. Staff are friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable. Great place.

Sunday lunch at The Mill. I had prawn cocktail to start whilst my friend had home made carrot and corriander soup, we both commented that we enjoyed. For main I opted for beef whilst friend opted for pork loin both served with homemade Yorkshire, roasts and mash and 2 veg. Friend was impressed with the Yorkshire whilst I enjoyed the aldente cooked veg. Unfortunately I couldn't manage a homemade sweet whilst my friend opted to take a slice of cheesecake home for later. Including a can of cola, a latte and a cappachino bill total was £25.60!

Went with my friend and we choose the giant Yorkshire on the specials board and it didn’t disappoint good but of beef non of that thin sliced from the deli in gravy was a proper bit of beef veg was lovely and proper mash too. So because of the triumphant giant yorkie I decided a few days later to take mi fella for a fry up again didn’t disappoint was lovely and the eggs were cooked lovely not snotty not crispy and over cooked just right...customer for life I reckon, can never find anywhere decent happy we decided to give it a try!

Went for the Tapas evening, good variety to chose from, we chose 6 and all looked nice and tasted even better. Took our own wine which always cuts down on the expense of drinks. Don’t miss out on desserts the cheesecakes are yummy. Nice and friendly atmosphere, would definitely recommend it.

Visited recently for a Mexican themed night and we had a great time. The food was quick and really tasty and amazing value for money! Had a three course meal and a drink for under £13! The quality was great and everything was homemade even the guacamole and salsa for the nachos! The brownie was lovely and I can’t wait to come back, lovely home cooked food for an absolute bargain! Thanks for a great night!

It's okay, nothing special but beats some cafes in town centre. Heard lots of reviews so thought we should try it out, food is mediocre, had Sunday lunch with a whole cow on the plate so therefore not enough room for vegetables.

Brilliant food and friendly staff

Amazing Tapas evening tonight.We did as recommended and ordered 3 dishes each.Garlic mushroom cauliflower fritters and dirty wedges for me the vegetarian.Nachos meatballs cod bites and steak and goals cheese All were absolutely delicious. And of course cheesy chips for the daughter. We would highly recommend Tapas night ...perfect !!!!

Taken here for lunch by a business contact. My contact had been ill recently, so was not eating too well, but the chef suggested scrambled egg on brown toast, which was not on the menu. I had the chicken and leek pie which was home cooked and brilliant, all washed down with a strong cup of tea. What a wonderful place!

As always, a lovely meal and very pleasant attentive staff (owners) I highly recommend this to everyone

Went for a family Easter Sunday Lunch today, the warm welcome as soon as you walk in was lovely and from there on in the service was excellent. The food was devine, super quality, fantastic portions and all arrives at your table red hot, all this for £9.95, what a bargain! I can't wait to return, a big thank you to all the team at the Mill Cafe, job well done 😊👍

First visit today. Found this cafe to be excellent. We were warmly welcomed and the food and service was both excellent and fairly priced. Will definitely be visiting again.

Best food in Halifax, and best price aswell as the best service. If you haven't tried it you should. You won't be disappointed.

Fab welcoming cafe...great service and super quick!! Went for Sunday lunch and could not believe the price!! 3 courses for £9.95!! Beef was delish hot and tasty ...lashings of thick gravy too with an extra jug if you needed it!! Pudding just the same...with hot thick custard!! Great hospitality..will definitely be back as we were told they do a wicked burger!!

If you want to avoid chain eateries this is well worth a drive out of Halifax centre. Great freshly cooked breakfast, reasonable prices and lovely people. Highly recommended!

My wife and I had a roast beef lunch as a takeaway and it was really nice, good quality and very tasty. I would definitely recommend this place and will be going again

We are fortunate to work closeby and the Mill cafe is a little gem of a place. Eaten breakfast and lunch and can’t fault it. The menu is varied and the prices are unbeatable. Damn good coffee made just how you want it.

Called for lunch .really was great . Sausage & mash, simple but perfect. It's all in the sausage...and these were quality.
